Voyez pourquoi:

What is the North American Union (NAU)?

Well that depends who you talk to. But considering Canada's mainstream media, under orders from above no doubt, have literally avoided reporting on this important matter until recently, first you're going to have to find someone who has even heard of it.

Nevertheless, the idea of a North American Union became a reality in a meeting held at Baylor University in Waco, Tex. in a March 2005 where the political leaders Prime Minister Martin, President Bush, and President Fox of the three respective nations, Canada, United States, and Mexico came to an agreement to bring together Canada, the United States and Mexico into a super-regional political and economic entity. Following their Baylor University summit they announced the formation of an initial entity called, “The Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America” (SPP).

Considering the magnitude of such an agreement, and the fact that all this took place in early 2005, one would think that details about the NAU would be common knowledge by now.

However, in Canada at least, that is not the case, it's only been since recently has any information on the NAU been allowed to be released through the mainstream media, and what has been allowed to be released as the official story carries the same warm and fuzzy promises of "increased safety and greater prosperity for all" we've heard every time the global corporate elite needed to get a piece of new legislation passed to advance their agenda.

This following link is to a letter that contains an example of the publicly allowed version of the official story about the NAU & SPP. It was a long awaited response to a concerned citizen's persistent inquiry into the reality of the NAU, that came from MP, Chuck Strahl, one of Prime Minister Harper's main sidekicks.

This long awaited response finally came after several requests from the concerned citizen and several responses back from Strahl's Parliamentary aid denying the existence of plans for a NAU. When reading it, in addition to noting that the warm and fuzzy rhetoric is void of any factual specifics regarding the corporate elite's role and control, note the pre-emptive jab and repetitive denial, through the manipulative use of the words "union of North America", that was taken in an attempt to discredit those who have been speaking out about the NAU & SPP.

The Federal Reserve is neither Federal nor a Reserve. Owned by a corrupt group of International Bankers, it is a privately owned monopoly, largely responsible for creating America's National Debt. It is also a parasitic and unnecessary entity that literally creates American currency out of nothing and then collects interest on the backs of taxpayers for doing so.

Big Business, BIG Winner at SPP Summit

The besieged Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP) of North America received a renewed commitment from all three NAFTA leaders at the recent summit in New Orleans. This is a much needed boast for the North American Union agenda that is seen as widely unpopular. There is little doubt that big business is a driving force behind deeper continental integration. The latest SPP Summit reaffirmed that corporate interests will continue to further dominate this process. The corporate agenda is shaping policy, and as their profits increase, they gain more control over our lives.

Which sounds really swell when you consider the bang-up job they are doing right now!

Trans Texas Corridor Not Dead - Just Renamed

The announcement by TxDOT Executive Director Amadeo Saenz at the Texas Transportation Forum that the "Trans Texas Corridor, as it was originally envisioned, is no more," is just another in a series of comments to lead opponents into believing the Trans Texas Corridor is indeed dead. TURF believes this is a deliberate move to dupe opponents into complacency, and we expect iron-clad action before we begin celebrating victory.

Updating the Militarization and Annexation of North America

The title refers to the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America (SPP), also known as the North American Union - formerly launched at a March 23, 2005 Waco, Texas meeting attended by George Bush, Mexico's President Vincente Fox, and Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin. It's for a tri-national agreement, below the radar, for greater economic, political, and security integration with secret business and government working groups devising binding policies with no public knowledge or legislative debate.

Race to the bottom: Mexico lowers wages to snare international auto production

Mexican auto unions are taking a cue from U.S. labor leaders by offering two-tier hiring schemes and salary cuts that bring already low wages down to near-Chinese levels.

"The pressure has not been to raise the Mexican wages up, it's been to push the U.S. wages down," said Ben Davis, the director of the AFL-CIO Solidarity office in Mexico City.

This was precisely the point of NAFTA.

It was to bring American wages down, rather than lift foreign countries' wages up.

Others Americans are afraid that this is just subterfuge. That the real intent of this administration is to suppress decent, control the masses and some even fear it is designed by Bush to delay the elections in the fall. Spanish firm using loan from U.S. to build segments of Texas toll road

Officials with the Spanish toll road operator Cintra have announced that the company has secured $430 million in loans from the U.S. government to build and operate two segments of a toll road in central Texas.

