A report coming out of the Los Angeles Times and citing US and Yemeni officials appears to confirm widely-voiced suspicions that the latest supposed "underwear bomb" plot was little more than a contrived threat - the potential Al Qaeda bomber was actually, it seems, a CIA informant...
The LA Times reports how the informant, working under the direction of Saudi Arabian intelligence and the CIA, posed as a would-be suicide bomber in an attempt to persuade Yemeni bombmakers to provide him with a "new kind of non-metallic bomb that the militants were designing to easily pass through airport security".

The double agent instead arranged for the explosive device to be delivered to US intelligence agents in Yemen, and he is now out of the country and being debriefed. The bomb is reportedly currently being analysed at an FBI laboratory.

Yet again the scepticism of the alternative media - including ResistRadio.com - towards another apparent terror plot, appears to have been wholly justified.

The news stories, which quickly surface, long enough to cause scary headlines, then vanish before people can learn how often the cases are thrown out. These are stories about "bumbling fantasists", hapless druggies, the aimless, even the virtually homeless and mentally ill, and other marginal characters with not the strongest grip on reality, who have been lured into discourses about violence against America only after assiduous courting, and in some cases outright payment, by undercover FBI or police informants.
They have become a litany in recent years. The terrifying 2003-2004 national news stories that a Detroit "sleeper cell" had sent Muslim terrorists to blow up Disneyland and other landmarks, including in Las Vegas, was later thrown out of court, with accusations of prosecutorial misconduct, to almost no press attention – the same cycle of hype and failed convictions that have characterized many such stories. The evidence had included a home video taken in Disneyland, "doodles", and a guy with a credit card fraud problem, who had been pressured to diminish his own sentence by accusing his buddies.
But the tales of entrapment and terror hype continue apace – ten years after 9/11.
Now we have another "underwear bomber" – declared by the Pentagon to have been about to launch a major attack via a US-bound plane, but who appears, reportedly, to have been a CIA-run double agent. What is the evidence that the "device", which is supposedly so sophisticated that there is doubt as to whether existing surveillance technologies in US airports would have caught it, actually exists? As with so many of these stories, we have no independent verification – because reporters from the British Daily Telegraph, to Reuters, to the Huffington Post are simply taking dictation from New York Representative Peter King and from the Pentagon, and scarcely asking for backup evidence of their elaborate assertions.
It is important to note that we can no longer assume that the FBI and the CIA and the NSA work, first of all, for the safety of the American people; they also now represent a revolving door of government officials who become security industry lobbyists and manufacturers, which, in turn, get the multimillion-dollar contracts for tackling the very problems these stories appear to highlight. The stories about the first "underwear bomber" preceded the rollout of former DHS chief Michael Chertoff's costly scanners; the press interviews for this round of mystery "underwear bomber" stories are practically a press release for some expensive technological upgrade – or yet more hellishly invasive and demeaning search technique. The sad truth is that we can no longer report and consume such stories as if there were no commercial vested interests involved in creating and sustaining such "terror theater".
The security industrial complex continues to expand exponentially in this country, enabled by such legislation as the Homeland Security Act, the Patriot Act, and the current status of NDAA, enabling the President to have any American citizen arrested and jailed by the military indefinitely without charges or due process.

We have moved very far, as a nation, from "the land of the free and the home of the brave" to "the land of the surveilled and the home of the cowed."

British Intel MI5 And MI6 Behind Underwear Bomb Plot

British intelligence agencies MI5 and MI6 were ultimately behind this week's contrived underwear bomb plot, it has been alleged by sources spoken to by London's The Telegraph.

MI5 reportedly recruited a British passport holder of Saudi origin with the mission to infiltrate Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, and gather intelligence which could be used to kill purported master bomb maker Ibrahim Hassan al-Asiri in a drone strike.

Once the double agent had been recruited, MI6 collaborated with Saudi intelligence and the asset was sent to Yemen, where he successfully infiltrated militants and walked away with the explosive device currently being analysed by the FBI in Virginia.

Upon completing his mission the man reportedly travelled from Yemen to Saudi Arabia, via the United Arab Emirates, where the underwear bomb was passed to the agent's British handlers. He also provided intelligence which was used to kill purported "director of external operations" for Al Qaeda, Fahd al-Quso, in a CIA drone strike in Yemen on Sunday.

At a time when the British intelligence services are being investigated for their involvement in "rendering" militants to be tortured in Libya during Gaddafi's rule, as well as facing heavy criticism in relation to the death of spy Gareth Williams, the publicising of British involvement in the contrived underwear bomb plot is particularly awkward for MI5 and MI6.

They are not supposed to provide "targeting information" that can be used to summarily execute suspected militants who are being routinely killed in drone strikes without experiencing any kind of due process.

That’s right, this huge corporate media manufactured story was literally a NON EVENT with the terrorist actually being an operative who then turned the bomb over to the Central Intelligence Agency.
Immediately after the release of this full scale propaganda story, the corporate CIA run media went to work promoting the dangerous naked body scanners and literally worshiping homeland securities draconian “security” measures.

In a segment on Anderson Coopers (Vanderbilt to be specific) show, Rep. Peter King claimed that its unfortunate this information got out and that a major investigation is being launched to find out how it happened.

“It’s really, to me, unfortunate that this has gotten out, because this could really interfere with operations overseas,” Rep. Peter King of New York told CNN’s Anderson Cooper on Tuesday. “My understanding is a major investigation is going to be launched because of this.”

The mole, who volunteered as a suicide bomber for the terrorist group, was actually working as an intelligence agent for Saudi Arabia, a source in the region familiar with the operation told CNN.

The man left Yemen, traveled through the United Arab Emirates and gave the bomb and information about al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula to the CIA, Saudi intelligence and other foreign intelligence agencies, the source said.

The agent works for Saudi intelligence, which has cooperated with the CIA for years, the source said.

“Indeed, we always were the ones managing him,” the source told CNN.

Consider this: If the information was not leaked, networks such as CNN would continue to broadcast 24/7 propaganda as to how al Qaeda almost just blew up an American airline and that we are all in danger if we do not give up more of our rights.
Another report from CNN, this time by Marnie Hunter, used the fear many Americans are most likely feeling from this “bomb plot” to promote the use of naked body scanners not only inside the United States but throughout the world.
As Madison Ruppert noted in his recent article, “CIA Thwarts Own New Underwear Bomber Plot, Continues Trend of Manufactured Terror,” there are a variety of reasons for such a staged plot.

This comes as Senator Rand Paul is pushing to dissolve the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) completely while they continue to expand operations outside of airports and into the daily lives of Americans with no reason to do so.

When the American people begin to become increasingly intolerant of the TSA’s invasive tactics and dehumanizing treatment as well as the never-ending global war on terror, there has to be something done to keep us believing that this is for our own good.

This farcical case of manufactured terrorism is just another example of this principle at work. Without the CIA keeping us safe by foiling their own bomb plots, we might have real bomb plots, right?

Or, perhaps, the more logical conclusion would be that without these manufactured bomb plots, there would actually be no bomb plots.

Another day, another blatant instance of manufactured terrorism courtesy of the U.S. government, in this case the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).
I assume that my readers are already astute enough to see this case as nothing more than yet another attempt to justify the American police state, the expansive big brother policies and technology and the fraudulent war on terror while also pushing for nations around the world to pick up even more of the U.S.’s destructive policies.

Plusieurs internautes qui recherchaient dans Google les acronymes de la Fédération étudiante universitaire du Québec (FEUQ), de la Fédération étudiante collégiale du Québec (FECQ) ou de l'Association pour une solidarité syndicale étudiante (ASSÉ) ont vu apparaître une publicité pour le site gouvernemental www.droitsdescolarite.com.
Même résultat pour les expressions «grève étudiante» ou «manifestation étudiante».
Sous le titre «L'université demeure accessible», le site annoncé propose d'apprendre aux lecteurs «pourquoi une hausse est nécessaire pour continuer à assurer la qualité de l'enseignement et garantir la valeur des diplômes universitaires».

Mais Dave Leclerc, porte-parole de la ministre de l'Éducation, affirme que ce plan de communication était une recommandation du Comité consultatif sur l'accessibilité financière aux études, sur lequel siégeaient sept représentants étudiants sur 19 membres.

