Élections USA – Ron Paul
Government has no business trying to stop political candidates from deliberately lying about each other in campaign ads, a divided state Supreme Court ruled Thursday.
Early reports from watchthevote2012.com showed that Ron Paul had won by quite some margin and even broke it down into counties.
However the official result was a win for Mitt Romney by only a few hundred votes despite the fact that we don’t have 100% of precincts reporting their results.
More votes cast than voters.
If the government cannot prove the accuracy, honesty, and fairness of the elections by which they claim authority over the people, then the people are neither morally nor legally obligated to obey that government, pay its bills, or send their children to die in that government's wars.
So far, the overall magnitude of the circumstances has gone largely unnoticed by the people of the US in general, but that didn’t deter NV GOP Chairwoman, Amy Tarkanian from filing her resignation the very next morning on Sunday, as obvious and rampant, widespread election fraud is sweeping through the country in an establishment elite attempt to hide the real results, in favor of a pre-chosen candidate, despite the wishes of the American people.
In a letter dated Thursday, Wilson says the analysis found 953 ballots cast by voters listed as dead. In 71 percent of those cases, ballots were cast between two months and 76 months after the people died. That means they "voted" up to 6 1/3 years after their death.
The letter doesn't say in which elections the ballots were cast.
It doesn't matter which election it was detected in. If election fraud can happen in any election, it is happening in all of them. Even the dead voters can see that Iowa, New Hampshire, and now South Carolina are discredited with dead people voting, lost precinct ballots, and unverifiable electronic vote
stealers machines. It no longer matters which politician wins this election; nobody will accept them as a legitimate government. They cannot prove they actually won the election honestly and fairly, so no American is legally or morally obligated to obey that politician's orders, pay the bills for their reckless spending, or sacrifice our children's lives in wars of their making.
Nobody can actually prove who won Iowa. We are just supposed to take the word of the government and the media at face value, even though this is the same media and government that lied to us about Saddam's weapons of mass destruction, and who have insisted for going on ten years now that the economy is in a recovery.
So, how does it feel to be an occupied nation with puppet rulers and fake elections? Remember when the US and Israel "allowed" Gaza to have elections, trumpeting the triumph of Democracy? Of course, the trumpets went silent when the Gazan people elected leaders that the US and Israel did not approve of, and now the US and Israel pretend the elections never happened. Maybe now you understand that the reason the people in all those occupied nations with imposed puppet rulers are angry with the US, and it is not because of our freedoms. After all, we are no more free than those occupied people are. Free people select their own candidates. Picking from a pre-selected line up of puppets is not democratic; it is an illusion created to trick you into obedience to those who pull the strings.
You are an occupied nation ruled by puppets who serve a foreign nation, loot your wealth to feed that nation, enslave your children to fight that nation's wars of conquest, starve you, make you homeless, and call you envious when you complain. Amazing how much 21st Century America resembles Iran under the Shah, isn't it? Or Cuba under Batista. Or the Philippines under Marcos. Or Chile under Pinochet. Rampant corruption. Government sanctioned torture. Death squads. Rigged elections. Only the flag is different.
I'm not expecting Ron Paul to have great results in South Carolina -- not because he has lack of potential there, but because the true voting result will be impossible to be confident of.
All of South Carolina's votes will be taken and tallied by electronic software with NO paper records.
This to me is shocking. The reason is because I'm a computer scientist and programming engineer. I can tell you that for something as important as the validity of an election there MUST be a paper trail which can be scrutinized if need be.
Despite winning the event’s annual straw poll for the last two years running, Ron Paul has seemingly been excluded from this year’s CPAC conference, with Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich announced as keynote speakers but Paul appearing nowhere on the roster.
GOP! Redefining the phrase 'chicken shit!'
Ron Paul has invested days of campaigning and money for television ads ahead of caucuses in Minnesota, where he’s hoping he can eke out the first win of his Republican presidential campaign.
The Texas congressman spent the most time in Minnesota of any competitors ahead of Tuesday’s voting and planned to see it through with a caucus-night party outside Minneapolis.
It reflects Paul’s strategy of concentrating on caucus states where he can amass national convention delegates even if he doesn’t win.
"These are all just simple mistakes. The missing precincts in Iowa. Excess votes in Clark County. Simple mistakes. That's all. Honest! This is not election fraud. Really. And now for the weather!" -- ABCNNBBCBSFOX
Ever notice that when the votes are counted publicly Ron Paul wins, and everywhere the votes are counted in private Romney wins!
Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) was refused entry into a secured area of the Nashville Airport today after he reportedly rejected a TSA pat-down.
According to the Senator, he was “detained” by TSA and forced to miss his flight.
Mr. Paul cited the U.S. Constitution, specifically Article 1, Section 6 that clearly protects Senators and Representatives from arrest if they are on their way to, or returning from, a session of their respective House.
Today Rand Paul, speaking to the Daily Caller, described his detention by TSA agents yesterday in what many believe amounted to a clear cut violation of the Constitution.
Paul described his detention as a big ordeal that highlights the growing problems with the Transportation Security Agency and their police state actions.
For their part, the White House came out in defense of the TSA thugs who detained a sitting Senator as a possible terrorist, with Whit House spokesman James Carney attempting to change the narrative and reality of the story by claiming Rand wasn’t actually detained.
The White House is standing by the Transportation Security Administration in its standoff with Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) and his father, Republican presidential candidate Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas)
The elder Paul called the TSA a "police state" Monday after Sen. Paul was reportedly detained by TSA after he refused to take a pat-down from TSA officials at the Nashville International Airport.
White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said Monday that he didn't have any reaction to Paul's comment about "police state."
But Carney sided with the TSA saying, "I think it is absolutely essential that we take necessary actions to ensure that air travel is safe."

