Even though the H1N1 pandemic appears to have peaked out, U.S. President Barack Obama has now declared a national emergency over swine flu infections. The reasoning behind such a declaration? According to the White House, it's designed to "allow hospitals to better handle the surge in patients" by allowing them to bypass certain federal laws.
That's the public explanation for this, but the real agenda behind this declaration may be far more sinister. Declaring a national emergency immediately gives federal authorities dangerous new powers that can now be enforced at gunpoint, including:
• The power to force mandatory swine flu vaccinations on the entire population.
• The power to arrest, quarantine or "involuntarily transport" anyone who refuses a swine flu vaccination.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is allowing the use of an experimental antiviral drug to treat severe cases of H1N1 or swine flu.
The drug, Peramivir, is currently being developed by BioCryst Pharmaceuticals Inc. and is undergoing testing required for regular FDA approval.
The FDA issued a so-called emergency use authorization late Friday that allows doctors to use Peramivir, which is delivered intravenously, in certain hospitalized adult and pediatric patients with confirmed or suspected H1N1 influenza.
The emergency-use authorization allows use of the drug without prior FDA approval.
Il semble qu’il y ait deux types de vaccins contre la grippe H1N1.
Le premier, pour les politiciens et l’armée, ne contient aucun adjuvent et est plus sécuritaire que celui qui serait administré à la population générale.

Just a week after it emerged that the German armed forces was getting a different kind of A/H1N1 vaccine to the general population, Der Spiegel magazine reports that the government will also get special treatment.

The general population will be offered the GlaxoSmithKline vaccine, called Pandemrix, which contains a new booster element, or adjuvant, as well as a preservative containing mercury.
Controversy has grown around the rapid licensing of the GSK vaccine – and a similar one being made by Novartis. Critics said not enough testing had been conducted before European licensing authorities rushed an approval.
Chancellor Angela Merkel, her cabinet members and ministry civil servants as well as those working for other agencies will get Celvapan, produced by US firm Baxter, which does not have the adjuvant or the preservative, according to Der Spiegel.
A new study found that primates that received just ONE vaccination containing thimerosal, the mercury-preservative found in many vaccines including the new swine flu shot, had significant neurological impairment when compared with those who received a saline solution injection or no injection at all.
Although the paper is carefully worded and the results reported modestly, these findings are certain to receive intense scrutiny. The vast majority of American infants born during the 1990’s received a vaccine formulation similar to the one the thirteen vaccinated primates received.
Thimerosal-containing vaccines are still routinely administered to newborn infants in developing countries such as Brazil, and most influenza vaccines contain thimerosal and are routinely administered to pregnant women and infants.
The finding that early exposure to potentially toxic vaccine formulations can cause significant neurodevelopmental delays in primates has explosive implications for vaccine safety management.
Is the 2009 H1N1 flu shot expected to be associated with Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS)?
In 1976, an earlier type of swine flu vaccine was associated with cases of a severe paralytic illness called Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS) at a rate of approximately 1 case of GBS per 100,000 persons vaccinated. Some studies done since 1976 have shown a small risk of GBS in persons who received the seasonal influenza vaccine. This risk is estimated to be no more than 1 case of GBS per 1 million persons vaccinated. Pregnant women should tell the person giving the shots if they have ever had GBS.
Amsterdam - The needles used to vaccinate people against swineflu are blunt, says familydoctor Jan Takken in the online version of Medical Contact. "When you inject a patient, it gives a nasty, abrasive feeling", according to Takken in the professional journal.
At The National Familydoctors Association (LHV), a spokesperson confirms different needles are used than the regular ones used for the seasonal flu-vaccinations. "Those needles are specifically developed for this vaccine", explains a spokeswoman of the Dutch Vaccine Institute (NVI). source: ANP
TORONTO (CBC) - Canada has officially entered the second wave of the H1N1 flu pandemic, Health Minister Leona Aglukkaq said Friday.
"We are starting to see an increase in the number of people who are getting sick from H1N1," Aglukkaq said in declaring the start of the second wave.
"We've had some deaths this week. It is a serious situation."
The move into the second pandemic phase means that a drop in flu cases won't occur until enough people have been inoculated against the H1N1 influenza A virus either through vaccination or by contracting the virus, said Dr. David Butler-Jones, Canada's chief public health officer. He spoke to reporters via teleconference.
Health officials in British Columbia, Quebec and the Northwest Territories had already declared the start of a second wave, but this is the first time the same has been done on a national level.