Wait a moment...

I thought the reason the Spanish company was allowed to build a toll road inside the US because the US did not have the money to build one for themselves!!!!!

I want a closer look at this Spanish company!

Repackaging, Renaming, Relaunching the SPP

With the Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP) of North America Leader Summit in New Orleans fast approaching, there are calls to rename and relaunch this whole process. This could be in an effort to try and kickstart the SPP as it is encountering fierce resistance. Beware because any new incarnation could be seen as a victory when in reality nothing would have changed except for the name.

NAFTA Countries to Introduce Simultaneous Legislation to Stop SPP

Elected representatives from Canada, the U.S., and Mexico have agreed to a plan to introduce simultaneous legislation in an effort to stop the Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP) of North America. This cross border cooperation will go a long way in further exposing the North American Union agenda.

Demolition for NAFTA's I-69 Superhighway begins

After decades of waiting, crews are finally breaking ground on the Interstate 69 extension. Some of the first bulldozers began knocking down trees Tuesday afternoon, making room for the interstate. According to an INDOT spokesperson, homes won't be torn down until at least April. The project will demolish more than 400 Hoosier homes. Although work has begun, some of those residents losing their homes are still fighting back.

The clearing is being completed by Gohmann A&C of Clarksville, IN. More info on this company is available in the "Those Responsible" section of the website below. Keep checking for updates.

Future of North America: Vancouver 2010, Coronation of the North American “Community”

by Andrew G. Marshall

Global Research, March 15, 2008

The year 2010 will mark a very important date for all people living within Canada, the United States and Mexico. The often-cited Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) document, in conjunction with the Mexican Council on Foreign Relations and the Canadian Council of Chief Executives (CCCE), titled “Building a North America Community,” serves as the blueprint for the objectives of the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America (SPP). The three above-mentioned “interest” groups make up the Independent Task Force on the Future of North America, who produced the report, in which they state, “The Task Force’s central recommendation is establishment by 2010 of a North American economic and security community, the boundaries of which would be defined by a common external tariff and an outer security perimeter.”1

Vancouver, British Columbia, will be hosting the 2010 Olympics. A 2006 “Report to Leaders” regarding the SPP states as one of its “Security Initiatives”, to “Develop and implement joint plans for cooperation on incident response, and conduct joint training and exercises in emergency response.” As a “Key Milestone”, they recommend to “Initiate planning within 6 months (December 2005) for a preparedness exercise to be conducted in advance of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver/Whistler.”2 A Vancouver daily newspaper reported on March 5, 2008, that “Canada, U.S. and Mexico are planning a massive joint military exercise in April 2009 "to focus on terrorist events that could affect [the] 2010 Olympics," according to Public Safety Canada documents released to 2010 Watch via access to information.”3

$20M 'fence' scrapped for not catching enough illegals

Learn more about the so-called Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP) or NAFTA Plus. This partnership designed to further "harmonize" regulations and develop an infrastructure to speed trade is being implemented in corporate and government working groups without the input of the public and without the knowledge or authorization of Congress. This is an interview by the Alliance for Democracy's Dave Lewit of Janet Eaton and Karen O'Donnell. Janet M. Eaton, PhD, is an independent researcher and educator, and the Sierra Club of Canada’s International Liaison to the Corporate Accountability Committee and Water Privatization Task Force. Karen O'Donnell is a labor activist, former representative of her state legislature, and is also associated with the Sierra Club. This interview if 30 minutes long.

The SPP and Merging Military Command Structures

by Dana Gabriel

Global Research, June 18, 2008

www.opednews.com - 2008-05-06

Portions of the Civil Assistance Plan (CAP) signed by the U.S.-Canadian military in mid-February were just recently posted on the U.S. Northern Command (NORTHCOM) and Canada Command websites. The plan would allow for military from one nation to support the armed forces of the other nation during a civil emergency, including one that does not involve a cross-border crisis. Some fear that this agreement could lead to foreign troops being used for gun confiscation and marital law. CAP, along with the Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP), are further advancing the merging of U.S.-Canadian military command structures and represent steps towards a North American Union.

