Gaza & Israël: Tous les articles importants - Série no.8

Some 1,000 new immigrants and foreign-language-speaking Jews volunteer to army of bloggers set up by Absorption Ministry and Foreign Ministry with the stated objective of flooding blogs with pro-Israel opinions.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Hitler had a huge propaganda operation, too.

It didn't work.

Neither The US Nor Israel Is A "Genuine Party To Peace."

The Arab League peace proposal does indeed call for normalization of relations with Israel - in the context - repeat, in the context of a two-state settlement in terms of the longstanding international consensus, which the US and Israel have blocked for over 30 years, in international isolation, and still do.

Killing Palestinians Doesn't Count

On January 27th media headlines trumpeted that Palestinians had broken the latest cease-fire: a bomb had killed one Israeli soldier and injured two or three.

Virtually every media outlet reported this action as a major breach in the ceasefire that had begun on January 18th: CNN, AP, NPR, the New York Times, The Washington Post, Fox News, ABC, CBS, the Christian Science Monitor, the LA Times, the McClatchy Newspapers, etc, all pinned the resumption of violence on Palestinians.

There’s just one problem. Israeli forces had already violated the ceasefire at least seven times:

Israeli forces killed a Palestinian farmer in Khuza'a east of Khan Yunis on Jan 18

Israeli forces killed a Palestinian farmer east of Jabalia on Jan. 19

Webmaster's Commentary:

The bombing on the 27th was later claimed by the Jihadist and Tawhid Brigades; a rival faction unconnected to HAMAS.

How to Kill a Palestinian

Gaza Invasion: Powered By The U.S.

It's well known that the U.S. supplies the Israelis with much of their military hardware. Over the past few decades, the U.S. has provided about $53 billion in military aid to Israel. What's not well known is that since 2004, U.S. taxpayers have paid to supply over 500 million gallons of refined oil products -- worth about $1.1 billion –- to the Israeli military. While a handful of countries get motor fuel from the U.S., they receive only a fraction of the fuel that Israel does -- fuel now being used by Israeli fighter jets, helicopters and tanks to battle Hamas.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The US supplies Israel with fuel, even when it causes shortages for American citizens.

What we have known all along...

Database implicates Israeli government in settlement land grab

Ha'aretz has busted open a huge story today in their article "Secret Israeli database reveals full extent of illegal settlement." The story outlines a database created by the Israeli defense establishment to gather:
credible and accessible information at the ready to contend with legal actions brought by Palestinian residents, human rights organizations and leftist movements challenging the legality of construction in the settlements and the use of private lands to establish or expand them.

The article adds, "the painstakingly amassed data was labeled political dynamite." Well the dynamite has exploded.

Israel 'hides settlements data'

The Israeli defence ministry has concealed information about the extent of illegal settlement-building in the West Bank, a leading newspaper reports.

Settlement data 'implicates Israel'

A leaked report on Jewish settlements in the West Bank shows that the Israeli government was complicit in illegal construction on land owned by Palestinians, an Israeli human rights group says.

They shoot farmers, don't they? Israeli Snipers shoot at unarmed Palestinians and Internationals VIDEO

Israeli Military Shoot Gaza Farmer

As the farmers were loading up the parsley and spinach from the agricultural lands shots were fired from Israeli forces on the border. Mohammad was shot in the right leg and evacuated, while still under fire, to hospital.

The Israeli Smashing of Gaza and International Silence

The Israeli military destroyed virtually everything in a corridor along the border in Jabalia and forced the evacuation of Gazans back into the center part of Gaza.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Something tells me that border is about to get moved.

VIDEO: Gaza civilians left with extensive burns

As well as the 1300 Palestinians who were killed in the war, thousands more suffered serious injuries.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Warning: very graphic images.

But please, watch this: the government we support with billions of your tax dollars (while America's vets sleep homeless in the streets)believes that the killing of any Gazan (non-combatants, women, kids, the elderly) is perfectly justifiable.

"The Lancet" reveals horrendous Israeli war crimes

The horrendous mortality and morbidity statistics revealed by the paper "The Wounds of Gaza", just published in the prestigious medical journal The Lancet are truly shocking – 1,350 killed (60% children) and 5,450 severely wounded (40% children) in reprisals for zero (0) Israeli deaths from Gaza rockets in the preceding year. This demands International Criminal Court and intra-national prosecutions (e.g. in major Israeli military R & R destination countries Australia, the US, the UK and India) and Sanctions and Boycotts against Apartheid Israel by all decent Australians and indeed all decent people around the world.