Google permet à quiconque d'acheter de tels mots clés ou expressions pour diffuser de sa publicité aux internautes. Il est permis d'acheter le nom d'une entreprise ou d'une organisation rivale, mais il n'est pas permis d'utiliser son nom dans la publicité que l'on souhaite diffuser ensuite.
Une recherche effectuée par La Presse démontre que l'achat des mots clés a été peu coûteux. Google fixe le prix des mots clés selon leur popularité et le nombre de personnes qui souhaitent l'acheter. L'annonceur paye ensuite chaque fois qu'un internaute clique sur sa publicité.
L'expression FEUQ, recherchée en moyenne 1000 fois par mois sur Google Canada, est vendue à environ 10 sous par clic. FECQ, avec 720 recherches par mois, coûte le même tarif.
Pour ASSÉ, un nom recherché 18 000 fois par mois au Canada (et qui a d'autres usages qu'un regroupement étudiant), le prix est plus élevé, à environ 79 sous par clic.
L'expression «Association étudiante», avec 2400 recherches par mois en moyenne au Canada, est plus dispendieuse, avec un tarif approximatif de 1,21$ par clic.

Officials: Nearly $2 million in guns, combat gear sold to gangs

A wide-reaching investigation by military and civilian authorities has uncovered a criminal conspiracy within the Armed Forces to steal and sell nearly $2 million in guns and combat gear to gangs in the U.S. and foreign countries including China, military officials have confirmed.
Those involved are accused of stealing, over-ordering or otherwise obtaining equipment and selling guns locally and other gear over the Internet to people in foreign countries including China and Russia, officials said.
A handful of those arrested in the sweeping operation have already been court martialed.

A Daily KOs article reveals that Wall Street banks have used private equity firms to acquire and launch a massive stealth takeover of private security firms, US ammo and gun manufacturers, uniforms, silencers and an army of mercenaries to build what amounts to the world's largest private army.
At the same time the private mercenary companies they now control, which include the likes of  Dynacorp and the notorious name changing Blackwater/Xe Services/Academi,  have been authorized under Department of Defense DIRECTIVE NUMBER 3025.18 to actually conduct policing operations inside the United States.
The article reveals Citi Bank, Bank of America, Barclays, and Deutsche Bank have provide huge amounts of funding to two private Wall Street equity firms, Cerebus and Veritas Equity, which in turn have used umbrella companies such as Freedom Corp., to engage in stealth takeovers and weapons stockpiling which has consumed the likes of  several gun manufacturers and ammunition manufacturers including Remington, Cobbs, H&R, Marlin, Dakota, and Bushmaker.
Furthermore, the same private equity firms have taken over companies involved in the “crowd control industry”.
One such example is CPI which manufacturers microwave and radio frequency crowd control pain inducers similar to the US Military’s heat gun which has been mentioned for deployment to control Occupy protestors.
All of this comes following news that the Department of Homeland Security has purchased 450 million rounds of ammunition banned by the Geneva Convention which is coupled with reports that feds are buying up all surplus ammo and even ordering stores to cease sales to civilians.
At the same time a DHS informant says that the DHS is preparing for a civil war and recently leaked army manuals reveal mass military detention centers are being prepared inside the US for a War On Terror ‘strategy shift‘.

Los Angeles Unified officials hope a new plan allowing students to purchase school meals with a simple press of a finger will save money, speed up long cafeteria lines and reduce the headaches caused by forgotten lunch money. But the controversial finger scan ID system, already tested and dropped by at least one school district in California and banned in some states, has faced opposition from parents and civil liberties groups worried about student privacy. "Making school children submit to fingerprinting, and risking the misuse of biometric information before they are old enough to drive a car seems like an absurdly risky and invasive way to get slightly faster lunch lines," said Peter Bibring, a lawyer with the Southern California American Civil Liberties Union.

Texas schools to begin tracking students with IDs embedded with RFID chips

In an attempt to get more money from the state, a middle school and high school in Texas are implementing a program in which student IDs will be outfitted with radio-frequency identification (RFID) chips in order to track their movements around school.
As is so often done when it comes to surveillance technology, this is being sold to us as something for our own good and the good of our children. This is identical to how the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is pushing their ludicrously unconstitutional license plate surveillance program...

Martial Law In Effect - Preemptive NATO Raids Jailing Activists Without Charge

In a series of preemptive raids to crackdown on planned protests of the NATO meeting in Chicago activists are being held in jail without charge.

The National Lawyer’s Guild reports that activists planning to protest the NATO summit in Chicago this weekend, where a martial law red-zone has officially been declared around the Chicago loop,  have simply disappeared without a warrant or charges.

According to Truth-out, at least 20 activists have been rounded up and thrown in jail in a series of preemptive raids conducted to crackdown on planned protests.
CBS news reports following the kidnapping of the activists Occupy Chicago protestors have taken to the streets and started blocking traffic to demand the immediate release of the people being illegally detained.
According the NLG, 9 of those activists simply disappeared Wednesday evening when the Organized Crime Division of the Chicago Police Department raided the home of two Occupy Chicago activists without a warrant and hauled them off without ever charging them.
The NLG said the police denied the raids or that anyone had even been detained and they were only able to locate the activists, who were being detained in the organized crime facility, over 12 hours later after working through out the night.
After locating the activists, the Illinois States Attorney at the station were the activists are being detained refused to meet with NLG or even discuss the reason for the arrests.
More than 24 hours later 4 of the activists were released without charge while the other 5 arrested during that raid are still being held without charge.
Despite President Obama’s promises that NDAA powers to detain U.S. citizens without charge would not be used the government is doing just that and setting a dangerous precedent of throwing activists in jail just for planning to engage in constitutionally protected free speech activities.
The Chicago Police have released a statement that their warrant-less raid recovered Molotov cocktails but the activists say the equipment is part of a home alcohol brewing apparatus.

It has now emerged that it was not just the Red Cross and hospitals that were told to prepare for various emergency scenarios surrounding the upcoming NATO summit in Chicago.
The local Chicago CBS affiliate recently reported that Benedictine University has been contacted by the American Red Cross chapter in DuPage County to set up emergency shelters.
This is being done in order to prepare for a potential evacuation of Chicago during the NATO summit, and the Lisle campus of Benedictine University has been instructed to plan for up to 1,000 evacuees...

Chicago cops start preemptive arrests on the eve of NATO Summit

The National Lawyers Guild confirms that law enforcement agents broke down the door of a 6-unit apartment building in the Chicago, Illinois neighborhood of Bridgeport at around 11:30 pm on Wednesday. Once inside, they entered the apartment of known activists with guns drawn and then cuffed the residents.

For two hours, tenants were shackled and questioned by officers with the Organized Crime Division of the Chicago Police Department. The Chicago Tribune writes that police reports detailing the incident have been obtained by the newspaper and confirm that nine people were arrested in the raid for allegedly making or possessing Molotov cocktail explosives. Police sources add to the paper early Friday, however, that none of the suspects had been charged.

Attorneys for the accused attest to the innocence of their clients. The reason they cannot prove that they were making Molotov cocktails, they say, is because they weren’t — instead, police saw and seized equipment used for home brewing beer.
“As far as we know, there was no liquid in the bottles,” Kris Hermes, a spokesman for the lawyer’s guild.
Four of the suspects have been released without charge. As of Friday morning, the remaining five were still detained.
Hermes adds to the Tribune that “there’s absolutely no evidence of wrongdoing,” and that law enforcement officers were simply trying to make the activists “disappear” days before police expect major anti-NATO protests in Chicago.
“We were literally calling all morning and all afternoon to try to contact these people,” Hermes says. “That’s why we used the term ‘disappeared.’ ”
In a separate statement offered to an NBC News station in Chicago, Hermes adds, "The city has so far not indicated the reasons for the raid, what they are charging the protesters with, nor provided any evidence of wrongdoing” and that the NLG was still seeking a copy of the search warrant used in the raid.
Gelsomino adds that the search warrant used in the raid was allegedly not produced until four hours after the incident and was missing the signature of a court judge.

Chicago police prepare for NATO Summit with riot gear and sound cannon

Tens of thousands of demonstrators will descend on Chicago, Illinois this month to protest the annual conference of NATO nations, and police are preparing with the help of one million dollars’ worth of weapons and riot gear.
Chicago’s law enforcement agencies have invested as much as $1 million on riot-control equipment, including at least one long-range acoustic device, or LRAD, and upgrades to shields that will be worn by the police, reports the UK’s guardian
Demonstrators and organizers alike have both described the plans for marches and rallies against the NATO Summit later this month as being peaceful in nature. Law enforcement wants to make sure that they keep the events non-violent, though, and will aim to do so with a major new arsenal of riot gear.

The LRAD, a sound cannon-like device that has been linked to causing permanent hearing loss, is being touted by the Chicago Police Department as a necessity for public safety.
This huge assortment of riot gear, including the LRAD, has absolutely nothing to do with alleged "public safety"; this has to do with demonstrating to the NATO dignitaries that Americans are sufficiently cowed to accept any decision the Federal Government makes without stirring up a fuss, and if they do, they can be permanently crippled or killed with absolutely zero repercussions.

700 National Guard Homeland Response Force Troops Set to Train in New York

Israeli Company Has FAA Permission to Fly Drones in U.S. Airspace!