He wants to split up France's largest banks.
LONDON (MarketWatch) — François Hollande, the candidate for the Socialist Party in France who is leading the opinion polls ahead of the presidential election this spring, proposed on Jan. 22 sweeping reforms of the European and French financial systems to combat speculation and restore growth.
The United States is still flouting international law at Guantanamo Bay, despite President Barack Obama’s election pledge to shut the facility, the United Nations human rights chief Navi Pillay said on Monday.
“It is ten years since the U.S. Government opened the prison at Guantanamo, and now three years since 22 January 2009, when the President ordered its closure within twelve months. Yet the facility continues to exist and individuals remain arbitrarily detained – indefinitely – in clear breach of international law,” Pillay said in a statement.
It has been a decade now since Guantanamo Bay opened as an American military detention facility.
Today it stands, more visible and blunt than CIA black-sites and the Bagram prison, as a stabbing insult on Human Rights around the world.
The War on Terror has carried a load of disregard to civil liberties praised by this nation; illegal detention sites are just a single salient facet of the post-9/11 era...
Just another way to send a signal that Romney is the anointed candidate. I am not going to bother voting this year.
The question of what motivates Mr. Adelson’s singular generosity toward the former House speaker has emerged front and center in the campaign. People who know him say his affinity for Mr. Gingrich stems from a devotion to Israel as well as loyalty to a friend. A fervent Zionist who opposes any territorial compromise to make way for a Palestinian state, Mr. Adelson has long been enamored of Mr. Gingrich’s full-throated defense of Israel.
No government can serve two masters. A government that serves Israel cannot, does not, and will not serve the people of the United States. A friend of Israel is no friend of America. Time to get Israeli subversives out of the US political process. America needs leaders who will put America first, second, and third.
Newt Gingrich doesn’t just want to lay waste to his political enemies and a large part of the news media. The former House speaker and presidential hopeful wants to bomb a significant part of the planet, too.
Gingrich is on the record favoring American military intervention from North Korea to Lebanon. He recently threatened cyberwar with China and Russia. And on Monday, he called for an all-out assault to topple the Castro regime in Cuba. With such a wide range of targets, no wonder Gingrich has consistently said that the U.S. is in the middle of “World War III.” His plans for overthrowing the Iranian government? Just the beginning. In fact, if President Gingrich encounters any little green men while building his moon base (!), they had better pray to their astral maker for mercy.
Report: Gingrich-backer Adelson under criminal investigation for alleged bribery of foreign officials
American billionaire, close ally of Netanyahu, and main donor to Gingrich's campaign has been under federal investigation for his casino empire's alleged involvement in a corruption scandal in China, ABC reports.
Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum implied that Iran would drop a nuclear bomb in the United States if it had the capability.
At a campaign stop in Missouri, Santorum told a crowd that a nuclear Iran would pose a direct threat, even to Missouri. “Once they have a nuclear weapon, let me assure you, you will not be safe, even here in Missouri,” he said.
"Our country condemned it. My feeling is we should have kept our mouth shut," Santorum told about 200 people packed into a popular breakfast diner in Greenville.
And while Santorum stresses values issues, he has also argued for a tough stand on Iran's nuclear capability. Responding to a question in Greenville, he said he supports missile strikes to stop its nuclear program, if Iran refuses to submit to inspections.
"If these are people who are developing a weapon to be used to either destroy the state of Israel or to spread terror -- a reign of terror -- around the world, we shouldn't be sitting on the sidelines and letting it happen," he said. "They cannot have a nuclear weapon, because you, in Greenville, will not be safe."
“All the people that live in the West Bank are Israelis. They are not Palestinians. There is no Palestinian. This is Israeli land.”
"On occasion scientists working on the nuclear program in Iran turn up dead. I think that's a wonderful thing, candidly," said Rick Santorum at a recent campaign stop in Greenville, South Carolina.
But it isn't just dead Iranian scientists that gladden Santorum's heart.
He continued: "I think we should send a very clear message that if you are a scientist from Russia, North Korea, or from Iran and you are going to work on a nuclear program to develop a bomb for Iran, you are not safe."
The Islamophobic rant Santorum delivered at an event organized by a known bigot was no less extreme than anything contained in Ron Paul's newsletters. But don't wait for the American mainstream press to discuss Santorum's disturbing views on Muslims as anything other than proof of his "authenticity."
Speaking to a tea party group at Windham High School in New Hampshire on Thursday, the former Pennsylvania senator actually compared himself to the Christian savior.
A billionaire Wyoming investor has pledged to give up to a half-million dollars in matching money to an outside spending group that supports Rick Santorum for the GOP presidential nomination.
" When it comes to fighting Arabs and Muslims, I'm war ready.."
Okay Rick, if you feel that way about it, here's your rifle, and here's your parachute. We ran out of the desert camo for you but here is a left-over bright orange jumpsuit from Abu Ghraib for you to wear. We'll call Tehran and tell them you are on your way to kick their ass all by yourself. But you understand, given that IAEA has not found any evidence of a weapons program in Iran, and after that whopper you all told us about Iraq having nuclear weapons to get us to go along with attacking them, you will forgive us if we refuse to allow any more of our children to be blown to bloody bits in another war for Israel's benefit. No government can serve two masters, and right now, in the midst of the greatest economic crisis in our history, brought down on us by the biggest financial crime in history, America needs leaders who will put America first, and you just failed the test.
In this post-Citizens United era, every presidential candidate needs the backing of a super PAC, one of those independent political action committees that can accept unlimited contributions from corporations, unions, other groups and individuals. That even applies to President Barack Obama, who on Tuesday reversed himself and asked his financial backers to donate money to super PACs supporting his reelection campaign. Previously, the president had called unlimited spending by super PACs "a threat to our democracy." Now, says the president, to campaign without one would be to unilaterally disarm.
US elections: no matter who you vote for, money always wins
January 29, 2012, The Guardian (One of the UK's leading newspapers)
The truly decisive element [in Republican presidential debates] has been ... money. Lots of it. This is not new. But since a 2010 supreme court ruling allowing unlimited campaign contributions by corporations and unions, it has become particularly acute. Moreover, the contributors can remain anonymous. The organisations that are taking advantage of this new law are known as Super Pacs. In 2008 election spending doubled compared with 2004. This year industry analysts believe the money spent just on television ads is set to leap by almost 80% compared with four years ago. Money in American politics was already an elephant in the room. Now the supreme court has given it a laxative, taken away the shovel, and asked us to ignore both the sight and the stench. This is not a partisan point. Almost two-thirds of Americans believe the government should limit individual contributions – with a majority among Republicans, Democrats and independents. The trend towards oligarchy in the polity is already clear. There are 250 millionaires in Congress. As a whole, the polity's median net worth is $891,506, nine times the typical US household. The influence of money at this level corrupts an entire political culture and in no small part explains the depth of cynicism, alienation and mistrust Americans now have for their politicians.
47% of Congress Members Millionaires — a Status Shared by Only 1% of Americans
November 16, 2011, ABC News Blog
It’s no secret that many members of the U.S. House and Senate are millionaires — 47 percent of them — their salaries paid in part by the American taxpayers. The Center for Responsive Politics has crunched the numbers and released the results on its Open Secrets blog: “About 47 percent of Congress, or 249 current members are millionaires. In 2010, the estimated median net worth of a current U.S. senator stood at an average of $2.56 million. Despite the global economic meltdown in 2008 and the sluggish recovery that followed, that’s up about 7.6 percent from an estimated median net worth of $2.38 million in 2009 … and up 13 percent from a median net worth of $2.27 million in 2008. Fully 36 Senate Democrats, and 30 Senate Republicans reported an average net worth in excess of $1 million in 2010. The same was true for 110 House Republicans and 73 House Democrats.” “The vast majority of members of Congress are quite comfortable, financially, while many of their own constituents suffer from economic hardships,” said Sheila Krumholz at the Center For Responsive Politics. “Few Americans enjoy the same financial cushions maintained by most members of Congress — or the same access to market-altering information that could yield personal, financial gains.”
Forget global warming - it's Cycle 25 we need to worry about (and if NASA scientists are right the Thames will be freezing over again)
The supposed ‘consensus’ on man-made global warming is facing an inconvenient challenge after the release of new temperature data showing the planet has not warmed for the past 15 years.
The figures suggest that we could even be heading for a mini ice age to rival the 70-year temperature drop that saw frost fairs held on the Thames in the 17th Century.

New measurements show that the ice melt less than expected - in the Alps and the Himalayas, they are not shrunk since 2003.
IPCC was still pushing the shrinking glaciers story only last year, not having learned any lesson from their 2009 "Himalayagate" scandal in which the IPCC used a sample of just .0185% of the Himalayas to claim that all the glaciers would be gone by 2035, a claim they were later forced to retract.
New sat data shows Himalayan glaciers hardly melting at all.
New scientific analysis of satellite gravity measurements has shown that ice is melting from glaciers around the world much less quickly than had been thought. The new research is important as worldwide glacier melt is thought to be one of the main factors which could drive rising sea levels in future.
The new research is published in hefty boffinry mag Nature.

Only 19 percent of U.S. meteorologists saw human influences as the sole driver of climate change in a 2011 survey. And some, like the Weather Channel's founder John Coleman are vocal in their opposition.
"It is the greatest scam in history," wrote Coleman, one of the first meteorologists to publicly express doubts about climate change, on his blog in 2007. "I am amazed, appalled and highly offended by it. Global Warming; it is a SCAM."
Strange that NASA’s Hansen isn’t talking about this remarkable event. It would be easy to get the impression that he has an agenda which has nothing to do with science.
What an amazing scandal that the hockey team isn’t talking about this.

