Enfin!

Pis encore : votre tranquillité, votre bonheur, votre paix…

Jordan's King Abdullah has said the US is preparing an ambitious Middle East peace plan between Israel, the Palestinians, Syria and Lebanon in return for diplomatic recognition of Israel from the world's Muslim nations.
Abdullah told the Times that on offer for Israel was a "57-state solution" in which the entire Arab and Muslim world would recognise its existence.
"We are offering a third of the world to meet them with open arms," he said.
"The future is not the Jordan river or the Golan Heights or the Sinai, the future is Morocco in the Atlantic and Indonesia in the Pacific. That is the prize."
If the peace agreement failed there could be another war in the Middle East by next year, Abdullah said in an interview with the newspaper.
Webmaster's Commentary:
This is actually not new. The Muslims nations have agreed all along that they will recognize Israel the moment Israel recognizes Palestine.
Israel will of course refuse and try to put the blamer on the Arab nations by falling back on a well-worn trick of refusing to discuss Palestine until AFTER the Arab nations give Israel what it wants. The Arab nations know from long experience that giving Israel what it wants as a precondition to talks means that Israel will have no reason at all to concede anything at all in those talks.
The very fact that the Jewish mafia (often misnamed the “Russian” mafia) was capable of completely covering its tracks, being completely left out of all news reports surrounding the incident, while the common people (in Russia) were utterly convinced of their complicity, proves the immense strength of this rather new movement of organized crime. The Jewish mafia is nothing like their Irish or Italian predecessors in its American or European operations. They are richer, more international in scope and far more violent and ruthless. They kill children. They kill policemen and their families. They kill whomever they like.
There has been nothing like it before in the history of the globe. And they are just getting started.
The chutzpah of these people. First, they barge into Palestine, murdering, bombing, raping, demolishing and stealing their way to an Eretz Israel, now they demand they be paid for their crimes.
The bill was submitted by the right wing Israeli National Religious party to amend the Basic law which considers Jerusalem as capital of Israel. The bill passed in the ruling coalition with a majority of 58 to 12.

The old lie that Palestine was dry desert waiting for a people is just that--a lie. This clip for all people to see the Beauty of the Palestinian People before they were ethnically cleansed and murdered and made into refugees by the State of Israel. Music Joaquin Rodrigo, lyrics Helmut Lotti, sung by Lotti All Photos (b&w) from http://fai.cyberia.net.lb/
For decades, Zionists and Israelis sold to the world the myth that Palestine was a "land without a people for a people without a land." The truth was far from that. In Palestine lived a thriving society which was far different from the Palestinians you see today who have been dispossessed of all their properties by the Jews. Palestine was also a green productive agricultural land full of rivers. It was far from being the desert Jews claim having miraculously turned into 'paradise'. The famous "Israeli" Jaffa oranges that are sold all over the world today, existed in fact long before Israel ever appeared on the map of the world and they were the orange of Yafa which is the Arabic name for Jaffa. Some of my Palestinian friends still have their paperwork and documentation that proves their ownership of the Yafa oranges land, but since when was Israel ever held accountable in front of a court of law when it comes to stealing lands and properties. My friends who are the real owners of the Yafa oranges are Christian Palestinians, not Muslims... because Israel looted Christian Palestinians and hunted them away just as it did/does with the Muslims.
Israeli expansionists, their intentions to take full control of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip and permanently keep the Golan Heights of Syria and expand into southern Lebanon already well known, also have their eyes on parts of Iraq considered part of a biblical “Greater Israel.”
Israel reportedly has plans to relocate thousands of Kurdish Jews from Israel, including expatriates from Kurdish Iran, to the Iraqi cities of Mosul and Nineveh under the guise of religious pilgrimages to ancient Jewish religious shrines. According to Kurdish sources, the Israelis are secretly working with the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) to carry out the integration of Kurdish and other Jews into areas of Iraq under control of the KRG.
More than 250 breaches of freedom of journalism happened in the Occupied Territories by Israeli forces during 2007. And the Palestinian territories under Israel's occupation ranked last year at number 158 in the annual World Press Freedom out of 169 countries. How does this match with your claim of Israel's free press?
Israel is an Occupation authority, that's why it is interested in withholding information and concealing its crimes and violations of Palestinian s' human rights. Like what was happening in villages like Bil'in, and Umm Salman.
In Sunday's attack, an elderly woman, Thamam al-Nawaja, was herding her family's sheep when four masked and armed Israeli settlers came running toward her from the settlement of Susia. When her son and husband saw what was happening, they came over, and the settlers beat the whole family with baseball bats. Al-Nawaja, who suffered the brunt of the beating, spent three days in the hospital after the attack. Her face was beaten badly, and one cheekbone was shattered.
This is the face of Israeli racism, in its ugliest, and most brutal manifestation.
To the people who beat her, this older woman's only crime was breathing.
And I would be willing to bet real money that the perps who did this will never be caught or brought to justice on this.
In the newsletter Eliyahu proposes "hanging the children" of those who attacked the Mercaz Harav yeshiva from a tree.
From a reader: And yet if it was being screamed from the Arabs to the Jews then all hell would be breaking lose right now.. But because Israel is saying this it will get no media attention from the MSM bozos.. This is the shit that my taxes are paying for???? when we have so many homeless in America... I want my money back..
A 10-year-old boy was subjected to physical abuse amounting to torture for 2.5 hours by Israeli soldiers who stormed his family's shop on 11 June, seeking information on the location of a handgun. The boy was repeatedly beaten, slapped and punched in the head and stomach, forced to hold a stress position for half and hour, and threatened. He was deeply shocked and lost two molar teeth as a result of the assault.
You've just gotta love how the IDF treats Palestinian children!
From September 29 year 2000, in the eruption of the second Palestinian Intifada, through March 16 2008, at least 1.015 Palestinian children and youths, under the age of 18, were killed by the Israeli army,in the Palestinian occupied territories. During the same period, more than thousand Palestinian children have been injured, many children have lost their limbs and other body parts.
At 1.00 in the morning on the 30th of April, the Israeli Army raids orphanage in Hebron, home to 110 girls, seizing all equipment from community sewing workshop.
"I was always with him. He was an innocent person, kind. He was talking to me about how he was going to inherit part of his father's land and farm it and how he was going to get married and stay here." Nayef added tearfully: "He was a boy who had hopes. He wanted to live his life." He added: "What is my daughter going to think? She is going to grow up hating the Israelis."
Gazan Palestinian kids are routinely exterminated.....just for being in the wrong place at the absolutley wrong time.
The popular committee against the siege stated Monday that 31 percent of Gaza patients whose travel for medical treatment abroad was not approved by the IOA for flimsy security pretexts are children under age 15.
Would someone take a good hard look at the kid in the picture in this article, and explain to me with a straight face how they could ever be described as a "security risk"?
This is a sick kid who needs treatment which is being denied by the Israeli government, period, end of discussion.
An Israeli military court ruled Tuesday that three Israeli soldiers who beat, humiliated and attached electrodes to the faces of two 17-year old Palestinian detainees would not be demoted to the rank of private.
The IDF court obviously couldn't bring itself to mete out a harsher sentence, because this is what their soldiers do all the time when it comes to Palestinians- and worse.
What happened is that this case became public knowledge, so they had to do at least a little something to these men.
For several hours, Israeli soldiers directed gunfire towards the house and its occupants, including 15 children, and subjected them to cruel, inhumane and degrading treatment. During the raid, Israeli soldiers fired upon unarmed civilians, including children, as they followed orders to exit the house. This unlawful act claimed the life of 20-day-old Amira, who was shot in the head while in her mother's arms.
Medics say the girl was decapitated by a shell. Dr. Moaiya Hassanain, a Palestinian Health Ministry official, says two others are being treated for injuries sustained in the shelling.
