US-led West will block trial of Israeli leaders at ICC: Hani al-Bassous

A political analyst says that the US and some of the European countries are still standing along side the Israelis and supporting them and they will not make it easy for anyone to bring any of the Israeli leaders to justice.
The comments came after Human Rights Watch (HRW) condemned the Israeli regime for violating the laws of war during its eight-day assault on the Gaza Strip in 2012. Individuals who deliberately order or take part in attacks targeting civilians or civilian objects are responsible for war crimes, the right group noted.

Pope Benedict resigned to avoid arrest, seizure of church wealth by Easter

Diplomatic Note was issued to Vatican just prior to his resignation

New Pope and Catholic clergy face indictment and arrest as "Easter Reclamation" plan continues

A Global Media Release and Statement from The International Tribunal into Crimes of Church and State

Brussels:
The historically unprecedented resignation of Joseph Ratzinger as Pope this week was compelled by an upcoming action by a European government to issue an arrest warrant against Ratzinger and a public lien against Vatican property and assets by Easter.
The ITCCS Central Office in Brussels is compelled by Pope Benedict's sudden abdication to disclose the following details:
1. On Friday, February 1, 2013, on the basis of evidence supplied by our affiliated Common Law Court of Justice (itccs.org), our Office concluded an agreement with representatives of a European nation and its courts to secure an arrest warrant against Joseph Ratzinger, aka Pope Benedict, for crimes against humanity and ordering a criminal conspiracy.
2. This arrest warrant was to be delivered to the office of the "Holy See" in Rome on Friday, February 15, 2013. It allowed the nation in question to detain Ratzinger as a suspect in a crime if he entered its sovereign territory.
3. A diplomatic note was issued by the said nation's government to the Vatican's Secretary of State, Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone, on Monday, February 4, 2013, informing Bertone of the impending arrest warrant and inviting his office to comply. No reply to this note was received from Cardinal Bertone or his office; but six days later, Pope Benedict resigned.
4. The agreement between our Tribunal and the said nation included a second provision to issue a commercial lien through that nation's courts against the property and wealth of the Roman Catholic church commencing on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2013. This lien was to be accompanied by a public and global "Easter Reclamation Campaign" whereby Catholic church property was to be occupied and claimed by citizens as public assets forfeited under international law and the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.
5. It is the decision of our Tribunal and the said nation's government to proceed with the arrest of Joseph Ratzinger upon his vacating the office of the Roman Pontiff on a charge of crimes against humanity and criminal conspiracy.
6. It is our further decision to proceed as well with the indictment and arrest of Joseph Ratzinger's successor as Pope on the same charges; and to enforce the commercial lien and "Easter Reclamation Campaign" against the Roman Catholic church, as planned.
In closing, our Tribunal acknowledges that Pope Benedict's complicity in criminal activities of the Vatican Bank (IOR) was compelling his eventual dismissal by the highest officials of the Vatican. But according to our sources, Secretary of State Tarcisio Bertone forced Joseph Ratzinger's resignation immediately, and in direct response to the diplomatic note concerning the arrest warrant that was issued to him by the said nation's government on February 4, 2013.
We call upon all citizens and governments to assist our efforts to legally and directly disestablish the Vatican, Inc. and arrest its chief officers and clergy who are complicit in crimes against humanity and the ongoing criminal conspiracy to aid and protect child torture and trafficking.

Pressure grows on Pope to leave Rome after he retires so he does not interfere with successor's work

The Pope is under pressure to go into exile from Rome after he retires so that he does not interfere with the work of his successor, senior Roman Catholic sources indicated yesterday.
There is growing evidence that several cardinals are anxious that Benedict XVI should not carry through his plan to live in an apartment block inside the walls of the Vatican.
They fear the close presence of a retired Pope will create difficulties for the new man who will take over the Papacy this spring.
The suggestion that Benedict should be effectively evicted from his planned retreat and dismissed from Rome came just two days after the Pope’s sudden announcement of his resignation threw the church’s leadership into turmoil.

The area of the accident is estimated about 600 square metres, (6,500 square feet), the emergency agency said.
A statement on the website of the power station described the accident as the “partial failure of the wall slabs and light roof of the Unit 4 Turbine Hall”. [...]

According to the World Gold Council’s Q4 2012 report issued today, Global gold demand in Q4 2012 reached 1,195.9 tonnes, up 4% from Q4 2011. In value terms gold demand for the quarter was 6% higher year-on-year at $66.2bn marking the highest ever Q4 total and driving annual demand in 2012 to a record value of US$236.4bn.
Gold demand ended a challenging year on a strong note, with a level of demand in Q4 2012 second only to the record level in Q3 2011, highlighting gold’s ongoing attraction and resilience to economic uncertainty. Overall gold demand remains above the five year average with demand in Q4 2012 driven by India, China and the official sector.

Soaring prices and stagnant growth: Grim outlook for UK economy as Bank of England warns inflation to top 3% by summer

Families will suffer even tighter squeezes to their budgets as inflation is set to rise above three per cent by the summer, according to predictions today by the Bank of England.
High inflation combined with stagnant growth forebode a difficult road to economic recovery, the Bank warned in its Quarterly Inflation Report.
Inflation, which is already running at 2.7 per cent, is expected to soar further thanks to rising utility bills and the impact of rising university tuition fees, it said. It could remain above the two per cent target for another two years, the Bank added.

Petrogold: Are Russia And China Hoarding Gold Because They Plan To Kill The Petrodollar?

Russia and China have a tremendous amount of leverage when it comes to energy. What if they got together with a bunch of oil producing nations in the Middle East and decided to set up a system where oil is traded for gold? Would not much of the rest of the world go along with such a system?
Of course if that happened the U.S. financial system would crash. We would no longer be able to export our inflation to the rest of the globe and prices would rise dramatically. Demand for U.S. government debt would go through the floor and interest rates on that debt and on everything else in our economy would skyrocket. Economic activity would grind to a standstill and the financial markets would collapse.
And that would just be for starters.
Most Americans simply don't understand that Russia and China have the power to collapse the U.S. economy by going to a gold for oil system. All they have to do is pull the trigger.

The Head of Goldman Sachs Wants to Raise Your Retirement Age

Lloyd Blankfein, the 57-year-old CEO of Goldman Sachs, who was paid more than $16 million dollars last year, appeared on CBS last night to talk about the Fiscal Cliff and lay some truth on the American people: You all need to work longer.
You can look at history of these things, and Social Security wasn't devised to be a system that supported you for a 30-year retirement after a 25-year career. ... So there will be things that, you know, the retirement age has to be changed, maybe some of the benefits have to be affected, maybe some of the inflation adjustments have to be revised. But in general, entitlements have to be slowed down and contained.

Moyen-Orient:

Imminent Muslim Terror Threat Debunked by New Study

Brandon Turbeville
Activist Post

According to a study conducted by the Triangle Center on Terrorism and Homeland Security which was released Friday, February 1, 2013, the original post-9/11 threat of Muslim terrorism that was used to justify the dismantling of the Constitution and the evisceration of civil liberties is exactly what many researchers and activists have been pointing out for years – virtually nonexistent.