Federal public health officials based their decision on four criteria, Butler-Jones said:
Since last week, three more swine flu deaths have been reported in Canada, bringing the total number of fatalities to 86, Aglukkaq told reporters from Yellowknife.
Canadians should rest assured that officials have been responding as if the second wave was already underway, she said.
Icelanders like Jon Ogmundsson have endured many hardships in the last year, including soaring inflation, rising unemployment and a banking crisis so serious the country nearly declared bankruptcy.
Now Iceland's battered economy is claiming one more victim – McDonald's.
Mr. Ogmundsson owns the country's three McDonald's restaurants and he plans to close them all this week. He says Iceland's troubled currency, the krona, is to blame. It has lost almost 70 per cent of its value against the euro in the last 18 months, driving up the cost of imports including the beef, cheese and special sauces Mr. Ogmundsson brings in from Germany.

This case, naming George H W Bush, William J Clinton, George W Bush, Barack H Obama, Margaret Thatcher, John Major, Anthony Blair and Gordon Brown, is brought by Iraqis and others who stand in solidarity with the Iraqi people and in defence of their rights and international law.
“Armed officers in full battle gear will be scattered throughout the Bay Area this weekend, rescuing hostages, fighting bank robbers and quelling terrorism at the Oakland Airport, Lawrence Livermore Laboratory, the NASA Ames Research Center and 22 other high profile sites,” writes Sophia Kazmi. “For the first time in the three-year history of the Alameda County Sheriff’s Department-sponsored exercise, there will be a foreign team of officers taking part and international observers. An eight-member team representing the French National Police’s Research, Assistance, Intervention, and Dissuasion unit will compete” (emphasis added).
Webmaster's Commentary:
One has to wonder, looking at the inclusion of French troops in this exercise, if the US government not believe that they can count on their own state police departments to follow its dictates in some sort of crisis or emergency?
The DPJ is reportedly playing hardball now, however, threatening to kick the US military off the island of Okinawa, which is where the bulk of their presence is situated. The islanders have long complained about the major burden of tens of thousands of US soldiers occupying a large chunk of their island.
The LDP’s solution was to pay the US billions of dollars to relocate one of their bases. The DPJ however insists that if the US wants a sustainable alliance with Japan it will return to the bargaining table, and soon.
Worried about a new direction in Japan's foreign policy, the Obama administration warned the Tokyo government Wednesday of serious consequences if it reneges on a military realignment plan formulated to deal with a rising China.
The comments from Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates underscored increasing concern among U.S. officials as Japan moves to redefine its alliance with the United States and its place in Asia. In August, the opposition Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ) won an overwhelming victory in elections, ending more than 50 years of one-party rule.
Webmaster's Commentary:
In terms of providing "serious consequences" if Japan is moving away from its previous level of alignment with the US, there is little the US can actually do right now, other than threaten, due to geopolitical stresses elsewhere.
Georgia's attack on its breakaway South Ossetia region marked the start of last year's war with Russia, which retaliated with excessive force, an EU-commissioned report said Wednesday.
The report on the five-day war in August 2008 lay blame on both sides, but cited Georgia as starting the conflict with its night shelling in South Ossetia — an act it said was not justifiable under international law.

Two new reports dealing with the June 28 military coup in Honduras have demolished the arguments of the current de facto government and its foreign apologists that the coup was consistent with the Honduran constitution and that most Hondurans welcomed the illegal ouster of the country’s democratically elected president, Mel Zelaya.
The U.S. has intensified military involvement in Africa over the past seven years with such projects as the Pan Sahel Initiative (PSI), launched by the State Department but which deployed US Army Special Forces with the Special Operations Command Europe to Mali and Mauritania among other locations. U.S. military personnel are still engaged in the counterinsurgency wars in Mali and Niger against Tuareg rebels.
America’s establishment of the so-called African Command(AFRICOM), should be seen for what it is: America’s self-interested armada of protection for America, and her allies and not for Africa’s security. Africa has steadily and increasingly become more important by playing the role for Westerners as repository of energy resources which powers the engine-rooms of Western economies.
Initially, it should be emphasized that yet again, it is not the Congress or the establishment media which is uncovering these abuses and forcing disclosure of government misconduct. Rather, it is the ACLU (with which I consult) that, along with other human rights organizations, has had to fill the void left by those failed institutions, using their own funds to pursue litigation to compel disclosure. Without their efforts, we would know vastly less than we know now about the crimes our government committed.
The Obama administration will continue the Bush administration’s practice of sending terror suspects to third countries for detention and interrogation, but will monitor their treatment to ensure they are not tortured, administration officials said on Monday.