'Half of the population of Gaza is made up by minors: their current situation is horrible and could worsen still', said a special UN committee that accused Israel of having forbidden its access to Gaza 'to hide the violations of human rights perpetrated against Palestinians'. In Cairo, Prasad Kariyawasam, president of the committee and Sri Lanka's ambassador to the UN, said that Israeli authorities have blocked the group's access to Gaza, forcing it to 'interview local witnesses by phone and to speak with humanitarian operators to understand what is happening on the ground'. After outlining the damage done to the population by the longstanding blockade of Gaza, Kariyawasam stressed the serious situation faced by children, described as 'the first victims of the siege'.
Israel clearly doesn't want people to see what it has done to the children of Gaza, courtesy of the siege.
The international campaign to save the schools and orphanages in the city of Hebron which are affiliated with the Islamic Charitable Society (ICS) has had a strong impact, forcing Israeli embassies around the world to respond to requests for information and answers. Relying on information obtained from the Israeli military, embassies are working to create a climate of terror against the ICS, thereby justifying Israel's actions.
A shipment of food aid for the people of the Gaza Strip was denied entry by Israeli military forces on Monday. The shipment consisted of several trucks full of food aid from Egypt that were denied entry at the Israeli-controlled Karem Abu Salem crossing point between Egypt and the Gaza Strip.
The WHO estimates that the malnutrition rates for children in Gaza runs at around 45%.
And the world watches and does nothing.
The only way Israel will understand that this siege is perceived by the rest of the world as a really, really, bad idea is for all foreign aid in money, and military assistance to stop, immediately, until there is a permanent status resolution for a functioning Palestinian state.
That's billions alone from the US, which could be used to fix our crumbling infrastructure, and get our homeless vets off the streets and into appropriate care and shelter.
The sole power plant in Gaza declared on Tuesday it will stop generating electricity for Gaza's 1.5 million residents by tomorrow evening, due to sharp shortage of gasoline, needed to generate current.
The outcome of this shutdown will be more misery, death, and disease.
Understanding that this would be the outcome, this appears to be precisely what the Israeli government had in mind.
Israeli army bulldozers, backed by soldiers, on Wednesday swooped on four Palestinian hamlets in southern Hebron hills, demolishing 11 homes and structures and rendering dozens of men, women and children homeless.
The wanton demolitions are ostensibly aimed at expanding adjacent Jewish colonies inhabited by fundamentalist settlers advocating ethnic cleansing of all non-Jews in Palestine.
The blood of Abir will remain as a black crown on the brow of every Israeli and every Jew in the world until her murderer is brought to justice and passes the remainder of his days in jail, among the murderers and the criminals.
The agriculture ministry in the PA legitimate government in Gaza Strip asserted on Wednesday that the IOF troops had bulldozed vast agricultural areas in the eastern sector of the Gaza Strip which is considered the food basket of the 1.5 million Palestinians living there.
Bulldozing agricultural land, uprooting trees, and killing farmers tending to their fields; all in a day's work for the IDF.
Was this simply to prevent desperately needed food to the Palestinians, or the IDF's sick idea of a "joke"??
"There will be no choice but to overthrow Hamas. They are essentially Iranian offshoots sitting within us. It's intolerable that Israel allows its cities to be fired upon; we must move from a war of attrition to a war of decisivness," said Opposition Chairman Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday in a meeting with local journalists in Netivot as he addressed Palestinian rocket attacks from Gaza.
This sounds like the statement of a man with massacre on his mind.
And of course, the timing couldn't be more ironic, because a number of Palestinian groups have said that they are willing to respect an Egyptian-brokered cease-fire, which Egyptian officials will be presenting to Israel.
Gaza Strip - Israel dismissed on Friday a proposal by Hamas to call a conditional six-month truce in the Gaza Strip, calling it a ruse aimed at allowing the Palestinian Islamist group to recover from recent fighting.
There is no truce offer Israel will ever be willing to accept from Hamas for any reason, and that is the problem.
Israel's rejection of Hamas' ceasefire proposals means a declaration of war, a senior leader of the Islamic movement said on Sunday.
Unless Hamas (as the duly elected government of Palestine, per the last elections) is included as a serious and vital component to the peace process, there can be no peace.
Hamas has softened its position and is willing to accept a cease-fire in just the Gaza Strip, dropping a demand that the truce immediately include the West Bank, the group's senior representatives said Tuesday.
The move marked a significant concession by Hamas as Egyptian mediators try to halt fighting between Palestinian militants and the Israeli army in Gaza. For weeks, Hamas insisted on a mutual cease-fire in both the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
One has to wonder how Amos Gilad, political advisor to Israeli war minister Ehud Barak, is going to manage to characterize this as "nothing new", as he did with Carter's Ceasefire Plan.
What is the term for people who live under occupation for over 40 years, and pay taxes to the occupying authority, and yet do not have any rights under that same authority?
What is the term for people being issued different color ids and license plates so as to determine whether they can enter another part of their own homeland?
And how, with all this going on, can one even begin to characterize Israel as a "democracy", when it functions as a democracy for only some of its citizens?
According to the report, the total number of the siege victims since the Israeli siege imposed about a year ago, thus, has reached 192 patients.
The campaign had warned that the specter of death is threatening a long list of patients who suffer chronic and serious diseases due to the lack of medicines and the Israeli restrictions imposed on travel for medical treatment outside the besieged Gaza Strip.
How someone can look at a sick kid any kid - and not try to get them care is an astonishing insight into how the minds of some people work.
With all that the Palestinians go through under Israeli occupation, how self-centred do we have to be to think it was specifically the case of an American victim that influenced him? If he really was motivated to murder by the example of Israel's own use of bulldozers to murder its opponents, wouldn't it be more likely for him to be influenced by cases involving fellow Palestinians, like Jamal Fayed:
Jamal Fayed, 38 and severely disabled, was killed on 11 April [2002] when the bulldozing of his home caused a wall to collapse on him. The family had shown the soldiers preparing to demolish the house Jamal Fayed's ID to prove that he was paralysed and could not get out of the home without their help. The soldiers refused to help and soon after a bulldozer approached the house. The family yelled at the driver to stop. He did not, and Jamal Fayed, still trapped inside the house, was killed.
There are currently as many as 12,000 Palestinian detainees languishing in Israeli detention camps, many of them without charge or trial. They include hundreds of university professors, engineers, school teachers as well as religious and civic leaders, students, resistance fighters and women activists.
The abysmal performance of western TV and radio interviewers when dealing with issues surrounding Israel - that 'Rogue Regime' or 'Zionist Entity', as many now call it - is not only embarrassing but a blot on the escutcheon of journalism.
Even the most fearsome inquisitors purr like a pussycat. Their rottweiler instincts evaporate, their investigative skills desert them, objectivity takes a nosedive. Penetrating questions are seldom asked, lies go unchallenged. Any Israeli spokesperson or cheerleader is guaranteed an easy ride.
Have the nation's truth-seekers fallen under some wicked Zionist spell? Are their researchers on strike? Did somebody nobble the programme editors?
While we wait with mounting frustration for our broadcasters to get their act together, here are 20 simple questions the BBC and others seem anxious not to ask......
Last week, the Israeli human rights organization B'Tselem released video clips showing masked Jewish settlers ganging up on and severely beating elderly Palestinian peasants near the town of Yatta, southwest of Hebron. At least three Palestinians were wounded in the unprovoked assault, including a man and his wife, both in their early sixties.
The latest act of settler terror was not an isolated incident, as official Israeli spokespersons would often claim. It represents a disturbing and persistent phenomenon as young and usually heavily armed settlers continue to attack Palestinian farmers, peasants and shepherds and vandalize their property in an effort to drive them away from their lands and villages.