In 2002, then U.S. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, announced the creation of NORTHCOM, and boasted that it would have jurisdiction over all of North America. In an article by Michel Chossudovsky, he states the, “redesign of Canada’s defense system is being discussed behind closed doors, not in Canada, but at the Peterson Air Force base in Colorado, at the headquarters of US Northern Command (NORTHCOM).” He went on to say, “Under an integrated North American Command, a North American national security doctrine would be formulated.” In addition, this is taking place through the SPP and poses a serious threat to Canadian sovereignty and any resemblance of an independent foreign policy.

Saving and Expanding the SPP

The Fraser Institute, a Canadian think tank, recently published the report Saving the North American Security and Prosperity Partnership: The Case for a North American Regulatory Area. Not only do they want to save the SPP, but they wish to expand and speed up the process of deeper integration. This could include replacing the SPP with the North American Standards and Regulatory Area (NASRA). As if changing the name would alter its objectives and excuse the treasonous surrender of our sovereignty.

The problem with a North American Union is that it requires both Canada and the US to lower their standard of living to match that of Mexico.

Majority of Canadians Reject SPP and Deeper Integration

On the heels of the Leader Summit in New Orleans, the Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP) received some more bad news as the North American Union agenda appears to be on the ropes especially in Canada. A poll commissioned by the Council of Canadians reveals that the majority of the country wants the Conservative minority government to protect water, energy, and public regulations, and to back off on integration with the United States.

Saving and Expanding the SPP

By: Dana Gabriel - 17 April, 2008

Those pushing for a North American Union fully realize that the time might have come to pull the plug on the Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP) and replace it with something else. It’s hardly surprising that pro-SPP reports are being released ahead of the Leader Summit in New Orleans. This agenda is on the defensive and the timing of the reports is in an effort to shift public opinion and save the SPP.

Political Scientist and co-author of the report, Alexander Moen, acknowledges that NASRA would include further economic integration beyond free trade, but tries to ease concerns that it would not lead to political integration. The SPP is already merging our health, food safety, energy, and environmental regulations into a North American structure. If the SPP was the next step to NAFTA, why wouldn’t the next logical move be to expand from economic and security to include political integration using the European Union as the model?

Proponents of the SPP believe that it is misunderstood, and Moens said, “This confusion around what the SPP stands for has skewed public perception. Governments need to redefine the process and articulate specific goals for partnership.” He went on to say, “Somehow a combination of left-wing economic nationalists in Canada and right-wing protectionists in the US have turned the SPP into a supranationalist conspiracy theory.” The level of desperation to save the SPP has many still clinging to the North American Union as being a fabricated conspiracy. This is a blatant attempt to mislead and deceive the public.

The report also calls upon further expanding the role of business inside the SPP process. Stuart Trew of the Council of Canadians said, “These recommendations, put into government practice, would intensify the privatization of public policy envisioned in the SPP.” This would mean putting more power into the hands of unelected and unaccountable bureaucrats. First of all, a mandate from the people is required in order to proceed any further, and there should more public involvement and governmental accountability. All those involved need to be honest and open about the true intentions of the SPP.

The SPP has been a public relation’s nightmare and is unraveling. It may have outlived its usefulness under its current structure. Still, many wish to save, expand, and continue to use it as a vehicle to further advance a North American Union.

Leaders’ Summit on North American Relations Held in June

Interlocking superstates are the foundation for global government. Much like the formation of the European Union, a North American Union is being created incrementally. There are many different facets to North American integration and this deep-rooted agenda continues on many different fronts.

Harper to U.S.: don't forget who has the oil

NEW ORLEANS - Prime Minister Stephen Harper waved a red flag Tuesday in the debate over NAFTA's future, warning Americans who want to reopen the accord that U.S. dependence on Canadian oil gives Canada a big bargaining chip.

Harper staked out his position as he joined presidents George W. Bush of the United States and Felipe Calderon of Mexico at a joint news conference to end their three-way summit that turned into a pep rally for keeping NAFTA intact in the face of threats from the Democratic presidential contenders to kill or rewrite it.

Calderon said reopening the pact would "condemn the region to complete backwardness" while India, China and the European Union are increasing their competitiveness.