The Israeli company Stark Aerospace of Mississippi is not so much from Mississippi as it is from Israel. Stark Aerospace of Mississippi is a subsidiary of Israel Aerospace Industries! And the Federal Aviation Administration has given them permission to fly their drones in American airspace!
Israel started its drone program with a contract in July of 1970 with the American company Teledyne Ryan. 'No indication' of terror threat to Chicago NATO summit-FBI

FBI agent Ross Rice said the agency will be on heightened alert in Chicago, with extra agents brought in to react if its intelligence network sniffs out a plot. The FBI has agents in 70 countries, gathering intelligence.

"Several international terrorist groups have elevated Chicago in their mind to their No. 1 target for terrorist attack," Rice said in an interview at the U.S. government's nerve center inside a non-descript suburban Chicago office complex. Reporters were asked to keep the location secret.

"But there's absolutely no indication that we've developed that any group or organization has a plan afoot to disrupt the summit this week," Rice said.

OK, if "...there's absolutely no indication that we've developed that any group or organization has a plan afoot to disrupt the summit," then why the flip is Chicago in lockdown, surveilled from the skies, and people being warned that they may want to leave certain buildings when the conference is being held, not to mention the horrendous expense?!?

Is this simply an exercise by the US government, simply to demonstrate a show of force to NATO against its own citizens?

If there is no real threat, what other reason could there be for the overkill in Chicago, other than wanting to show various dignitaries from various foreign countries that they can inconvenience and oppress American citizens with utterly zero consequences?!?

Bringing It All Back Home: Occupied Chicago is America’s New Normal

Nato claims its purpose is to secure peace through security; in much of Chicago neither exists.
This violence, be it at the hands of the state or gangs, is both compounded and underpinned by racial and economic disadvantage. The poorer the neighbourhood the more violent, the wealthier the safer. This is no coincidence. Much like the Nato summit – and the G8 summit that preceded it – the system is set up not to spread wealth but to preserve and protect it, not to relieve chaos but to contain and punish it.
Chicago illustrates how the developing world is everywhere, not least in the heart of the developed. The mortality rate for black infants in the city is on a par with the West Bank; black life expectancy in Illinois is just below Egypt and just above Uzbekistan. More than a quarter of Chicagoans have no health insurance, one in five black male Chicagoans are unemployed and one in three live in poverty. Latinos do not fare much better.

NATO Strengthens Position In Central Asia Against Russia, China

NATO is strengthening its positions in Central Asia, for the first time inviting Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan to its Chicago summit on May 20 and 21 in hopes of expanding partnerships with the countries. Now, NATO has only cargo transit deals in the region but is eyeing new military bases to compete with Russia and China.

The summit will deal with the alliance’s new policy on Central Asia. The above-mentioned countries were invited to the Afghanistan meeting as they provide transit for alliance forces in the country.

NATO openly speaks about its plans to deploy its troops in Central Asia and the invited countries are perfectly aware of it. Now they are thinking of how to get the most out of this situation, says political analyst and chief editor of Ferghana.ru web portal, Daniil Kislov:

NATO activates missile shield despite Russian anger

NATO leaders launched Sunday the first phase of a US-led missile shield for Europe, risking the wrath of Russia which has threatened to deploy rockets to EU borders in response.
A NATO official told AFP that US President Barack Obama and his allies "just decided" at a Chicago summit to put a US warship armed with interceptors in the Mediterranean and a Turkey-based radar system under NATO command in a German base.
The alliance insists the shield is not aimed at Russia and aims to knock out missiles that could be launched by enemies such as Iran, but Moscow fears that the system will also serve to neutralize its nuclear deterrent.

House Passes Stealth Legislation

Go to Google and type in “H.R. 4133.” You will discover that, apart from a handful of blogs and alternative news sites, not a single mainstream medium has reported the story of a congressional bill that might well have major impact on the conduct of United States foreign policy. H.R. 4133, the United States-Israel Enhanced Security Cooperation Act of 2012, was introduced into the House of Representatives of the 112th Congress on March 5 “to express the sense of Congress regarding the United States-Israel strategic relationship, to direct the president to submit to Congress reports on United States actions to enhance this relationship and to assist in the defense of Israel, and for other purposes.” The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) reportedly helped draft the bill, and its co-sponsors include Republicans Eric Cantor and Ileana Ros-Lehtinen and Democrats Howard Berman and Steny Hoyer. Hoyer is the Democratic whip in the House of Representatives, where Cantor is majority leader. Ros-Lehtinen heads the Foreign Affairs Committee.
The House bill basically provides Israel with a blank check drawn on the U.S. taxpayer to maintain its “qualitative military edge” over all of its neighbors combined.
But the objective is to provide Israel with the resources to attack Iran, if it chooses to do so, while tying the U.S. and Israel so closely together that whatever Benjamin Netanyahu does, the U.S. “will always be there,” as our president has so aptly put it.
But the scariest bit of the bill is its call for “an expanded role for Israel within the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), including an enhanced presence at NATO headquarters and exercises.” If Israel becomes part of NATO, which is clearly Congress’s intent, the U.S. and other members will be obligated to come to the aid of a nation that is expanding its borders and is currently engaged in hostilities with three of its neighbors.

In attendance at the lavish banquet will be the kings, emirs and sultans of the Persian Gulf monarchies: Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, United Arab Emirates and Oman. While the European royal counterparts can claim to be antiquated throwbacks to centuries past, who now possess largely ceremonial titles that do not impinge on the democratic workings of their societies, not so the Gulf monarchs. For these are absolute rulers who preside over their subjects with ruthless and untrammelled power. The oil-enriched dictators do not brook the slightest public dissent, and invariably command their state treasury and army like fiefdoms.

Memo to Queen Elizabeth; if one can truly be judged by the company one keeps, it is, then, painfully apparent to both your subjects and the world, that you keep some some company of very dubious moral and political character.

Target Iran: America and Israel to Officially Unleash MEK Terrorist Cult

A couple of months ago, one of those dubious leaks made by “unnamed US officials” caught my eye. US media did something it doesn’t often do; it publicised ‘secret’ Israeli government policy. Giving five minutes of prime time TV to Iranian scientist Mohammad Javad Larijani, brother of Ali Larijani, philosopher and chairman of the Parliament of Iran, two “senior U.S. officials” confirmed for NBC News what Mohammad Larijani was telling them: that Israel was behind the assassinations of Iranian scientists.
Specifically, the US officials stated that Israel’s Mossad was financing, training and arming an Iranian dissident group that goes by many names, but which we’ll call the People’s Mujahedin of Iran (MEK) for now. In return, the MEK is “providing Israel with information.” Speaking through NBC, these unknown officials confirmed what Larijani and the Iranian government have been saying for years: that Israel, through the MEK, carried out the attacks in which motorcycle-borne assailants attached sophisticated magnetic bombs to the exterior of the victims’ cars. The US officials further stated that the Obama administration is aware of the assassination campaign but has no direct involvement.

U.S. Ambassador to Israel: Plan to Attack Iran “Ready”

The U.S. ambassador to Israel, Daniel Shaprio, told a closed conference in Tel Aviv that the United States has completed preparations for a military strike on Iran. His comments were recorded by a reporter and aired on Israel’s Channel 2 TV on Wednesday night.

“It would be preferable to resolve this diplomatically, and through the use of pressure, than to use military force,” Shapiro said. “But that does not mean that option isn’t available. Not just available, it’s ready. The necessary planning has been done to ensure that it’s ready.”

Apparently, in Panetta's mind, the Constitution , Bill of Rights, and the rule of law no longer exists.

Because of the tremendous sacrifices of all our families through two world wars, the US authored war law into treaty status; US “Supreme Law” in Article 6 of the US Constitution. War law is crystal-clear: a nation can never use its military in armed attack unless another nation’s government attacks first. This means the US armed attacks/wars on all current nations are unlawful Wars of Aggression, the worst crime a nation can commit.
Peer-reviewed professional and independent studies conclude that the US war-murders (direct and indirect) ~500/day since 2001. Shockingly, this is lower than the US annual war-murder average since WW2 of ~1,000 to 1,500/day (20-30 million total; 300-500,000/year since 1945).
The US has $4 - $6 trillion in long-term costs for its wars since 2001; a daily average cost of ~$1 billion to $1.6 billion.