Extreme winter weather costs 160 lives in Europe
Temperatures in the town of Sevlievo, northern Bulgaria, plunged Wednesday morning to minus 31.4 C, a record low, which made the region one of the hardest hit by the severe cold spell in Eastern Europe.
Yet another cold record for this winter was set in Kiutaköngäs near Kuusamo, where the temperature plunged to -38.7 degrees Celsius on Wednesday morning.
The record temperature was registered around 8am. One hour later, the cold had eased to a mere -35 degrees.
Other parts of northern Finland are also experiencing record cold. In Naruska, Salla, the mercury dropped to -36.8 degrees Celsius in the early hours of Wednesday. It was not much warmer in Taivalkoski, chilled to a cool -36.6 degrees.
Europe froze as the continent experienced some of its coldest temperatures in decades on Wednesday, the death toll from the weather topped 80 and countries battled to clear snow from roads and railways.
In Ukraine on Wednesday the emergency ministry said that death toll had now reached 43 after 13 people died overnight. Most of the victims so far have been homeless people who froze to death on the streets, but at least seven have died in their homes. Another 720 people suffering from hypothermia or frostbite have required hospital treatment.
Poland's interior ministry said Wednesday morning that a further five people had been found dead in the previous 24 hours, bringing the death toll attributed to the freezing winter weather to 27.
Plummeting winter temperatures have claimed dozens of lives across Central and Eastern Europe as the region battles a big freeze that is expected to worsen over the next few days. At least 50 people have died, mainly in Ukraine and Poland, as an icy continental weather front from Siberia has dragged temperatures to as low as -27 degrees Celsius, and forecasters in Poland have said that thermometers could hit -30 later in the week. The cold weather has even travelled as far south as Bulgaria where temperatures in the capital Sofia fell to -20, the lowest in 50 years.

An economic nightmare is descending on Europe. With each passing month, the economic numbers across Europe get even worse. At this point it is becoming extremely difficult for anyone to deny that Europe is plunging into a full-blown economic depression. In fact, some parts of Europe are already there. In Spain the overall unemployment rate is over 22 percent, and in Greece one out of every five retail establishments has already been closed down. All over Europe, economic activity is rapidly slowing down, unemployment is skyrocketing and bad debts are unraveling. It isn’t even going to take a default by a nation such as Greece or a collapse of the euro to push Europe into an economic depression.

Falling homeownership — and prices — reflect the worst housing downturn since the Great Depression. And while there are signs that the housing industry's downturn may at least be nearing a bottom, the impact of the collapse will be evident for years to come, economists say.
No one in their right mind can talk about "economic recovery", looking at numbers like this.

(Reuters) - Organized crime has tightened its grip on the Italian economy during the economic crisis, making the Mafia the country's biggest "bank" and squeezing the life out of thousands of small firms, according to a report on Tuesday.
As Mr Boddy warns: "The very same corporate psychopaths, who probably caused the crisis by their self-seeking greed and avarice, are now advising governments on how to get out of the crisis. Further, if the corporate psychopaths theory of the global financial crisis is correct, then we are now far from the end of the crisis. Indeed, it is only the end of the beginning."
Outlook Over the years I've met my fair share of monsters – rogue individuals, for the most part. But as regulation in the UK and the US has loosened its restraints, the monsters have proliferated.
In a paper recently published in the Journal of Business Ethics entitled "The Corporate Psychopaths: Theory of the Global Financial Crisis", Clive R Boddy identifies these people as psychopaths.
"They are," he says, "simply the 1 per cent of people who have no conscience or empathy." And he argues: "Psychopaths, rising to key senior positions within modern financial corporations, where they are able to influence the moral climate of the whole organisation and yield considerable power, have largely caused the [banking] crisis'.
And Mr Boddy is not alone. In Jon Ronson's widely acclaimed book The Psychopath Test, Professor Robert Hare told the author: "I should have spent some time inside the Stock Exchange as well. Serial killer psychopaths ruin families. Corporate and political and religious psychopaths ruin economies. They ruin societies."
Cut to a pleasantly warm evening in Bahrain. My companion, a senior UK investment banker and I, are discussing the most successful banking types we know and what makes them tick. I argue that they often conform to the characteristics displayed by social psychopaths. To my surprise, my friend agrees.
He then makes an astonishing confession: "At one major investment bank for which I worked, we used psychometric testing to recruit social psychopaths because their characteristics exactly suited them to senior corporate finance roles."
Here was one of the biggest investment banks in the world seeking psychopaths as recruits.
Mr Ronson spoke to scores of psychologists about their understanding of the damage that psychopaths could do to society. None of those psychologists could have imagined, I'm sure, the existence of a bank that used the science of spotting them as a recruiting mechanism.
I've never met Dick Fuld, the former CEO of Lehman Brothers and the architect of its downfall, but I've seen him on video and it's terrifying. He snarled to Lehman staff that he wanted to "rip out their [his competitors] hearts and eat them before they died". So how did someone like Mr Fuld get to the top of Lehman? You don't need to see the video to conclude he was weird; you could take a little more time and read a 2,200-page report by Anton Valukas, the Chicago-based lawyer hired by a US court to investigate Lehman's failure. Mr Valukas revealed systemic chicanery within the bank; he described management failures and a destructive, internal culture of reckless risk-taking worthy of any psychopath.
So why wasn't Mr Fuld spotted and stopped? I've concluded it's the good old question of nature and nurture but with a new interpretation. As I see it, in its search for never-ending growth, the financial services sector has actively sought out monsters with natures like Mr Fuld and nurtured them with bonuses and praise.

(CNSNews.com) - The amount of money the federal government takes out of the U.S. economy in taxes will increase by more than 30 percent between 2012 and 2014, according to the Budget and Economic Outlook published today by the CBO.
At the same time, according to CBO, the economy will remain sluggish, partly because of higher taxes.
“In particular, between 2012 and 2014, revenues in CBO’s baseline shoot up by more than 30 percent,” said CBO, “mostly because of the recent or scheduled expirations of tax provisions, such as those that lower income tax rates and limit the reach of the alternative minimum tax (AMT), and the imposition of new taxes, fees, and penalties that are scheduled to go into effect.”
The Romanian government collapsed Monday after weeks of protests over biting cuts meant to keep outside funding flowing to the troubled nation.
Prime Minister Emil Boc said he and his Cabinet were resigning “to defuse political and social tension,” the Associated Press reported.
BUCHAREST, Romania (AP) -- Romania's government has collapsed following weeks of protests against austerity measures, the latest debt-stricken government in Europe to fall in the face of raising public anger over biting cuts. Emil Boc, who had been prime minister since 2008, said Monday he was resigning "to defuse political and social tension" and to make way for a new government. Thousands of Romanians took to the streets in January to protest salary cuts, higher taxes and the widespread perception that the government was not interested in the public's hardships in this nation of 22 million.