Webmaster's Commentary:

"Lancet" is known and respected for being a sober, credible resource, and I am very glad that they have made a choice to be a voice for the voiceless, suffering in Gaza.

Livni: Give up half of 'Land of Israel'

Tzipi Livni, who hopes to be appointed Israel's prime minister-designate, said Monday Israel must give up considerable territory in exchange for peace with the Palestinians, drawing a clear distinction with her rival, Benjamin Netanyahu.

She told a convention of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Organizations, "we need to give up half of the Land of Israel," using a term that refers to biblical borders that include today's Israel, the West Bank and Gaza.

She explained that such a withdrawal would be for the good of Israel, to maintain it as a Jewish state.

Livni told the U.S. Jewish leaders that Israel must take the initiative and come forward with its own peace plan to head off international programs. "Any plan put on the table will not be in our interest," she said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This on the same day Israel grabs more of the West Bank for settlements?

Israel takes control of more West Bank land

Israel has taken control of a large chunk of land near a prominent West Bank settlement, paving the way for the possible construction of 2,500 settlement homes, officials said Monday, in a new challenge to Mideast peacemaking.

Significance of Dockworkers’ Refusal to Offload Israeli Cargo

When COSATU and its affiliate SATAWU made it clear that their dockworkers would not be offloading the Johanna Russ, in palpable solidarity with the Palestinian people last week, a largely irrelevant port in the Southern tip of Africa called Durban was making history across the globe once more. Of course, the Israeli goods were offloaded a few days before the scheduled docking, by virtue of scab labour thwarting the blockage and mass protests planned on Sunday. But the message was out: a new wave of civic angst towards injustice had begun. And it was the labour movement at the head of it all.

HOW SERIOUS IS ISRAEL IN GAINING FREEDOM FOR CAPTIVE SOLDIER?

Just how serious is Israel? Do they really want to see this captured soldier freed?? Read the following to see for yourselves who is really holding him captive…..

Webmaster's Commentary:

Shalit is more useful to Israel while he remains a prisoner.

Olmert: No Shipments to Gaza Until Soldier Freed

“We will not allow the opening of the crossings to Gaza, to the extent that it will bring back life to normal,” Olmert insisted, saying that his government would only consider opening the crossings when captured soldier Gilad Shalit is returned.

Webmaster's Commentary:

If Israel is so worried about Shalit, then why did they just finish pouring flaming white phosphorus all over Gaza, possibly incinerating him?

Or, if they actually knew where he was in order to avoid bombing him, why didn't they stage a rescue mission?

Unless Shalit is only valuable to Israel while he remains a captive.

Israeli brinkmanship puts Gaza truce in peril

Webmaster's Commentary:

Israel does not want a truce. They broke the last one. They just want Gaza to take the blame for it all.

Israel intends to use the unlawful combatant law against Gaza POWs

The PA ministry of prisoners' affairs in Gaza said on Monday that Israel intends to use the law of "unlawful combatant" against more than 200 civilians kidnapped during its war on the Gaza Strip whose fate and whereabouts are still unknown and concealed by the IOA.

Webmaster's Commentary:

But Shalit was "kidnapped."

Israeli Soldiers Shooting at Farmers in Abassan Jedida

The Israeli military continues its attack on Palestinian civilians and human rights workers in the Gaza Strip.

Bleeding Gaza Schools

More than 37 primary and secondary schools in Gaza were destroyed or damaged in three weeks of Israeli air, sea and land attacks.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It must take a really butch group of IDF soldiers to destroy...a school.

Of course, they were only following orders; the goal, from the top of the Israeli government on down, is to completely destroy any vestige of education for these kids.

Iran works its way to Israel prosecution

As criminal charges against Israel gain momentum, Iran takes preliminary steps for legal action against implicated Israeli officials.

Israel Obstructing Mine Clearing in Gaza

A team trained to remove and destroy unexploded ordnance has been operating in the Gaza Strip for three weeks, but its work is being held up because Israel has not approved the entry of its equipment nor an area for storing and neutralizing ordnance. For now some of the latter, located by the Palestinian police, is being stored in locations that are dangerously close to population centers in Rafah, Khan Yunis and Gaza City.

UAE denies Israeli tennis player visa

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is being played as "Mean old Arabs beating up on poor Israeli girl" but what they are not mentioning is that Shahar Peer is an IDF soldier and is used by the IDF as a recruiting tool.

The reason she is denied a VISA is because of long-standing policy against allowing IDF into UAE, owing to accusations of war crimes.