The Israeli human rights organization B'Tselem deserves a tremendous amount of credit for their work in making clear to the world what Palestinians are enduring on a constant basis at the hands of Israelis.
In another blatant violation of the promise made in Annapolis in September 2007 by Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert to halt settlement construction, the Israeli Housing Minister Ze'ev Boim announced Friday that he will be issuing permits for 1,460 new housing units in three Israeli settlements built on Palestinian land in East Jerusalem.
The announcement came just days before the Israeli Prime Minister plans to visit Washington to report on the progress of the peace process.
The hubris of this announcement, right on the heels of Olmert's next trip to Washington, is nothing short of amazing.
And regarding this being a meeting regarding the "progress of the peace process", I would look at that pretext with great skepticism.
More than likely, it will be about how some kind of a strike against Iran can be pulled off successfully between now and the end of Bush's term.
Remember: Bush has promised to support Israel militarily, no matter who starts the shooting.
Former President Carter said Monday that Hamas -- the Islamic militant group that has called for the destruction of Israel -- is prepared to accept the right of the Jewish state to "live as a neighbor next door in peace."
But Carter warned that there would not be peace if Israel and the U.S. continue to shut out Hamas and its main backer, Syria.
For Carter to have gotten this far with Hamas is a major breakthrough; but were I a betting person, I would be willing to bet that Israel will reject it out of hand.
Israel, having stolen such large quantities of land from the Palestinians, and continuing to build in Palestinian areas, will never go back to the 1967 borders.
The problem is that Israel (and their bitch the US) will insist that HAMAS "prove" its sincerity by halting all violence. But Israel will continue as it always has, bulldozing, killing, stealing, until HAMAS once again realizes that Israel is not bargaining in good faith. HAMAS will then call off the cease fire and Israel will put the blame for the "failure" of the peace process onto them.
Hamas presented nothing new in its demands for a truce during Carter's recent meetings with officials of the group, said Amos Gilad, political advisor to war minister Ehud Barak, on Tuesday.
This was completely predictable on the part of Israel, because the government doesn't want peace: it wants territory.
And the longer they can draw this process out, and the more building they can do on disputed lands, the smaller the country of Palestine will be when it finally becomes a country.
The United States registered an official protest with Israel against its ambassador to the United Nations, Dan Gillerman, for calling former U.S. President Jimmy Carter an "enemy of Israel" prior to Carter's recent visit to the region.
In addition, the State Department is planning to issue a public statement condemning comments made by Gillerman at a press conference in New York on Thursday, where he called Carter a "bigot."
Subdued as this statement is, I'm glad that someone in the state department decided that this comment was not going to go stand without at least some kind of response.
The true reaction should have been a complete and abrupt halt to any and all military and financial aid, from the US, period, end of discussion.
"He's just unilaterally going off on his own and undermining everything the international community and the United States is (sic) trying to do," protested Republican U.S. House Rep. Sue Myrick (NC-09) today in the call to revoke the passport of former president Jimmy Carter.
Unflipping believable.
Looks like Israel and AIPAC have gotten to this lady, big-time.
And what they hate, and what terrifies these folks, is the possibility that Carter just might come up with a breakthrough which might move the region of the Middle East on a more peaceful, non-adversarial path.
And of course, that's something they can't tolerate.
Israel's blockade of the Gaza Strip is an "atrocity," former US president Jimmy Carter said after meeting with Hamas officials in Cairo. Carter also said he had asked Hamas officials to stop rocket attacks into Israel and defended his controversial meetings with the Palestinian terrorist group, saying it was necessary to talk to all parties to achieve peace.
Israel is not ready for such comparisons, even though the situation begs it. It is doubtful whether it is possible to complain when an outside observer, especially a former U.S. president who is well versed in international affairs, sees in the system of separate roads for Jews and Arabs, the lack of freedom of movement, Israel's control over Palestinian lands and their confiscation, and especially the continued settlement activity, which contravenes all promises Israel made and signed, a matter that cannot be accepted. The interim political situation in the territories has crystallized into a kind of apartheid that has been ongoing for 40 years. In Europe there is talk of the establishment of a binational state in order to overcome this anomaly. In the peace agreement with Egypt, 30 years ago, Israel agreed to "full autonomy" for the occupied territories, not to settle there.
It's not likely to happen, but Rep. Sue Myrick, R-N.C., wants Carter's U.S. passport pulled because he met Thursday with members of Hamas in the Middle East.
A searing interview with Avichai Sharon and Noam Chayut, both veterans of the Israeli Defense Forces and members of Breaking the Silence. Sharon and Chayut served during the second intifada, an on-going bloodbath that has claimed the lives of over three thousand Palestinians and nine-hundred-fifty Israelis. After thorough introspection, these young men have chosen to speak out about their experiences as self-described "brutal occupiers of a disputed land." Producer: Sat Gwin

The maximum dose to be given a child in Israel was .5 rad. There was no mistake made. The children were deliberately poisoned. David Deri, makes the point that only Sephardi children received the x-rays.
"I was in class and the men came to take us on a tour. They asked our names. The Ashkenazi children were told to return to their seats. The dark children were put on the bus."
As long-time readers know, the Ashkenazi Jews are not descended from the Biblical Hebrews, but from Khazars who converted to Judaism in 800AD. The Sephardi Jews are true descendants from Biblical Hebrews, being the descendants of Judeans who fled Palestine in 70AD following the failed rebellion against the Romans.
From the crime detailed in this article. it seems that the Ashkenazi are well aware of their tenuous claim to the Jewish heritage, and are out to eradicate anyone who has an actual genetic link to Palestine in biblical times.
Association for Civil Rights in Israel publishes annual report; reveals country overwhelmed by racism, restriction of personal freedoms, discrimination, especially towards Israeli-Arabs. Report not surprising, say Arab MKs
A keynote research paper showing that Middle Eastern Jews and Palestinians are genetically almost identical has been pulled from a leading journal. Academics who have already received copies of Human Immunology have been urged to rip out the offending pages and throw them away.
Such a drastic act of self-censorship is unprecedented in research publishing and has created widespread disquiet, generating fears that it may involve the suppression of scientific work that questions Biblical dogma.
The Ashkenazi, who are not descendants from the Biblical Hebrews but are in fact descendants of converted Khazars, like to claim an ancestral right to Palestine, but the scientific evidence shows that it is the Palestinians and Middle Eastern Jews and not the Ashkenazi, who are the descendants of the Biblical Hebrews.
"An Israeli Saar warship entered Lebanese territorial waters at 7:30 am (0530 GMT) yesterday morning before being intercepted by the Italian navy's Bettica, which is part of UNIFIL," an army spokesman told AFP on Tuesday.
Israel recently conveyed a warning to Syria through a third party that it would hold Damascus accountable if Lebanese Hezbollah launched attacks on the Jewish state, Israeli and European sources said on Friday.
Translation: expect some kind of "false flag" operation against Israel which Israel will pin on Hezbollah, and they're off an running in a military confrontation with Lebanon and Syria.
Lebanese sources have revealed that the Syrian army is reinforcing its military presence along the Lebanese-Syrian borders point from the western Bekaa valley area to Deir Al Ashaer.
The sources linked the military reinforcement to increased speculation inside and outside Lebanon about the possibility that Lebanon will be lured into a war with Israel, which could be triggered by Hezbollah in retaliation for the assassination of its commander Imad Mughniyeh.
The shooting of a European activist participating in the weekly non-violent protest in Bil'in village yesterday, just two days before the fifth anniversary of the killing of Rachel Corrie, has once again underlined that international solidarity activists remain the targets of Israeli military violence.
The nazis had a rough time conducting their holocaust; first they had to round up the Jews, the Gypsies, The Communists, the Trade Unionists, the Gays, and anyone else that 'posed a threat' to their regime. Then they had to transport these millions of people to either forced labour camps or death camps. Afterwards there were mass burials or cremation of the victims...
