Woman fired over 16-cent doughnut

Canada's largest doughnut chain fired a woman in London, Ontario, for giving a customer's toddler a 16-cent doughnut nugget for free.

Dear Tim Horton Donut company.

A 16 cent donut hole given to a child buys a lot of good will among customers. Call it cost of advertising.

FIRING an employee for giving a small child a donut in the store (we can assume the mother had made a purchase of some kind) is BAD FOR YOUR COMPANY IMAGE. There are no Tom Horton donut sops here in Hawaii, but if there were, they would join Best Buy as places I WILL NO LONGER GO INTO. I cannot abide by companies that place so much importance on a penny that they are blind to the fact that there are other aspects to running a business, like keeping customers happy.

I understand wanting to control losses. Those cops coming in for free donuts can get out of hand. But I would suggest a more reasonable policy is to simply tell employees that they must pay for anything they give out. I am certain the woman in question would not have minded the 16 cents at all.

Tim Hortons responds to firing of staff member

Unfortunately the action of the manager of this location was not appropriate nor grounds for dismissal. With an apology from management Ms. Lilliman has been rehired by the franchisee.

Mom gets job back

But even as a union official called, offering to represent her in a wrongful dismissal charge, and while outraged coffee drinkers were blasting Tims, Lilliman had been hired back on the company payroll.

No mere donut shop can stand up to the power of the blogs!!!!!! :)

The Slump: It's a Guy Thing

They eat from the same dishes and sleep in the same beds, but they seem to be operating in two different economies. From last November through this April, American women aged 20 and up gained nearly 300,000 jobs, according to the household survey of the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). At the same time, American men lost nearly 700,000 jobs. You might even say American men are in recession, and American women are not.

Feminism was sold to us on the promise of equality, but all it really did was create a new inequality.

CONTROVERSIAL DEATH MY EYE!

US police seen in kicking video

Folks, except for the uniforms, this looks just like the video we saw of drivers being pulled from their vehicles and stomped on during the Rodney King riots.

The Bumps under the Blanket and the Suicide Flu.

Sometimes it is hard to know what to talk about. You come to that point where you feel like you've talked about everything you could think of and you don't know where to go next. There's some kind of massive cleanup operation going on recently. A number of British policemen were found dead. A hooker and a madam wind up hung- the latter said she would never commit suicide. A CIA man gets shot to death by police. There's some kind of Danny Casolaro virus going around.

Four strange deaths UPDTAED!

Seth Tobias and Paul Gillmore and now Oleg Zhukovsky all found dead, two died in their own swimming pools with signs of torture but were rules suicides anyway. Then Andrei Kozlov, connected to the same bank as Oleg was shot and killed outside his office after speaking out about cleaning up corruption in Banking. Gillmore worked on the finance committee in the US congress. Tobias was a Hedge fund manager he knew who many of these "speculators" AKA insiders were from Goldman Sacs who were going to make it big on the sub-prime crash. It came to light that Tobias was also a frequent client to a male prostitution ring in Florida. And now we have the mysterious "suicide" of the DC Madam. Somebody sure is cleaning up their loose ends. When you break it down it seems to be a massive bribing for trades scandal with a ring of sex slaves going all the way back to Russia and Israel to the US.

We now know from toxicology reports that Seth Tobias had been drugged and Oleg Zhukovsky was tortured and zip cuffed. Ryan Dawson has the scoop on a not so secret underground sex slavery operation tagging both government and banking officials. Who is holding the system hostage through blackmail? All Roads lead too.... "Foreign country A"

Don Clark's Big Lie About Roland Carnaby

Apparently Carnaby's vehicle was disabled by the police in some manner or another or he just stopped. This point's a little unclear. What is clear is that the police were enraged and attempted to smash the front passenger window after the vehicle stopped. Carnaby was shot in the back while exiting the vehicle and then shot again in the chest by another officer. He was put in handcuffs and left on the road to die.

Do I still have your attention? Good. This is where you need it.

Man found in Lady Bird Lake was teacher, FBI target

Austin police said Thursday that they are leaning toward a ruling of suicide in the death of a middle school teacher and activist whose body was found Wednesday in Lady Bird Lake with his hands and legs bound and tape over his eyes.

Police identified Riad Hamad, 55, at a news conference Thursday and said the binding of his limbs and the placement of the tape was consistent with Hamad having done it himself.

Roland Carnaby

Roland Carnaby was shot dead by police after an hour-long car chase on April 29, 2008.

After two police officers stopped Carnaby for speeding, Caraby showed them CIA identification. The officers were unsure whether the ID was genuine. According to reports, Carnaby drove off when the officer discovered his concealed weapon license. After they managed to stop Carnaby's Jeep, the officers claim Carnaby made a sudden move and the officers opened fire. He died on his way to hospital.

Wayne Madsen is saying Houston has become a major ops base for Mossad, and weapons were planted in Carnaby's car AFTER it was impounded

ABC News Shielding Cheney after DC Madam Hanging?

One more point I wish to make. In the so-called "suicide notes" (now reported exposed as forgeries) mention is made of leaving jail penniless, yet we know that Palfrey owned a condo in Florida, PAID FOR (how many of us can claim that?) and had just finished making certain that the condo fees would be paid out of a special account during her absence.