In direct contradiction to the constant propaganda and baseless claims from law enforcement officials that terrorists and terrorist plots are being
uncovered and stopped every day, the fact is that the official numbers of “terrorist incidents” are dramatically lower. Indeed, these numbers are so low, and are themselves replete with such questionable circumstances, one could make the argument that aside from the occasional psychotic, the threat of such terrorism inside the U.S. does not legitimately exist at all.

According to the study, out of a population of millions of people, only 14 were indicted for involvement in nine different terrorist plots in 2012, itself a decline from 2011. Indeed, fourteen is a much lower number than what may be initially expected considering the level of fear-based propaganda being served to the American people on a daily basis.

Yet nine terrorist plots are terrorist plots nonetheless. So what of these terrorist plots? And what of the of the terrorist plots which were foiled in previous years?

Interestingly enough, the Triangle Center study tracks indictments not convictions, meaning that, theoretically, although fourteen individuals were indicted and included in the statistics, all fourteen of them could eventually be found innocent during the course of a trial, while still remaining on the data sheet as a disrupted terrorist.

Not only that, but, while most Americans will immediately conjure up images of 9/11, beheadings, and suicide bombings at the first mention of “disrupted terrorist plots,” the fact is that these disrupted plots are not all violent in nature. Partly due to legal technicalities, as well as the broad (and broadening) definition of “terrorism” in the post-9/11 world, many of these disrupted “terrorist plots” consist of money laundering, material support for terrorism, and lying to investigators.

Potential crimes? Yes. But not exactly another 9/11.

Furthermore, as the Triangle Center study admits, “informants and undercover agents,” were intricately involved in “almost all of the Muslim-American terrorist plots uncovered in 2012.”

Indeed, this fact is not just applicable to the “terrorist plots” which were uprooted in 2012, but the
majority of those disrupted ever since 9/11. Clearly, one can even attribute 9/11 itself to the same circumstances. This is because virtually every terrorist attack to occur or even be attempted inside the United States in recent memory has been wholly hatched by the FBI, CIA, or other related agencies including but not limited to the U.S. State Department.

Even the New York Times was forced to admit as much in an article by David Shipley, entitled, “
Terrorist Plots, Hatched By The F.B.I.”  Shipley describes the nature of entrapment and direction provided to the unwitting dupes who were subsequently busted for their intellectual malfeasance and moral gullibility. At best, the FBI’s and related agencies’ tactics are cynical and illegal. At worst, it is treason.

In reality, of course, the constant replay of the threat of terrorism – whatever form it may take (Muslim or “right wing”) – is nothing more than an attempt to stampede the general public into an even bigger dragnet of surveillance and police state domination. Thus, what does not exist naturally must be created artificially.

While not going as far as the above explanation for the data which appears in the Triangle Center study, UNC sociologist Charles Kurzman still provided what should be a sobering reminder to an American public that is constantly afraid of a Muslim terrorist attack when he stated to Danger Room,

‘Until public opinion starts to recognize the scale of the problem has been lower than we feared, my sense is that public officials are not going to change their policies,’ Kurzman says. ‘Counterterrorism policies have involved surveillance — not just of Muslim-Americans, but of all Americans, and the fear of terrorism has justified intrusions on American privacy and civil liberties all over the internet and other aspects of our lives. I think the implications here are not just for how we treat a religious minority in the U.S., but also how we treat the rights & liberties of everyone.’

Voting machines used by as many as a quarter of American voters heading to the polls in 2012 can be hacked with just $10.50 in parts and an 8th grade science education, according to computer science and security experts at the Vulnerability Assessment Team at Argonne National Laboratory in Illinois. The experts say the newly developed hack could change voting results while leaving absolutely no trace of the manipulation behind.

As election drama intensifies in Venezuela, Anglo-American plans to initiate yet another destabilization effort in a sovereign nation seem to be manifesting via the usual suspects – American ambassadorial staff and the Council on Foreign Relations.
Under the leadership of President Hugo Chavez, Venezuela has been a stalwart source of resistance to the plans of the Anglo-Americans for several years, particularly since the George W. Bush administration and, like all other imperialist policies, continuing through the Obama administration.
Likewise, for just as long, Chavez’ government has been the target of US/NATO-backed destabilization efforts, covert operations, and political pressure.

The United States on Friday removed the terrorist organization Mujahideen-e Khalq (MEK), an exile Iranian group in Iraq, from its list of foreign terrorist organizations.
The decision made by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton enabled the group, also known as the People’s Mujahedeen of Iran, to have its assets under U.S. jurisdiction unfrozen and do business with American entities, the State Department said.

Nato air strike kills civilians in eastern Afghanistan, officials say

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2013/feb/13/nato-air-strike-civilians-afghanistan
A Nato air strike in eastern Afghanistan has killed 10 civilians, five of them children, and wounded five other children, Afghan officials said.

A firefight broke out between U.S. forces and their Afghan army allies in eastern Afghanistan Sunday, killing two Americans and three Afghan soldiers and pushing the number of U.S. troops killed in the long-running war 2,000.
The fighting started Saturday when what is believed to have been a mortar fired by insurgents struck a checkpoint set up by U.S. forces in Wardak province, said Shahidullah Shahid, a provincial government spokesman. He said the Americans thought they were under attack from a nearby Afghan army checkpoint and fired on it, prompting the Afghan soldiers to return fire.
The Afghan Defense Ministry said the gunbattle was the result of a "misunderstanding" between international forces and Afghan soldiers manning a checkpoint in the Sayd Abad district.
The only reason, ultimately, that the US and NATO are still in country here is to support a publicly funded war, ultimately for private profit.
Since the inception of the US/NATO occupation, cheap, pure heroin has been flowing like wine, the dollars are getting laundered by corporate banks.
IF the TAPI pipeline ever gets built, bringing natural gas from Turkmenistan to Pakistan, there will be a lot of corporate profit. If the wealth of minerals is ever exploited, there will be a lot of corporate profit. And China is already making moves toward developing a copper mine here.
And it is a race to see which other countries' corporations will win the big business prizes here.

Two years on, Benghazi is out of control

As night fell over Benghazi, a familiar sound echoed across the eastern Libyan city – an explosion, and then gunfire. A bomb had just been thrown at a police car on patrol, injuring an officer.
Politicians said they would do many things but there was no change. People say they will do another revolution
It was the latest of many attacks on local security forces. Two months before, the man whose job it was to ensure Benghazi was safe, the police chief, was shot dead outside his home.
Two years after Libya’s second city kindled the uprising that ousted Muammar Gaddafi, it epitomises a popular revolution gone awry, with rival militias and Islamist gunmen more powerful than the police, moving residents to ask: where is the state?
It's right over there, inside your brand new shiny private central bank!

Iran Sanction Bill Exempts BP Project

British and European Union officials have convinced some U.S. lawmakers to ensure that any new sanctions against Iran exempt a BP BP +0.02% PLC-led natural-gas project, as Western governments try to isolate Tehran without harming their own energy security.
The $20 billion project in the Caspian Sea off Azerbaijan is seen as key to alleviating Europe's dependence on Russia as its largest supplier of natural gas.