The National and International Department of the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) reported that the Israeli army killed 274 Palestinians, including 50 children and 18 women since the beginning of 2008.
If Israel acknowledge, and stopped, its ongoing attempt at Genocide perhaps you would earn more friends. Until then we can only remind people that Israel is a Zionist state not a Jewish one, there can be no Jewish state until the Messiah comes, and that Zionists are racists not Jews Rabbi Joel
They have no choice: Israeli blockade has cut the provisions of chlorine to disinfect the water. Those who can't afford to buy bottled water have to drink that poison or die of dehydratation.
Palestinian Gazans cannot even boil the water to purify it , because with Israel's fuel rationing, there is not fuel with which Palestinians can boil it .
The medical results of drinking polluted water are all outcomes Israel knew would happen, including outbreaks of cholera and diarrhea
So declared a 'top Torah Sage' in Israel this week. New laws are being written as I write this, laws which not only permit the slaughter of Palestinians, but also in regard to Jews employing them.
"Not that we are being racist, or anything like that. and only an anti-Semite would dare suggest it anyway!"
A recent UPI report outlined Israel’s new policy of assassinating suspected terrorists on American soil. In other words, Israel is now going to officially carryout terrorism on U.S. soil.
Like assassinating candidates they do not approve of?
Investigative reporter Daniel Estulin has gone further with his bombshell revelation first voiced last week that political insiders are considering a plot to assassinate Ron Paul, today identifying the Neo-Con camp as being behind the potential hit.
A GROUP of former Israeli army recruits are suing the government for compensation after it allegedly made them unwitting guinea pigs by testing them for nerve gas antidotes, a newspaper reported.
I seem to remember something like this happening in a European country in the last century. Now let's see.
Oh yeah, I remember: Nazi Germany!

Jean Ziegler, the UN special rapporteur on right to food, castigated the Israeli occupation and described it as the only "colonial regime" which refuses to abide by any international law, calling on the UN to adopt an effective policy forcing Israel to respect human rights and the Geneva Convention.
"The Israeli occupation is a colonial regime and an illegal military occupation from the UN's point of view, it continues to annex more Palestinian lands; and thus the Israeli occupation is the worst in the history of colonialism," Ziegler stated in a TV interview.

Jewish-American teenagers can sign up for an eight-week training course run by the Israel Defense Forces where they fire weapons, live in military barracks and saunter around in an Israeli military uniform.

But if you are an American Jew and you join hundreds of teenagers from Europe and Mexico for an eight-week training course run by the Israel Defense Forces, you can post your picture wearing an Israeli army uniform and holding an automatic weapon on MySpace.
Israel's targeting of a Hamas government office which caused serious casualties at a nearby wedding party was a "war crime" and those responsible should be punished, a United Nations official said Saturday.

Clearly, air force planes violated international law and entered Syrian air space in the absence of any danger to Israel. This is the kind of Israeli provocation that is well known from the 1950s. Clearly the planes bombed some facility, perhaps a missile facility or something else. The statement of condemnation by North Korea - a country that does not generally issue statements of condemnation for any incident in the region - indicates that perhaps it involved a shipment of arms it sent to Syria. Others are talking about a nuclear facility.
Gaza is entirely dependent on Israel for trade, and the Israeli shekel is the primary currency. Following the Hamas takeover, Israel and Egypt closed the borders with Gaza, and Israel allowed only basic items, such as food and medicine, into the territory.
On Sunday, Israel began cutting vital fuel shipments to the Gaza Strip after the Israeli government warned it would use the tactic to pressure Hamas after months of Palestinian rocket attacks.
When the legacy of Israel is written by future historians, for the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, that legacy will be neatly described in two words: collective punishment.
The tales they tell are unbelievably shameful and expose yet another aspect of the racism inherent in zionism…. I’ll deal with just one of these stories in this post, but keep in mind that this is just one of a thousand of such examples…
And here I was thinking that our tax dollars went to build schools, roads, bridges, flood control, and to develop new technologies on which new industries (and jobs) could be built.
Castrating the mentally ill, encouraging reproduction among families "numbered among the intelligentsia" and limiting the size of "families of Eastern origin" and "preventing ... lives that are lacking in purpose" - these proposals are not from some program of the Third Reich but rather were brought up by key figures in the Zionist establishment of the Land of Israel during the period of the British Mandate. It turns out there was a great deal of enthusiasm here for the improvement of the hereditary characteristics of a particular race (eugenics). This support, which has been kept under wraps for many years, is revealed in a study that examines the ideological and intellectual roots at the basis of the establishment of the health system in Israel.
Since Hamas won control of Gaza in a mid-June military rout of its rival, the secular group Fatah, Israel has worked to isolate the coastal strip and its 1.5 million residents. About the only people allowed out of Gaza these days are Palestinians who need emergency medical care.
Now, the rights groups charge, Israel is trying to turn them into collaborators.
The Israeli government pulls stunts like this routinely: what they hate like hell is getting caught at it.
I don't think it is funny, and I am certain that if this cartoon had Arabs talking about how to cook a Jew that civil liberties types would be (justly) up in arms.
There seems to be a double standard at work here where this cartoon is seemingly above criticism.
The extensive military operations that have been conducted by the Israeli army in and around the Gaza Strip over the past weeks have displayed a marked disregard for international humanitarian law and have involved the imposition of grave and unlawful measures of collective punishment on the Palestinian population.
Israel's defence minister has approved sanctions against Gaza, including cuts in the supply of electricity and fuel to try to halt rocket attacks.
The only true legacy of Israel in the 20th and 21st centuries will be this: developing collective punishment to one of the highest levels ever achieved by humankind in its history on this earth.
President of Jewish People Policy Planning Institute points to wearing of relationship between Jews in Diaspora, Israel; says Jewish state is 'no longer viewed as safe-haven, source of pride’
Israel has become a threat to the safety of the world's Jewish people. Everything the government of Israel does makes the world more hostile to Jewish people. At the same time, Israel's intentional blurring of the line between Israel and the world's Jewish people to evade criticism makes targets of the world's Jewish people as retaliation for Israel's crimes.
The Norwegian state radio network NRK reported Thursday it had obtained a secret diplomatic document from the embassy urging action by "expressing our concern that torture is still practiced in Israel." According to NRK, the embassy's concern stemmed from a report by the Public Committee Against Torture in Israel claiming that prisoners were sometimes beaten during interrogation, held in painfully tight handcuffs and suffered isolation, threats, humiliation and sleep deprivation.
Israel indulges in this kind of behavour with impunity: it just hates getting caught at it, which apparently is what this report has documented.
And notice for all their being "furious", the Israeli government can't really refute the charges, because the whole world knows that this kind of thing goes on all the time from other reports by other human rights organizations.
A senior Israeli official said "We don't need American approval if we are doing something that we think, as a sovereign state, we should do."
Memo to the unnamed Israeli official: if America's concern about building Israeli settlements in the West Bank is of no concern to the Israeli government, perhaps now is the time to yank all American aid - financial and military - from Israel in perpetuity.
But the IDF does not care whether its victims are liable to be children. The fact is that it shoots at figures it considers suspicious, with full knowledge - according to its own contention - that they are liable to be children. Therefore, an IDF that fires at launcher collectors is an army that kills children, without any intention of preventing this. This then is not a series of unfortunate mistakes, as it is being portrayed, but rather reflects the army's contempt for the lives of Palestinian children and its terrifying indifference to their fate.
A society that holds ethical considerations in high regard would at least ask itself: Is it permissible to shoot at anyone who is approaching the launchers, even if we know that some of these people may be small children, lacking in judgment, and thus not punishable? Or are we lifting all restraints on our war operations?