Does that sound like she was expecting to come out of jail penniless?

Does that sound like a women without hope?

Palfrey Suicide: Wayne Madsen Goes On Record Against Cheney

Having seen this vast panoply of weirdness unfolding before our very eyes while creampuffs and lightweights like Matt Lauer and Brit Hume have made all the money -- perhaps Madsen has just had enough. Perhaps he is ready to be a hero. Or a martyr.

At any rate, our intrepid Wayne Madsen wanted our beloved Vice President, Richard "the Dick" Cheney to know that his dealings with Palfrey's escort agency in the 1990's weren't going to be forgotten.

Do you know what the difference between kinky and perverted is?

Kinky is using a feather to tickle your lover. Perverted is using the whole chicken.

The word is that Dick owns a chicken ranch!

9/11 Conspiracy Connection To DC Madam Murder

Former NSA analyst and Navy intelligence officer Wayne Madsen tells the The Alex Jones Show that one of the key motives behind the DC Madam's murder may have been the information her call girls picked up from Washington's top brass concerning foreknowledge and government complicity in the 9/11 attacks.

****Wayne Madsen Interrogated, Harrassed At Airport After DC Madam Controversy

It is now clear from a review of the events that unfolded that I was pre-selected for an intensive search and battery of questions even before arriving in line for the security screening. A Transportation Security Administration (TSA) screener was overheard saying, "the guy with the beard." Since I was the only person in line who also had a beard, it was evident that a red flag had earlier been raised.

Contrived Media Ploy As DC Madam Tape Ignored

"She wasn't going to jail, she told me that very clearly. She told me she would commit suicide," Dan Moldea told Time Magazine. "She had done time once before [for prostitution]," Moldea recalls. "And it damn near killed her. She said there was enormous stress -- it made her sick, she couldn't take it, and she wasn't going to let that happen to her again."

Of course, Moldea never got this alleged "quote" on tape, as a truly responsible journalist would have done.

And we are to believe him just because he is making this claim?

Rational people wouldn't, because they understand that he has utterly no basis in fact for these statements.

What we do have on tape is the absolute opposite of what he has claimed, period, end of discussion.

And unfortunately, this is what passes for "responsible journalism" in the so-called main stream media these days.

Media outlets simply hire people to bend, or distort the truth, (or outright lie) to place their favored "spin" on any topic or event, then feed that as the truth to their audience.

LISTEN to Deborah Palfrey, the so-called D.C. Madam, who tells Alex Jones she would never commit suicide!

WASHINGTON BREATHES BIG SIGH OF RELIEF
In an interview last year, Palfrey vowed to fight the federal prosecutors who brought the charges against her. "They just destroy you on every level, financially, emotionally, psychologically," she said, but still she refused to accept any deal they offered. The Audio interview is with Alex Jones

The Palfrey-Cheney Connection

Palfrey believed her life could be in danger, and stated that it would not be suicide if she were found dead; she said so on a radio program along with implicating that the VP himself, and other extremely powerful, high-profile men in Washington were clients.

Is it possible that facing of a 55-year sentence, Ms. Palfrey was going to do some talking, in hopes of a reduced sentence? Were some persons concerned that an angry or vindictive Palfrey might write tell-all?

D.C. madam's mystery death: The Orlando connection

On Thursday, Palfrey was found dead, hanging by a nylon rope from a metal beam in a backyard shed near her mother's home in Tarpon Springs, on the coast 100 miles west of Orlando. Police said it was an apparent suicide.

"It's hard to believe," said Joseph Strizack, a condominium-association manager at Park Lake Towers who got to know Palfrey during her decade as an owner there. "She did not seem the least bit distraught."

Okay, so let me get this straight, Palfrey went to visit her mother, then decided to commit suicide at Mom's place?!?!?!?

FLASHBACK: DC Madam hookergate expands beyond Cheney & ABC to Maryland Governor, US Attorney, murder

Hookergate involves fired US Attorney. US District Judge for the District of Columbia Gladys Kessler, a Clinton appointee, has re-issued an order prohibiting DC Madam Deborah Jeane Palfrey from releasing any more phone lists of her Pamela Martin & Associates customers. Secrecy of the phone records has been a priority for DC Assistant US Attorney William Cowden.

Since Palfrey was headed to jail anyway, she had little to lose by releasing the rest of her client lists in her planned book.

Police: Woman believed to be 'D.C. madam' kills herself

Palfrey was convicted April 15 by a federal jury of running a prostitution service that catered to members of Washington's political elite.

*****Biofuels 'crime against humanity'

A United Nations expert has condemned the growing use of crops to produce biofuels as a replacement for petrol as a crime against humanity.

Man-made crisis pushing 100m into poverty: WB

The World Bank chief warned on Tuesday that 100 million people have already been pushed into poverty due to a man-made food crisis while as many as two billion are on the verge of disaster.

"This is not a natural disaster," said Robert B. Zoellick, president of the World Bank. "Make no mistake; there is nothing natural about this. But for millions of people it is a disaster."

Multinationals make billions in profit out of growing global food crisis

Giant agribusinesses are enjoying soaring earnings and profits out of the world food crisis which is driving millions of people towards starvation, The Independent on Sunday can reveal. And speculation is helping to drive the prices of basic foodstuffs out of the reach of the hungry.