The other side of French airstrikes on Mali: ‘They ruined everything I had'

Some of the civilians disagree!
“I wasn’t home when the bombing began. I started praying when I learned my house was under attack. They ruined everything I had – my family and my livelihood. [My children were 11, 10, and 6]. They all died,” Idrís Meiga, a farmer from Konna, told RT.
Meiga’s story is not unique. In fact, it is becoming all too common to hear of similar tragedies in northern Mali.
“Some kids came running up to us and said their mom had died. I brought them to our house. Their mother died after an hour of clinging to life. The children have nobody else but us,” resident Abdul Kampó said.
Another story involved a mother who died from shell splinters, leaving three children behind – including a newborn baby.
Two young brothers drowned in a nearby river as they attempted to flee from the fighting.
These residents refuse to be persuaded by military claims of “victory.”

Malians tell of executions by soldiers

Mohamed, 36, was at home in Siribala last month under a shade-giving canopy after lunchtime prayers when a loud crowd of fellow villagers approached his gate, accompanied by two Malian army SUVs.
The soldiers, who had heard spiteful rumors that Mohamed was collaborating with the Islamists, got out and shot him dead, along with his uncle Samba Dicko, 72, witnesses said, one of a series of summary executions by the army in recent months.
"All the people accused us, saying we were friends of bad people," said Mohamed's elderly cousin Agaly ag Noa, wearing a traditional indigo turban and a wispy beard.
"You could hear them from my house," said Noa, who had fled to his own house, 100 yards away, just before the SUVs arrived. "I felt such big pain I can't describe it, and the shock is still going on."

France is not responsible for civilian deaths in Mali strikes – Defense Ministry

We aren't responsible for civilian deaths and besides there aren't any civilian deaths.
France cannot be held responsible for the deaths of civilians in Mali, a representative of the Ministry of Defense told RT. France denies reports of civilian casualties in military airstrikes, stating it has no evidence to support the claims.
Amnesty International has called on the French government to conduct a probe into reports of civilian deaths during the Mali campaign, which began on January 11. The organization claim at least five civilians, including a woman and her three children were killed during an offensive on the town of Konna.

Full-scale invasion as the United States deploys troops in 35 African countries

A full-scale invasion of Africa is under way. The United States is deploying troops in 35 African countries, beginning with Libya, Sudan, Algeria and Niger. Reported by Associated Press on Christmas Day, this was missing from most Anglo-American media.
The invasion has almost nothing to do with “Islamism”, and almost everything to do with the acquisition of resources, notably minerals, and an accelerating rivalry with China.
Unlike China, the US and its allies are prepared to use a degree of violence demonstrated in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen and Palestine.
As in the cold war, a division of labour requires that western journalism and popular culture provide the cover of a holy war against a “menacing arc” of Islamic extremism, no different from the bogus “red menace” of a worldwide communist conspiracy.
There are three primary reasons the US military goes to war these days; to access natural resources to which it has absolutely no moral or legal right; to prop up a failing petrodollar; and to "neutralize" all of Israel's alleged "existential threats" in the region, which pretty much means all of its neighbors in the Middle East.

With US Approval, Israel Plans Syria Escalation

Source: The Times
Few things seem to get Israeli officials planning as quickly as a US imprimatur to launch an attack. Having been given the green light not just for Wednesday’s attacks but for other, future attacks Israel is now said to be planning a dramatic escalation.
The new Israeli plan, under consideration by its leadership, calls not only for additional strikes inside Syria but a full-scale ground invasion across the Purple Line, seizing a 10 mile “buffer zone” on the other side of the line in which to install la

Pentagon in favor of arming Syrian rebels

The outgoing leader of the United States Department of Defense told Congress on Thursday that the Pentagon favors a plan to arm the Syrian rebels attempting to oust President Bashar al-Assad.
US Defense Secretary Leon Panetta told lawmakers in Washington Thursday morning that he supports an initiative introduced by then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton that would have equipped anti-Assad rebels with American weaponry. The plan, hatched by Sec. Clinton and endorsed by both Sec. Panetta and the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, was opposed by Pres. Barack Obama, who instead has sought more diplomatic solutions to the Middle East uprising.
For the last two years, any attempts by the West to arm and train these rebels against the Al-Assad regime has been an epic fail.
What may well happen is an outright invasion of Syria by Israel, and/or the US military, on some false flag pretext, like a chemical weapons false-flag.

Report: Israel to Declare 'Buffer Zone' on Syrian Border

Israel intends to declare a buffer zone inside the Syrian border to prevent terrorists from getting too close to its territory when the embattled Damascus regime topples, security sources quoted by the AFP news agency said on Sunday.
Note that Israel does not use their own land for a buffer zone, but land belonging to other people.

Russian state arms dealer to continue defense systems to Syria

Russia said Wednesday it was delivering military hardware and light weapons to the governments of Syria and Mali as it expands sales and maintains its footing in some of the world’s deadliest conflicts.
The head of Russia’s arms exporter Rosoboronexport, Anatoly Isaikin, said Russian deliveries to the Syrian regime of President Bashar al-Assad included air defence systems but not the advanced Iskander missiles sought by Damascus.
“We are continuing to fulfil our obligations on contracts for the delivery of military hardware,” Isaikin was quoted as saying by the Interfax news agency.
He also rejected reports that Russia was planning to supply advanced MiG29-M fighters to Damascus while confirming that it had a deal outstanding for Yak-130 trainer jets.
Isaikin said Syria currently ranked “13th or 14th in terms of volume” on the list of nations receiving Russian arms supplies.
We have Russian trainers working with the Syrian military, and Western-backed trainers working the rebels. The violence is escalating, because the West wants to see a regime change in Damascus as the prelude to a regime change in Tehran.
And almost two years after this foreign-sponsored insurgency, Al Assad seems no closer to leaving his position than when when it started.
I think, after the meeting between Obama and Netanyahu in Tel Aviv on the 20th of next month, we may potentially see a huge escalation in fighting, and that may be coupled with a false flag of some kind which will be blamed on the Syrian government, and used as the pretext for an outright invasion, under the "RPT" (responsibility to protect" rationale used by NATO in the invasion and regime change in Libya.
Any way you slice it, the outcome for the Syrian people appears very bleak, with no real way for them to have a voice in how their country will be governed in the future.

Russian Military Source: Syria Received Panzer-C1 Air Defense Systems

MOSCOW, (SANA) – A Russian military source said Syria received a batch of anti-aircraft missiles and Panzer-C1 air defense systems at the beginning of the current year.
The source said that the air defense systems were delivered in accordance with signed contracts between the two countries, pointing out that these systems were shipped to Syria by sea.
Anatoly Isaykin, Director of the Russian Rosoboronexport Firm, stressed that technical military cooperation with Syria is progressing under international law, indicating that his country exported air defense systems to Syria according to signed contracts.

Syrian civil war edges closer as seven rebels taken to Israeli hospital

IDF forces gave medical assistance on Saturday to seven injured Syrian nationals near the border in Israel’s north. The men, who are likely rebels wounded by pro-Assad forces, were then taken to a Safed hospital for further treatment.
On Saturday afternoon, IDF soldiers noticed five wounded men near the border fence in the northern Golan Heights. Later on they located two more wounded men. After being treated on site, they were transferred to Ziv hospital.