The change begins to lift the veil from the American government’s most secretive remaining overseas prisons by allowing the Red Cross to track the custody of dozens of the most dangerous suspected terrorists and foreign fighters plucked off the battlefields in Iraq and Afghanistan.
CIA interrogators threatened a captured al-Qaida leader with a power drill and a pistol in what was described as a mock execution, according to a long-suppressed report due to be released on Monday.
Details of the report by the spy agency's inspector general have emerged in the Washington Post and Newsweek. The full findings on the CIA's interrogation programme are to be made public after a federal judge upheld an appeal from the American Civil Liberties Union for their release.
The report is understood to describe mock executions where interrogators tried to get detainees to talk by firing a gun in an adjoining room to pretend another prisoner had been killed.
Nine Republican lawmakers sent a letter to Eric Holder saying the US could face a terrorist attack if the attorney general appoints a special prosecutor to investigate the CIA's use of torture against "war on terror" suspects.

A newly declassified version of a CIA report revealed Monday that CIA interrogators once threatened to kill a Sept. 11 suspect's children and suggested another would be forced to watch his mother sexually assaulted.
Hal Turner called her ‘a violent, black, racist, bitch’ whose lynching would teach other Blacks that ‘white people are tired of your bullshit, behave or die’

Remember what I said about the government splitting us up into groups and goading them to fight each other to prevent us from uniting to resist the government?
This is a perfect example.
The FBI paid Hal Turner to promote racism in our society.
We the People, in order to restore rule of law and accountability to our Republic, respectfully insist that you, as an elected representative, squarely face the facts concerning the events of September 11, 2001 and the implications thereof.
It is our moral and civic duty to entrust to you facts and scientific analyses in the form of peer-reviewed, published scientific papers that clearly and conclusively prove thousands of our fellow human beings and citizens were murdered in controlled and criminal demolitions on September 11, 2001.
Plausible deniability of these facts and evidence is no longer possible.
Only one crime was solved by each 1,000 CCTV cameras in London last year, a report into the city’s surveillance network has claimed.
The internal police report found the million-plus cameras in London rarely help catch criminals.
In one month CCTV helped capture just eight out of 269 suspected robbers.
David Davis MP, the former shadow home secretary, said: “It should provoke a long overdue rethink on where the crime prevention budget is being spent.”
He added: “CCTV leads to massive expense and minimum effectiveness.
“It creates a huge intrusion on privacy, yet provides little or no improvement in security.
“The Metropolitan Police has been extraordinarily slow to act to deal with the ineffectiveness of CCTV.”
A secret court is seizing the assets of thousands of elderly and mentally impaired people and turning control of their lives over to the State - against the wishes of their relatives.
The draconian measures are being imposed by the little-known Court of Protection, set up two years ago to act in the interests of people suffering from Alzheimer's or other mental incapacity.
The court hears about 23,000 cases a year - always in private - involving people deemed unable to take their own decisions. Using far-reaching powers, the court has so far taken control of more than £3.2billion of assets.
That the Obama administration, purportedly representing fundamental change from the previous government, has embraced the felonious methods of the Bush crime family and its capo tutti capo, Richard Cheney, should surprise no one. Like their Republican colleagues, the Democrats are equally complicit in the antidemocratic programs of repression assembled under the mendacious banner of the "global war on terror."
Around 100 ground zero recovery workers have died of cancer, with a further 600 hundred diagnosed with the disease.
City, state and federal officials have not acknowledged a direct link between the cancer cases and ground zero toxins. Congress has yet to approve 9/11 health legislation calling for federal financial coverage of health costs for rescue workers
Webmaster's Commentary:
Every one of these people diagnosed with cancer because of their exposure to the toxic fumes they braved to get people to safety should be getting the precise same medical care as Dick Cheney gets - for life.

The growing movements for civilian rule in Pakistan are seen as undermining counterinsurgency efforts. A New York Times article states how Washington is trying to "convince Pakistan that the insurgency, not internal politics, was the most important challenge." It appears to be lost on successive U.S administrations that U.S policies itself, such as the escalating drone attacks, have created much of this internal dissent about Pakistan's role in the War on Terror.
But what, I asked General Gul, in his view, were the true reasons for the invasion of Afghanistan, and why the US is still there? “A very good question,” he responded. “I think you have reached the point precisely. It is a principle of war that you never mix objectives. Because when you mix objectives then you end up with egg on your face. You face defeat. And here was a case where the objectives were mixed up. Ostensibly, it was to disperse al Qaeda, to get Osama bin Laden. But latently, the reasons for the offensive, for the attack on Afghanistan, were quite different.”