Cost in money and lives: Current war expenditures are now ~$15 billion/month.[1] According to Nobel Prize winning economist, Joseph Stiglitz and Harvard professor, Linda Bilmes, the long-term costs of the Iraq war as of Spring, 2008, are conservatively figured at over $3 trillion, ~$30,000 each for the ~100 million American households.[2] Adjusted for inflation, this is now the second most costly war in US history.[3]
According to the John Hopkins School of Public Health published in the esteemed Lancet Medical Journal using the best academic and professional methodology, as of October, 2006, over 650,000 more Iraqis have been killed since the US invasion than would be expected in pre-war conditions.[7] Despite this being the only peer-reviewed study, the US government dismisses this study without giving reason, saying that less than 100,000 Iraqis have died.[8] In December 2007, the number of violent Iraqi deaths is probably over 1.2 million (about 20,000 per month).[9] From these deaths, the Iraqi government reports that five million children have become orphans; horrific even if overestimated by a factor of two.[10]

U.S. Has Spent $642 Billion on Afghan War, Including almost $200 Billion for This Year and Next

While Washington’s rhetoric has focused recently on the coming end to the war in Afghanistan, its spending on the conflict is not at all waning.
Between this year and next, the federal government plans to spend nearly $200 billion on the war. If it does so, the U.S. will have spent about $642 billion since 2001 on fighting the Taliban, al-Qaeda and allied groups, local militias and warlords in Afghanistan.
One think tank, the Center for Strategic & International Studies (CSIS), characterized the spending commitment for 2012 and 2013 as “incredible” given the lack of controls, plans, auditing and effectiveness employed by the Obama administration to win the war.
The only individuals "winning" this war are the drug lords, the corporate banks which launder their profits, and the huge defense contractors providing mercenaries, materials, and logistics for the US government.

US Finally Confirms Ground Campaign in Yemen

Doing away with the pretense that US troops in Yemen are exclusively there on a “training mission,” officials are confirming that “about 20 US special forces” are on the ground and engaged in a “focused counter-terrorism campaign.”

With drones pounding southern Yemen on a near daily basis, the confirmation shows that the troops are not just in Yemen, but are actually directing the Yemeni military in their suddenly aggressive offensive against the Abyan Province.

Any one remember how the war in Viet Nam started?!?

With "advisors", i.e., "special forces."

IF the US government really wants the current Yemenite government to succeed, it must do the following:

1. Provide food and medical aid to the people of Yemen who desperately need it, and not allow it to fall into the hands of government militias as a "reward" to sell to those who can buy them.
2. Help the Yemenite government by collaborating with it to build schools, hospitals, and infrastructure.
3. Assist the government in obtaining investments with which to build up industry and agriculture
4. Assist the government in developing more transparency, and ditching a well-entrenched culture of corruption.
5. In short, make the US government appear to be the really "good guys" to the people of Yemen, rather than "good guys" to the government of Yemen.

OF course, all these steps...would be logical.

When the US government continues to support any tinpot dictator who oppresses their own people, it screams to the world that human rights, liberty, and human dignity are values the US government embraces only when they are convenient. It is very obvious that in the case of Yemen, these values are not convenient.

If people cannot reasonably embrace the promise of a peaceful revolution, because they can see concrete signs that things are actually getting better for them, they will then almost inevitably embrace the promise of radicalism.

What the US government is doing, in terms of these drone strikes, and apparent ground operations, is creating the perfect storm for a backlash against the sitting Yemenite government, culminating in a potentially successful rebellion against that government, and the establishment of a virulently anti-American regime in its place.

Sometimes, I just have to shake my head at how stupidly ham-fisted, and completely wrong-headed US foreign policy can be, and there are very few areas where this it more painfully apparent than in the US government's policy toward Yemen.

US Sending Troops to Yemen for ‘Training’

With growing fighting in the Abyan Province, the Pentagon is announcing that it intends to send troops to Yemen as part of a “training mission.”
Following repeated claims by US leaders that Yemen’s al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) is the greatest threat on the planet,the US has dramatically escalated its drone strike campaign against Yemen, pounding southern towns under the control of Ansar al-Sharia several times a week.
The replacement of former "president for life" Selah with Rabbuh Mansur Al-Hadi has done absolutely nothing to ameliorate the misery in which most Yemenites live.
Replacing one thug with another doesn't change the situation on the ground one whit.
IF the folks in the White House, Pentagon, and State Department had one shred of sense between them, they would be offering food and medical aid, and develop a methodology to insure that this aid actually gets to the people who so desperately need it, which means it would NOT be going to Al-Hadi's cronies, to sell at a profit for those few who can afford it.
They would be working with local people to build bridges and hospitals and schools, bringing a source of desperately needed income to some people.
They would be pushing Al-Hadi's government to seek development deals, keep taxes to a minimum, and offer more transparency in government, so that the people of Yemen can actually believe that life will be getting better for them in the future.
If the only hope people can cling to is the hope of radicalism and violence, then that is the hope they will embrace.
Of course, all of these efforts...would be logical, and would work to establish long-term stability and growth in Yemen.
I would like to remind all in the bowels of power that the military debacle which was Viet Nam started with the introduction of " military advisors" to a government which routinely suppressed its own people; and we all remember just how brilliantly THAT went for the US government!
As President Kennedy said, "When peaceful revolution is impossible, violent revolution is inevitable!"
Far from creating "stability" here, what our foreign policy in Yemen is doing is creating the perfect enviornment for the eruption of a violent revolution which may well lead toward the establishment of a virulently anti-American government, bordering an oil-producing giant in the region having domestic unrest problems of its own.
An attempted US-government engineered military solution to the crisis in Yemen is the absolutely most ham-fisted, wrong-headed, and ultimately counterproductive approach which could possibly be taken.

Obama Uses CIA Funded al-Qaeda Attacks in Yemen to Declare National Emergency

During a military parade rehearsal this week, more than 90 people were killed after a bomber wearing an army uniform self-exploded amidst a group of soldiers at al-Sabin Square. The terrorist group al-Qaeda claimed the bombing, saying that one of their members carried out the attack.
Along with the estimated 90 killed, defense ministry officials said 222 people were injured in the attack. The al-Qaeda plant was present moments before Defense Minister Nasser Ahmed and the army’s chief-of-staff were scheduled to greet the troops. The majority of the dead were stationed from the Central Security Organization.
Yemen has been the stage for al-Qaeda’s attacks against the president Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi, who recently took office. Hadi has declared war against al-Qaeda, saying it is a “religious duty’ of the state to do so.

Obama says he is going to exercise these powers on the sovereign country of Yemen and “others”. This is a seizure of all Yemenis owned properties in the United States and the properties of any American with business ties to any interest in Yemen. This is an act of war.

FBI director Robert S. Mueller III today disclosed that the FBI is investigating leaks to the news media about the recently disrupted plot by Al Qaeda’s Yemen affiliate to smuggle a bomb designed to be concealed in underwear onto a U.S. bound jet. The plans for the attack, which featured a more sophisticated version of the device the “underwear bomber” of Christmas 2009 was arrested with, were first revealed by the AP. But a day later, it was revealed that the individual at the center of the plot was a double agent working for Britain’s MI-6 secret intelligence service and the CIA along with Saudi Arabian intelligence assets. “We have initiated an investigation into this leak,” Mueller testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday. Justice Department officials and an FBI spokesman declined to comment on the nature of the investigation. The CIA also declined comment. Matthew Olsen, director of the National Counterterrorism Center, addressed the issue of media leaks relating to the plot and called it “devastating.”

While conceding that there are “a number of serious unresolved human rights issues” in the nation, the US State Department announced today that President Obama has signed off on a resumption of weapons sales to Bahrain.
The statement did not provide a total value of the weapons being sent to Bahrain, but insisted that the new weapons would not be used for “crowd control.” US weapons have been used heavily by Bahrain and allies in cracking down on pro-democracy protesters since last year.

Israel wants its energy projects in Greek Cyprus to be run by Israelis and is seeking to deploy as many as 20,000 commandos for their protection, Anatolia news agency reported today.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahuand his Greek Cypriot counterpart, Demetris Christofias, met on Feb. 16 to discuss the two countries’ joint ventures. Details of the talks between the two leaders were kept secret.
Anatolia cited a source it said was close to the Greek Cypriot government who reportedly said Christophias specifically asked Netanyahu to convince Israeli businessmen to halt their investments in Turkish Cyprus during the meeting.

The Philippines said Wednesday the United States had pledged to protect it from attacks in the South China Sea, a day after China issued a warning over a territorial row in the waters.
Defence Secretary Voltaire Gazmin said he had received the assurances during talks in Washington last week in which the Philippines’ increasingly tense dispute with China over rival claims to a shoal in the sea were discussed.
Gazmin said US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Defence Secretary Leon Panetta stressed they were not taking sides in the dispute, but they assured the Philippines the United States would honour a 1951 mutual defence treaty. “It includes armed attack (on) island territories in the Pacific (region),” Gazmin said, citing conditions for the allies coming to each other’s aid.