The prices of wheat, corn and rice have soared over the past year driving the world's poor – who already spend about 80 per cent of their income on food – into hunger and destitution.

The World Bank says that 100 million more people are facing severe hunger. Yet some of the world's richest food companies are making record profits. Monsanto last month reported that its net income for the three months up to the end of February this year had more than doubled over the same period in 2007, from $543m275m) to $1.12bn. Its profits increased from $1.44bn to $2.22bn.

Cargill's net earnings soared by 86 per cent from $553m to $1.030bn over the same three months. And Archer Daniels Midland, one of the world's largest agricultural processors of soy, corn and wheat, increased its net earnings by 42 per cent in the first three months of this year from $363m to $517m. The operating profit of its grains merchandising and handling operations jumped 16-fold from $21m to $341m.

Similarly, the Mosaic Company, one of the world's largest fertiliser companies, saw its income for the three months ending 29 February rise more than 12-fold, from $42.2m to $520.8m, on the back of a shortage of fertiliser. The prices of some kinds of fertiliser have more than tripled over the past year as demand has outstripped supply. As a result, plans to increase harvests in developing countries have been hit hard.

How the rich starved the world

World cereal stocks are at an all-time low, food-aid programmes have run out of money and millions face starvation. Yet wealthy countries persist with plans to use grain for petrol.

Well, Ted Turner has a solution! If you are not rich, kindly kill yourself!

Corn Futures Advance to Record as Weather Delays U.S. Planting

Corn futures in Chicago climbed to a record on supply concerns after a government report showed farmers in the U.S., the world's biggest producer, had planted only half as much as a year ago because of cold, wet weather.

Well, here is a double body-blow to the global warming people, first because it is the COLD weather than is the problem here and because their much vaunted biofuels program eroded away the safety margins in US corn production which would have made it far easier to survive a shortage.

Riots, instability spread as food prices skyrocket

Grain prices up 120%; hungry people riot all over the world!

India considers ban on trading in food futures

India's finance minister said on Monday he was considering a blanket ban on trading in food futures, underlying growing concerns in Asia over the role of hedge funds and financial market traders in the recent surge in commodities prices.

Food vs fuel debate shakes Canadian breadbasket

"None of that has worked," said Boyle. "I just don't think they're willing to take the risk. They're used to selling food and so when prices go up, they go back to that."

This, say biofuel defenders, means market economics is naturally determining whether grain is needed for food primarily or not. This, they say, should quell alarmist fears that biofuels will provoke higher prices globally and more hunger in developing countries.

"The price of food has gone up, and producers will produce if the prices go up," Judie Dyck, president of the Saskatchewan Biofuels Development Council, told FoodNavigator-USA.

Judie's comment betrays a terrible ignorance. There is only so much land and only so much that can be taken form the land. Existing farms are already working at maximum capacity. Producers cannot simply produce more to meet increased demand. Farms do not work that way.

But Judie, like many in "the cult", doesn't think these things all the way through. They get sold an idea in the media, they are told it is a great idea and they accept it as a matter of faith, oblivious to the fact that everything they do has to have a consequence.

The food crisis we are in is a direct result of the theory that crops can be converted to fuel for cars, coupled with an assumption (and we know what "assume" means) that the farm land to grow those crops would simply appear out of thin air.

Needless to say, it didn't work. And in "politicking" a solution to a problem that did not exist in the first place, "the cult" has triggered a real human crisis, as seen in places like Haiti.

An entire village turns against supermarkets and grows its own food

"They can;t do that!!! They are not ALLOWED to do that!!!" -- ConAgraMonsanAmalgamated

Finance Ministers Emphasize Food Crisis Over Credit Crisis

Haiti was the warning shot. Left to itself, the food crisis will bring down governments, and the new governments that replace them may not honor debts to the World Bank. So, in order to protect those loans, now we will see a scramble to alleviate the starvation around the world.

... Except Palestine, of course.

Food Shortages, Creating import dependent states.

Brilliant idea. While there is a food shortage for billions of people, convert food into fuel even though at the root it is still using fossil fuels like coal to make it. It's OK just claim global warming (theory) as the rationalization, don't let global starvation (fact) stand in the way.

Food and energy costs lead wholesale prices to soar in March

Inflation at the wholesale level soared in March at nearly triple the rate that had been expected as the costs of energy and food both climbed rapidly.

Rice Futures Tumble in Chicago as U.S. Crop Sowing Accelerates

Rice futures in Chicago plunged the most in three weeks after a government report showed planting of the U.S. crop accelerated last week, easing concern that global demand will outstrip supply.

The food crisis begins to bite

Rioting in Haiti. Rationing in America. Queues in Egypt. Protests in Afghanistan. As the price of food continues to soar, the impact is being felt by people around the globe

"But we have all this lovely ethanol to put in your gas tank! And we're sorry it melts the hoses and gaskets, but we really had good intentions!"

Emptying the breadbasket

Half a continent away, in the North Dakota country that grows the high-quality wheats used in Fleishman's bagels, many farmers are cutting back on growing wheat in favor of more profitable, less disease-prone corn and soybeans for ethanol refineries and Asian consumers.