TEHRAN - The Iranian Oil Bourse was inaugurated on Monday in the Persian Gulfisland of Kish as a venue to export oil and petrochemical products.
National Petrochemical Company's Managing Director Adel Nejad-Salim said in the opening ceremony that all petrochemical products will be gradually offered on the market, IRNA news agency reported.
The oil bourse is intended as an exchange market for petroleum, gas, and petrochemicals in various currencies, primarily the euro and Iranian rial, and a basket of other major currencies.
On February 4, 2008 the Iranian Cabinet approved the creation of the oil bourse in two stages - first for crude and second for oil byproducts transactions.
Iran agreed “in principle” to a process that will put about 80 per cent of its existing enriched uranium supplies beyond military use, in a goodwill gesture that raised hopes of a diplomatic solution to its stand-off with the West.
Its announcement on Friday will raise suspicions it just wants to bog down the limited deal on offer in further delay and, although more talks are likely, attention will turn east.
Given that Israeli government has made a nuclear-free Iran its prime international goal, a military strike to try to achieve that is now correspondingly more likely.
Webmaster's Commentary:
For the trillionth time: Iran did not "miss a deadline"; the date of 23 October was a suggestion by El Baradei of the IAEA for a timetable, but not a hard and fast deadline.
Iran has requested a couple more days to respond, and put together a counter-proposal for the IAEA, which will be reviewed by the IAEA team next week in Vienna.
Reasonable people in Washington and Tel Aviv should be listening, and watching appropriately.
But the worst possible solution to Iran's pursuing nuclear enrichment, which it has the legal right to do as a signatory to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, would be a war.
And as to Israel's all consuming desire for a "nuclear-free Iran (when all inspections by the IAEA indicate that there has been no weapons-grade enrichment, and that no nuclear materials have gone missing), I've got an even better idea for it.
How about a nuclear free Israel, which has nuclear weapons, and will not sign the Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty, and not allow inspections?!?
Iranian authorities presented a condemned Sunni rebel to reporters on Tuesday who said his group had received support from both the United States and al Qaeda to attack targets inside Iran.
TEHRAN (Reuters) - The head of Iran's Revolutionary Guards on Monday vowed to "retaliate" against the United States and Britain after accusing them of backing the perpetrators of a suicide bombing that killed six Guards commanders.
Iranian media say the Sunni Muslim insurgent group Jundollah (God's soldiers) has claimed responsibility for Sunday's bombing in Sistan-Baluchestan province, which killed 42 people in all.
The incident threatened to overshadow talks between Iran and global powers in Vienna on Monday intended to tackle a standoff about Iran's nuclear ambitions.
Guards commander-in-chief Mohammad Ali Jafari said Iranian security officials had presented documents indicating "direct ties" from Jundollah to U.S., British and, "unfortunately," Pakistani intelligence organizations, the ISNA news agency said.
"Behind this scene are the American and British intelligence apparatus, and there will have to be retaliatory measures to punish them," Jafari was quoted as saying.
Jundollah, which has been blamed for many attacks since 2005 in the desert province bordering Pakistan, says it is fighting to end discrimination against Sunni Muslims by Iran's dominant Shi'ites. Its leader is Abdolmalek Rigi.
"This person himself and his plans are undoubtedly under the umbrella and the protection of these (U.S., British and Pakistani) organizations," Jafari said.
"TRAINED BY U.S. AND BRITAIN"
Iranian television quoted General Mohammad Pakpour, commander of the Guards' ground forces, whose deputy was killed in the bombing, as saying:
"The base of the terrorists and rebels has not been in Iran. They are trained by America and Britain in some of the neighboring countries."
The United States, Pakistan and Britain have all condemned the bombing, the bloodiest attack in Iran since the 1980-88 war with Iraq, and denied involvement.
A top Sunni rebel who is awaiting execution in Iran said on Tuesday that his militant group received orders from the United States to launch terror attacks in the Islamic republic.
Iran has discovered more than 8.8 billion barrels of oil in four layers of reserves in the country's southwestern Susangerd oil field.
"These reserves were discovered after drilling through all the new layers of reserves, to a depth of 5,026 meters (16,489.5 ft), and the expected and possible amount of reserves in this field is over 8.83 billion barrels," Iran's Oil Minister Gholam-Hossein Nozari said in a statement on Monday.