Israeli Bombs inflict more pain on Gaza hospital

Dr Dardas and his colleagues found themselves pinned down in their hospital, east of Gaza City and near the Israeli border, on the night of Jan 15 by heavy Israeli bombardment for which Dr Dardas said he could think of no explanation. No one was killed or injured in the bombardment, but the hospital sustained significant damage and staff had to evacuate the hospital by carrying patients out in bed sheets when ambulances finally arrived after 10am the next day.

Israeli tanks enter Gaza City

Israeli tanks backed by helicopters have crossed the border with the Gaza Strip, triggering clashes in Gaza City.

The truth is "hate speech" only to those who have something to hide

Israel's supporters constantly spin any criticism of Israel's actions as hate against the Jewish people. Indeed so desperate are Israel's supporters to dismiss criticism of Israel while being unable to refute the actual facts that they have taken to describing Jewish critics of Israel as "self-hating Jews."

Webmaster's Commentary:

I decided to relink this one because Israel's supporters are once again screaming "Anti-Semite" at every mention of the war crimes committed in Gaza.

This is, of course, silly. One cannot dismiss criticism of Israel's actions by claiming the critics hate Jews any more than one can dismiss criticism of Nazi Germany's actions by claiming the critics hate Germans. Only a compliant corporate media suggests that what is absurd in the case of Hitler somehow makes sense in the case of Olmert.

FLASHBACK - Definition of “Anti-Semitism” expanded to include one’s personal preferences

The Jewish campaign to relegate everything to the “anti-Semitic” category because they refuse to be criticized is becoming increasingly ludicrous and more dangerous to free thinking Americans. Now, they have determined that lack of tolerance for Israelis and Zionists is also considered anti-Semitic.

Webmaster's Commentary:

For a while they even tried to claim that lack of interest in endless Holocaust propaganda was a sign of anti-Semitism.

Israel beating the Anti-Semitism drum as hard as it can!

Lab tests verify white phosphorus in Gaza soil

Laboratory tests conducted by a Turkish university on Gaza soil have confirmed the use of phosphorus bombs by Israel in the coastal sliver.

Israel takes control of more West Bank land

Israel has taken control of a large chunk of land near a prominent West Bank settlement, paving the way for the possible construction of 2,500 settlement homes, officials said Monday, in a new challenge to Mideast peacemaking.

Report: “Israeli Amy kidnapped 7600 children since 2000, 246 remain behind bars”

Lives buried under the rubble in Gaza

Three weeks after the Israeli offensive on the Gaza Strip, 16-year-old Maysa al-Louh sits stoically on the pile of sand that consumes half her home in Beit Lahiya. Under the sand, churned up by Israeli bulldozers during incursions into the area on 4 January 2009 lie all her report cards and school awards that were testament to her excellent academic record.

ONCE YOU SEE WHAT TRULY HAPPENED IN GAZA, IT WILL CHANGE YOU FOREVER

What was this little girl’s name, I wonder. How old was she? Was she sleeping when the bomb hit her home? Did she die a quick death or a slow, agonizing one? Where are her parents, her siblings? How are they faring?

Of the 1,330 Palestinians killed by the Israeli military during the 22-day invasion of Gaza, 437 were children. Let me repeat that: 437 children — each as beautiful and precious as our own.

'Israel responsible for blocking Egypt's effort's to broker truce'

"Israel is responsible for blocking Egypt's efforts to broker a [Gaza] truce by adding a new condition at the last minute," Damascus-based Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal was quoted as saying on Tuesday.

Politically Incorrect Disinvesting? Alan Dershowitz Calls for Israel Related “Counter-Disinvestment Campaign”

Harvard Law School Professor Alan M. Dershowitz has called for a “counter-disinvestment campaign” against Hampshire College unless the school explicitly denies claims that their recent decision to withdraw from a mutual fund represents an act of divestment from Israel, reports The Harvard Crimson.

Webmaster's Commentary:

What Alan M. Dershowitz doesn't understand (or maybe he just assumes you are too stupid to see) is that it is actions like this which validate concerns that Jewish people use their money to bludgeon US society to their will.

This is the same mistake they made with regard to Germany in the 1930s.

I understand that did not work out too well.

Global boycott movement marks its successes

Israel’s Naked Zionfascism

Israel’s Zionfascism is the greatest threat to world peace and security. Its real aim has always been military domination and the obliteration of the Palestinian nation. It is time for people to stop acting like outsiders. The alternative is the global resistance campaign that includes boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) to defeat Zionfascism in pursuit of peace and Palestinian independence.