BBC "Reveals" After the Facts how British Special Forces Supervised and Spearheaded Libya Rebels to Victory
In a failed attempt to appear unbiased and objective, the BBC now “reveals”, almost a year after the information was relayed by several alternative media, that British Special Forces played a key role in steering and supervising Libya's "freedom fighters" to victory. Known and documented many of these so-called rebels were mercenaries under contract to NATO.
British efforts to help topple Colonel Gaddafi were not limited to air strikes. On the ground - and on the quiet - special forces soldiers were blending in with rebel fighters:
This is the previously untold BBC account of the crucial role part played by British and Allied Special Forces in leading the insurrection largely integrated by Al Qaedas affiliated operatives:
Diehard supporters of slain Libyan dictator Moamer Kadhafi seized control Monday of Bani Walid in a brazen attack on his one-time bastion that killed five people, officials told AFP.
The assault on a base of former rebels who helped oust Kadhafi was the first major offensive launched by his loyalists since the "liberation" of Libya on October 23, shortly after the fall of Bani Walid.
Hundreds of angry protesters have stormed the Libyan transitional government's headquarters in the eastern city of Benghazi, carting off computers, chairs, and desks while the country's interim leader was holed up in the building.
I guess the Libyan people don't like their new puppet ruler, or their new private central bank and its debt-based currency that replaced the gold dinar.
Exchanges of fire were heard and plumes of smoke seen coming from a district known as Tariq Al Shat in central Tripoli, eyewitnesses said.
A BBC reporter who drove past the area later said the fighting had ceased.
An interior ministry official told Reuters news agency the fighting was between militiamen from the city of Misrata, and a group from Zintan.
Libya's ramshackle government lost control of a former Gaddafi stronghold today after locals staged an armed uprising.
Forces loyal to ousted, and now dead, leader Muammar Gaddafi seized control of Bani Walid and then raised in celebration the deposed regime's green flag on hundreds of buildings.
Ah, more "progress" in Libya, I see! Apparently, the people of Libya are not impressed in the least with the government which has been imposed upon them, courtesy of the US and NATO.
A five and half minute RT video.
Fighting has broken out in Libya between supporters of former leader Muammar Gaddafi and forces loyal to the new government. The head of the National Transitional Council has warned that the country is on the verge of returning to a state of civil war. Our correspondent Maria Finoshina says the NTC doesn't control the situation in Libya.
A powerful sense of deja vu grips the men of Libya's national guard as they mass for battle in the freezing desert outside Bani Walid, the new frontline of a war most had thought was long over.
Last October, many of these same fighters battled their way into this desert town, one of the last pro-Gaddafi redoubts to hold out against the rebels.
Now they are back again after fighting this week resulted in the deaths of four soldiers and forced the closure of a small government garrison. Several dozen former Gaddafi administration officials arrested for war crimes in recent weeks were sprung from jail during the uprising.
Libya's "liberation" may well lead to an all-out civil war.
Apparently, courtesy of a catastrophic failure of imagination on the part of US and NATO leadership, this potential unintended consequence of such a "liberation" was something no one saw coming.
So what are NATO and the US going to do now, go back in and re-attack anti-government forces?!?
Stephen Lendman, Contributing Writer
NATO's alleged "responsibility to protect" was subterfuge. Months of terror bombings left Libya a charnel house.
Africa's most developed country was ravaged. Tens of thousands were killed, multiples more injured, and millions left on their own to sink or swim.
When is war not war?
NTC Unable to Keep 'Allies' in Line
It is a story told with alarming regularity in Libya. Two rival militias, both nominally allies of the National Transitional Council (NTC) engage in an intense gunbattle. When the guns finally fall silent and one of the factions has taken a base belong to the other, they proceed to take everything that isn’t nailed down.
Even those that weren’t directly involved in the battle rush in and start grabbing loot. Cars are stolen, and more battles break out when rival factions argue over who gets to take what. Mass looting may be a viable strategy in a video game, but it is really starting to wear thin among Libya’s public.
The Libyan Transitional National Council (TNC) regime installed by the US-NATO intervention in Libya last year is responsible for ongoing atrocities, particularly against black-skinned Libyans, detainees and other alleged supporters of the previous Gaddafi government.
The reprisals against the Tawerghan population are only the latest revelations of war crimes committed by the US and NATO proxy forces. Amnesty International and Doctors Without Borders have recently published statements protesting against the systematic abuse and torture of prisoners in detention centers controlled by the TNC and tribes.
More "progress" in Libya, I see.
While Charles Ray - the US envoy here [Zimbabwe] - portrays himself as the face of the free world, a champion of human rights and democracy, and has been vociferous about his country's role in the Libyan invasion, it turns out that just like Vietnam and other illegal wars before it, Libya is turning into a major embarrassment for Uncle Sam.
A report released last week by human rights groups in the Middle East presents extensive evidence of war crimes carried out in Libya by the United States, NATO and their proxy "rebel" forces during last year's invasion, that culminated in the murder of Colonel Muammar Gaddafi.
The "Report of the Independent Civil Society fact-finding Mission to Libya" presents findings of an investigation carried out last November by the Arab Organisation for Human Rights, together with the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights and the International Legal Assistance Consortium.
Based on interviews with victims of war crimes as well as with witnesses and Libyan officials in Tripoli, Zawiya, Sibrata, Khoms, Zliten, Misrata, Tawergha and Sirte, the report calls for the investigation of evidence that NATO targeted civilian sites, causing many deaths and injuries.
Civilian facilities targeted by NATO bombs and missiles included schools, government buildings, at least one food warehouse, and private homes.
The report also presents evidence of systematic murder, torture, expulsion and abuse of suspected Gaddafi loyalists by the NATO-backed "rebel" forces of the National Transitional Council. It describes the forced expulsion of the mostly black-skinned inhabitants of Tawergha and the ongoing persecution of sub-Saharan migrant workers by forces allied to the NTC and its transitional government.
The investigators report savage and repeated beatings of prisoners held without trial or charges, the summary execution of pro-Gaddafi fighters, and witness reports of "indiscriminate and retaliatory murders, including the ‘slaughter' (i.e., throat slitting) of former combatants."
The report exposes the human rights and democratic pretexts employed by the US, France, Britain and their NATO accomplices to carry out a colonial-style war of conquest. It makes clear that UN Security Council Resolution 1973, imposing a "no-fly zone" and arms embargo on Libya supposedly to protect civilians from repressive actions by Muammar Gaddafi, was in fact used to carry out a ruthless air war waged in co-ordination with "rebel" forces on the ground.
The report suggests that soon after the outbreak of anti-Gaddafi protests in Benghazi and other cities, opposition forces were receiving training from Western armed forces as well as weapons from NATO powers and allied Arab states. Opposition to Gaddafi that erupted last February following the fall of Mubarak in Egypt was rapidly taken into hand by the US, France, Britain and their agents within Libya to launch a pro-imperialist invasion.
As the report states: "From first-hand information available to the Mission, and secondary sources, it appears that NATO participated in what could be classified as offensive actions undertaken by the opposition forces, including, for example, attacks on towns and cities held by Gaddafi forces.
Equally, the choice of certain targets, such as a regional food warehouse, raises prima facie questions regarding the role of such attacks with respect to the protection of civilians."
The report gives only the palest picture of a brutal onslaught whose purpose was to turn the clock back 43 years to the conditions that prevailed under the US-UK stooge King Idris, who turned the country's oil resources over to American and British conglomerates and allowed the two powers to maintain large military bases on Libyan soil. The mass destruction and killing, which culminated in the levelling of Sirte and lynching of Gaddafi, make the UN-sanctioned claims of a war for "human rights" and the "protection of civilians" not only absurd, but obscene.
The rape of Libya was the Anglo-Saxons response to the revolutionary uprisings that ousted long-time pro-Western regimes in Tunisia and Egypt, two countries that border Libya. The aim of the invasion was to impose complete control on the country's oil resources, divert and suppress the growth of working class struggles throughout North Africa and the Middle East, and deal a blow to China and Russia, which had established close economic relations with the Gaddafi regime.
The war destroyed Libya. The NTC - an unstable coalition of ex-Gaddafi regime officials, Islamists, including some with links to Al Qaeda, and Western intelligence assets - itself estimates that the invasion claimed 50,000 lives and injured another 50,000. Rising infighting between the NTC's factions is opening the door to full-scale civil war between rival clan-based and regional militias.
Just this weekend, amid warnings from NTC Chairman Mustafa Abdel Jalil of looming civil war, a crowd demanding the resignation of the transitional government forced its way into the NTC's headquarters in Benghazi. Abdel Hafiz Ghoga, the vice president of the NTC, promptly resigned.
The report on US-NATO war crimes is also a further indictment of the assortment of "left" parties, intellectuals and academics who parroted the human rights pretexts of Washington and NATO and thus gave open or backhanded support to the invasion of Libya.
And still, the so-called International Criminal Court is deafeningly silent.
"But hey; we got the oil flowing in the 'right direction', didn't we?!?" - Official White House Souse.
Russia has accused the United States and NATO of large-scale violations of human rights during the military operation in Libya, including the deliberate murder of its leader Muammar Gaddafi and the killing of hundreds of civilians.
The NATO forces “made the overthrow and murder of the Colonel their main goal,” said the Russian Foreign Ministry in its first report on the state of human rights in the world.
Citing unnamed sources, the report said the order to liquidate Qadhafi was given to U.S., French and British commandos. The Russian Foreign Ministry details numerous instances of mass killings of hundreds of civilians and destruction of infrastructure in NATO bombing raids in Libya.
Analyst suggests hike indicate 'boots on ground' soon
New questions are being raised about the Obama administration's plans for U.S. troops on the ground in Africa, where Libya and Ivory Coast are in turmoil and other nations are unstable, as documentation reveals federal officials are planning massive increases in U.S. fuel purchases for military operations there.
Information obtained by WND reveals the most recent fuel procurement, #SP0600-10-R-0242, includes nearly 29 million U.S. gallons of jet fuel, up from only 11.6 million in 2007; plus 13.9 million U.S. gallons diesel fuel, up from 8.2 million; 154,000 gallons premium unleaded gasoline, up from 59,000; and about 200,000 gallons aviation gasoline. There are no earlier figures are available for that category.
Department of Defense contracting documents dating back to 2004 were examined, and the escalation in fuel planning was evident.
In late 2004, for instance, the Defense Logistics Agency identified a three-year need for 1.7 million U.S. gallons of diesel, 1.3 million gallons of jet fuel and just under 16,000 gallons of premium unleaded gasoline, in #SP0600-05-R-0009.
That particular acquisition was destined for use at Camp Lemonnier in Djibouti, a coastal east African nation positioned between Somalia and Eritrea and which also borders on the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.
As that specific contract approached its end, DLA in 2007 issued a new solicitation, #SP0600-07-R-0216, for fuel for Camp Lemonier – a solicitation representing the beginning of an exponential increase in U.S. military fuel consumption in the region.
The new contract called for more than quadruple the previous amount of diesel fuel to 8.2 million gallons, an eightfold increase in jet fuel to 11.6 million gallons and more than triple the previous total for premium unleaded gasoline to 59,000 gallons.
That procurement, whose "ordering period" was February 2008 through January 2011, came several months before the Bush administration's official unveiling of the newly created U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM), whose sphere of responsibility would include all of Africa excepting Egypt.
The US plans to send $25m worth of non-lethal equipment to the rebel opposition in eastern Libya, in a move likely to further entangle the west in the two-month-old civil war.
The proposal to send surplus Pentagon equipment, including vehicles, medical supplies, protective vests, binoculars and radios, follows Italy's decision to join Britain and France in sending military advisers to the Libyan opposition and a French pledge to intensify air strikes.
The Libyan government has warned that such moves will further prolong the conflict and "encourage the other side to be more defiant".
NATO's war on Libya is to drive the Chinese out of North Africa according to Paul Craig Roberts (ex Reagan official). Pakistan is already desperate to leave US influence, after Raymond Davis and more drones. Pakistan can offer China a land route to Iran and the Gulf - to secure its energy needs. Once Pakistan gives up US influence - Afghanistan is truly lost.
The bloodiest 24 hours yet: '18 premature babies die in Homs hospital after power cut caused by fifth day of shelling by Assad troops'
Babies did survive without incubators in the past, or none of us would be here! So this sounds like another variation on the infamous "stolen incubators and dead babies" hoax staged by PR firm Hill & Knowlton to anger people into supporting the invasion of Iraq.
The US closed its Syrian embassy Monday and Britain recalled its ambassador to Damascus in a dramatic escalation of Western pressure on President Bashar Assad to give up power, just days after diplomatic efforts at the United Nations to end the crisis collapsed.
The US evacuated all its diplomats from the country as Syrian forces intensified a shelling assault on the restive city of Homs. The offensive began Saturday, the same day Syria's allies in Russia and China vetoed a Western- and Arab-backed resolution aimed at trying to end the brutal crackdown on dissent.
The United States closed its embassy in Syria and pulled out remaining staff on Monday over serious security concerns as President Bashar al-Assad’s regime intensified its bloody crackdown.
US President Barack Obama stressed it was important to resolve the ongoing conflict diplomatically, framing it as very different from the situation in Libya, where Western military intervention helped oust Moamer Kadhafi.
So, the US has closed its embassy in Syria; such an act is normally a prelude to some kind of major military attack happening against whatever country out of which we've pulled our diplomatic staff, no matter how often the words "diplomatic solution" are used.
The United Nations Security Council has just voted on a draft resolution concerning the ongoing violence in Syria.
Of the voting members, Russia and China were the only ones to vote against the draft, but as permanent members of the UNSC they both hold veto power, and the resolution has not been passed as a result.
The news follows days of heated political debates in the UNSC, with many members supporting a Western-backed draft calling for foreign nations to put an end to what some called the “Syrian killing machine.”
Russia and China were the only permanent Security Council members opposing the draft, reminding others that it was not their place to intervene in another country's domestic affairs.