Wheat Crop Failures Could be Total, Experts Warn

On top of record-breaking rice prices and corn through the roof on ethanol demand, wheat is now rusting in the fields across Africa.

Officials fear near total crop losses, and the fungus, known as Ug99, is spreading.

"It's Al Qaeda!" -- Official White Horse Souse

Seriously, look at all the trillions of tax dollars wasted chasing after Iraq's non-existent 'nookular' bombs.

Where did that money come from? Well, Bush borrowed a lot of it., but he got the rest CUTTING THE DOMESTIC BUDGET. That means no money to repair levees, no money to inspect bridges, no money to clear up dead brush in California, etc.

Tons of money was spent trying to "promote" global warming at the expense of the less glamorous task of protecting our food supply from calamity.

UN alert: One-fourth of world's wheat at risk from new fungus

The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) warned in March that Iran had detected a new highly pathogenic strain of wheat stem rust called Ug99.

In lean times, biotech grains are less taboo

Reuters

Soaring food prices and global grain shortages are bringing new pressures on governments, food companies and consumers to relax their longstanding resistance to genetically engineered crops.

Which is odd, since the latest studies show that GM crops produce LESS food than their natural counterparts.

Major new study shows that modified soya produces 10 per cent less food than its conventional equivalent

Genetic modification actually cuts the productivity of crops, an authoritative new study shows, undermining repeated claims that a switch to the controversial technology is needed to solve the growing world food crisis.

Last week the biggest study of its kind ever conducted - the International Assessment of Agricultural Science and Technology for Development - concluded that GM was not the answer to world hunger

Genetic modification actually cuts the productivity of crops, an authoritative new study shows, undermining repeated claims that a switch to the controversial technology is needed to solve the growing world food crisis.

The study – carried out over the past three years at the University of Kansas in the US grain belt – has found that GM soya produces about 10 per cent less food than its conventional equivalent, contradicting assertions by advocates of the technology that it increases yields.

And we only had to kill a lot of the bees to find this out.

Japan's hunger becomes a dire warning for other nations

While soaring food prices have triggered rioting among the starving millions of the third world, in wealthy Japan they have forced a pampered population to contemplate the shocking possibility of a long-term -- perhaps permanent -- reduction in the quality and quantity of its food.

A 130% rise in the global cost of wheat in the past year, caused partly by surging demand from China and India and a huge injection of speculative funds into wheat futures, has forced the Government to hit flour millers with three rounds of stiff mark-ups. The latest -- a 30% increase this month -- has given rise to speculation that Japan, which relies on imports for 90% of its annual wheat consumption, is no longer on the brink of a food crisis, but has fallen off the cliff.

Changements climatiques

Climate change confirmed but global warming is cancelled

In December last year, at the UN conference in Bali, I heard Viscount Monckton present a paper prepared by himself, the Australian Dr David Evans and our own Dr Vincent Gray (who were at Bali, too) that showed while the IPCC models predict that greenhouse gases would produce an extensive "hot spot" in the upper troposphere over the tropics, the satellite measurements show no such hotspots have appeared.

Monckton and Evans found a large part of this discrepancy is the result of some basic errors in the IPCC's assessment of the Stefan-Boltzmann equation. When they applied their revised factor to the effect of greenhouse gases, the temperature rise was about a third of that predicted by the IPCC.

Ocean Cooling to Briefly Halt Global Warming, Researchers Say

By Jim Efstathiou Jr.

April 30 (Bloomberg) -- Parts of North America and Europe may cool naturally over the next decade, as shifting ocean currents temporarily blunt the global-warming effect caused by mankind, Germany's Leibniz Institute of Marine Sciences said.

Average temperatures in areas such as California and France may drop over the next 10 years, influenced by colder flows in the North Atlantic, said a report today by the institution based in Kiel, Germany. Temperatures worldwide may stabilize in the period.

The study was based on sea-surface temperatures of currents that move heat around the world, and vary from decade to decade. This regional cooling effect may temporarily neutralize the long- term warming phenomenon caused by heat-trapping greenhouse gases building up around the earth, said Richard Wood, a research scientist at the Met Office Hadley Centre, a U.K. provider of environmental and weather-related services.

Globe may be cooling on Global Warming

"Disconcerting as it may be to true believers in global warming, the average temperature on Earth has remained steady or slowly declined during the past decade, despite the continued increase in the atmospheric concentration of carbon dioxide, and now the global temperature is falling precipitously." Dr. Phil Chapman wrote in The Australian on April 23. "All those urging action to curb global warming need to take off the blinkers and give some thought to what we should do if we are facing global cooling instead."

What should we do? Stop listening to politicians who take what nature does NATURALLY and turn it into a crisis requiring our money and obedience to "solve."

NASA satellites found that last winter's Arctic Sea ice covered 2 million square kilometers (772,000 square miles) more than the last three years' average. It also was 10 to 20 centimeters (about 4-8 inches) thicker than in 2007. The ice between Canada and southwest Greenland also spread dramatically. "We have to go back 15 years to find ice expansion so far south," Denmark's Meteorological Institute stated.

"Snows Return to Mount Kilimanjaro," cheered a January 21 International Herald Tribune headline, as Africa also defies the "warming" narrative.