War and Natural Gas: The Israeli Invasion and Gaza's Offshore Gas Fields

The military invasion of the Gaza Strip by Israeli Forces bears a direct relation to the control and ownership of strategic offshore gas reserves.

This is a war of conquest. Discovered in 2000, there are extensive gas reserves off the Gaza coastline.

Online Censorship by Israel

Following up on yesterdays post “Is Israel Controlling the Internet” today we will learn about Israel’s Government and the IDF attempting to censor and control the internet, face book, you tube and many other social networks, blogs, message boards and news organisations. Today I will be discussing these groups who work online for Israel and the IDF (Israeli Army).

Webmaster's Commentary:

IDF: War crime charges over Gaza offensive are 'legal terror'

War crimes charges brought abroad against Israeli soldiers and officers involved in Operation Cast Lead are nothing but "legal terrorism," Col. Liron Liebman, who heads the military prosecution's international law department, said Wednesday.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Apparently, this Colonel believes that there should be no code of conduct for the "always righteous" military aggressions of Israeli soldiers against Gazan Palestinians.

This gentleman perhaps needs to be reminded that Israel is (at least, on paper) a signatory to the Geneva Conventions.

Fresh BBC row after reporters asked not to cover Gaza demo

SENIOR BBC Scotland managers were plunged into a new row over trust last week after it emerged the corporation's journalists felt they could not report on a demonstration held inside their own building.

Last month more than 20 demonstrators occupied the foyer of BBC Scotland's Pacific Quay headquarters in protest at the corporation's decision not to broadcast an appeal from the Disasters Emergency Committee on behalf of the people of Gaza. More than 40,000 people complained to the BBC about its decision.

According to one BBC Scotland source, radio journalists were told by editors not to include the demonstration on Radio Scotland's news bulletins - even though other branches of the corporation were reporting the story in full.

Durban II drafts: Israel is racist, occupying state

Draft resolutions for the United Nations Durban II summit on racism brand Israel as an occupying state that carries out racist policies, Haaretz has learned.

Israel Set To Destroy Hundreds Of Palestinians Homes In East Jerusalem

Israel has issued a warning for hundreds of Palestinians to evacuate east Jerusalem (al-Quds) before demolishing their homes in the area.

"The owners of 80 houses in the al-Bustan neighborhood have received eviction notices saying that the structures will be destroyed because they are illegal," said Hatem Abdel Kader, an official responsible for the city's affairs in the Palestinian government.

Israeli War Crimes In Gaza Investigated

An Arab League delegation is in Gaza to document alleged Israeli war crimes committed during its three-week offensive in the territory.

Sunday's delegation is made up of international legal and forensic experts. They will present their findings to the Arab League's chief, Amr Moussa.

The Arab League, and its 22 member states, could then attempt to pursue war crimes charges in countries that allow such lawsuits to be presented.

Israel to destroy Arab houses in al-Quds

Israel has issued a warning for hundreds of Palestinians to evacuate east Jerusalem (al-Quds) before demolishing their homes in the area.

"The owners of 80 houses in the al-Bustan neighborhood have received eviction notices saying that the structures will be destroyed because they are illegal," said Hatem Abdel Kader, an official responsible for the city's affairs in the Palestinian government.

Kader told AFP that "The (Jerusalem) municipality used this as a pretext to issue the demolition orders despite appeals by the residents."

The normal rules governing state conduct do not apply to Israel

Critics of Zionism and Israel -- including a few Israelis -- have charted an inverse exceptionality, which describes an Israel that is aberrant, violates international norms with near impunity, engages in systematic abuses of human rights, wages wars at will, and has expanded its territories through conquest. This is not the place to offer an exhaustive list of these negative Israeli exceptions, but we will list a few that are the most egregious.

ZIONIST DOG ATTACKS 100 YEAR OLD PALESTINIAN

During the course of the invasion, an army attack dog mauled the face of Salem Fadel Bani Odeh, aged 100 while he lay helpless in his bed. Two men, Na’el Odeh Bani Odeh, aged 23, Muhamad Mustafa Bani Odeh, aged 25, were also arrested by Israeli Occupation Forces. The windows of a nearby parked car were all shot out by army gunfire.

B'Tselem: If Israel has nothing to hide, let us into Gaza

Israel is preventing independent human rights monitors from entering Gaza, Human Rights Watch and B’Tselem said Sunday.

Meir Weinstein, who heads the Canadian arm of the Jewish Defence League, called yesterday's vote a "black day." He condemns the boycott as "anti-Semitic."