On January 22 a telling leak cropped up in the Internet. British defense contractor’s BRITAM server was hacked and megabytes of classified internal files of the firm were released to the public. Now the case is acquiring a Britamgate scale due to the publication on Prison Planet. What is the story behind the leakage? Why this scandal is likely to turn around the situation in Syria?
" Phil
We’ve got a new offer. It’s about Syria again. Qataris propose an attractive deal and swear that the idea is approved by Washington.
We’ll have to deliver a CW to Homs, a Soviet origin g-shell from Libya similar to those that Assad should have.
They want us to deploy our Ukrainian personnel that should speak Russian and make a video record.
Frankly, I don’t think it’s a good idea but the sums proposed are enormous. Your opinion?
Kind regards David"
What is almost more scandalous than what is proposed here (creating a false flag to be blamed on the Syrian government) is that this is business as usual for this alleged "defense company", and many others like it.

Barak, Panetta Meet at the Pentagon

Defense Minister Ehud Barak held talks on Tuesday with Pentagon chief Leon Panetta that were expected to focus on the conflict in Syria and on Iran's nuclear program, U.S. officials said, according to AFP.
The meeting comes shortly after an alleged Israeli air raid against a Syrian regime target, which renewed debate in Washington over arming Syria's rebels and fresh concerns about Iran's nuclear program.
It was the second time this year that the two defense chiefs, who are both due to step down soon, held talks in Washington.
In light of the fact that both officials are stepping down soon, the timing of this meeting strikes me as more than a little odd.
And I have to speculate: is Israel planning one large attack against Syria and/or Iran before Obama comes to Tel Aviv on the 20th of next month?
I mention this because the Israeli government is having their school kids do "rocket preparedness drills"; Israeli jets are continuing to illegally overfly Lebanon; the IDF has just put its cyber-defense control center on line; and the IDF Home Front Command is doing military drills over Coastal Israel toward the end of this week.
All these actions, on the part of the Israeli government and military, taken together, may well be the fore-runners of something very nasty Israel is about to do in the very near future.
And if Hagel, who the Israeli government despises, is confirmed by the Senate shortly, he may well be walking into an Israeli-generated war in the region he cannot undo, and will then have no choice but to see it through to the bitter end.

The NUMEC Cover-Up: The Diversion of U.S. Weapons Grade Uranium from NUMEC to Israel

On January 31, 2013 the Institute for Research: Middle Eastern Policy hosted a public education event just north of Apollo Pennsylvania. Author Grant F. Smith discussed key findings from his 2012 book, "Divert! NUMEC, Zalman Shapiro, and the Diversion of US Weapons-Grade Uranium into the Israeli Nuclear Weapons Program" at the Parks Township Volunteer Fire Hall.
Smith's talk covered the corporate histories of NUMEC and Apollo Industries, how regulators dealt with the plant's massive losses of bomb-grade nuclear material, the FBI's investigation of NUMEC's joint venture with a front for Israel's nuclear weapons program, and the ongoing clandestine interactions of NUMEC executives with Israeli intelligence and covert nuclear weapons program operatives.

'7,500 US officials serve Israel interest, Tel Aviv biggest threat to US'

http://www.presstv.ir/detail/2012/09/30/264293/7500-us-officials-serve-israel-interest/
An international lawyer says while the US Intelligence Community (IC) considers Israel the greatest threat to America’s national interests, there are about 7,500 US officials “who do Israel’s bidding,” serving Tel Aviv’s interests with no reservation.
In an article published on Press TV website, Franklin Lamb noted that a study commissioned by the US Intelligence Community earlier this year, has reached the conclusion that the American national interest in fundamentally at odds with that of Zionist Israel.
“It’s … an 82-page analysis [entitled: Preparing For A Post Israel Middle East] that concludes that … Israel is currently the greatest threat to US national interests because its nature and actions prevent normal US relations with Arab and Muslim countries and, to a growing degree, the wider international community,” Lamb added.

The IC-commissioned study clearly stated that Israel is grossly interfering in the internal affairs of the United States through spying and illegal US arms transfers.

The 120-nation Non-Aligned Movement on Friday demanded that Israel join the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty without precondition and further delay.

New Yorker magazine editor and Pulitzer-Prize winning author David Remnick accused Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday of endangering Israel, interfering in U.S. elections and aligning with Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney in a "neocon strategy" against U.S. President Obama.
In a biting blog post in the magazine on Wednesday, Remnick accused Netanyahu of doing more “than any other political figure to embolden and elevate the reactionary forces in Israel, to eliminate the dwindling possibility of a just settlement with the Palestinians, and to isolate his country on the world diplomatic stage.”

Henry KISSINGER. Former secretary of state. Current savant of the state of the world. Do not argue with Mr. Kissinger’s know-how. He already knows how.
Middle East horror. Democratic party dissing Jerusalem. DC’s anti-Israel mentality. Obama, busy raising re-election funds, no time for beleaguered Netanyahu. The Oval Office attitude versus the Red Line. Iran’s oath to destroy our only friend in that part of the world.
Reported to me, Henry Kissinger has stated — and I quote the statement word for word: “In 10 years, there will be no more Israel.”
I repeat: “In 10 years, there will be no more Israel.”

Kissinger, US intelligence community endorse “World Without Israel”

Posted on by NC
http://fromthetrenchesworldreport.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/burning-israeli-flag-300x168.jpgPress TV  Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has been vilified in the Western media for daring to imagine “a world without Israel.”
But according to news reports, Henry Kissinger and sixteen American intelligence agencies agree that in the near future, Israel will no longer exist.