There is no dispute over the fact that the children were killed near rocket launchers. However, the people near rocket launchers are usually civilians, and not the operating crews. The crews operating the launchers do so from a distance, and later they send others, including children, to collect the launchers for further use. Even though the Palestinians claim that the children cannot lift such launchers because they are too heavy, the Israel Defense Forces thinks otherwise. It believes the launcher is light and the rocket is heavy, and therefore launchers can be collected by children.
Eyewitnesses in Gaza said a girl and two boys were killed and a number of other children were injured from IDF artillery shells fired on the neighborhood of Jabalya in the northern Strip.
"A prominent Zionist rabbi ruled this week that according to the Halacha, a non-Jew cannot serve as a Knesset member in the State of Israel, even if the public agrees to it. "This is irrelevant," said Rabbi Shlomo Aviner, "This is a Jewish state and Jews are the ones leading the Jewish state."
Webmaster's Commentary:
Not that we are being racists or anything tacky like that! and only an anti-Semite would even notice!
After the Sabbath meal the platoon commander, identified by Ha'aretz as a man called Moshe who had served in the British army during the second world war, proposed a vote on what should be done with her.
One option was to put her to work in the outpost's kitchen.
Most of the 20 or so soldiers present voted for the alternative by chanting: "We want to fuck". The commander organised a rota for groups of his men to gang rape the girl over the next three days. Moshe and one of his sergeants went first, leaving the girl unconscious. Next morning, she complicated matters by protesting about her treatment. Moshe told one of his sergeants to kill her.
There are numerous signs appearing, that the zionist entity spent too much during the last year and especially for the criminal war against Gaza. Such high spending now adds heavily into the financial abyss opening in front of the zionists due to the economic downturn.
Since it went into effect last week, at least eight violations of the new ceasefire agreement with Hamas and the Palestinian factions have been recorded, a UN source told Ynet on Thursday. According to the source, seven violations were committed by the IDF, while the Palestinians are responsible for just one.
The Palestinian Popular (Folk) Committees issued a press release on Monday slamming the Israel Army's attack against an orphanage in Al Salaam Street in the southern West Bank city of Hebron.
Like the revolutionary movie "Matrix," every totalitarian state will eventually produce an underground resistance, which will find its own charismatic leaders, who can convince enough fellow slaves to rise-up into an irresistible critical mass. It will be the same way here in America, once Internet researchers finally manage to blow the lid off the 911 cover-up, or one of the other pressure cooker political cover-ups that are now being brought to a boil on the stove. When the people can finally get a clear glimpse of the totalitarian state rising around them, they will throw off all pretense of self-serving self-restraint.
Palestinian leaders and Christian peace activists as well as representatives of human rights organizations operating in the occupied Palestinian territories on Thursday made an impassioned appeal to "all men and women of conscience all over the world" to help stop Israeli army plans to close down and take over several orphanages and boarding schools sheltering thousands of orphans and impoverished students. Many of the orphans' parents had been killed by the Israeli army and paramilitary Jewish terrorists, also known as "settlers."
The following essay gives a pretty good picture as to what the status of Palestinians with Israeli Identity Cards really is. I have always referred to these people as 'second class citizens'.... but in reality, as the article points out, they are actually only 'semi-citizens'. In other words, Palestinians are "citizens without citizenship."
Israeli army troops backed by tanks and attack helicopters stormed on Thursday morning the village of Abbas southeast of the Gaza Strip, Hamas security sources and witnesses said.
Farmers in the village said Israeli army bulldozers razed their farms cultivated with olive trees amid intensive gunfire and armed clashes with several militant groups.
"They were olives of mass destruction. THAT'S why!"
The following are merely some examples of Zionist terrorism prior to the creation of the Zionist state in 1948: The list doesn't include the bigger massacres such as Dir Yasin, Dawaymeh, Tantura and others.
Harvard Law School Professor Alan M. Dershowitz has called for a “counter-disinvestment campaign” against Hampshire College unless the school explicitly denies claims that their recent decision to withdraw from a mutual fund represents an act of divestment from Israel, reports The Harvard Crimson.
Webmaster's Commentary:
What Alan M. Dershowitz doesn't understand (or maybe he just assumes you are too stupid to see) is that it is actions like this which validate concerns that Jewish people use their money to bludgeon US society to their will.
This is the same mistake they made with regard to Germany in the 1930s.
"Our race is the Master Race. We are divine gods on this planet. We are as different from the inferior races as they are from insects. In fact, compared to our race, other races are beasts and animals, cattle at best. Other races are considered as human excrement. Our destiny is to rule over the inferior races. Our earthly kingdom will be ruled by our leader with a rod of iron. The masses will lick our feet and serve us as our slaves." Former Israeli Prime Minister Menechem Begin
The systems, which are equipped with a camera and a machine gun, enable soldiers to watch any activity that takes place near the fence and if necessary to fire at the push of a button. The new system will soon be officially declared "operational," Ynet said.
The fact that these systems have a camera is absolutely no guarantee that innocent civilians won't get slaughtered, depending upon the mood of the IDF soldier handling the machine gun that particular day.
In fact, the use of this technology may well lead to an uptick in Palestinian deaths.
Widely expected to be the next prime minister, Netanyahu said he would not honor an agreement reached between Fatah chief Abbas and Olmert - who are currently engaged in frantic negotiations on final status issues. The nature of the hurried negotiations with the questionably-sovereign head of a fractured PA is to reach a US-imposed deadline of at least a theoretical deal for a Palestinian state by the end of 2008.
What Netanyahu has done has been to literally sabotage any possibility of an agreement by saying that Israel won't honor any agreement between Abbas and Olmert.
If "Bebe" Netanyahu unilaterally voids a peace deal made by the previous Prime Minister, the diplomatic future of any agreements made with any other nations is also in peril. .
Because if one Israeli PM can void out an agreement a previous Prime Minister has signed off on, then absolutely no foreign policy accords with any country with Israel can ever be seen to be binding, including those done with the US.
This means that Israel's word, as a nation, to another sovereign nation, can be scuttled at the whim of any future prime minister who doesn't like what his predecessor did.
That said, I do not think that Likud Chairman Netanyahu really has to worry.
Olmert appears to be just "running out the clock" on the current administration, waiting for what he believes may be a "better deal" on any Palestinian statehood from whoever winds up in office after the November elections.
A penalty of three years' imprisonment will be imposed on Israeli vehicle-owners who take their vehicles to mechanics in the West Bank under a law passed by the Knesset on Monday.
The authorities in the illegal Jewish settlement of Beitar Illit, which is built on stolen Palestinian land, regularly open their sewage tanks on to the farmlands of the Palestinian village of Wadi Fuqeen, ruining crops, contaminating the water table and posing a serious health threat to villagers.
Even in his wildest dreams, Midhat Radwan Abu Karsh never imagined that one day he would be tied up to a power pole and savagely beaten by bigoted Jewish settlers who believe that non-Jews are animals in a human shape.
Israeli Television, Chanel 10, showed on Thursday a video footage taken by Israeli soldiers filming themselves humiliating a bound and blindfolded Palestinian man at a military roadblock in the occupied West Bank, Israeli online daily, Haaretz, reported.
The Israeli siege of Gaza that has restricted access to food, water, and medicine is beginning to cause serious problems for newborn babies and pregnant mothers. "Many babies are born suffering from anemia that they have inherited from their mothers," said Dr. Salah al-Rantisi, head of the women's health department at the Palestinian ministry of health in Gaza. The mothers are becoming anemic because they do not get enough nutrition during pregnancy due to the Israeli blockade that has choked the supply of food and medicines.
The Israeli government understood precisely that this would be one of the outcomes of their siege of Gaza.
Apparently, this is an outcome they wanted to have happen.