Israeli Leadership Hardens Stance, Plans Iran Attack

“The window of opportunity is before the U.S. presidential election in November. This way they will bounce the Americans into supporting them.” Obama aides have likewise referred to the weeks before the vote as the “sweet spot” for the war.
It is this near certitude about the wisdom of starting a war that has Israeli officials scared to death of the P5+1 negotiations next week in Baghdad. Though the US is always around to try to foil any deals reached, the latest word has been that the sides are making serious progress, and could spoil Netanyahu’s crusade into Tehran.
I am hoping (and praying, literally) that sane heads at the P5+1 will come to an intelligent rapprochement with the Iranians over their nuclear energy program, and that war against Iran will be forestalled because of that.
However, unfortunately, I wouldn't bet against Israel attempting some kind of false flag attack to prevent this next round of talks from even happening, if they think they can get away with it.

Israel Sets Tough Demands for Next Round of Iran Talks

During a visit to Israel on Wednesday, Catherine Ashton, the European diplomat leading nuclear negotiations with Iran, got a reminder of the enormity of the challenge she faces. Ashton met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and senior cabinet members to brief them on plans for the Baghdad talks scheduled for May 23. Unlike last month’s ice-breaker meeting in Istanbul, in Baghdad, the two sides are required to begin putting cards on the table outlining reciprocal steps each would be willing to take to resolve or ease the dangerous international standoff over Iran’s nuclear program. Netanyahu reportedly delivered a blunt warning: “Iran is trying to gain time through talks with the West, and has no intention of halting its nuclear program,” the Israeli leader told Ashton at the closed meeting, according to Israeli accounts.
It's really pathetic that Catherine Ashton had to fly to Israel to take her working orders from Bibi Netanyahu and looking for his approval conditions for Iran and P5+1 countries negotiations.
Why is Israel even part of all of this? Israel is not a permanent member of the UN Security Council, nor even a regular member. Indeed, Israel's membership at the United Nations is technically invalid since they never complied with the conditions placed on their joining the UN, which was allowing the Palestinians a right of return and compensation to Palestinians for confiscated homes and villages. Israel led the charge against Iraq's nuclear power program, bombing the power station at Osirak while claiming it housed a secret factory to make nuclear weapons, which turned out to be entirely baseless.
Netanyahu has been waiving war flags against Iran for years and in every day passes he keeps his demands higher from Western countries.
Now Netanyahu wants Iran's nuclear enrichment program stops at any level, something he knows that Iran will not accept.
He is not looking for a solution, he's looking to start a war with Iran that the West will be forced to fight for Israel, just like the Iraq war.

Speaking during an interview which was published in Jerusalem Friday, Professor Martin Van Crevel said Israel had the capability of hitting most European capitals with nuclear weapons.

British ministers 'ponder response to Israeli strike on Iran'

Any UK action would be extremely divisive for the coalition so perhaps it is not surprising that the issue gets a frequent airing at the NSC. Andrew Rawnsley argued in The Observer in March that Iran was the issue most likely to tear the government apart. Western Leaders Reject Iranian Proposal for Wider Access for UN Inspectors

Western leaders on Thursday rejected proposals by Iranian nuclear negotiators to alleviate concerns about Iran’s nuclear program, while Iran rejected an incentive package from the six world powers.
Let's stop pretending with this "western leaders" crap and call it like it is. The United States is blocking every possible deal under orders from Israel, which has adopted a "do as we say or death" foreign policy against the rest of the world.
Iran is playing by the rules. Iran has signed the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. Iran does not have nuclear weapons. Iran allows IAEA inspections. And Iran has not initiated a war of conquest in over 200 years.
In contrast, Israel does have nuclear weapons (although it officially maintain a policy of ambiguity in order to evade US legal limits on taxpayer-funded financial support). Israelis run organ trafficking network

According to Ha’aretz, at least 10 Israeli citizens were arrested for membership in the organ trafficking gang. Investigation into the ring began after representatives of several countries contacted the Israeli authorities and provided them with the names of suspects, who are all Israeli citizens.

UN official: Israeli practices cause great human suffering

The Assistant UN Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, Catherine Bragg, expressed her deep concern about the plight of the Palestinians under occupation, including those rendered homeless after demolition of their homes.

56 Palestinian structures razed this year

Together against settlement group said the Israeli occupation authority (IOA) demolished during the first third of this year more than 56 Palestinian structures in the occupied territories of Jerusalem, Al-Khalil, Nablus, the Jordan Valley and the 1948 villages.
The anti-settlement group stated on Saturday that the IOA invents many pretexts to justify its different demolitions including unlicensed construction or the building in unrecognized areas.
It added that the IOA also closes its doors in the face of Palestinians and imposes restrictions on their possession of construction permits unlike the Jewish settlers who build freely and whose construction violations are overlooked.

Pentagon course taught Islam is the enemy, suggested Hiroshima-type solution for Mecca

A course for U.S. military officers has been teaching that America’s enemy is Islam in general, not just terrorists, and suggesting that the country might ultimately have to obliterate the Islamic holy cities of Mecca and Medina without regard for civilian deaths, following World War II precedents of the nuclear attack on Hiroshima or the allied firebombing of Dresden.
The Pentagon suspended the course in late April when a student objected to the material. The FBI also changed some agent training last year after discovering that it, too, was critical of Islam.
The teaching in the military course was counter to repeated assertions by U.S. officials over the past decade that the U.S. is at war against Islamic extremists, not the religion itself.

US Officially Arming Extremists in Syria

Recently reported in “Brookings Announces Next Move in Syria: War,” it was stated that “by the US policy think-tank Brookings Institution’s own admission, the Kofi Annan six-point peace plan in Syria was merely a ploy to buy time to reorganize NATO’s ineffective terrorist proxies and provide them the pretext necessary for establishing NATO protected safe havens from which to carry out their terrorism from.” It was also examined in detail, how in 2007, US, Saudi, and Israeli officials admitted they were creating a militant front of extremists for the sole purpose of causing the destabilization of Syria we see today, and ultimately overthrowing the Syrian government. It was noted how these extremist militants had direct ties to Al Qaeda.
Please remember: the alleged "Al Qaeda" terrorist organization is completely the spawn of various American "intelligence" groups, a made-up bogeyman which US citizens are supposed to vilify and hate, but created with a very specific directive in mind.
Considering that the West, and more specifically, the CIA, created Al Qaeda in the mountains of Afghanistan in the first place, it seems as if the terrorist organization has and still is executing US foreign policy covertly and illegally, when the US military and its NATO allies cannot.
And there is also the following factoid to consider; in Arabic, the word "al Qaeda" means, literally "the base". However, in colloquial Arabic, the phrase "Raisha al-Qaeda" means "I'm going to the toilet."
So would someone kindly explain to me what why any self-respecting, authentic Arabic terrorist group would call themselves "the toilet"?!?!?

UN Openly Giving Al-Qaeda Cover In Syria To Identify Targets

The media is now openly reporting Al-Qaeda terrorists are working alongside UN Observers in Syria as videos show the terrorists gathering intel for future strikes.
When is a terrorist not a terrorist? When the terrorists are committing acts of terrorism that promote the United States’ imperialistic agenda.
We have seen it over and over again, from MKO terrorists who openly commit bombings and assignations in Iran that US politicians have decided to lobby congress to have removed from the terror list while giving them a US base in Iraq to continue their operations to the latest charade involving Al-Qaeda terrorist working alongside of Western military forces covertly in Syria to overthrow the Assad regime.
The latest example comes from the UN who has been entirely mute about the war crimes being committed by the terrorists against the Syrian government.
Now the media isn’t even trying to hide the fact that these Al-Qaeda terrorists are parading around Syria collecting videos and photographs to plan attacks against the Syrian military under the protection of UN Peacekeepers.
Instead the AFP is openly publishing photographs rubbing it in the face of those “conspiracy theorists” who actually care enough about the destruction of this nation by the evil people in power to actually follow the news.

A photo published by French news agency AFP shows a Syrian rebel wearing the Al-Qaeda flag on his arm accompanying UN observers in the village of Azzara, again underscoring the fact that NATO powers are backing terrorists in their bid to topple President Bashar Al-Assad.

The photo appears on the DayLife website with the caption, “A man wearing a black shirt bearing an Al-Qaeda flag (L) speaks with a UN observer as monitors meet with rebels and civilians in the village of Azzara in the province of Homs on May 4, 2012.”

This of course confirms hundreds of alternative media reports on the unholy alliance between Al-Qaeda and the Syrian revels which is largely being concealed from masses at large who instead are displayed with repeated reports of activists claiming government attacks on innocent civilians and peaceful protestors.
In the video below, the Syria Truth Network documents the terrorists touring the country and gathering intelligence including photos and videos for the government’s military positions which of course is information used by the terrorists to conduct attacks on government forces.