"The invasion of Iran starts tomorrow. We can no longer tolerate the presence of, the presence of, ... what the @#%^ is it we object to over there? Right; The power station. We can no longer tolerate the presence of a power station in Iran. Wait a second, that doesn't sound right. Why would we object to a power station? Nukes? We did that in Iraq and fell flat on our faces!! Screw it; everyone knows we are lying anyway; The invasion of Iran starts tomorrow. They have oil. We want to steal it." -- Official White Horse Souse
The sixth Sa'ada war between central government forces and Houthi rebels in Yemen's north is well underway and expected to drag on given the latter's rolls of fresh recruits from the region and their unconventional tactics aided by weapons from Iran, according to the country's ruling party.
A military source quoted by another pan-Arab daily, Asharq Al-Awsat, said the army had seized six depots of Iranian-made weapons in the region, 240 kilometers (149 miles) north of the Yemeni capital Sana'a.
Webmaster's Commentary:
Notice that Iran is being fingered, but absolutely no proof is offered in this article. There are no photos, no nothing which would conclusively ID these weapons as having Iranian origin.
"The Sana’a regime, perverted by corruption, is largely unable to provide public services, including water, electricity, security, medical care and education. A third of Yemenis—7 million people—are malnourished. Police and military units act as enforcers for corrupt officials. The judiciary dispenses political retribution. Torture in Yemeni jails is systemic and brutal."
"U.S. aid proposed for 2010 is at the highest levels in years. The Department of Defense allocated $66 million in military aid, mostly for patrol boats and armored pick-ups. Congress’ Foreign Operation Appropriation bill includes an additional $15 million in military aid and $40 million in development and economic aid."
So what is the US doing here?!?
We're propping up yet another tinpot dictator who has utterly no regard for the welfare of his own people. And what kind of accountability happens in terms of how this aid is actually spent?
My bet would be, zero, zip, none.
When peaceful revolution becomes impossible, violent revolution becomes inevitable.
The US State Department, the Pentagon, and the White House should understand that by now, but apparently, they don't.
ran will continue to cooperate with the UN nuclear watchdog, the Foreign Ministry said on Monday, apparently confirming Tehran had given inspectors access to a reactor under construction after barring visits for a year.
The changes were greeted with skepticism by the West, which suspects Iran is trying to build nuclear bombs. Tehran says its nuclear work is to generate electricity. Uranium enrichment can have both civilian and military uses.
Webmaster's Commentary:
Unfortunately for Iran, even allowing the IAEA this access will not ultimately stop Israel, if Israel decides that the US must "neutralize" Iran.
The timetable is in place, with barely one month left for Iran to accede to Obama's demands. And the whole insanity of this situation is, Iran is perfectly within its rights to use nuclear energy peacefully, i.e., build a power plant.
I would not bet against some kind of "October Surprise", attempted by the US government to galvanize the American people against Iran in support of some kind of military strike.
The only minor problem with this scenario is, both Hu of China and Medvedev of Russia have warned Tel Aviv and Washington that such a military attack will lead to World War III.
In the case of the US, it is precisely the lack of economic ties that is driving its confrontation with Iran. One only has to ask the question: what would happen if relations with Iran were normalised and sanctions lifted? Immediately there would be a scramble for economic position and political influence in Tehran by all the major powers. The US, which has no diplomatic relations with and virtually no trade and investment in Iran, would be starting with a major disadvantage. Confrontation and sanctions, on the other hand, serve to undermine the position of US rivals.
Webmaster's Commentary:
So, the US Government is bashing Iran to prevent the rest of the world from gaining an economic advantage over the US?
Now THERE's a great reason to let your children be killed and crippled!
Israel and the United States started on Wednesday their largest-ever air defense drill simulating missile attacks on the Zionist entity dubbed Juniper Cobra, officials said.
During the two-week maneuvers,Juniper Cobra, some 1,000 American personnel will mesh ground- and ship-based missile interceptors like the Aegis, THAAD and Patriot with Israel's Arrow II ballistic shield, defense officials said.
The US has also dispatched 17 warships, including those planned to fire dummy projectiles to test defenses, and radar ships that will play an integral part in the exercise.
Head of the UN Fact Finding Mission Justice Richard Goldstone presented the report of the Mission to the Human Rights Council in Geneva on 29 September 2009, urging the Council and the international community as a whole to put an end to impunity for violations of international law in Israel and the OccupiedPalestinianTerritory.