The New York Post quotes Kissinger “word for word”: In 10 years, there will be no more Israel.
Kissinger’s statement is flat and unqualified. He is not saying that Israel is in danger, but could be saved if we just gave it additional trillions of dollars and smashed enough of its enemies with our military. He is not saying that if we elect Netanyahu’s old friend Mitt Romney, Israel could somehow be salvaged. He is not saying that if we bomb Iran, Israel might survive. He is not offering a way out. He is simply stating a fact: In 2022, Israel will no longer exist.
The US Intelligence Community agrees, though perhaps not on the precise 2022 expiration date. Sixteen US intelligence agencies with a combined budget over USD70 billion have issued an 82-page analysis titled “Preparing for a Post-Israel Middle East.”
The US intelligence report observes that the 700,000 Israeli settlers illegally squatting on land stolen in 1967 – land that the entire world agrees belongs to Palestine, not Israel – are not going to pack up and leave peacefully. Since the world will never accept their ongoing presence on stolen land, Israel is like South Africa in the late 1980s.
The extremist Likud coalition governing Israel, according to the US intelligence report, is increasingly condoning and supporting rampant violence and lawlessness by illegal settlers. The report states that the brutality and criminality of the settlers, and the growing apartheid-style infrastructure including the apartheid wall and the ever-more-draconian system of checkpoints, are indefensible, unsustainable, and out of synch with American values.
The sixteen US intelligence agencies agree that Israel cannot withstand the coming pro-Palestinian juggernaut consisting of the Arab Spring, the Islamic Awakening, and the rise of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
In the past, dictatorships in the region kept a lid on the pro-Palestinian aspirations of their people. But those dictatorships began to topple with the fall of the pro-Israel Shah of Iran in 1979 and the establishment of a democratic Islamic Republic, whose government had little choice but to reflect its people’s opposition to Israel. The same process – the overthrow of dictators who worked with, or at least tolerated, Israel – is now accelerating throughout the region. The result will be governments that are more democratic, more Islamic, and far less friendly to Israel.
The US intelligence community report says that in light of these realities, the US government simply no longer has the military and financial resources to continue propping up Israel against the wishes of more than a billion of its neighbors. In order to normalize relations with 57 Islamic countries, the report suggests, the US will have to follow its own national interests and pull the plug on Israel.
Interestingly, neither Henry Kissinger nor the authors of the US Intelligence Report give any sign that they are going to mourn the demise of Israel. This is remarkable, given that Kissinger is Jewish and has always been viewed as a friend (if occasionally a tough friend) of Israel, and that all Americans, including those who work for intelligence agencies, have been influenced by the strongly pro-Israel media.
What explains such complacency?
Americans who pay attention to international affairs – a category that surely includes Kissinger and the authors of the Intelligence Report – are growing fed up with Israeli intransigence and fanaticism. Netanyahu’s bizarre, widely-ridiculed performance at the United Nations, where he brandished a cartoonish caricature of a bomb in such a way that he himself came across as a caricature of a “mad Zionist,” was the latest in a series of gaffes by Israeli leaders who seem prone to overplaying their hand.
A second factor is the festering resentment many Americans feel over the Israel Lobby’s imperious domination of public discourse. Every time a well-known American journalist is fired for going “off-script” about Israel, as happened to Helen Thomas and Rick Sanchez, a mostly-invisible backlash, like a tidal wave rippling beneath the surface of the ocean, grows in power. And every time the Israel lobby slaps down someone like Maureen Dowd, who recently observed that the same Israel-fanatics who dragged the US into the Iraq war are now trying to do the same thing with Iran, the more people begin to wake up and realize that people like Dowd, Thomas, and Sanchez are speaking the truth.
A third reason for complacency in the face of Israel’s impending demise: The American Jewish community is no longer united in support of Israel, much less its Likudnik leadership. Sophisticated Jewish journalists and analysts like Philip Weiss are recognizing the insanity of Israel’s current leadership and the hopelessness of its predicament. According to recent reports, it is no longer fashionable among young American Jews to care about Israel. And despite Netanyahu’s frantic attempts to sway Jewish voters toward the Mormon Likudnik Mitt Romney, polls show that Obama, who is on record saying he “hates” the “liar” Netanyahu, will easily win the majority of Jewish votes.
Finally, we come to the least obvious – but most powerful – reason for Kissinger’s and the CIA’s complacency in the face of Israel’s implosion: The inexorable trickle-down of knowledge that Israel and its supporters, not radical Muslims, carried out the 9/11 false-flag attacks.
Increasingly, it is not fringe anti-Semitic groups, but high-level responsible observers, who are saying this. Alan Sabrosky, the half-Jewish former Director of Strategic Studies at the US Army War College, has come on my radio show to say that he has discussed with his colleagues the “100% certainty” that Israel and its supporters did 9/11. And Alan Hart, the former lead BBC correspondent for the Middle East (and personal friend of Golda Meir and Yasser Arafat) has also come on my radio show to break the story that he, too, knows that Israel and company orchestrated 9/11.
Today, we even have a presidential candidate, Merlin Miller, who is on the record stating that Israel, not al-Qaeda, carried out the 9/11 attacks.
The chief purpose of 9/11 was to “seal in blood” an intense, unbreakable emotional bond between the US and Israel, in a desperate bid to assure Israel’s survival by launching a long-term US war against Israel’s enemies. As the “dancing Israelis” arrested for celebrating the 9/11 operation tried to convince the police: “Our enemies are your enemies. The Palestinians are your enemies.”
But more and more Americans, including the US intelligence community as a whole, now recognize that the enemies of Israel (the entire Muslim world of over 1.5 billion people, along with most of the non-European world) do not have to be the enemies of the United States. In fact, the US is going broke and sacrificing thousands of lives in wars for Israel – wars that damage, rather than aid, US strategic interests. (One of those interests, of course, is buying oil and gas from stable, cooperative governments.)
As the recognition grows that 9/11 was not a radical Islamic attack, but an act of dastardly, bloody treason by supporters of Israel, it will become ever-easier for American policy makers, following in the footsteps of Kissinger and the sixteen intelligence agencies, to recognize the obvious: Israel has reached the end of its shelf-life.

7 Top Things You Should Know About Gaza

1. Gaza is Always Under Siege
Israel controls the airspace, waters, and borders of Gaza (with the exception of Rafah, the border with
Egypt). Israel controls the electrical and sewage infrastructure of Gaza, and how much food, fuel and
other supplies can arrive and leave, giving it almost total control over the economy. Palestinians in
Gaza do not have the freedom to leave at will, to visit relatives in the West Bank, or get adequate
health care. 1.7 million Palestinians are crammed into 140 square miles, making it one of the most
crowded places on earth.
In other words, even on the best of days, when Israel is not bombing Gaza, it is largely responsible for
holding 1.7 million people captive in miserable conditions. According to international law, by maintaining
“effective control” of Gaza, Israel still meets the definition of occupying power. This status
has been affirmed by the Red Cross, Amnesty International, the U.N., and the U.S. State Department,
among others.
2. Asymmetry of Power
This “conflict” cannot be called a war. This is an assault by one of the most advanced militaries in the
world with the full backing, and weaponry, of the U.S., the sole world super power. By every measure,
including fatalities, fatalities of civilians, injuries, and destruction of infrastructure, the disproportionate
impact on Gaza is clear. While there is no excuse for attacks on civilians, whether in Israel or in
the U.S., the threat from Gaza to Israel and Israelis is no comparison to the harm being inflicted on
Gaza.
3. Collective Punishment
Israel claims that this war is against Hamas. But so far (as of November 20th), well over half the
fatalities have been to civilians, including large numbers of women and children. The proportion of
wounded who are civilian is even higher. Targeting civilians is a war crime and contrary to international
law.
4. Who Started The Fighting?
While the predominant narrative in the media tells a story about Israel being forced to defend itself,
the truth is that Israel has repeatedly broken truces with Hamas, including in this latest escalation.
Until November of this year, one Israeli had been killed by fire from Gaza in 2012, while 78 Palestinians
had been killed by Israeli attacks.
On November 8th, five days before coverage of this latest round began, a 12 year old boy in Gaza
was killed by Israeli soldiers, which drew a response from militants in Gaza. Although three more
civilians, including two children, were killed by Israeli fire during the course of several exchanges
between November 8th and 11th, Palestinian militant factions agreed to a truce on November 11th.
Most disturbingly, after two days of calm, Israel then assassinated Ahmed Jabari, the head of Hamas’s
military wing, and a relative moderate who, it is claimed by independent Israeli negotiator Gershom
Baskin, had just two hours before received a proposal for a long-term truce that had been painstakingly
developed by Israelis and Hamas officials.
out Gaza
5. Media Distortions
In U.S. publications, especially, there are routine referrals to Israeli “surgical” or “pinpoint” strikes
and to “targeted assassinations.” These terms imply a precision that does not exist, and that have
resulted in extensive civilian casualties.
News reports often refer to the “cycle of violence” as if both sides have equal power and are equally
responsible for the violence. The context of the continuing blockade of Gaza and the enormous disparities
in fire power and overall control are not mentioned.
Politicians, in the U.S. and Israel, constantly claim that Israel “has the right to defend itself” which is
dutifully repeated in news reports. If this is true, does Gaza have the right to defend itself from Israeli
attack in the same manner? There is a clear double-standard at work.
6. U.S. Role
Israel could not continue this assault if the Obama administration and Congress did not approve it. In
fact, President Obama has said, “Israel has every right to expect that it does not have missiles fired
into its territory.” The Israeli military is using weaponry procured from Boeing, General Electric, and
Elbit U.S.A., to name a few, purchases made possible by U.S. military aid to Israel. In other words,
U.S. taxpayers are funding the Israeli attack on Gaza.
7. No Military Solution
Israel periodically uses its military might as a deterrent to Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank and
East Jerusalem to rebel. But an unjust occupation and subjugation of an entire people cannot be
maintained by military force alone. The only long-term solution, for Palestinians and Israelis, is one
that offers freedom and dignity for all the people of Palestine and Israel.