Holland: Shoes thrown at IDF officer during speech

Ron Edelheit asked to speak to members of Jewish community on situation in Israel and Gaza, gets four shoes hurled at him by three pro-Palestinian protestors before even opening his mouth. Suspects detained; Edelheit tells Ynet, 'Slander is just words – here they crossed the line'

Webmaster's Commentary:

If you throw a shoe at a war criminal, you will go to jail.

So you might as well use cleats!

Study: Israel "retaliates" to Palestinian "provocation" in UK press

The study, the first to investigate this aspect of British press coverage of the conflict, examined a period from January to June 2008. It found that when the British press represents a party as retaliating or responding in the conflict, that party is Israel 72 percent of the time. The tabloid press showed a particularly marked bias, representing Israel as retaliating in 100 percent of all representations of "retaliation."

Newly homeless Gazans lament otherwise valuable rainfall

Palestine’s long-awaited rainfall, called a blessing from heaven by Palestinians in the West Bank, was described as a curse for homeless families in the Gaza Strip.

Israel completely destroyed at least 2,000 Palestinian homes and left as a many as 12,000 damaged during its 22-day assault on Gaza.

46,000 people were displaced, according to the United Nations.

Webmaster's Commentary:

You're looking at a massive increase in water-borne diseases for these homeless people whose houses have been destroyed by the IDF. It will certainly affect children and the medically infirm.

Of course, Israeli politicians knew that this would be the ultimate outcome of destroying these homes right about rainy season. So this outcome must be precisely what Israel wanted to have happen.

PALESTINIANS RECONSIDER TWO-STATE STRATEGY

While the west-backed Palestinian Authority is still clinging to the two-state solution as the only feasible strategy for ending the 40-year Israeli occupation, a growing number of Palestinian intellectuals and lay people are coming to the conclusion that the creation of a viable Palestinian state is no longer possible in light of the ubiquitous proliferation of Jewish settlements.

GAZA: DEATH’S LABORATORY

It was as if they had stepped on a mine, but there was no shrapnel in the wound. Some had lost their legs. It looked as though they had been sliced off. I have been to war zones for 30 years, but I have never seen such injuries before.

—Dr. Erik Fosse

ZIO WEB ATTACKS ~~~ ARE YOU A ‘VICTIM’?

Do you write articles giving the truth about the Israeli/Palestinian conflict? Do you have a Blog known for its anti zionist viewpoints? Have you been getting extra ‘visitors’ to your Blog who leave negative comments or participate in polls?

If yes to any of the above, there is a good reason for all of this….it’s a project called Megaphone Israel. It is a new desktop tool that alerts its subscribers to any entries that might be anti Israel or anti zionist.

After notification, the ‘warriors’ jump into action and attack the source of the article. Are we to quiver in our seats because of this? Are we to stop posting because of this? I THINK NOT!

Israel Blocks Pasta Shipment to Gaza

"We're at the end of our rope," said David Holdridge, the head of Middle East emergency relief efforts for Mercy Corps. "This is just ridiculous. It's absolutely absurd."

Israel planning mass expansion of West Bank settlement bloc

Despite the state's formal commitment not to expand West Bank settlements, a government agency has been promoting plans over the past two years to construct thousands of housing units east of the Green Line, Haaretz has learned.

the third hit her in the kneecap

"She was standing in the wheat field near her demolished home, about 800 m from Green Line border, when Israeli soldiers began shooting. The first two bullets hit the ground near her. The third hit her in the kneecap," Wafa al Najar’s mother explained, sitting on an empty hospital bed next to her injured daughter.

We’d left Khoza’a after having been shot at by Israeli soldiers again -these shots, within one metre, the closest so far. The thought of the few desperate farmers who might try to go back on land worried me; I remembered Mohammed’s words about having no other choice, needing to risk it in order to provide for his 2 children and wife.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Obviously, members of the IDF feel very butch about using Palestinian kids for target practice, injuring and sometimes killing the kids they're shooting at.

And why?!?

The answer is very simple.

First, IDF soldiers are educated to not see Palestinians as human beings at all. So, no harm; no foul.

Second, the Israeli government's permission for IDF forces to to maim or kill fellow human beings, even infants and children, and get away with it, is very powerful. It becomes addictive, and every time a soldier does this, there is always a screaming hunger for creating yet more and more carnage.

Israel as a government needs to be careful what it wishes for, by allowing this process. The men and women who ever had a conscience, and indulged in this, may well become ticking time bombs in their own community, when they get back home.