Fukushima Diaries - 4.2 Shallow Quake directly under Fukushima Nuclear Plant - Quake not showing on USGS map. Fukushima Truth and Arnie Gundersen's latest video - Japan dumping Waste in Tokyo Bay
Fukushima Diaries has information that there was a 4.2 shallow quake directly under the Fukushima Nuclear Power plant, but USGS site does not have it on it.
Since the USGS site does not have it, I have to wonder if it was an earthquake or something else, since it was directly under Fukushima?
The TEPCO camera is back online from what I can tell. There is a very bright light coming from the right of Reactor 4. Reactor 4 has been in a critical stage the last couple of days since January 1st. It has been losing water at an unprecedented amount.
The water level is decreased naturally because of water evaporation, as it used to take 3 hours to be decreased by 50 mm (17mm/h), but from 2PM to 5PM today it was decreased by 240 mm within 3 hours.(80 mm/h).
After the earthquake, it turned out that the fallout amount in Fukushima from 1/2/2012~1/3/2012 spiked up to be 558.1 Bq/m2 (Cs-134 and 137).The total fallout of Fukushima of November was only 347.7 Bq/m2 for 30 days, which is less than the fallout of the 2 days of 1/2 and 1/3.
Also, the total fallout of Tokyo of April was 570 Bq/m2 for 30 days.
After the earthquake, it turned out that the fallout amount in Fukushima from 1/2/2012~1/3/2012 spiked up to be 558.1 Bq/m2 (Cs-134 and 137).
Breaking News: After the quake of 1/1, Fukushima had fallout more than 30 days of Nov, Fukushima Diary, January 5, 2012:
- After the earthquake, it turned out that the fallout amount in Fukushima from Jan. 2 – Jan. 3 spiked up to be 558.1 Bq/m2 (Cs-134 and 137)
- The total fallout of Fukushima of November was only 347.7 Bq/m2 for 30 days
Fukushima - Very Dire- Situation can affect the World. No water in Reactor 4 - Rods were boiling 1/1/12. Reactor 4 still not holding water. Another quake at Fukushima 1/8/12 not on USGS. TEPCO cam - not real?
Fukushima Diary has some dire information today. Remember Reactor 4 is the spent fuel reactor/containment area. There thousands of rods in reactor 4.
I wrote about Fukushima 3 days ago.
I have the information that the amount of radiation released since the first of January was more in the 5 days then all of the month of November in that post.
Now, it is being revealed there was/is no water in Reactor 4 and it was/is boiling. An earthquake New Years Day ruptured pipes there it seems. Since then there have been more quakes at Fukushima that USGS does not acknowledge.
leaked information from an actual Fukushima worker: The pool was boiling without water.

Information from an actual Fukushima worker [...] according to her post
- After the earthquake of 1/1/2012, the pipe of spent fuel pool for reactor 4 was broken
- Pool completely lost its water
- Pool was boiling without water

known. Believe it or not, you will only regret. Wear a mask at least.
But the fallout of this plant, write and solve it heard the information from the workers.