While neither anecdotes nor one year's statistics confirm global cooling, a decade of data contradicts the "melting planet" rhetoric that heats Capitol Hill and America's newsrooms.

"The University of Alabama-Huntsville's analysis of data from satellites launched in 1979 showed a warming trend of 0.14 degrees Centigrade (0.25 Fahrenheit) per decade," Joseph D'Aleo, the Weather Channel's first Director of Meteorology, told me. "This warmth peaked in 1998, and the temperature trend the last decade has been flat, even as CO2 has increased 5.5 percent. Cooling began in 2002. Over the last six years, global temperatures from satellite and land-temperature gauges have cooled (-0.14 F and -0.22 F, respectively). Ocean buoys have echoed that slight cooling since the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration deployed them in 2003."

These researchers are not alone. They are among a rising tide of scientists who question the so-called "global warming" theory. Some further argue that global cooling merits urgent concern.

"In stark contrast to the often repeated assertion that the science of climate change is 'settled,' significant new peer-reviewed research has cast even more doubt on the hypothesis of dangerous human-caused global warming," 100 prestigious geologists, physicists, meteorologists, and other scientists wrote United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon last December. They also noted "today's computer models cannot predict climate. Consistent with this, and despite computer projections of temperature rises, there has been no net global warming since 1998."

In a December 2007 Senate Environment and Public Works Committee minority-staff report, some 400 scientists -- from such respected institutions as Princeton, the National Academy of Sciences, the University of London, and Paris' Pasteur Institute -- declared their independence from the pro-warming "conventional wisdom."

"Not CO2, but water vapor is the most important greenhouse gas," asserted climatologist Luc Debontridder of Belgium's Royal Meteorological Institute. "It is responsible for at least 75 percent of the greenhouse effect. This is a simple scientific fact, but Al Gore's movie has hyped CO2 so much that nobody seems to take note of it."

AccuWeather's Expert Senior Forecaster Joe Bastardi has stated: "People are concerned that 50 years from now, it will be warm beyond a point of no return. My concern is almost opposite, that it's cold and getting colder."

And on Wednesday, the respected journal, Nature, indicated that Earth's climactic cycles have stopped global warming through 2015.

Global warming may 'stop', scientists predict

Global warming will stop until at least 2015 because of natural variations in the climate, scientists have said.

Researchers studying long-term changes in sea temperatures said they now expect a "lull" for up to a decade while natural variations in climate cancel out the increases caused by man-made greenhouse gas emissions.

The average temperature of the sea around Europe and North America is expected to cool slightly over the decade while the tropical Pacific remains unchanged.

This would mean that the 0.3°C global average temperature rise which has been predicted for the next decade by the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change may not happen, according to the paper published in the scientific journal Nature.

However, the effect of rising fossil fuel emissions will mean that warming will accelerate again after 2015 when natural trends in the oceans veer back towards warming, according to the computer model.

Noel Keenlyside of the Leibniz Institute of Marine Sciences, Kiel, Germany, said: "The IPCC would predict a 0.3°C warming over the next decade. Our prediction is that there will be no warming until 2015 but it will pick up after that."

He stressed that the results were just the initial findings from a new computer model of how the oceans behave over decades and it would be wholly misleading to infer that global warming, in the sense of the enhanced greenhouse effect from increased carbon emissions, had gone away.

The IPCC currently does not include in its models actual records of such events as the strength of the Gulf Stream and the El Nino cyclical warming event in the Pacific, which are known to have been behind the warmest year ever recorded in 1998.

"So, never mind the cold weather, global warming is still real and you better pay that carbon-tax and do what we tell you to do or YOU'RE ALL GONNA DIE HORRIBLE PAINFUL DEATHS AND BURN IN HECK FOREVER!!!!!"

Global Cooling Slows Global Warming

This appears to be a cover to me. Scientists are now predicting a cooling period over the next ten years. This natural cooling period will counter the man-made warming. Do you see the covering of all the bases that is going on here? Because the earth is beginning to go into a cooling period, scientists hoping to hold onto their global warming grants are now beginning to cover their asses.

Parts of North America and Europe may cool naturally over the next decade, as
shifting ocean currents temporarily blunt the global-warming effect caused by
mankind

Not only this but we are supposed to believe that the earth is still warming even as it cools.

Those natural climate variations could be stronger than the global-warming trend
over the next 10-year period,” Wood said in an interview. “Without knowing that,
you might erroneously think there’s no global warming going on.”

If we don’t experience warming over the next 10 years, it doesn’t mean that
greenhouse-gas warming is not with us,” Keenlyside said in an interview. “There
can be natural fluctuations that may mask climate change in the short term

Let me get this right, the earth is still warming, it is just cooling faster than it is warming. We are also just supposed to believe that the cooling is natural while the warming isn’t. How stupid do these people think we are? The earth goes through natural cooling and heating periods. PERIOD!

Let us just pretend for one moment that man-made global warming exists. If the earth is going to start naturally cooling, while man is causing the earth to heat, then don’t we owe it to the planet to keep on warming the earth. Without man-made global warming during this cooling period wouldn’t we be headed to another ice age?

Just one more question. If the earth is warming how is it possible for the oceans to be cooling in the first place? Shouldn’t the oceans be warming also? Okay, so that was two more questions. I can’t help it. The more that we hear about this subject, the more absurd it becomes. Scientists will do and say anything to protect their grant money. Politicians will also do or say anything to guilt people into paying more “green” taxes.