Witnesses said that the tanks stormed the area and surrounded a group of farmers working their land then kidnapped at least five of them and took them to unknown locations. Meanwhile other Israeli forces attacked areas on the central Gaza/Israel borders and kidnappedat least three civilaians , local sources reported. On Wednesday the Israeli army attacked areas east of Gaza city killing five and injuring at ten others.
According to the Israeli military, the Wall must be built through the village's land for Israel's 'security' concerns. But villagers point out that the village lies far from the established 'Green Line' border between the West Bank and Israel, and the route of the Wall through their land is actually to annex for Israel hundreds of acres of land on which Israeli settlements have already been constructed - in direct violation of international law.
Shaving off slivers of Palestinian land, one olive grove at a time..............
The type of intimidation outlined by PHR is simply beyond belief. The dialog reads like a bad movie from the late 1940's. When a state organization, this time Israel's secret service Shin Bet, tells a human rights medical professional that "we know where your family members sleep" or that "we know where your children go to school" there is something seriously and systemically wrong in the state of Israel.
According to Haaretz, the Shin Bet interrogator even asked Yehya: "Would you mind if I called you once a while?" Would a US citizen be thrilled at the US Secret Service or Homeland Security giving them a periodic call to check in?
Israel indulges in this kind of behavior all the time; they just hate like hell getting caught at it.
Senior Israeli military officials stated on Wednesday that they believe that the Gaza Strip will witness a new war in the coming two months. The officials said that this war could happen although Hamas, in control of Gaza, is not interested at all in ending the truce.
Israeli military sources stated that even if Hamas is not interested in a new confrontation with Israel, "there are other factions in Gaza, such as the Islamic Jihad and other group close to Al Qaida, that will be interested in a new confrontation", according to the Israeli sources.
Webmaster's Commentary:
What we have here is a laying of the groundwork for a potentially massive Israeli invasion of Gaza before President-Elect Obama is sworn in, with some kind of "false flag" to be blamed on any group convenient, to kick it off.
The people of Gaza do not want war. The have seen enough violence, enough cruelty, and enough of the very real consequences of Israel's siege.
They want food, medicine, potable water, education, and the ability to live with dignity and prosperity beside their neighbors.
What Israel wants, and has always wanted, is ever-increasing land to create "Eretz Israel", or "Greater Israel", which in the minds of some Israelis, should stretch from the Nile to the Euphrates. Take a look at a map. That's some swath of territory.
Israeli politicians not going to let a small matter of the 1.3 million Palestinians who live here (roughly about one third of them living in UN refugee camps) get in their way on this issue, if they think they can get away with it.
When I read the following I had flashbacks to a time in the USA when certain states had it written into law forbidding a white person from cohabiting with a black person.... the same was true under the apartheid regime in South Africa....
Well, in its capacity as the apartheid capital of the world today, Israel is following suit....
Controversial conductor to lead orchestra of Israeli, Palestinian youths in concert 'against ignorance' in Jerusalem, says he will not partake in upcoming festivities marking Israel's independence out of respect for Palestinian suffering
Hizbullah on Wednesday slammed the international community for failing to act in the face of what it called repeated incursions by Israeli troops. "The Israeli violations are taking place every day on Lebanese soil... in front of everyone, including the United Nations troops" stationed in the south of the country, a statement said.
Of the 40,000 fishermen and others who make a living from the catch, only about 700 are still busy, according to the Fishing Syndicate in Gaza. The boats need oil, and Israel will not let the fishermen have it.
Now there is a move within the government to completely remove Arabic from the list of official Primary languages in Israel. With sixty years of ethnic cleansing of the Arab population in Israel, this move comes as no surprise.
Anyone inflicted with a severe hearing and speech impediment cannot undergo Jewish conversion. This harsh statement was recently made by Rabbi Avraham Sherman of the Chief Rabbinical Court, in a ruling now made public.
I couldn't believe I read that.... it's a total admission of plans to become the 'master race'. Today it's the deaf, tomorrow it's the disabled, Heaven only knows who's next.
The UN is demanding an investigation into how the Israeli military killed one of its Palestinian school teachers by blasting open the front door of her Gaza home with explosives in the presence of three of her children.
The IDF indulges in this kind of behavior all the time; they just hate like hell getting caught at it.
And the UN will not get any kind of an investigation; they will get some sort of pro forma apology, which will be delivered with "sincere regret at this unfortunate accident".
Finesh and his extended Bedouin family didn't intend to live in the middle of the Israeli military's training grounds. The Israeli government came along a few years ago and transformed the unauthorized Bedouin community into a military training site.
Last month, Israeli officials returned with a new warning for Finesh and the 200 other Bedouin residents: Move, or we'll demolish your homes.
This is what remained from the 8 years old Palestinian girl, Aya Al-Najjar, after being hit by an "Israeli" missile which "mistaken" its target during an air strike on a house in southern Gaza Strip.
Medical sources reported that the new casualty was seeking treatment outside Gaza strip. Rnia Thabet, aged 20 years old died due to the Israli ban over leaving. Israeli authorities neither secured her medicines nor allowed her to leave for treatment abroad.
Israeli politicians should be ashamed of themselves; unfortunately, it appears that shame over causing preventable deaths for sick Palestinian Gazans is not a part of their moral character.
The department of ambulance and emergency in the Gaza Strip announced that all ambulance vehicles in the Strip would come to a complete standstill by 0600 pm local time Saturday due to the lack of fuel.
That the policies insuring slow death for sick, suffering Gazans could have come from people who are themselves the children, and grandchildren, of Holocaust survivors, is very difficult for thinking people to comprehend.
Take a good, hard look at the woman in the picture at the top of this article.
During this past week, Israeli military forces invaded civilian villages trapped within Gaza's closed borders with tanks, helicopters, warplanes, and drones, massacring 39 and wounding over 100, including scores of unarmed children, babies, and women. Israel says this is punishment for the homemade Qassam rockets fired this week toward Sderot. The total number of Israelis killed by these Qassams was zero.
The Qassams are a perfect weapon from Israel's point of view. They are home-made, therefore untraceable, never hit anything important, and are always fired just when Israel needs an excuse to go bulldoze some more of Palestine.
UNRWA spokesman says fuel would be enough to continue food delivery operations for 20 days
This only happened because UNRWA made the issue a global issue by letting the world know that Israel was refusing to provide fuel to deliver food to the Palestinians.
Had they not, Gazan Palestinians would be starving by now.
The number of roadblocks in the West Bank has increased by 41 since September despite Israeli pledges to reduce them, the United Nations reported on Friday.
The number of roadblocks in the West Bank has increased by 41 since September despite Israeli pledges to reduce them, the United Nations reported on Friday.
Israeli government spokesman Mark Regev, speaking before the OCHA report was published, said Israel is doing its utmost to improve freedom of movement in the West Bank.
Apparently, no matter what the Israeli government states it will do regarding the Palestinians, one can always count on them doing the absolute opposite.
Palestinian medical sources in the Gaza Strip reported on Thursday evening that a 10-month old infant died at a local hospital in Gaza after Israel barred his family from transferring him to a hospital outside the Gaza Strip. Earlier n Thursday a 6-year old child died of kidney failure.
Earlier on Thursday a 6-year old child, identified as Imad Al Oweiny, died of kidney failure, at a local hospital in the Gaza Strip.
Israeli policy makers seem to be very happy with their very own "final solution" for sick Gazan Palestinian kids.
Denying medical treatment to infants and children?
Unflipping believable.
What should be done, collectively internationally, is a complete cessation of all international aid to Israel until the siege of Gaza is stopped.
Unfortunately, this will only happen when pigs fly, as international political leaders are terrified of being branded "anti-Semitic" for stopping aid to Israel.
So the international community watches, knows the suffering and death the siege has created, and does .....absolutely nothing.
The Zionist state was conceived as the answer to the problem of the European persecution of the Jews—a state where the Jews would find a safe haven, social justice and equality.