NRC March Email: Spent Fuel Pool No. 4 was likely dry enough to lead to catastrophic explosion — Structural damage to pool area known to exist — Pool leakage likely
March 29th, 2011 – Status of 3 Units and 4 pools – Realistic Scenarios, Enformable, Dec. 15, 2011:
From: Brown, Frederick
Sent: Tuesday, March 29, 2011 10:56 PM
SFP 4: 1331 bundles. Full core offload about 120 days ago. No checker boarding of hotter fuel. Structural damage to pool area is known to exist, and structure may not support a full pool weight load. Pool leakage likely, requiring addition of water periodically. Pool was likely dry enough to have cladding/water reaction which produced enough hydrogen to lead to catastrophic explosion that destroyed secondary containment.
Fukushima Worst-Case: Beyond 250km could be evacuation zone if fuel in SFP No. 4 melts — Covering pool, reactors with sand mixture was considered as last resort
Government envisioned Tokyo evacuation in worst-case scenario, AJW by The Asahi Shimbun, Jan. 7, 2012:
[...] In a worst-case scenario, the central government would have requested the evacuation of Tokyo and everyone within a 250-kilometer radius of the damaged Fukushima No. 1 nuclear power plant.
Goshi Hosono, minister in charge of the nuclear disaster [...] said the government had not disclosed the report, which had been submitted on March 25, out of concern over public reaction.
“We had refrained from publicizing it because we were afraid that it could cause the public to grow excessively worried,” he said. [...]
· Melting of 1,535 fuel assemblies, an equivalent of fuel used for two reactors, kept in a spent fuel storage pool at the No. 4 reactor
· If another hydrogen explosion took place at the No. 1 reactor, workers would be forced to flee and suspend recovery operations
· Resulting in an enormous amount of radioactive material released from the pool in two weeks
High radiation levels could have extended beyond the 250-km radius, and people in those areas would have also been advised to relocate
Less Worse Worst-Case Scenario
If the release of cesium was limited to an equivalent of one reactor, the mandatory evacuation zone would have been a radius of 110 km and recommended evacuation a radius of 200 km
It would have taken several decades for radiation levels to decrease naturally in the mandatory and voluntary evacuation zones
Worst-Cast Last Resort
Blocking radiation by covering the damaged reactors and the pool with 1,100 tons of materials mixed with sand and water each was considered a last resort to contain the crisis
Plutonium out of the Fukushima reactors did indeed travel far and wide....What's more, the authors of the paper seem to think that plutonium came from the spent fuel.

Taking a part of the concrete slag sample. Put it into the lead case (Chiyoda technol) and take it to a lab. I don’t know if it’s because they gave sea water to cool down or because it’s brackish area, if natrium (sodium salt) of sea water made a chemical reaction with calcium carbonate in the concrete to become diuranate natrium (sodium diuranate) or not, it looks yellow as yellow cake.
Probably the iron part of the core is uranium pellet unreacted – not sure yet because it’s still before the analysis.
It’s beyond the max reading of 500X100 CPM. These yellow concrete slags come out from under the building one after one. It means that the container vessel is melting like honeycomb at least – doesn’t it? Otherwise why would metal uranium comes out of there ?
2011/12/28 (Wed) 04:37 [Translation]
Made up my mind to take out the slags from the shelter to take pictures of them.
Wore protective clothing. When it’s taken out, it was over 400 ℃ but now it’s cooled down to 100 ℃.
Can you see this big metal crystal (extremely radioactive) and the oxidized concrete looking like yellow cake? Can you believe it is out of the container vessel. It’s over 500 mSv/h, my geiger counter went over the limit.
Was scared so put it back to the shelter soon as I took a couple of the pictures.

The actual reactors, the steel containment of the reactors is now melting into the groundwater and into the soil.
There’s major cities of 500,000 people that are being completely irradiated. They’re not telling people the truth and the kids are really angry and frustrated and the gov’t is denying it [...]
If it f—- up even this much… If it f—- up even a tiny bit [...]
In the Ukraine an area the size of France is still completely irradiated and you’re just like wow what the f—? How is this even a f—— option.
How is this a possibility that you could have one mistake. Even a natural disaster, or tsunami [Note: It now appears the earthquake was a contributing factor in the meltdowns (SOURCE)…]
An online presentation shows irradiated water moving through pacific. It’s f—— terrifying.
It’s beyond terrifying and what’s happening in Japan now, it just shows you what can they do… how are they going to evacuate a million people? Where are they going to evacuate them too?
You can be a two hour drive [Tokyo] from a nuclear disaster like that? That doesn’t seem safe.
Tokyo… it feels kind of like a ghost town, a lot of people have left, its gone beyond future, now its like post-future if that’s the future then we should drink a lot today, because its not going to be pleasant.
I’m going there for the first time in February for the UFC… going to Tokyo … I’m [terrified?]

The Municipal government [in Kashiwa] suspended the operation of one of its main incinerators again on Jan. 5 as a storage facility at the waste disposal factory was filled up with incinerated ash contaminated with radioactive substances emitted from the crippled Fukushima No. 1 Nuclear Power Plant
- The operation of the city’s Nambu (south) Clean Center had previously been suspended for about two months from last September
- [Now] storing about 200 metric tons (about 1,049 waste drums) of incinerated ash whose radiation levels are higher than the national limit of 8,000 becquerels per kilogram for landfill
- There is also about 30 tons of incinerated ash left in the incinerator
- Radiation levels in the city are higher than those in surrounding areas, and therefore up to 70,800 becquerels of radioactive cesium per kilogram — higher than the national limit — have been detected
- Municipalities around the city of Kashiwa are also storing massive quantities of incinerated ash contaminated with radiation
- Chiba Prefectural Government proposed to its neighboring cities of Abiko and Inzai that they store incinerated ash temporarily

Bed Bath and Beyond recalls radioactive tissue holders after they set off police radiation monitors aboard a delivery truck
Bed Bath and Beyond Inc is recalling tissue holders because one of its materials emits low levels of radiation, the company said on Friday.
The California Department of Public Health said Friday the boxes called 'Dual Ridge Metal Boutique tissue boxes' with the model number DR9M, contain radioactive cobalt-60.
According to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRD), there is no health threat from the item, the company said in a statement.
Cobalt 60 does not exist in nature, It is a synthetic isotope created by neutron activation. Cobalt 60 emits beta particles and due to the short half-life of about 5 years, is a powerful source! Cobalt 60 is used to sterilize medical equipment and for food irradiation.

Rich, please review and comment, for distribution to our branch.
In a briefing with Joe Giitter that just ended, we were informed that the situation is now much worse in Japan. The walls of the Unit 4 spent fuel pool have collapsed, and there is no water in there. There were a large number of fuel assemblies in the pool, and the fuel may no longer be intact. The radiation levels are increasing so much that it may prove difficult to work on the other 5 reactors at the site, which could lead to more fuel damage and releases. [...]

WATCH: 10-fold spike in Fukushima radioactivity discussed at Tepco press conference — I suppose it was blown up by wind says spokesman
January 6, 2012 Tepco Press Conference:
Reporter: According to the reading of environmental radioactivity levels as of Jan. 4, 2012, the amounts of cesium-134 and cesium-137 have increased by nearly 10 times from Dec. 27, 2011 to January 2, 2012. I suppose that something went wrong and that led to this increase. What do you think caused this increase?
Tepco Spokesman Junichi Matsumoto: [...] No trouble has occurred during that period. So I suppose that the radioactive materials were blown up by something like wind and that led to that increase.
I really feel the need to keep Fukushima in the spot light. I feel people need to understand Fukushima is still a major problem.
Today Fukushima Diary
has information about the quakes that are happening there. Many have posted they are not normal quakes but the feel more like explosions/bombs going off underground.
Fukushima citizens tweet that recent series of the earthquake feel different from usual ones.
I think everyone has noticed it if they live in Fukushima since 311, and paid attention to earthquakes. Suddenly, the way of shaking has changed, isn’t it ? feels like something is exploding underground, like a bomb.
Defective Meter? Temperature in Reactor 2 doubles, rises above 100ºC — Tepco assuming low possibility of re-criticality

[...] Tepco still asserts it’s in the state of cold shutdown. They assert it’s not because the fuel has moved or recriticality happened, only because the gauge was broken.