PHIC: 174 killed and 1399 wounded during the Israeli aggression on Gaza

Palestinian Health Information Center (PHIC) within the Palestinian Ministry of Health issued its final statistical report related to the brutal Israeli aggression against unarmed civilians in the districts of Gaza, which began on the fourteenth of this month.
The report revealed that the total number of martyrs, officially registered with the Ministry of Health, reached 174 martyrs including 34 children, 11 Ladies, 19 elderly, and 16 martyrs less than five years.
The report noted the 1399 people were injured, including 465 children, 254 ladies over 18 years, 91 elderly and 141 children less than five years.
The report pointed out that 27 of the wounded are in coma, suffering a very serious condition.

Israel’s Shortsighted Assassination

Passing messages between the two sides, I was able to learn firsthand that Mr. Jabari wasn’t just interested in a long-term cease-fire; he was also the person responsible for enforcing previous cease-fire understandings brokered by the Egyptian intelligence agency. Mr. Jabari enforced those cease-fires only after confirming that Israel was prepared to stop its attacks on Gaza. On the morning that he was killed, Mr. Jabari received a draft proposal for an extended cease-fire with Israel, including mechanisms that would verify intentions and ensure compliance. This draft was agreed upon by me and Hamas’s deputy foreign minister, Mr. Hamad, when we met last week in Egypt.
The goal was to move beyond the patterns of the past.

Israeli FM Scolds UN Chief for Arguing Against Invasion of Gaza

Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman scolded the United Nations Secretary General for advocating against an Israeli ground invasion of Gaza, arguing such talk bolsters Hamas.
Do Israeli politicians have to take special classes to speak in such an Orwellianly, condescending manner to people whose job it is to prevent war?
Unflipping believable.
And unfortunately, were I a betting woman, I would not bet that this cease-fire will hold; Netanyahu wants to go forward with a ground invasion, so we can look at any moment for an Israeli-generated false flag which will be used to tear this cease-fire to shreds, and become Israel's causus belli for a ground invasion of Gaza.

Gaza: Israel And Hamas Agree To A Ceasefire

A ceasefire between Hamas and Israel has been agreed, it has been announced.
Egyptian foreign minister Mohamed Kamel Amr said the truce would begin at 7pm (GMT) at a news conference in Cairo.
Just moments earlier, UN secretary general Ban Ki-moon had arrived in the Egyptian capital for talks with Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi and said there were "many details to work out" before an agreement could be reached. to end the conflict.

Fake bomb discovered on Jerusalem light rail

A fake bomb was discovered in a carriage on the Jerusalem light rail system on Monday morning, in the second such instance in the last week.
The device, a box with wires protruding from it inside an abandoned bag, was investigated by the bomb squad. The incident caused a slowdown in rail service in the capital as officials dealt with the situation.
Another sign that Israel will try to break the announced cease fire.

Evidence That Operation “Pillar Of Cloud” Was With Washington’s Close Liaison… Senior Us Military Officials Were In Israel with IDF Counterparts Before Gaza Attack

There is evidence that Operation “Pillar of Cloud” was implemented in close liaison with Washington in the context of the broader process of allied military planning. Senior US military officials were on location in Israel working with their IDF counterparts in the days leading up to the attack.

Israel: Perpetrator or Self-proclaimed Victim?

Besides the fighting between the Israeli army and Hamas (Islamist Resistence Movement) a “war of opinions” has broken out over the issue who’s the perpetrator and who is the victim. Western media outlets have already made up their mind and put the sole blame on Hamas. The Israeli military attacks against a defenseless population have been going on since 1948 and follow usually the same pattern, especially, after Israel occupied and colonized the rest of Palestine after 1967. The decades-long occupation is the real cause of the conflict. Would the Israeli government not object to the right of self-determination of the Palestinian people, withdraw its troops and its colonizers from the occupied territories and let the Palestinians live their life in freedom, the conflict could be resolved in a minute.

It's Palestinians who have the right to defend themselves

The US and Britain stand behind Israel's onslaught on Gaza. Justice requires a change in the balance of forces on the ground
Israel's propagandists (which includes too much of the corporate media) are screaming that this is all HAMAS' fault. But the current crisis began on November 8th when an Israeli soldier in a helicopter gunned down a Palestinian child playing soccer; an act clearly calculated by Israel to provoke a response. Palestinians shot at some Israeli soldiers, whereupon Israel gunned down two more children then lager opened fire on one of the funerals. Again, these are acts clearly calculated by Israel to provoke a response. It was at that point the rockets began to fly. Then there was a cease fire which ISRAEL broke when they murdered HAMAS' military commander, who was holding a draft of a truce from Israel in his hands when he was blown to bloody bits. It was at this point that the US media stopped trying to "conditize" (distract with a sex scandal) Americans with the Patreaus purge and started chanting "Bad HAMAS, poor Israel."

13-year-old boy is killed in Gaza

A 13-year-old Palestinian boy in Gaza was fatally shot Thursday, the Gaza Health Ministry said.
A spokesman for the ministry accused the Israel Defense Forces of killing the boy. "Hameed Abu Daqqa was killed by an Israeli military helicopter after being shot in the head while playing football with his friends east of Khan Younis," ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qidra told CNN.
This is what started the violence. Shooting a child who is playing soccer from a helicopter is a brutal and inhumane act. It was clearly intended to provoke a reaction by the Palestinians, who react to the murder of their children in exactly the same way you would. The Palestinians shot at the IDF soldiers. Israel retaliated by shooting two more children, then opened fire on the funeral for one of them. Each act by Israel was intended to provoke the maximum rage in the families of the victims. Meanwhile, in the United States, all we saw on ABCNNBBCBSFOX was Penisgate, and the first news about Israel and Gaza reported to the American audience was when Gaza fired some rockets into Israel and was portrayed as the unreasonable aggressor who started it all.