We are now told to believe that if the earth cools over the next decade that it doesn’t mean the warming has ended. It sounds like a cover to me.

Global Warming Petition

We urge the United States government to reject the global warming agreement that was written in Kyoto, Japan in December, 1997, and any other similar proposals. The proposed limits on greenhouse gases would harm the environment, hinder the advance of science and technology, and damage the health and welfare of mankind.

There is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gasses is causing or will, in the foreseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the Earth's atmosphere and disruption of the Earth's climate. Moreover, there is substantial scientific evidence that increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide produce many beneficial effects upon the natural plant and animal environments of the Earth.

This petition has been signed by over 19,000 American scientists. Click here to sign a mail-in copy of this petition.
It cannot be signed by Internet.

Letter from Frederick Seitz

Research Review of Global Warming Evidence

Enclosed is a twelve-page review of information on the subject of "global warming," a petition in the form of a reply card, and a return envelope. Please consider these materials carefully.

The United States is very close to adopting an international agreement that would ration the use of energy and of technologies that depend upon coal, oil, and natural gas and some other organic compounds.

This treaty is, in our opinion, based upon flawed ideas. Research data on climate change do not show that human use of hydrocarbons is harmful. To the contrary, there is good evidence that increased atmospheric carbon dioxide is environmentally helpful.

Environmental Effects of Increased Atmospheric Carbon Dioxide

A review of the research literature concerning the environmental consequences of increased levels of atmospheric carbon dioxide leads to the conclusion that increases during the 20th Century have produced no deleterious effects upon global weather, climate, or temperature. Increased carbon dioxide has, however, markedly increased plant growth rates. Predictions of harmful climatic effects due to future increases in minor greenhouse gases like CO2 are in error and do not conform to current experimental knowledge.

Note: The Petition Project has no funding from energy industries or other parties with special financial interests in the "global warming" debate. Funding for the project comes entirely from private non-tax deductible donations by interested individuals.

OFFICIAL: Global warming mistakes have been made

The IPCC's computer models, used to predict the effects of global warming, it appears, failed to accurately predict the influence that water vapour has on the temperature of the earth. At the global climate change summit in Bali late last year, Dr Roy Spencer presented a paper to the IPCC, saying that rather than CO2 driving the formation of water vapour, which then drives up temperatures as a greenhouse gas, water vapour actually washes excess CO2 out of the atmosphere, dampening and balancing its affect as a greenhouse gas. This discovery was made thanks to weather satellites that showed water vapour forms a lot lower in the atmosphere than was initially suggested. Shock horror, the finely balanced system that is the global ecosystem is able to keep itself in balance... who'd have thought it?!

A far more thorough summary is available in Owen McShane's column in the National Business Review (click here), which contains gems like this quote: "The delusion that by recycling and catching public transport we can help save the planet will quickly come to be seen for the childish nonsense it was all along."

Climate facts to warm to

Duffy asked Marohasy: "Is the Earth still warming?"

She replied: "No, actually, there has been cooling, if you take 1998 as your point of reference. If you take 2002 as your point of reference, then temperatures have plateaued. This is certainly not what you'd expect if carbon dioxide is driving temperature because carbon dioxide levels have been increasing but temperatures have actually been coming down over the last 10 years."

Weather Service: Whitest Easter in Detroit in decades

Already digging out from a storm that buried the state under up to 10 inches of snow near the Ohio border, forecasters are predicting a chance of snow showers Sunday across most of the Lower Peninsula and the western Upper Peninsula.

The weekly meeting of the first church of global warming has been canceled due to ice.

Perhaps The Climate Change Models Are Wrong

When they were first deployed in 2003, the Argos were hailed for their ability to collect information on ocean conditions more precisely, at more places and greater depths and in more conditions than ever before. No longer would scientists have to rely on measurements mostly at the surface from older scientific buoys or inconsistent shipboard monitors.

So why are some scientists now beginning to question the buoys' findings? Because in five years, the little blighters have failed to detect any global warming. They are not reinforcing the scientific orthodoxy of the day, namely that man is causing the planet to warm dangerously. They are not proving the predetermined conclusions of their human masters. Therefore they, and not their masters' hypotheses, must be wrong.

Fishing opener on ice for some MN lakes

For anglers it's what separates heaven from nirvana. Ice too thin for a fish house, too thick for a boat.

"You're looking at a lot of ice out there," says Leech Lake resort owner Roy Huddle. One day from the fishing opener, Huddle is still missing his lake.

"But, but, but, Saint Al of the Gore said we would see boiling steam by mid-May if we didn;t all pay zillions of dollars in carbon taxes!!!!"

Al Gore And Climate Ka-Ching

So why the hype? Well, global warming is a growth industry designed to keep Earth and some bank accounts green.

Gore himself joined the venture capital group, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers just last September. On May 1, the firm announced a $500 million investment in maturing green technology firms called the Green Growth Fund.

The group announced another $700 million to be invested over the next three years in green-tech startup firms. But if the green technology business, uh, cools down, there will be no return on that investment. There would be no need for such investments if global warming wasn't a threat. So Gore just launched, among other things, a $300 million on an ad campaign to convince us it is so.