Syrian rebels get influx of arms with gulf neighbors’ money, U.S. coordination

Syrian rebels battling the regime of President Bashar al-Assad have begun receiving significantly more and better weapons in recent weeks, an effort paid for by Persian Gulf nations and coordinated in part by the United States, according to opposition activists and U.S. and foreign officials.
Obama administration officials emphasized that the United States is neither supplying nor funding the lethal material, which includes antitank weaponry. Instead, they said, the administration has expanded contacts with opposition military forces to provide the gulf nations with assessments of rebel credibility and command-and-control infrastructure.

Turkish Daily: CIA and Mossad behind Syria Bombings

The Turkish daily Aydinlik said that suicide bombings represent a way of incitement carried out by the CIA and Mossad agents in Iraq, and are applied now in Syria, Lebanese daily Al-Benaa reported.
“CIA and Mossad agents have carried out – and still – various attacks in several countries including Iraq, Pakistan and Libya,” Aydinlik stated in a report published Monday.
The report made it clear that the agents have bombed mosques during the occupation of Iraq in order to incite Shiites against Sunnis and vice versa.

Blast hits UN observer convoy in Syria

A roadside blast hit troops escorting UN observers in Syria’s restive south on Wednesday, a day after envoy Kofi Annan warned his peace plan could be the last chance to avoid civil war.
The explosive device, which appeared to have been planted underground, detonated as the four-vehicle convoy entered the city of Daraa, cradle of a 14-month uprising against President Bashar al-Assad’s regime.
The bombing was the latest breach of a month-old ceasefire agreement brokered by UN-Arab League envoy Annan.
This is being blamed on Assad, but again, why would he do such a stupid thing as to attack a United Nations convoy? Like Ahmadinejad, Assad does not want a war; it is being forced on him by outside sources.

Syrian activists call for protests after 55 killed in suicide attacks

Syrian activists have called for mass anti-regime demonstrations in Damascus after at least 55 people were killed and nearly 400 hundred wounded by twin suicide attacks.
The US embassy in Beirut called the double bombing, the deadliest attacks in the capital since the uprising against Bashar al-Assad began 14 months, "reprehensive and unacceptable".
"Residents of Damascus, rise up, liberate your city from this regime of killers," said the The Syrian Revolution 2011 activist group on Facebook.
"The one that destroyed Homs and its residents with tanks and shells will not hesitate to destroy Damascus and to kill its residents with explosions," the message added.

Since the violence in Syria first broke out, Syrian President Bashar al Assad stated that the attacks focused on civilians were the work of foreign agents and terrorists, an assertion which the Western media regularly mocked.

Furthermore, the reality of terrorist activity in Syria has been nothing short of blatant for months now and the Western rhetoric dating back to over a year ago completely glosses over these facts.
Earlier this year we witnessed a massive pro-Assad demonstration in Damascus which focused on protesting the “one-year conspiracy” to overthrow the Assad government, something which the Western media chose to ignore, for obvious reasons...

Russian, North Korean arms ships to dock in Syria as bloody crackdown continues

"Eager Lion": Pentagon leads unprecedented exercises on Syrian border

The Pentagon is this week leading the largest multinational military exercises in the history of Jordan, with maneuvers planned along the Syrian border as well as in the Gulf of Aqaba, across from Israel. The "Eager Lion 2012" exercises are bringing together army units from 17 countries, including Jordan, the United States, France, Turkey and Saudi Arabia. In response to the obvious question from journalists, officials said that the war game scenarios are not directed at any particular enemy, and that Operation Eager Lion was planned three years in advance Maj. Robert Bockholt, public affairs officer at US Special Operations Command Central (SOCCENT), said: "Execution of Eager Lion 2012 is not connected to any real-world event. It has nothing to do with Syria. It is just a coincidence."

Syrian War - The Prequel: 2007 New Yorker Article Exposed US-Israeli-Saudi Conspiracy to Overthrow Assad

- Muslim Brotherhood serves as the primary instrument of US, Israel, & Saudi Arabia.
- Lebanon was designated as staging ground to destabilize Syria with Sunni extremists.

As previously stated, the Muslim Brotherhood and various "hardline" Sunni political factions sweeping into power in the wake of the US-engineered "Arab Spring," have been feigning anti-Israeli and anti-Western sentiments in an attempt to swell their ranks with followers before ultimately forming a united Sunni-front against Iran. The creation of a united Sunni-front was noted by geopolitical analyst Dr. Webster Tarpley who has from the beginning stated that the various possible governments resulting from these engineered revolutions "could then be used to support the fundamental US-UK strategy for the Middle East, which is to assemble a block of Arab and Sunni countries (notably Egypt, Saudis, Gulf states, and Jordan) which, formed into a front with the participation of Israel, would collide with the Iranian Shiite front, including Syria, Hezbollah, Hamas, and various radical forces."

A reader recently pointed out this confirmed 2007 New Yorker article titled, "The Redirection: Is the Administration's new policy benefiting our enemies in the war on terrorism?" Written by renowned journalist Seymour Hersh, it covers everything from admissions that the US, Saudis, and Israelis are working together, despite the Saudis and their Sunni proxies' attempts to portray themselves as "anti-Israeli," to admissions that the US is funding a region-wide network of militants and terrorists, many of whom have literally trained at Al Qaeda camps. The article also describes in great detail the role of the Hariri faction in Lebanon, working closely with the Saudis and Americans, and their role in creating a safe haven for terrorist organizations on Lebanese soil, now involved fully in destabilizing neighboring Syria.

Clearly, what has been recently portrayed by the West as mere "claims" by the Syrian government that the Saudis, Lebanese, and NATO were conspiring against them, is simply the fruition of the US policy exposed fully in the New Yorker in 2007. While many analysts have treated the rise of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and their involvement in Syria's uprising as a somewhat nebulous phenomenon, the New Yorker's 2007 article makes it clear that the Brotherhood is one of the primary instruments used by the Saudis as part of a US-Israeli-Saudi effort to eliminate Syria and Iran. Not only that, but the report indicates that the US itself has been funding and using the Muslim Brotherhood as well.

Just as the US State Department feigned shock and confusion at the "Arab Spring" it had been preparing for the last 3 years, it is likewise reacting with feigned confusion and dismay over the rise of the Muslim Brotherhood in the "Arab Spring's" wake. In reality it is a premeditated consequence of US foreign policy spanning both the Bush and now the Obama administrations.

It is clear now, with the rise of the Muslim Brotherhood and the Sunni-extremist dominated, foreign-funded destabilization ravaging Syria, that this policy created during the Bush administration, has transcended presidencies and is being brought to its premeditated conclusion under Obama - yet another example of "continuity of agenda."

Saudi Arabia, Israel, and the United States Are Behind Syria's Violence.

The evidence trickling out of the corporate-media regarding who the armed Syrian opposition is, reveals that it is predominately an extremist Sunni-movement, not only including Syrian extremists, but militants crossing the border from Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, and even from as far as Libya. An alliance of Gulf States led by Saudi Arabia have pledged funds for Syria's militants and has repeatedly called for openly arming them. The US is likewise openly equipping Syrian militants.

This reality is not merely a spontaneous reaction by the "international community," but verbatim what was planned in detail amongst the US, Israel, and Saudi Arabia years in advance to topple the Syrian government before moving on to Iran, according to Hersh's 2007 report:

To undermine Iran, which is predominantly Shiite, the Bush Administration has decided, in effect, to reconfigure its priorities in the Middle East. In Lebanon, the Administration has coöperated with Saudi Arabia’s government, which is Sunni, in clandestine operations that are intended to weaken Hezbollah, the Shiite organization that is backed by Iran. The U.S. has also taken part in clandestine operations aimed at Iran and its ally Syria. A by-product of these activities has been the bolstering of Sunni extremist groups that espouse a militant vision of Islam and are hostile to America and sympathetic to Al Qaeda. -The Redirection, Seymour Hersh

Hersh's report would also include:

the Saudi government, with Washington’s approval, would provide funds and logistical aid to weaken the government of President Bashir Assad, of Syria. This mirrors sentiments included in the Brookings Institution's 2009 report, "Which Path to Persia?" where it was stated that reaching some sort of conclusion with Syria first was a prerequisite before attacking Iran:

...the Israelis may want to hold off until they have a peace deal with Syria in hand (assuming that Jerusalem believes that one is within reach), which would help them mitigate blowback from Hizballah and potentially Hamas. Clearly, what we are seeing today in Syria is the full manifestation of this premeditated conspiracy against the government and people of Syria, and in turn, against the Iranians. It should be noted that a US intelligence professional interviewed by Hersh for his story, predicted that the Sunni extremists being prepared in 2007 for today's violence, would most likely go on a genocidal killing spree, as seen in Libya, and now being quietly reported by the Western press in Syria as well:

That the United States, Israel, and Saudi Arabia premeditated a regional conflict utilizing militant-extremists with full knowledge they would commit wide ranging, genocidal atrocities, is clearly as much in reality a war crime as the US State Department and US representative to the UN Susan Rice have claimed the Syrian government has committed as it desperately attempts to restore order in the face of an admitted act of foreign aggression.