Iran reportedly admits helping Gaza militants produce long-range missiles

"Gaza is under siege, so we cannot help them. The Fajr-5 missiles have not been shipped from Iran."
There is a full-court press to try to use the hostilities in Israel and Gaza (started on November 8th when an Israeli soldier in a helicopter gunned down a Palestinian child playing soccer; an act calculated to provoke a response) to justify an attack on Iran. This is just more of the same. There are no missiles being sent from Iran to Gaza. None could get through Israel's blockade and Iran is not stupid enough to send identifiable weapons to Gaza. So the new spin is that Iran "reportedly" (note that this means it is an unfounded rumor) transferred technology.

Revelation of the Method in Israeli attacks on Gaza

By Michael Hoffman

From Israeli negotiator Gershon Baskin comes this key piece of Revelation of the Method. It shows that until a few days ago, the recent rocket attacks on the Israeli state were largely the work of Salafist (Saudi and western-intelligence-connected, Al Qaeda-style) groups who oppose Hamas. Mr. Baskin reveals that it was the chief Hamas negotiator on preventing rocket attacks, Ahmed al-Jabari, who the Israelis assassinated in a Barzini gambit. Jabari was one of the few Hamas enforcers with the power to stop the renegade Salafist rocketeers in Gaza. He was considering an apparent Israeli proposal for a ceasefire, which had been brokered by Egypt, when the Israelis terror-bombed the car he was riding in, killing him and his son.

Recall in the "Godfather" movie that a rival mobster named Barzini wanted to take over the Vito Corloene family by starting a war. Sonny, Vito's hot-headed eldest, was lured into an angry reaction when Barzini paid Sonny's brother-in-law Carlo, to beat Sonny's sister. In response, Sonny thoughtlessly jumped into a car to get revenge. On his way to administer a beating to Carlo, Sonny is cut down in a hail of bullets at a thruway toll booth. The war begins in earnest and tit-for-tat violence becomes the order of the day.

In the latest Gaza version of this blood theatre, the part of Sonny's sister is played by Jabari, who is suckered into believing he will help bring about a ceasefire and is instead murdered. Hamas is the stand-in for Sonny. Their use of rockets against Israeli cities is tantamount to Sonny roaring off in his automobile to vengefully beat Carlo.

Our script might be dismissed as far-fetched were it not for the fact that the Israeli government's own negotiator has confirmed the details. His revelation consists in the fact that every four years or so, the Israelis decide to "mow the lawn" in Gaza -- i.e. as a matter of routine -- destroy dozens or hundreds of buildings and kill dozens or hundreds of Palestinians, as was accomplished the last time this occurred, in "Operation Cast Lead."

To slaughter the requisite number of Palestinians and fulfill the quota for the destuction of the infrastructure in Gaza, Ahmed al-Jabari, the Hamas leader most likely to control renegade rocket attacks, was assassinated last week. Rockets were then launched, Sonny Corleone style, by Hamas, in revenge, and it is only at this point, and not before, that Fox News, the Protestant Fundamentalists and the Catholic neocons begin their account of what has happened: poor little "Israel" -- only defending itself against intolerable rocket attacks by Arab terrorists.
Israel’s Shortsighted Assassination
By Gershon Baskin • New York Times
November 16, 2012

JERUSALEM -- Ahmed al-Jabari, — the strongman of Hamas, the head of its military wing, the man responsible for the abduction of the Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit — was assassinated on Wednesday by Israeli missiles. Why?

Israel’s government has declared that the aim of the current strikes against Gaza is to rebuild deterrence so that no rockets will be fired on Israel. Israel’s targeted killings of Hamas leaders in the past sent the Hamas leadership underground and prevented rocket attacks on Israel temporarily. According to Israeli leaders, deterrence will be achieved once again by targeting and killing military and political leaders in Gaza and hitting hard at Hamas’s military infrastructure. But this policy has never been effective in the long term, even when the founder and
spiritual leader of Hamas, Sheik Ahmed Yassin, was killed by Israel. Hamas didn’t lay down its guns then, and it won’t stop firing rockets at Israel now without a cease-fire agreement.

When we were negotiating with Hamas to release Mr. Shalit, members of the Israeli team believed that Mr. Jabari wouldn’t make a deal because holding Mr. Shalit was a kind of “life insurance policy.” As long as Mr. Jabari held Mr. Shalit, Israelis believed, the Hamas leader knew he was safe. The Israeli government had a freer hand to kill Mr. Jabari after Mr. Shalit was released in October 2011. His insurance policy was linked to their assessment of the value of keeping him alive. This week, that policy expired.

I believe that Israel made a grave and irresponsible strategic error by deciding to kill Mr. Jabari. No, Mr. Jabari was not a man of peace; he didn’t believe in peace with Israel and refused to have any direct contact with Israeli leaders and even nonofficials like me. My indirect dealings with Mr. Jabari were handled through my Hamas counterpart, Ghazi Hamad, the deputy foreign minister of Hamas, who had received Mr. Jabari’s authorization to deal directly with me. Since Mr. Jabari took over the military wing of Hamas, the only Israeli who spoke with him directly was Mr. Shalit, who was escorted out of Gaza by Mr. Jabari himself. (It is important to recall that Mr. Jabari not only abducted Mr. Shalit, but he also kept him alive and ensured that he was cared for during his captivity.)

For years, it has been the same story: Israeli intelligence discovers information about an impending terrorist attack from Gaza. The Israeli Army takes pre-emptive action with an airstrike against the suspected terror cells, which are often made up of fighters from groups like Islamic Jihad, the Popular Resistance Committees or Salafi groups not under Hamas’s control but functioning within its territory. These cells launch rockets into Israeli towns near Gaza, and they often miss their targets. The Israeli Air Force responds swiftly. The typical result is between 10 and 25 casualties in Gaza, zero casualties in Israel and huge amounts of property damage on both sides.

Other key Hamas leaders and members of the Shura Council, its senior decision-making body, supported a new cease-fire effort because they, like Mr. Jabari, understood the futility of successive rocket attacks against Israel that left no real damage on Israel and dozens of casualties in Gaza. Mr. Jabari was not prepared to give up the strategy of “resistance,” meaning fighting Israel, but he saw the need for a new strategy and was prepared to agree to a long-term cease-fire.

This war is being presented in Israel, once again, as a war of “no choice.” The people of Israel are rallying around the flag as would be expected anywhere in the world. The United States government has voiced its support of the Israeli operation by stating, “Israel has the full right to defend itself and protect its citizens.” It certainly does, but we must ask whether there is another way to achieve the same goal without the use of force.

Israel has used targeted killings, ground invasions, drones, F-16s, economic siege and political boycott. The only thing it has not tried and tested is reaching an agreement (through third parties) for a long-term mutual cease-fire.