UN chief calls for review of biofuels policy

The UN secretary-general, Ban Ki-moon, has called for a comprehensive review of the policy on biofuels as a crisis in global food prices - partly caused by the increasing use of crops for energy generation - threatens to trigger global instability.

Ethanol fuel is not so green

It is not green, it is not economically viable, and any move to mandate its inclusion in fuel would have enormous repercussions for other sectors of Australian industry. It is something of a relief, therefore, to read a just-released parliamentary research paper on the economic effects of an ethanol mandate.

The paper concludes that "no prima facie economic case for a mandate has been established".

And making ethanol is a hungry process. It requires some 200kg of corn to produce between 90 and 100 litres of ethanol, enough to fill the fuel tank of a typical four-wheel-drive vehicle. That same amount of corn could supply enough calories to feed a person for a year.

Corn has doubled in price in the past two years, while stockpiles have shrunk alarmingly. As ABN Amro Morgans chief economist Michael Knox put it so well recently: "Part of this increased (grain) consumption comes from turning corn into fodder for automobiles. This is the dumbest idea that politicians have produced this century."

BBC Caught Editing Story To Appease Global Warming Lobbyist

The BBC has sensationally been caught red-handed editing a news story about global warming in order to appease a rhetorical e mail sent by an environmental activist, while it has also emerged that BBC writers are aware of the growing suspicions about apparent attempts to censor skeptics of man-made global warming.

Recipe for Catastrophe: Climate, Fuel, and Food

This didn't start with the current economic crisis which comes with the so-called "mortgage crisis." It doesn't start with the recent sky rocketing increase in oil and gasoline. It started with the U.S. turn to bio-fuels production. It has been accelerated by multiple other issues.

The U.S. bio-fuels incentives put not just the U.S. food supply, but the global food supply, in competition with the fuel supply. Farmers (and corporate agriculture) in the U.S. took much of the corn crop to the refinery rather than to the food processing plants. Most of the food price increases seen in the U.S up until about a month ago were due solely to this shift.

Thanks a lot global-warmers. You took a non-existent danger built on selective data, tried to sell a tax agenda with it, and created a real human catastrophe in the process.

"Triggered global starvation" Imagine how that will look on your resume! Who is going to hire you now? I sure as hell won't!

Scientists Unveil High-Res Map of the U.S. Carbon Footprint

And, since all animals exhale carbon dioxide, no surprise that the map shows higher levels of carbon dioxide where there is a higher concentration of living things.

But as property values are salaries drop, count on the government at all levels, which does NOT want to have to learn to get by with less like those of us living in the real world, will jump onto the global warming tax bandwagon, claim that the expected and obvious result of higher carbon dioxide where there are concentrations of animal life as proof of our "guilt", followed by calls for taxes to "correct" the "problem" to shore up their sagging revenues.

Wise leaders try to make the entire country prosperous. Poor leaders only worry about making themselves prosperous. We are cursed with the latter.

The tree has rewritten the history of the climate in the region, revealing that it was much warmer at that time and the ice had disappeared earlier than thought.

Previously, pine trees in North America were thought to be the oldest, at around 5,000 years old.

But Swedish scientists report that in the mountains, from Lapland in the north to Dalarna in central Sweden, there are much more ancient spruce trees (Picea abies).

Prof Leif Kullman at Umeå University and colleagues found a cluster of around 20 spruces that are over 8,000 years old.

BEWARE THE TRASH-BIN POLICE!!!!!!!

Bin Brother is Watching You.

About 500,000 trash bins across England has been fitted with an electronic bug that monitor the homeowner’s waste disposal habits

With his rubbish collected only once a fortnight, Gareth Corkhill's wheelie bin was so full the lid wouldn't shut.

And for that, the father of four finds himself with a criminal record.

Magistrates convicted the 26-year-old bus driver after hearing evidence that the lid was four inches ajar, which is against rules to stop bins overflowing.

Four inches too far: Gareth Corkhill with wife Claire and son Josh

He was ordered to pay £210 - a week's wages - after he declined to pay an on-the-spot fine imposed by the local council's bin police, who visited him wearing stab-proof vests and carrying photographic evidence of his crime.

To add insult to injury he was told to pay a £15 victim surcharge to help victims of violence - despite there being no victim - and threatened with prison if he failed to pay.

Rapists, murderers and other violent criminals who have earned a jail sentence rather than a fine are immune from the penalty.

Yesterday the council, Copeland in Cumbria, said that Mr Corkhill's family had caused problems for "the battle to reduce waste".

His penalty compares with the typical on-the-spot fine of £80 given to shoplifters - even repeat offenders.

Next - "Kill-Yourself-For-The-Earth Day"

Organized by the elite World Wildlife Fund, "Earth Hour" was a psy-op designed to remind us we are a burden on the ecosystem. The event was organized by an elite who represent one percent of the world's population yet own over 40% of the resources.

From the elite perspective, we're superfluous- the real message of 'Earth Hour."

Have they ever done anything to celebrate human life?

If we are energy challenged, it is because the Illuminati banking cartel has been suppressing non-polluting free-energy technology for almost a century. At the same time, this cartel has been fomenting wasteful and tragic wars.