Before the meeting, a top U.S. official had said that while the Goldstone report raised important questions, a Human Rights Council discussion on those issues would better serve its conclusions.
Webmaster's Commentary:
The US whores itself for Israel yet again. In fact they didn't even wait to get all their clothes all the way off; they moved so fast on this one!
Of course, to the eyes of the world this just makes Israel look all that much more guilty when they spin and dodge away from these, and of course it just underscores that the US Goverment is totally under the control of Israel when they work this hard to protect Israel from war crimes charges.
Right now the US needs friends to deal with the economic crash and Israel isn't it, nor is being Israel's thug winning us the kinds of friends we do need.
But the really delicious irony here is that by blocking war crimes charges for Israel, the US has destroyed the push for a global government, because if Israel will not comply with international law and the United Nations, then they will not comply with a global government, and if one nation refuses to comply with a global government, then it is not global government but just another almost-got-it-all empire.
The New World Order cannot come into existence as long as Israel holds itself above the law of nations.
"The basic principle of the legitimate right of a democratic country to retaliate against terror is being crushed by a body belonging to the U.N. and this is a terrible blow to the organization,” Netanyahu said.
Webmaster's Commentary:
Netanyahu is trying to play the "How DARE you accuse God's chosen people of war crimes" gambit here, but in a way, Netanyahu is correct; the Goldstone report does threaten the legitimacy of the United Nations, just not in the way Netanyahu hopes to portray it.
Faced with a clear and obvious case of War Crimes, the United Nations will be seem as irrelevant and indeed impotent if Israel and the United States succeed in blocking the referral of the Goldstone Report to the War Crimes Tribunal at the Hague.
But Israel and the US will be riding their own petard on this one, because failure to refer the war crimes charges for trial will not be seen as exoneration of Israel, but as further proof of Israel subversion and control of the United States Government.
Either way, this is a diplomatic disaster for Israel and for their continued attempt to portray themselves as helpless victims. All the United Nations can do is decide whether to allow their own credibility to get dragged down with the US and Israel.
The League of Nations, a forerunner of the United Nations, was created in the wake of WWI to prevent further global conflict. The league was destroyed in order to get it out of the way of WWII.
The United Nations was created in the wake of WWII to prevent further global conflict.
And now we see Israel undermining the United Nations even as it pushes other nations into a new global war.
Israel relayed a sharply worded protest to the Russian government following Russia's vote in favor of adopting the Goldstone report at the Human Rights Council in Geneva Friday, according to senior Foreign Ministry officials in Jerusalem.
Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman suffered a personal blow by the Russian vote, which went against the promises he received from his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, days prior to the vote at the United Nations body.
Russian officials clarified that Moscow would oppose any discussion of the Goldstone report by the UN Security Council, Israel Radio reported on Sunday night.
Webmaster's Commentary:
What is really sickening about all this deal making is that nobody even bothers with the illusion any more that their decisions are based on law or morality.
The United Nations Human Rights Council has endorsed a report into Israel’s 22-day assault on Gaza in December and January, accusing Israel of war crimes.
Israel’s premier, Binyamin Netanyahu, predictably denounced the report as biased against Israel and unjust and insisted that he would not allow any Israeli officials to face trial for war crimes. The Obama administration echoed Israel, calling the report unbalanced, and said that its adoption would damage the possibility of resuming talks between Israel and the Palestinians. The talks are a necessary fig leaf for bringing the Arab regimes on side against Iran.
Webmaster's Commentary:
In other words, Obama wants to be able to pretend to have peace talks to sucker the other Arab states into putting pressure on Iran, but in reality one does not move the peace process forward by allowing Israel to commit war crimes with impunity. That's like letting Jeffrey Dahmer go free and hoping indigestion will eventually make him stop.
In a meeting today with America’s Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice, Israeli President Shimon Peres condemned the UN for “spreading lies” in allowing the Goldstone Report’s consideration.
Webmaster's Commentary:
Translation: Ambassador Rice has been given her "marching orders" from Tel Aviv as to precisely how she is going to handle the issue of the Goldstone report at the UN.
US ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice called on Wednesday for an end to "anti-Israel vitriol" at the United Nations, where the General Assembly is expected to debate a Gaza war crimes report.
She also stressed Washington's commitment to fighting extremism.
"We will stand by our friends on the frontlines and we will uphold the inalienable right to self-defence," she said.
Webmaster's Commentary:
Uh, Madame Ambassador, does that "...inalienable right to self-defence..." include the murdering of Palestinian children?!?