No government can tolerate having its civilian population attacked by rockets from a neighboring territory. And the firing of thousands of rockets from Gaza into Israel must end. There was a chance for a mutually agreed cease-fire. The difference between the proposal I drafted in cooperation with my Hamas counterpart and past proposals was that it included both a mechanism for dealing with impending terror threats and a clear definition of breaches. This draft was to be translated and shared with both Mr. Jabari and Israeli security officials, who were aware of our mediation efforts.

In the draft, which I understand Mr. Jabari saw hours before he was killed, it was proposed that Israeli intelligence information transmitted through the Egyptians would be delivered to Mr. Jabari so that he could take action aimed at preventing an attack against Israel. Mr. Jabari and his forces would have had an opportunity to prove that they were serious when they told Egyptian intelligence officials that they were not interested in escalation. If Mr. Jabari had agreed to the draft, then we could have prevented this new round of violence
; if he had refused, then Israel would have likely attacked in much the same way as it is now.

The proposal was at least worth testing. Moreover, it included the understanding that if Israel were to take out a real ticking bomb — people imminently preparing to launch a rocket — such a strike would not be considered a breach of the cease-fire and would not lead to escalation.

Instead, Mr. Jabari is dead — and with him died the possibility of a long-term cease-fire. Israel may have also compromised the ability of Egyptian intelligence officials to mediate a short-term cease-fire and placed Israel’s peace treaty with Egypt at risk.

This was not inevitable, and cooler heads could have prevailed. Mr. Jabari’s assassination removes one of the more practical actors on the Hamas side.  Who will replace him? I am not convinced that Israel’s political and military leaders have adequately answered that question. (Emphasis supplied).

GAZA CITY — Israeli forces killed at least 11 people, including several children, in a single airstrike that destroyed a home here on Sunday, as Israel pressed its bombardment of the Gaza Strip for a fifth day, deploying warplanes and naval vessels to pummel the coastal enclave.

UN calls Israel's West Bank settlements 'creeping annexation' and suggests it jeopardises a future Palestinian state (Independent)

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/middle-east/un-calls-israels-west-bank-settlements-creeping-annexation-and-suggests-it-jeopardises-a-future-palestinian-state-8475260.html
Israeli settlement building in the West Bank represents a “creeping annexation” of Palestinian territory and is putting a future Palestinian state in jeopardy, according to a UN fact-finding mission report, released today.
The Jewish state has an obligation not to allow its citizens to move to the West Bank, which under international law is regarded as occupied territory, the report added.
The investigation was the first of its kind into the issue of settlements. In tough language, it concluded that the settlements exist for the exclusive benefit of Israeli Jews, and that they created a system of segregation.

Israel must withdraw all settlers or face ICC, says UN report

Israel must withdraw all settlers from the West Bank or potentially face a case at the international criminal court (ICC) for serious violations of international law, says a report by a United Nations agency that was immediately dismissed in Jerusalem as "counterproductive and unfortunate".
All settlement activity in occupied territory must cease "without preconditions" and Israel "must immediately initiate a process of withdrawal of all settlers", said the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC). Israel, it said, was in violation of article 49 of the fourth Geneva convention, which forbids the transfer of civilian populations to occupied territory.
The settlements were "leading to a creeping annexation that prevents the establishment of a contiguous and viable Palestinian state and undermines the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination," it said.

UN calls on Israel to remove over 500,000 settlers

The United Nations’ first report on Israel’s settlements policy concluded Thursday that the government’s practice of “creeping annexation” clearly violates the human rights of Palestinians and called for the withdrawal of 500,000 settlers.

Israel boycotts UN rights council in unprecedented move

Israel has boycotted a regular review by the UN Human Rights Council, the first time any country has done so.
The move was expected as Israel has long been angered by what it claims is unfair criticism from the body.
A decision last year to investigate Jewish settlements in the West Bank prompted Israel to announce it would no longer co-operate with the council.
Time to kick Israel out of the United Nations!

Israeli Authorities Change Route Of Wall To Fully Annex Jerusalem For Israel

The Israeli Defense Ministry announced on Sunday that they will re-route a section of the Wall east of Jerusalem in order to close off an existing gap and fully annex the city of Jerusalem into Israel. The new route means the complete encirclement of the Palestinian village of Al-Zaim, with the Wall to the West and a security fence to the east.
Other Palestinian towns are also completely isolated and encircled into ghettoes, including the town of Sheikh Sa'ed and the city of Qalqilya. Israeli authorities isolated these towns in order to create Palestinian-free zones and routes throughout the West Bank to allow Israeli settlers to travel unencumbered without either having to stop at checkpoints or to drive on the same roads as Palestinians. But in order to do that, Israeli forces have had to maintain over 600 checkpoints throughout the West Bank, and to force Palestinians off their own roads and onto dirt roads or trails.
Israeli apartheid just gets uglier and deeper as time moves forward.

State of Israel Forced the Sterilization of Ethiopian Women

In which language should one speak to be understood? On January 27, 2013, Israel formally admitted having injected Ethiopian-Jewish women with venom against their will, so that they won't get pregnant. Israel brought them to Israel in a propaganda-program aimed at showing the world that Jews are not racists, and then applied Nazi techniques to ensure that they won't reproduce. Several years ago, I published Israel’s Eugenics Program: Dr. Mengele Blues, which describes the frightening "Dor Yeshorim" (roughly "Straightening Generation") Israeli eugenics program, who seeks to destroy embryos who do not fit the Zionist dream. Not surprisingly, the program originates directly in the work of Dr Epstein, a Jewish aide of Nazi Dr Mengele (see The Nazi Doctors: Medical Killing And The Psychology Of Genocidehttp://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=roto-20&l=as2&o=1&a=0465049052).

Israel admits Ethiopian women were given birth control shots

A government official has for the first time acknowledged the practice of injecting women of Ethiopian origin with the long-acting contraceptive Depo-Provera.
Health Ministry Director General Prof. Ron Gamzu has instructed the four health maintenance organizations to stop the practice as a matter of course.
Remember all the wailing and whining about the supposed forced sterilizations by the Nazis? Think we'll here the same about this crime by Israel?

UK lists Israel as human rights abuser

British Foreign Office has listed the Israeli regime’s human rights record as one"of particular concern” in its quarterly report on human rights, over the Zionist entity's brutal attack on the Gaza Strip in November and its new settlement expansion plans.

Iran and Russia sign agreement to coordinate security

Iran and Russia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) here on Tuesday to increase security cooperation between the two countries, Press TV reported.
Iranian Interior Minister Mostafa Mohammad-Najjar and visiting Russian Minister of Internal Affairs Vladimir Alexandrovich Kolokoltsev signed the MoU during a meeting in Tehran on Tuesday.
Kolokoltsev arrived in the Iranian capital on Monday for a two- day official visit upon the invitation of the Iranian interior minister.
Mohammad-Najjar was quoted as saying that “Signing the security MoU is a cornerstone in the expansion of cooperation between the two countries.”
While not a full-fledged mutual defense pact yet, this MoU paves the way for one to be forthcoming, possibly very quickly.
Should such a defense pact be reached between the two countries, that will guarantee that should the US and/or Israel attack Iran, they will have Russia to contend with militarily.