It was realised in the form of a capitalist state created by the dispossession of another people and maintained through war and repression, and social inequality at home.
Representatives of Breaking the Silence claim that their goal is "to encourage a public debate about the moral price paid by Israeli society as a whole due to the harsh reality faced by young soldiers forced to take control of a civilian population."
According to the organization, all testimonies were investigated fully before being printed and cross-referenced with witnesses' testimonies and archives of other human rights organizations.
This, coming out of Ynet, one of Israel's on-line English news resources, demonstrates, very clearly, that a dialogue among Israelis must be undertaken about what the IDF's torture of Palestinians is doing to the very psyche and fabric of the Israeli nation.
The other factor is that now, a number of these atrocities have been documented on cell phone cameras, and those grueling, horrific images can be sent around the world in a heartbeat.
Former Sephardi chief Rabbi Mordechai Eliyahu called on the government to decree that for every life lost in the attack another yeshiva and township will be formed.
"Even when we seek revenge, it is important to make one thing clear - the life of one yeshiva boy is worth more than the lives of 1,000 Arabs.
The Talmud states that if gentiles rob Israel of silver they will pay it back in gold, and all that is taken will be paid back in folds, but in cases like these there is nothing to pay back, since as I said - the life of one yeshiva boy is worth more than the lives of 1,000 Arabs," added Rabbi Eliyahu.
Acri says that the ban is to appease Israeli settlers operating concessions along the Dead Sea's northern shore. They fear losing Jewish customers if there are large numbers of Arabs using the beaches in territory seized by Israel during the Six Day War in 1967.
Knesset members outraged over government decision to reopen Gaza crossing on Tuesday for humanitarian aid despite terror attack at Kerem Shalom on Passover Eve. MK Eitam: 'Government busy rescuing Hamas instead of overthrowing it,' Labor's Yatom: 'Israel not responsible for Gaza'
Some day, in a dictionary, when the word "Israel" appears, there will be an asterisk and a direction to "see: brutal collective punishment".
There are some pretty choice quotes from shockingly honest Zionists. You can find them in places like here and here. A few samples (emphasis in red; if you wonder about my continuing concerns about the Zionist Empire, see 12 to 16; 11 is so accurate a statement of Israeli negotiating procedure it is almost funny):
"We came here to a country that was populated by Arabs and we are building here a Hebrew, a Jewish state; instead of the Arab villages, Jewish villages were established. You even do not know the names of those villages, and I do not blame you because these villages no longer exist. There is not a single Jewish settlement that was not established in the place of a former Arab Village." – Moshe Dyan, March 19, 1969, speech at the Technion in Haifa, quoted in Ha’aretz, April 4, 1969.
"Among ourselves, it must be clear that there is no place in the country for both peoples together. With the Arabs we shall not achieve our aim of being an independent people in this country. The only solution is Eretz-Israel, at least the west part of Eretz-Israel, without Arabs . . . And there is no other way but to transfer the Arabs from here to the neighbouring countries. Transfer all of them, not one village or tribe should remain . . ." –Joseph Weitz, entry in his diary for 1940 (quoted in his article: ‘A solution to the Refugee Problem: An Israeli State with a small Arab Minority’, published in Davar, 29 September, 1967.
"I gathered all of the Jewish mukhtars, who have contact with Arabs in different villages and asked them to whisper in the ears of some Arabs that a great Jewish reinforcement has arrived in Galilée and that it is going to burn all of the villages of the Huleh. They should suggest to these Arabs, as their friends, to escape while there is still time . . . The tactic reached its goal completely. The building of the police station at Halsa fell into our hands without a shot. The wide areas were cleaned . . ." – Yigal Allon, Ha Sepher Ha Palmach, Vol. 2, p. 268, 1948.
"...as uncontrolled panic spread through all Arab quarters, the Israelis brought up jeeps with loudspeakers which broadcast recorded 'horror sounds'. These included shrieks, wails and anguished moans of Arab women, the wail of sirens and the clang of fire-alarm bells, interrupted by a sepulchral voice calling out in Arabic: ‘Save your souls, all ye faithful: The Jews are using poison gas and atomic weapons. Run for your lives in the name of Allah'.” – Leo Heiman, Israeli Army Reserve Officer who fought in 1948. Marine Corps Gazette, June 1964.
"Because we took the land this gives us the image of being bad, of being aggressive. The Jews always considered that the land belonged to them, but in fact it belonged to the Arabs. I would go further: I would say the original source of this conflict lies with Israel, with the Jews – and you can quote me." – Yehoshofat Harkabi, former Israeli Chief of Military Intelligence, in ‘Peace Won't be a Plane Ticket to Cairo,’ International Armed Forces Journal, October 1973, p.30.
"It is unacceptable that nations made up of people who have only just come down from the trees should take themselves for world leaders . . . How can such primitive beings have an opinion of their own?" – Yitzhak Shamir, in reference to the black African nations who voted in support of the 1975 U.N. resolution, which denounced Zionism as a form of racism, in Yediot Ahronot, November 14, 1975.
"The thesis that the danger of genocide was hanging over us in June 1967 and that Israel was fighting for its physical existence is only bluff, which was born and developed after the war." – Israeli General Matityahu Peled, Ha'aretz, 19 March 1972.
"Let us not today fling accusations at the murderers. Who are we that we should argue against their hatred? For eight years now they sit in their refugee camps in Gaza, and before their very eyes, we turn into our homestead the land and the villages in which they and their forefathers have lived." – Moshe Dyan, 1953, quoted by Uri Avneri in Israel without Zionists, p. 134.
"I don't understand your optimism. Why should the Arabs make peace? If I was an Arab leader I would never make terms with Israel. That is natural: we have taken their country." – David Ben Gurion, 1956, quoted by Nahum Goldmann in The Jewish Paradox, Weidenfeld and Nicolson, 1978, p.99.
"We take the land first and the law comes after." – Mr. Palmon, Arab affairs adviser to the Mayor of Jerusalem, quoted in The Guardian, 26 April 1972.
"We must define our position and lay down basic principles for a settlement. Our demands should be moderate and balanced, and appear to be reasonable. But in fact they must involve such conditions as to ensure that the enemy rejects them. Then we should manoeuvre and allow him to define his own position, and reject a settlement on the basis of a compromise solution. We should then publish his demands as embodying unreasonable extremism." – General Yehoshafat Harkabi, Ma'ariv, 2 November 1973.
"To maintain the status quo will not do. We have to set up a dynamic state bent upon expansion." – David Ben Gurion, Rebirth and Destiny of Israel, The Philosophical Press, New York, 1954, p. 419.
"During the last 100 years our people have been in a process of building up the country and the nation, of expansion, of getting additional Jews and additional settlements in order to expand the borders here. Let no Jew say that the process has ended. Let no Jew say that we are near the end of the road." –Moshe Dyan, Ma'ariv, 7 July 1968.
"Palestine is a territory whose chief geographical feature is this: that the river Jordan does not delineate its frontier but flows through its centre." – Vladimir Jabotinsky, at the 16th Zionist Congress (1929), quoted by Desmond Stewart in The Middle East: Temple of Janus, p.304.
"Take the American Declaration of Independence for instance. It contains no mention of the territorial limits. We are not obliged to state the limits of our State." – Ben Gurion's diary, 14 May 1948, quoted by Michael Bar Zohar in The Armed Prophet, p.133.
"The Achilles heel of the Arab coalition is the Lebanon. Muslim supremacy in this country is artificial and can easily be overthrown. A Christian State ought to be set up there, with its southern frontier on the river Litani. We would sign a treaty of alliance with this State. Thus when we have broken the strength of the Arab Legion and bombed Amman, we could wipe out Transjordan; after that Syria would fall. And if Egypt still dared to make war on us, we would bomb Port Said, Alexandria and Cairo. We should thus end the war and would have but paid to Egypt, Assyria and Chaldea on behalf of our ancestors." – Ben Gurion's Diary, 21 May 1948, quoted by Michael Bar Zohar in The Armed Prophet, p.139.