Israeli prime minister Binyamin Netanyahu has instructed his government to draw up plans for a "world wide campaign" to lobby for changes in the international laws of war. Netanyahu’s order is Israel's response to the UN's Goldstone report, which condemned Israel's actions during its war on Gaza. Netanyahu also called for the formation of a special committee to deal with the international legal consequences of the report and the prospect Israeli officials could face war crimes trials abroad.
This is on the same moral level as when the US declared that "Enemy Combatants" were not really "Prisoners of War" and therefore the Geneva rules did not apply.
UN human rights investigator Richard Goldstone has rejected Israel's claim that the peace process would be harmed by his report on the offensive in Gaza.
Webmaster's Commentary:
The fastest way to peace is to hang the war criminals.
The United Nations Human Rights Council on Friday endorsed a report that accused both Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas of committing war crimes during their December-January conflict in Gaza.
In a special session, 25 of the body's members voted in favor of the resolution that chastised Israel for failing to cooperate with the UN mission led by South African jurist Richard Goldstone. Another 6 voted against and 11 abstained.
A day before the UN Human Rights Council convenes to debate on a UN report accusing Israel of war crimes in Gaza, Tel Aviv threatens to scrap peace talks with Palestinians unless the damning report is dropped.
Webmaster's Commentary:
"We will go on committing war crimes against the Palestinians unless you drop the report about how we are committing war crimes ... against ... Palestinians ... ummm ... Let me rephrase that."
Israel does not seem to understand that this kind of heavy-handed attempt to bully their way past the Goldstone Report only makes it more obvious they have something to hide.
With the United Nations now acknowledging that Israel's actions in Gaza amounted to war crimes, Obama's video statements of unquestioning support for Israel are in essence a confession that he too is a war criminal. Please forward and repost this everywhere!
The national security adviser has instructed all government officials involved in the Iranian nuclear issue not to respond to media reports on a draft agreement between Iran and the West regarding uranium enrichment in Russia.
Webmaster's Commentary:
Israel is cornered here. For that matter so is the United States. When this Iran deal goes through on Friday, the primary excuse for war with Iran evaporates.
Where does that leave Israel and the United States?
Israel now faces war crimes charges at the Hague. Yes, the United States will veto the Goldstone Report in the Security Council, but the ringer in the deal is that the General assembly, under Resolution 377, can bypass the Security Council and send the Goldstone Report to the Hague and the United States and Israel cannot stop it. Earlier this year, the General Assembly voted through a resolution requesting Israel to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and submit to the exact same IAEA inspections that Iran (and every other NNPT signatory) submits to. Israel refused. The fact that Israel and the United States were not able to deflect this Resolution tell us that the General Assembly has lost all patience with Israel. The credibility of the UN as a world governing body is on the line. The probability that the General Assembly will bypass the Security Council is therefore very high. A war with Iran would have distracted the media from Israel's war crimes charges. That seems not likely to happen now.
As for the United States, the US Government was hoping to ignite a new major war, one which would distract Americans from the already failed wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, not to mention the economy destroyed by failed US Government policy. And based on prior history, the US Government probably anticipates that a new major war would persuade Americans to forget their anger over the aforesaid failed government policy, and imbued with a renewed patriotic fervor would suddenly return to being obedient breeders of soldiers and payers of war-taxes. As naive as that expectation might have been, the Iran enrichment deal ends the possibility of a new war with which to distract from the old war.
So both the United States and Israel are in serious trouble. They had wanted war with Iran to distract the world from their various domestic problems, and now that is not likely to happen. Israel has to live with their war crimes charges. The US has to live with their ruined economy and failed wars, and public anger. Both Israel and the US are showing themselves as desperate to block Israel war crimes charged from progressing, and may have wasted that political capital in vain if the UN General; Assembly invokes Resolution 377.
So, in short, Israel and the US are cornered politically. Cornered animals are the most dangerous and desperate. Our future is in the hands of whichever leader is the least mentally stable, and ready to hit the panic button. That panic move; that striking out from the corner could be something subtle like a new false-flag "terror" attack, or something as straightforward as simply attacking Iran without provocation.
But Israel and the US are cornered right now. and we should be prepared to see them act like it.
The United Nations today called on Israel to immediately halt forced evictions and demolitions of Palestinian homes in East Jerusalem, warning that as many as 60,000 people there may be at risk of forced evictions, demolitions and displacement.
Israeli occupation army fired seven artillery shells at the Wadi Slouki region, near the town of Houla in south Lebanon. News agencies reported a Katyusha rocket had been fired earlier from the same bombed region targeting an open area in the Israeli settlement of Keryat Shmona without causing injuries.