On Jan. 13, an LDP member of the Upper House of the Japanese Diet — Satsuki Katayama — wrote that the gov’t may be concealing a recent hydrogen explosion at Reactor No. 4.
Translation by EX-SKF:
Just then, there was a communication from the ex-council member of Minami Soma City to the mayor [of Soma City] that there was some kind of explosion at Fukushima I Nuclear Power Plant on January 9 (probably at Reactor 4 building) and the government is hiding it. I don’t know whether it’s true or not, but if it is, it is probably a hydrogen explosion, not a nuclear explosion.
Katayama says she was speaking with Hidekiyo Tachiya, mayor of Soma City (north of Minami Soma City) when the mayor related the “rumor” to her. But
Translation by Fukushima Diary:
Now I heard that the city mayor of Minamisoma got the phone call from a former city councilor to tell, on 1/9/2012, at Fukushima plant, (Probably at reactor 4) some kind of explosion happened, and the government is concealing it. I’m not quite sure if it’s true or not, but it probably is not a nuclear explosion but a hydrogen explosion. (Even by a hydrogen explosion, radiation is scattered in a huge scale. I wondered why the person can stay that cool in such a situation. Probably he has already seen hell, he might be used to dealing with the fear and the stress by living in the 50km area.)

Canadian Official: Iodine-131 in rainwater was above recommended level for drinking water during March — “It should not exceed the guideline” — Gov’t failed to disclose findings
Radioactive iodine in rainwater: Public was in the dark, Montreal Gazette by Alex Roslin, January 14, 2012:
After the Fukushima nuclear accident, Canadian health officials assured a nervous public that virtually no radioactive fallout had drifted to Canada.
But last March, a Health Canada monitoring station in Calgary detected an average of 8.18 becquerels per litre of radioactive iodine (an isotope released by the nuclear accident) in rainwater, the data shows.
The level easily exceeded the Canadian guideline of six becquerels of iodine per litre for drinking water, acknowledged Eric Pellerin, chief of Health Canada’s radiation-surveillance division.
“It’s above the recommended level (for drinking water),” he said in an interview. “At any time you sample it, it should not exceed the guideline.”
Canadian authorities didn’t disclose the high radiation reading at the time.
Where’s the data?
· The data still isn’t posted on Health Canada’s web page devoted to the impacts of Fukushima.
· Pellerin said he doesn’t know why Health Canada didn’t make the data public. “I can’t answer that. The communication aspect could be improved.”
How’s the Data?
· Some of Health Canada’s numbers are much lower than those reported by other radiation researchers. Simon Fraser University nuclear chemist Krzysztof Starosta found iodine levels in rainwater in Burnaby, B.C., spiked to 13 becquerels per litre in March – many times higher than the levels Health Canada detected in nearby Vancouver [March in Vancouver averaged only 0.69 becquerels per litre of I-131 in rainwater for the gov't, just 1/20th Starosta's levels].
· Rain was tested only at the end of each month, [the 8-day half-life of I-131 may help explain the significantly lower numbers, as much of it had decayed] after a network of monitoring stations sent samples to Ottawa. This meant the radiation spikes last March were only discovered in early April, after rainwater samples were sent to Ottawa for testing – too late to alert the public, including those who collect rain for drinking and gardening.

Journalist: Hospital did no treatment on dead Tepco worker, simply called police — Officers took body away for autopsy
Autopsy Planned (or Done) for the Worker Who Died at Fukushima I Nuke Plant?, EX-SKF, Jan, 12, 2012:
(UPDATE from Ryuichi Kino: The police took the body right after the ambulance arrived at the hospital. So the worker had been dead. He’s asking how TEPCO (who had the personnel at the hospital) considered the whole situation.) [...]
According to the partial transcript of the TEPCO press conference on January 12, 2012 (independent journalist Ryuichi Kino asking TEPCO’s Matsumoto):
· The worker was “treated” on-site for 2 hours by the TEPCO doctor, which Kino said was rather unusual in the case of cardiopulmonary arrest.
· When the worker arrived at the hospital in an ambulance, the hospital did no treatment and simply called the police, according to Kino, and TEPCO’s Matsumoto didn’t deny it. (So the worker was dead already.)
Then the hilarity ensued as the following:
Kino: “The hospital called the police to conduct an autopsy. Did TEPCO know about it or was involved in the decision?”
Matsumoto: “TEPCO had a personnel waiting at the hospital, but no we weren’t involved in the decision to do the autopsy.”
Kino: “TEPCO personnel was at the hospital? So you knew that the police would conduct autopsy?”
Matsumoto: “Well, not directly, but from a subcontractor who was informed by the police that night.”
Kino: “So you did know the worker was dead on January 9 but kept telling us he was receiving treatment, for two days?“

Brief large spike in local background radiation. What caused it?, Sunshine Coast Computer Club by Peter Daley, Jan. 9, 2012:
- 8th January 2012
- Geiger Counter Alarm starting going off at around 6.30 pm
- Raised radiation levels lasted until around 9.45 pm
- Sunshine Coast, Australia [Queensland]
- Wind direction was NNE at 22degrees
Equipment & Setup
- Gammascout Geiger Counter
- Alert alarm was set to go off at .50 uS/Hr, and to record data every 10 minutes
- Visual observations showed actual peaks reaching .80 uS/Hr
- Even though this chart of the downloaded 10 minute interval recorded data is not showing the true peaks that occurred, it is still dramatic
- If the maximum visual observed peak had been recorded, the peak on this chart would be over twice as high!
- The beginning of the chart would be considered average background for our area.
- Background radiation levels here, with 4 years of recorded data to refer to, has averaged around .10 uS/Hr.
- The background radiation level was peaking 8 times above average during this event!
- Either some of the radioactive fall out from Fukushima has briefly reached us, or there is some seismic activity N/NE of our location in the Pacific Ocean which has released a spike in radon gas. Just a theory.
- I was shocked to hear the Geiger alarm going off
- The dramatic drop in background reading just before the spike is also interesting. Anyone have any ideas?
- I promised members that I would post any unusual radiation data, I just didn’t expect to be doing this so soon

Problems continue to emerge at troubled Ft. Calhoun: Now worse than worst grade a reactor can have and still operate — Plus cause of fire that knocked out spent fuel pool cooling this summer remains unknown
Anthony’s reply to Bmurr reminded me that this was never posted…
Regulators bear down on OPPD nuke plant, Omaha World-Herald, Dec 14, 2011 (Emphasis Added):
At the troubled Fort Calhoun Nuclear Station
· Problems continue to emerge
· Federal regulators again are increasing their level of oversight
· [NRC] is creating a special panel of inspectors to oversee improvements and repairs at the reactor
· What essentially was a planned two-month outage is heading toward its ninth month as a result of this summer’s flooding
· Water surrounded OPPD’s buildings at Fort Calhoun, but the fuel was in no danger, officials have said.
· Even before Tuesday’s decision, Fort Calhoun had the worst grade a reactor can have and still operate
· Because of the additional problems that surfaced this summer, the NRC is moving Fort Calhoun into a different type of oversight
· Other reactors have been placed in this outside-the-norm review process
· Some have taken years to get back on line
· NRC [...] will not estimate a time for the plant to resume operations
· The NRC now controls when the plant starts
· The June fire’s cause isn’t fully known, [an NRC spokeswoman] said
· The general consensus has been that it was unrelated to the flooding
The World-Herald fails to note why the fire was of such importance… fortunately the AP did
Two of the new violations are related to a small fire at Fort Calhoun that briefly knocked out the cooling system for used fuel in June.