"I shall not be ashamed to confess that if I had the power, as I have the will, I would select a score of efficient young men – intelligent, decent, devoted to our ideal and burning with the desire to help redeem Jews – and I would send them to the countries where Jews are absorbed in sinful self-satisfaction. The task of these young men would be to disguise themselves as non-Jews, and plague Jews with anti-Semitic slogans such as 'Bloody Jew', 'Jews go to Palestine' and similar intimacies. I can vouch that the results in terms of a considerable immigration to Israel from these countries would be ten thousand times larger than the results brought by thousands of emissaries who have been preaching for decades to deaf ears." – Davar, 1952, Editor Sharan, quoted by Alfred Lilienthal in The Other Side of the Coin, Devin-Adair, New York, p.47.
"We declare openly that the Arabs have no right to settle on even one centimeter of Eretz Israel . . . Force is all they do or ever will understand. We shall use the ultimate force until the Palestinians come crawling to us on all fours." – Rafael Eitan, Chief of Staff of the Israeli Defense Forces – Gad Becker, Yediot Ahronot 13 April 1983, New York Times 14 April 1983.
"We must do everything to ensure they (the Palestinian refugees) never do return." – David Ben-Gurion, in his diary, 18 July 1948, quoted in Michael Bar Zohar's Ben-Gurion: the Armed Prophet, Prentice-Hall, 1967, p. 157.
"We walked outside, Ben-Gurion accompanying us. Allon repeated his question, What is to be done with the Palestinian population?' Ben-Gurion waved his hand in a gesture which said 'Drive them out!'" – Yitzhak Rabin, leaked censored version of Rabin memoirs, published in the New York Times, 23 October 1979.
"There are some who believe that the non-Jewish population, even in a high percentage, within our borders will be more effectively under our surveillance; and there are some who believe the contrary, i.e., that it is easier to carry out surveillance over the activities of a neighbor than over those of a tenant. [I] tend to support the latter view and have an additional argument: . . . the need to sustain the character of the state which will henceforth be Jewish . . . with a non-Jewish minority limited to 15 percent.I had already reached this fundamental position as early as 1940 [and] it is entered in my diary." – Joseph Weitz, head of the Jewish Agency's Colonization Department. From Israel: an Apartheid State by Uri Davis, p.5.
"Everybody has to move, run and grab as many hilltops as they can to enlarge the settlements because everything we take now will stay ours . . . Everything we don't grab will go to them." – Ariel Sharon, Israeli Foreign Minister, addressing a meeting of militants from the Tsomet Party, Agence France Presse, November 15, 1998.
"Spirit the penniless population across the frontier by denying it employment . . . Both the process of expropriation and the removal of the poor must be carried out discreetly and circumspectly." – Theodore Herzl, founder of the World Zionist Organization, speaking of the Arabs of Palestine, Complete Diaries, June 12, 1895 entry.
"We will establish ourselves in Palestine whether you like it or not . . .You can hasten our arrival or you can equally retard it. It is however better for you to help us so as to avoid our constructive powers being turned into a destructive power which will overthrow the world." – Chaim Weizmann, in Judische Rundschau, No. 4, 1920.

Sixty years ago, more than 700,000 Palestinians lost their homes and belongings, their farms and businesses, their towns and cities. Jewish militias seeking to create a state with a Jewish majority in Palestine, and later, the Israeli army, drove them out. Israel rapidly moved Jews into the newly-emptied Palestinian homes. Nakba means "catastrophe" in Arabic, and Palestinians refer to the destruction of their society and the takeover of their homeland as an-Nakba, "The Catastrophe."

"The thesis that the danger of genocide was hanging over us in June 1967 and that Israel was fighting for its physical existence is only bluff, which was born and developed after the war." Israeli General Matityahu Peled, Ha'aretz, 19 March 1972.
David Ben Gurion (the first Israeli Prime Minister): "If I were an Arab leader, I would never sign an agreement with Israel. It is normal; we have taken their country. It is true God promised it to us, but how could that interest them? Our God is not theirs. There has been Anti - Semitism, the Nazis, Hitler, Auschwitz, but was that their fault ? They see but one thing: we have come and we have stolen their country. Why would they accept that?" Quoted by Nahum Goldmann in Le Paraddoxe Juif (The Jewish Paradox), pp121.
Ben Gurion also warned in 1948 : "We must do everything to insure they ( the Palestinians) never do return." Assuring his fellow Zionists that Palestinians will never come back to their homes. "The old will die and the young will forget."

We, the Jewish people, control America, and the Americans know it." - Israeli Prime Minister, Ariel Sharon, October 3, 2001, to Shimon Peres, as reported on Kol Yisrael radio. (Certainly the FBI's cover-up of the Israeli spy ring/phone tap scandal suggests that Mr. Sharon may not have been joking.)

"We should prepare to go over to the offensive. Our aim is to smash Lebanon, Trans-Jordan, and Syria. The weak point is Lebanon, for the Moslem regime is artificial and easy for us to undermine. We shall establish a Christian state there, and then we will smash the Arab Legion, eliminate Trans-Jordan; Syria will fall to us. We then bomb and move on and take Port Said, Alexandria and Sinai." David Ben-Gurion, May 1948, to the General Staff. From Ben-Gurion, A Biography, by Michael Ben-Zohar, Delacorte, New York 1978.

"Jewish villages were built in the place of Arab villages. You do not even know the names of these Arab villages, and I do not blame you because geography books no longer exist. Not only do the books not exist, the Arab villages are not there either. Nahlal arose in the place of Mahlul; Kibbutz Gvat in the place of Jibta; Kibbutz Sarid in the place of Huneifis; and Kefar Yehushua in the place of Tal al-Shuman. There is not a single place built in this country that did not have a former Arab population." Moshe Dayan, address to the Technion, Haifa, reported in Haaretz, April 4, 1969.

It is however better for you to help us so as to avoid our constructive powers being turned into a destructive power which will overthrow the world." (Chaim Weizmann, Published in "Judische Rundschau," No. 4, 1920)
In the meeting, which included US Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, Barak asked the members of the bipartisan congressional delegation to think how they would act if for seven years San Diego had been bombarded by rockets from Tijuana, just across the Mexican border.
Ever the champion of the false comparison, Barak once more does a tap dance on his tonsils.
Let's start with the most obvious.
The US is not trying to wrest territory from Tijuana.
With its accelerated building program, Israel is continuing to build on- and encroach - Palestinian land.
The US doesn't have massive concrete barriers which take away land from Mexicans, making a reasonable 15 minute trip take two hours because of "US only" roads and barriers.
The US does not have pregnant Mexican women stand for hours at checkpoints, screaming in the pain of labor, and frequently losing their children because no medical care is allowed.
The US does not demolish homes of Mexicans in Tijuana because of "illegal building"; Israel does that to Palestinians on a daily basis.
The US has not cut off Tijuana from outside medical care if they need it; daily in Gaza, Palestinians die because they are denied life-saving treatments (and yes, this includes infants and children as well).
The US does not routinely murder women and children in Mexico; the IDF does this to Palestinian women and children with impunity; they just hate like hell getting caught at it.
The US has not created a siege condition in Tijuana, where food, water, and fuel are scarce to the point of near-starvation.
Israel has done this to Gazan Palestinians.
As horrendous as any deaths in this situation are on either side, is it any wonder that Palestinian fury at being treated as non-humans erupts in violence?
And the violence inevitably leads to completely non-proportional retribution on the Israeli side, which is what the world is about to witness, yet again.
And the world will again be silent, refusing to understand that if peaceful revolution is impossible, violent revolution is inevitable.