A MODEST PROPOSAL

If people feel they are such a burden, why not kill themselves? Is there a more effective way to say you care about the planet? Erase your "carbon footprint" altogether.

We will need some time to get our affairs in order, and say our goodbyes, but perhaps next Spring, the World Wildlife Fund could sponsor a "Kill-Yourself-for-the-Earth Day." Families, companies, cities and countries could offer sacrifices to the Environmental God. With proper promotion, millions might volunteer.

Why dither with symbolic gestures when we can make a real difference?

As former US vice-president Al Gore said last year in accepting the Nobel Peace Prize: "We are what is wrong and we must make it right!"

No, Al Gore. You and your Illuminati henchmen are the problem. Please consider my modest proposal.

Ted Turner Wants You Dead To Save The Planet

Ted Turner the largest U.S. land owner and wealthy media mogul has stated yet again during a PBS interview with Charlie Rose that the world's population needs to be reduced. Turner also used the interview as an opportunity to continue the non stop irrational fear mongering of global warming. He stated that if something isn't done about global warming that people would soon be forced to resort to cannibalism. Turner also stated that he believes that global warming is directly related to the fact that there are too many people on the planet using too much stuff. Therefore, to fight global warming you'd need to have a dramatic reduction in population.

Eco Group Calls For "Voluntary Human Extinction"

There is a lot of self-hate in the radical environmentalist movement.

Setting that aside, there is a fundamental problem with this approach. The people most willing to make such a sacrifice for the good of the whole world are the very ones you would WANT to encourage to have (and teach) offspring. It's the ones least likely to voluntarily curb their instincts that are the problem.

Oil hits record high of $126 a barrel ahead of summer driving season

Oil rose above $126 a barrel for the first time Friday, bringing its advance this week to nearly $10, as investors questioned whether a possible confrontation between the U.S. and Venezuela could cut exports from the OPEC member.

Many analysts believe the dollar’s protracted decline has much to do with the doubling in oil prices since this time last year. Another school of thought thinks tight global supplies of oil, driven by growing demand in countries such as China, Brazil and India, is the primary factor driving oil higher.

£7bn profit for oil giants as £5 gallon arrives

BP and Shell fuelled the anger of UK motorists today after the two firms racked up combined profits of more than £7 billion in three months.

Oil speculators push price to £5 gallon

Petrol is likely to hit £5 a gallon today as "hot money" from speculators drives the oil price to record levels.

Lehman Brothers, the investment bank, has estimated that fuel is 30 per cent overpriced because of an influx of money into the oil market from investment funds.

Exxon posts $10.9 billion profit

Bolstered by record crude oil prices, Exxon Mobil Corp. yesterday reported huge first-quarter profits and fueled new congressional vows to come up with legislation that would tax windfall profits or demonstrate concern about high gasoline prices.

The oil giant earned $10.9 billion in profits, up 17 percent from the previous year. The amount was short of the all-time record Exxon set the previous quarter but high enough to put it on the defensive amid consumer ire and congressional indignation.

Enron Schemes Caught On Tape
2005-02-03, CBS News

During the West Coast Power crisis homes went dark and streetlights were out ... causing injuries and accidents. But the danger didn't stop Enron's energy traders from having a good laugh. CBS ... reports on the Enron scheme, as caught on new audio tape. The traders and plant operator laugh and plot in a display that seems to prove the theory that years before the energy crisis, Enron manipulated markets. "They had to do a rolling blackout through the town and there was a red light there he didn't see," one Enron trader says on tape. "That's beautiful," a second voice responds. The new tapes ... confirm what CBS News has been reporting for four years: That Enron secretly shut power plants down so they could cause, and then cash in on, the crisis. "We want you guys to get a little creative..." one voice says on the tape, "and come up with a reason to go down." Plant operators were coached on how to lie to officials. "Just call 'em, Hey guys…we're coming down," one Enron trader says. The plant operator replies, "OK, so we're just comin' down for some maintenance?" "Right," the trader says. "And that's cool?" the plant operator asks. "Hopefully," the trader responds, to which the men are heard laughing. Enron also pulled power out of states like California, causing emergency conditions to worsen. The "shut downs" and "pull outs" triggered sky high power prices. "We're just making money hand over fist!" one voice is heard saying on the tape. And when states complained, the guys at Enron seemed to have a response. "Get a f****** clue," one says. "Yeah," another chimes in. "Leave us alone. Let us make a little bit of money."

Refiners Maintain a Firm but Legal Grip on Supplies
2005-06-18, Los Angeles Times

California refiners are simply cashing in on a system that allows a handful of players to keep prices high by carefully controlling supplies. The result is a kind of miracle market in which profits abound, outsiders can't compete and a dwindling cadre of gas station operators has little choice but go along. Refiners "not only control how much supply is in the marketplace, they control who gets it and at what price," said Dennis DeCota, executive director of the California Service Station and Automotive Repair Assn. The recent history of California's fuel industry is a textbook case of how a once-competitive business can become skewed to the advantage of a few, all with the federal government's blessing. Refiners acknowledge their CaliforniaCalifornia — specialty fuels, a refinery shortage, the growing dominance of a few companies — have begun to plague other gasoline markets. businesses have become the most profitable in the nation.