The Muslim Brotherhood is a Tool of US-Israeli-Saudi Machinations.

The Muslim Brotherhood is often portrayed as being anti-Israeli, anti-US, and anti-West in general. In reality they are a creation of and have been ever since servants of expanding Wall Street and London's corporate-financier hegemony across the Islamic World. In Hersh's 2007 report, it is made clear that the Brotherhood was the tool of choice of the US, Israeli, and Saudi elite - with the US and Saudis reported as even then directly funding and backing them - backing that continues to this day, not only in Syria, but in Egypt as well.

The Muslim Brotherhood's rank and file surely believe in what they are being told by their leaders, but their leaders are professional demagogues peddling anti-Israeli and anti-American rhetoric solely for public consumption while being fully complicit in the West's designs against the Arab World.

Hersh reports that a supporter of the Lebanese Hariri faction had met Dick Cheney in Washington and relayed personally the importance of using the Muslim Brotherhood in Syria in any move against the ruling government:

[Walid] Jumblatt then told me that he had met with Vice-President Cheney in Washington last fall to discuss, among other issues, the possibility of undermining Assad. He and his colleagues advised Cheney that, if the United States does try to move against Syria, members of the Syrian Muslim Brotherhood would be 'the ones to talk to,' Jumblatt said. - The Redirection, Seymour Hersh

The article would continue by explaining how already in 2007 US and Saudi backing had begun benefiting the Brotherhood:

There is evidence that the Administration’s redirection strategy has already benefitted the Brotherhood. The Syrian National Salvation Front is a coalition of opposition groups whose principal members are a faction led by Abdul Halim Khaddam, a former Syrian Vice-President who defected in 2005, and the Brotherhood. A former high-ranking C.I.A. officer told me, 'The Americans have provided both political and financial support. The Saudis are taking the lead with financial support, but there is American involvement.' He said that Khaddam, who now lives in Paris, was getting money from Saudi Arabia, with the knowledge of the White House. (In 2005, a delegation of the Front’s members met with officials from the National Security Council, according to press reports.) A former White House official told me that the Saudis had provided members of the Front with travel documents. -The Redirection, Seymour Hersh

It was warned that such backing would benefit the Brotherhood as a whole, not just in Syria, and could affect public opinion even as far as in Egypt where a long battle against the hardliners was fought in order to keep Egyptian governance secular.

Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, also interviewed by Hersh for his 2007 article, perhaps described best the geopolitical gambit the US, Saudi Arabia, and Israel were and are currently attempting to unfold:

Nasrallah accused the Bush Administration of working with Israel to deliberately instigate fitna, an Arabic word that is used to mean 'insurrection and fragmentation within Islam.' 'In my opinion, there is a huge campaign through the media throughout the world to put each side up against the other,' he said. 'I believe that all this is being run by American and Israeli intelligence.” (He did not provide any specific evidence for this.) He said that the U.S. war in Iraq had increased sectarian tensions, but argued that Hezbollah had tried to prevent them from spreading into Lebanon. (Sunni-Shiite confrontations increased, along with violence, in the weeks after we talked.) - The Redirection, Seymour Hersh

Indeed, divide and conquer has been used by empires since the beginning of time, and it appears that the very radical extremists the West has featured as civilization's greatest enemy in their fraudulent "War on Terror" is a creation and perpetuation of their own design. The role of Saudi Arabia and the Muslim Brotherhood, betraying millions of Sunni Muslims by exploiting their justified outrage of US-British and Israeli foreign policy, has resulted in terrorism and violence, both spontaneous and engineered, that has destroyed millions of lives. The very "War on Terror" is the "management" of these exploited and cultivated extremists:

...[Saudi Arabia's] Bandar and other Saudis have assured the White House that they will keep a very close eye on the religious fundamentalists. Their message to us was ‘We’ve created this movement, and we can control it.’ It’s not that we don’t want the Salafis to throw bombs; it’s who they throw them at—Hezbollah, Moqtada al-Sadr, Iran, and at the Syrians, if they continue to work with Hezbollah and Iran. -The Redirection, Seymour Hersh

For Empire, not National Security.

The only fault that can be found in Hersh's tremendous journalistic accomplishment is perhaps the pandering to the notion that all of this demonstrative deceit and indeed, criminality, may be being done in the interest of protecting Saudi Arabia, Israel, and the United States. In reality, even the Brookings Institution, which was also included in Hersh's report, admits that containing Iran is not a matter of national security for either the US or Israel (let alone Saudi Arabia), but a matter of maintaining the status quo, namely Western hegemony across the Middle East, with Saudi Arabia and Israel the principle dual benefactors.

While behind closed doors US policy makers admit Iran, even if it were to obtain nuclear weapons, is driven by self-preservation and protecting the influence it is steadily gaining throughout the Middle Eastern region it borders, the message they desperately seek to relate to the public is one of an irrational apocalyptic theocracy eager to usher in Armageddon.

However, reports out of the RAND corporation note that Iran has had chemical weapons in its inventory for decades, and other reports from RAND describe the strict control elite military units exercise over these weapons, making it unlikely they would end up in the hands of "terrorists." The fact that Iran's extensive chemical weapon stockpile has yet to be disseminated into the hands of non-state actors, along with the fact that these same elite units would in turn handle any Iranian nuclear weapons, lends further evidence to the conclusion that Iran is indeed driven by self-preservation and self-defense.

Brookings notes on pages 24 and 25 of their "Which Path to Persia?" report, that the real threat is not the deployment of these weapons, but rather the deterrence they present, allowing Iran to counter US influence in the region without the fear of an American invasion. The US and the West in general, have viewed the Middle East as nothing more than a divided, broken Ottoman Empire to be used and exploited, and when nationalism or resistance emerges, to be pitted against itself in destructive conflicts.

The fear of a powerful Iran overturning the status quo of Anglo-American hegemony expressed through proxies and multiple strategies of tension, Israel itself being one of them, would open the door for other nations to climb out from beneath the modern heirs of the British and French Empires and begin down the path of true self-determination. That includes freeing the people of Israel laboring under a hijacked government misleading them into a pointless and perpetual conflict with not only the Palestinians, but with the Islamic World itself.

Indeed, the ploy described in incredible detail by Seymour Hersh in 2007, and demonstratively playing out before our eyes today, is not to protect against existential threats to the people of Saudi Arabia, Israel, or the United States, but against existential threats to their leadership's self-serving hegemonic ambitions. It is being peddled by a coalition of Saudis, Americans, and Israelis lying not only to the world, their allies, and their enemies, but to their own people about the nature of the conflict they demand troops and taxpayers to facilitate.

Balking these murderous machinations is accomplished by Sunnis and Shi'ia not falling into the traps laid out by the US, Israel, and Saudi Arabia in the form of the Muslim Brotherhood, and terror groups and "civil society" NGO's alike, cultivated by these admitted international manipulators. Christians and Jews must likewise avoid the contrived "clash of civilizations" between themselves and hordes of terrorists created and cultivated by their own demagogic leaders.

Finally, it is essential that people around the world recognize that the corporations and institutions they patronize on a daily basis with their time, money, energy, and attention are the ones ultimately devising and driving not only these plots, but the disingenuous politicians and media personalities we've mistakenly placed our trust in. We must begin to boycott and replace these corporations and institutions with genuine local alternatives or suffer the tragic conclusion of allowing such deceitful megalomaniacs construct an inescapable world order they shall presume absolute dominion over.

Former terrorist receives DOJ grant money, claims watchdog group

The Obama Justice Department awarded a group headed by a domestic terrorist, -- and one-time FBI fugitive with close ties to President Barack Obama -- hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars "to reduce racial disparities in the juvenile justice system," according to a leading Inside the Beltway watchdog group.
"This is a story you likely won’t see in the mainstream media, but a reputable political magazine exposed it this week," according to officials at Judicial Watch, an organization that investigates and exposes government corruption and abuse.

Russia: Forces Unable to Destabilize Syria Turn to Lebanon

Forces which have failed to implement their plans to destabilize Syria have turned to Lebanon, Russian’s foreign ministry said on Monday.
"Moscow is seriously concerned by growing internal tensions in Lebanon. It appears that the forces that have failed to realize their plans to destabilize Syria have turned to neighboring Lebanon," the ministry said on its website.
"They clearly dislike this country's government course aimed at preventing foreign intervention in Syrian affairs and facilitating a swift peaceful settlement in Syria on the basis of Kofi Annan's plan approved by the United Nations Security Council, and the actions of military and security agencies opposing arms smuggling attempts and the trafficking of militants," the ministry said.
To attain their goals these forces are trying to stoke tensions among various Lebanese political and sectarian forces, the ministry added.