A Katyusha-type rocket fired from Lebanon hit northern Israel on Tuesday night without causing any casualties, prompting Israel to retaliate with a salvo of missiles, sources on both sides said.
The rocket fired from Lebanon hit open ground east of the Israeli town of Kiryat Shmona and started a fire, which did not cause any serious damage, they said.
Webmaster's Commentary:
Now that war with Iran is derailed by the pending nuclear agreement, Israel needs a war to distract the world from War Crimes charges being brought at the UN.
As usual, just when Israel needs it, an unidentified party fires a single fireworks rocket into Israel, hitting nothing of any value, thereby justifying Israel's "retaliation."
I mean, just stop and ask yourself, why would anyone actually in Lebanon give Israel what it most needs to have right now; a rocket that hits absolutely nothing of value, but gives Israel the excuse it needs for another attack on Lebanon? The Lebanese aren't stupid enough to do that, and you are not stupid enough to believe it.
Inthis report, the rockets are old, fired with delayed timers, and propped up against pieces of furniture as launchers, meaning they were never intended to hit a specific target; just create a politically useful noise.
Israel’s Ministry of the Interior is expected to approve could become the most populous single settlement in the occupied Palestinian territories since 1967, an Israeli newspaper reported on Wendesday.
The Hebrew-language daily Ma’ariv stated that the project, prepared by both the Ministry of the Interior and the Jerusalem Municipality, calls for the construction of 14,000 housing units for 40,000 Jewish Israelis on 3,000 dunums (three square kilometers) of land near the West Bank city of Bethlehem.
At around 11AM, Fuad Mahmoud Nayef Turkman, aged 17, was killed p030002the eyes of his brother, relatives and colleagues inside the schoolyard of the “Izz al-Din al-Qassam” school in Yabad, after an Israeli military jeep broke into the school shooting tear gas and then proceeded to deliberately run over one of the students, Fuad, and pulling him more than 25 meters out of the school before the eyes of the horrified pupils.
The existence of a nuclear-armed Israel shows the hypocrisy of Western powers that continue to show their “deepening concern” about the “potential pursuit of a nuclear weapon by Iran”. At a White House press conference on 18 May 2009, US President Barack Obama expressed “deepening concern” about “the potential pursuit of a nuclear weapon by Iran.” He continued: “Iran obtaining a nuclear weapon would not only be a threat to Israel and a threat to the United States, but would be profoundly destabilizing in the international community as a whole and could set off a nuclear arms race in the Middle East.”
In his speech, Obama “forgot” to mention the Israeli nuclear arsenal, which is considered by Middle East Muslim nations as a threat.
The Water Authority wants to begin the coming winter with the Kinneret no lower than it was last year at that time. The level of the lake is currently about 45 centimeters lower than it was at this time last year, but it is unlikely it will maintain this level; the Water Authority predicts that the level will fall to 214.87 meters below sea level, lower than the "black line" below which the lake's pumps cannot operate properly.
Webmaster's Commentary:
This is one of the reasons Israel is itching for any excuse to invade Lebanon again, and this time they will go all the way to the Litani River to capture the water for itself.
According to sources, the Nezavisimaya Gazeta newspaper that the persons who are suspected pirates who boarded the cargo ship "ArcticSea" In fact, members of the Israeli intelligence (Mossad) were trying to prevent the ship from the transfer of weapons to Iran.
The ship had disappeared more than three weeks of monitoring off the west coast of Africa and the Russian forces to free the crew of 15 sailors Russia on Monday, near the Cape Verde.
The media reported that Russia may have been the ship "ArcticSea" cruise missile X-55 illegally hidden among a load of sawdust.
Webmaster's Commentary:
This reminds me of the strange case of EgyptAir flight 880, which made one unscheduled stop to pick up an unknown cargo, and was carrying several top Egyptian Military officers among the passengers. Blamed on the suicide of the pilot, the aftermath of the crash was notable for the employment of a foreign salvage company experienced in the deep water recovery of radioactive cargoes.
Hardline pro-Israel groups in the US have been confronting President Barack Obama's demands for a halt to settlement expansion by accusing him of promoting the ethnic cleansing of Jews and jeopardising Israel's security.
Members of Congress allied with Israel and powerful lobby groups in Washington are also trying to shift the focus of administration policy from the Jewish settlements, arguing they are not an obstacle to peace, to demands for Arab governments to recognise Israel.