U.S. to consider sending weapons to opposition fighters in Syria

As one diplomatic effort after another fails to end more than a year of brutal violence in Syria, the Obama administration is preparing a plan that would essentially give U.S. nods of approval to arms transfers from Arab nations to some Syrian opposition fighters.
The US has been caught sending weapons to the "opposition" (actually a coup d'etat) all along. This is just propaganda to try and sell the lie that the US is responding to a crisis not of their own making.

Spain: Millions protest cuts to education funding

Most schools and universities are closed today. Both teachers and students are in the streets protesting cuts to educational funding as part of the countries' austerity measures. The government has slashed billions of Euros from the education budget.

Secret Central Bank Aid Props Up Greek Banks

There has been no official announcement. No terms or conditions have been disclosed. But Greece’s banking system is being propped up by an estimated €100 billion or so of emergency liquidity provided by the country’s central bank — approved secretly by the European Central Bank in Frankfurt. If Greece were to leave the eurozone, the immediate cause might be an ECB decision to pull the plug.
Extensive use of “emergency liquidity assistance” (ELA) to help banks in the weakest economies has been one of the less-noticed features of the eurozone crisis. Separate from normal supplies of liquidity and meant originally as a temporary facility for national authorities to use when banks hit problems, ELA proved a lifesaver for the financial system Ireland and is now even more so in Greece. As such, it has given the ECB — which has ultimate control over the facility — considerable power to determine countries’ fates.
You cannot fix a debt problem with more debt. You fix a debt problem by debt forgiveness, usually achieved when the private central bankers are on the gallows with the rope around their necks.

China Buyers Defer Raw Material Cargos

The appointment of the chairman of Japan’s publicly funded broadcaster to the board of Tokyo Electric Power Co. has raised concerns about its unbiased reporting on the utility and a possible conflict of interest.

“Why will a top executive of a media organization now join TEPCO, the most important subject of media coverage, among all possible organizations?” the official asked. [...]

Fukushima Nuclear Cesium Fallout Equals 4,023 Hiroshima Bombs

New TEPCO estimates calculate the amount of Cesium leaked from Fukushima is 24 times higher than previously thought and equal to 4,023 Hiroshima bombs.
On Wednesday, TEPCO released estimates of the amount of Cesium leaked from Fukushima that are 24 times higher than previously thought and equal to 4,023 Hiroshima bombs.
Last August the Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) estimated 15,000 tera becquerels of cesium radiation had leaked from the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant in Japan.
One tera becquerel equals 1 trillion becquerels.
At that time, the Telegraph reported the estimated cesium release was 'equal 168 Hiroshima bombs' as the atomic bomb atomic bomb dropped on Japan during World War II had only released 89 tera becquerels of cesium.
On Wednesday, TEPCO released revised estimates of the amount of radiation leaked from Fukushima.
The new estimated calculated the level of cesium released to be 360,000 tera becquerels.
That is 24 times higher than last August's estimate and represents a cesium leak equal to 4,023 Hiroshima bombs.
The estimate is also more than 4 times Chernobyl which is estimated to have released 85,000 tera becquerels of cesium radiation into atmosphere.
TEPCO's newly revised estimates of the Fukushima leak are also not all-inclusive and do not cover the entire date range from the start of the disaster.
The estimate of the total atmosphere release is based on data collected from between March 12 to 31, 2011,
TEPCO states the amount of radiation released into the atmosphere in April and during the following months is likely to be only 1% of the amount released in March.
That amount is considered to be 'insignificant' and is not included in the new estimate.
The estimated amount of radiation leaked into Pacific Ocean was extrapolated from data collected from March 26 to September 30, 2011.
TEPCO warned this data was collected from a 'small amount of data acquired in a limited area'  and further warned 'further data still needs to be collected to review the validity' of their estimates.
The new estimate also did not provide figures for the amount of radiation leaked into the water pits that run beneath the Fukushima's nuclear reactors or for radiation leaked into contaminated water that TEPCO has collected into storage tanks.
Last June, TEPCO estimated the amount of radiation leaked into the underground water pits to be up to nearly to two times higher than the amount of radiation released into the atmosphere.

If there ever existed a threat that could cause the end of the world as we know it, it’s the ongoing and unresolved nuclear saga in Japan:

When the highly radioactive Spent Fuel Rods are exposed to air, there will be massive explosions releasing many times the amount or radiation released thus far. Bizarrely, they are stored three stories above ground in open concrete storage pools. Whether through evaporation of the water in the pools, or due to the inevitable further collapse of the structure, there is a severe risk. United States public health authorities agree that tens of thousands of North Americans have already died from the Fukushima calamity. When the final cataclysm occurs, sooner rather than later, the whole Northern Hemisphere is at risk of becoming largely uninhabitable.

Fact. On March 11, 2011, Fukushima Daichi nuclear power station with six nuclear reactors suffered cataclysmic damage that some believe was a man made event,and the resulting Tsunami. Hydrogen explosions…at least one nuclear explosion… and then subsequent deterioration of the visible plants at five of those reactors have created a threat situation unparalleled in human history.

Fact. Despite denial and cover-up, the reality has emerged, that enormous amounts of radioactive material has been spewing into the atmosphere, polluting the groundwater, and the food of Japan, and entering by the tens of millions of gallons the waters of the Pacific.

There’s no way to sugarcoat these facts. Denying them, blocking them out, pretending that they are not real is of no help to you and your family, and it leaves you totally unprepared for a danger that the Natural Solutions Foundation has been warning about since the first day. As of three weeks ago the levels of radiation inside of the spent fuel pools of unit no. 2 are too high to measure. Get that… too high to measure. And, the water there is evaporating, meaning that heat and radiation could easily build to very high levels.

Very simply put, if this much Cesium 137 is released, it will destroy the world environment and our civilization. This is not rocket science, nor does it connect to the pugulistic debate over nuclear power plants.

This is an issue of human survival.

We can play the denial game all day long and pretend that, because the mainstream media is not reporting on it, there is no threat, but the facts are quite clear.
This is, without a doubt, the most immediate threat faced by the world. It’s so serious, in fact, that the Japanese government has considered and put into place evacuation plans for the whole of Tokyo – some 40 million people. Reports are also emerging that suggest a collapse of the spent fuel pools would be so serious that the entire country of Japan may have to be evacuated. The entire country – that’s 125 million refugees that will cause an unprecedented humanitarian disaster.
Before you argue that these are the ravings of just alternative media conspiracy theorists and fearmongers, consider the assessment put forth by Robert Alvarez , a senior policy adviser to the Secretary for National Security and the Environment for the US Department of Energy:

The No. 4 pool is about 100 feet above ground, is structurally damaged and is exposed to the open elements. If an earthquake or other event were to cause this pool to drain this could result in a catastrophic radiological fire involving nearly 10 times the amount of Cs-137 released by the Chernobyl accident.

The infrastructure to safely remove this material was destroyed as it was at the other three reactors.  Spent reactor fuel cannot be simply lifted into the air by a crane as if it were routine cargo.  In order to prevent severe radiation exposures, fires and possible explosions, it must be transferred at all times in water and heavily shielded structures into dry casks.. As this has never been done before, the removal of the spent fuel from the pools at the damaged Fukushima-Dai-Ichi reactors will require a major and time-consuming re-construction effort and will be charting in unknown waters.

The total spent reactor fuel inventory at the Fukushima-Daichi site contains nearly half of  the total amount of Cs-137 estimated by the NCRP to have been released by all atmospheric nuclear weapons testing, Chernobyl, and world-wide reprocessing plants (~270 million curies or ~9.9 E+18 Becquerel).

It is important for the public to understand that reactors that have been operating for decades, such as those at the Fukushima-Dai-Ichi site, have generated some of the largest concentrations of radioactivity on the planet.

UN Says Radiation Levels are Safe, Despite Empirical Data on Fukushima

First the UN’s International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) claimed that their research confirms Japanese milk and vegetables are safe for human consumption. They reported that radiation levels are below cancer-causing levels.
Here is a short list of the half-life of five of the radioactive isotopes in the air, food and water that are poisoning us and children:
- Cesium 137: 30 years
- Plutonium 239: 24,000 years
- Strontium 90: 29 years [mimics calcium in the body]
- Uranium 235: 700-million years
- Iodine 131: 8 days [absorbed into the thyroid and gives heavy radiation dose]
Here in the US, the EnviroReporter, through their Inspector Alert nuclear radiation monitor, conducted over 1,500 radiation tests after a severe storm in Southern California. The findings were astounding.
The radiation levels were the highest ever seen; at 506% above normal background levels.