Japanese, Canadian and American Officials Have “Betrayed” their Citizens By Hiding Radiation … “Akin to Murder”
In interviews and public statements, some current and former government officials have admitted that Japanese authorities engaged in a pattern of withholding damaging information and denying facts of the nuclear disaster — in order, some of them said, to limit the size of costly and disruptive evacuations in land-scarce Japan and to avoid public questioning of the politically powerful nuclear industry.
So the failure of the American, Canadian and other governments to test for and share results is making it difficult to hold an open scientific debate about what is happening.
Indeed, governments have been covering up nuclear meltdowns for 50 years to protect the nuclear power industry … to make sure that the elites get even richer.
Nuclear power can be safe, if it is handled correctly, and thorium cycle reactors are used.
If we had used those trillions of dollars used to bail out Wall Street to create that kind of nuclear power instead, we would be far less dependent on petroleum products for US energy production.
An Activist Post Special Report
Thyroid cancer cases have more than doubled since 1997 in the United States, while deadly industrial practices that contaminate groundwater with radiation and other carcinogens are also rising.
New information released by the U.S. National Cancer Institute (NCI) estimates that 56,460 people will develop thyroid cancer in 2012 and 1,780 will die from it.
That’s up from 16,000 thyroid cancer cases in 1997 – a whopping 253% increase in fifteen years, while the US population went up only 18%...
How much radiation do these tissue holders emit, exactly? Nuclear Regulatory Commission spokesman David McIntyre said, on the record, that standing near one of these tissue holders for 30 minutes a day would expose you to the equivalent of "a couple of chest X-Rays" each year. The Illinois Emergency Management Agency went even further, issuing a release stating that every 10 hours spent near the product would expose you to the equivalent of one chest X-Ray (http://beaconnews.suntimes.com/news/9990656-418/no-immediate-threat-of-lo...).
In case you were wondering, a chest X-Ray is not a small dose of radiation.
After the world’s worst nuclear accident in 25 years, authorities in Canada said people living here were safe and faced no health risks from the fallout from Fukushima.
They said most of the radiation from the crippled Japanese nuclear power plant would fall into the ocean, where it would be diluted and not pose any danger.
Dr. Dale Dewar wasn’t convinced. Dewar, a family physician in Wynyard, Sask., doesn’t eat a lot of seafood herself, but when her grandchildren come to visit, she carefully checks seafood labels.
She wants to make sure she isn’t serving them anything that might come from the western Pacific Ocean.

[...] That gets me to the issue of BIER, Biological Effects of Ionizing Radiation. [...]
Now in Japan, the Japanese government is allowing people to go back into these radiation zones, when the radiation exposure is 2 rem. What that means is that they are willing to say that your chances of getting cancer are 1 in 500 if you go back into these areas that are presently off limits, and the exposure levels are 2 rem or 20 milisieverts in a year.
But it is worse than that. The number that we are using in the BIER Report is for the entire population, old people and young. And old people are going to die of something else before a cancer gets to them, whereas young people have rapidly dividing cells and they live a longer time, so they are more likely to get cancer. So if you go into the BIER Report and you look at Table 12-D, you will see that young women have a 5 times that number chance of getting cancer than the population as a whole. So young girls in the Fukushima Prefecture are going to get 5 times the exposure they would get from 2 rem. That means that about one in 100 young girls is going to get cancer as a result of the exposure in Fukushima Prefecture. And that is for every year they are in that radiation zone [at 20 milliSv/y]. If you are in there for 5 years, it is 5 out of 100 young girls will get cancer.
Now the BIER Report only addresses cancer, and of course, there are other effects of radiation that are not included in BIER, so it is actually worse than that.
Two more items: The first is that the BIER Report does not address hot particles. Now we have been over that extensively on the site, and you will see that imbibing it (a kid gets radioactive cesium on their hands and they swallow it, or breathing it in), is not included in the BIER Report.
And the last piece brings us over to Ian Goddard’s video, and that is this assumption by the Japanese and International Atomic Energy Agency, that at some point, this radiation is really so hard to measure that it does not count anymore. Well, the data indicates that just the opposite is happening. And that brings me to Ian Goddard’s video. I will be back at the end of the video to try to summarize everything we have talked about today. [...]
Well, I would like to thank Ian Goddard for that excellent analysis and sum up what all of this means. According to the National Academy of Sciences, the BIER Report, Biological Effects of Ionizing Radiation, the chance of someone in Fukushima receiving a cancer is about 1 in 500 at the threshold that the Japanese have set. But it is worse than that: Young girls are 5 times more radio-sensitive than the data indicates. So what that means is that at least 1 in 100 young girls is likely to get cancer if they go back in under those radiation limits. And that does not include hot particles and it does not include what Mr. Goddard has clearly shown is a problem of low-level exposures perhaps being worse than linear.

· There’s no need to panic — probably
· But not knowing whether to shrug or cower over radioactive iodine falling on Calgary as a result of a meltdown in Japan last year has Canada’s top nuclear critic wondering why
· Health Canada hasn’t even released the data, saying it’s too small an amount to be worthy of public comment — and the same silence has applied for much of the Canadian data collected so far
· Health Canada confirms that last March, after the Fukushima nuclear accident, a Calgary monitoring station detected an average of 8.18 becquerels per litre of radioactive iodine, stemming from Japan

· “Why aren’t they just reporting this stuff and not commenting — they seem to take it upon themselves to deny there’s any danger, even enough to let people know what’s happening”
· He’s been pointed when saying radiation from Fukushima will lead to higher rates of cancer in Canada — though he’s also quick to say the risk is tiny on a per-person basis
· Now he’s asking questions about rain which fell on Calgary shortly after the nuclear disaster last March, containing radioactive iodine well above the Health Canada guidelines for drinking water
· Edwards says Calgarians should at least have known there was a spike beyond recommended levels, especially as rain-bourne radiation concentrates in vegetation and the food chain
· “It’s not up to Health Canada to decide for everybody else what they should do”
Dr. Paul Gully, Health Canada’s senior medical advisor
- Officials with the federal agency say raising red flags over a “one off” sample of radioactive rain is fearmongering
- “Even if the level in water was close to what the upper limits would be, that would still mean someone would have to consume two litres a day, all year, in order to reach a level where they might possibly be at risk”
- “Therefore, for a level to be identified in Calgary in rainwater on one occasion, really means there is no risk — not in the past and not now”
- “Be reassured if there was a problem, and Health Canada does continuous monitoring, then Canadians would be informed”

1) Gully: A “one off” sample of radioactive rain [...] “identified in Calgary in rainwater on one occasion”
· One Off? “Rain was tested only at the end of each month, after a network of monitoring stations sent samples to Ottawa. This meant the radiation spikes last March were only discovered in early April, after rainwater samples were sent to Ottawa for testing – too late to alert the public, including those who collect rain for drinking and gardening.”
· Just Calgary? “Some of Health Canada’s numbers are much lower than those reported by other radiation researchers. Simon Fraser University nuclear chemist Krzysztof Starosta found iodine levels in rainwater in Burnaby, B.C., spiked to 13 becquerels per litre in March – many times higher than the levels Health Canada detected in nearby Vancouver [March in Vancouver averaged only 0.69 becquerels per litre of I-131 in rainwater for the gov't, just 1/20th Starosta's levels].”
2) Gully: “Someone would have to consume two litres a day, all year, in order to reach a level where they might possibly be at risk”
>> The Calgary Sun article quotes Gordon Edwards, a former advisor on nuclear matters to Ottawa and the Ontario government:
“There are certain people who might be concerned — for instance, a pregnant woman [...] When a baby is growing inside, that baby should not be getting a dose of radiation at a critical moment of development, because when an embryo gets radiation, one damaged cell can multiply. A fetus is far more susceptible to radiation. Is a fetus likely to be harmed by this level of radiation? No, but could it be, yes.”
Top Gov’t Official: Fukushima nuke report was so shocking we decided to treat it as if it didn’t exist -Kyodo
Title: Cabinet kept alarming nuke report secret
Date: Sunday, Jan. 22, 2012
Fearful of scaring public, existence of document was denied for months
The government buried a worst-case scenario for the Fukushima nuclear crisis that was drafted last March and kept it under wraps until the end of last year, sources in the administration said Saturday. [...]
“The content was so shocking that we decided to treat it as if it didn’t exist,” a senior government official said. [...]
The document forecast that in a worst-case scenario the plant’s crippled reactors would intermittently release massive quantities of radioactive materials for about a year.
The projection was based on a scenario in which a hydrogen explosion would tear through the No. 1 reactor’s containment vessel, forcing all workers at the plant to evacuate because of the ensuing lethal radiation levels. [...]
· After the document was shown to a small, select group of senior government officials at the prime minister’s office in late March, the administration of then Prime Minister Naoto Kan decided to quietly bury it, the sources said
· In order to deny its existence, the government treated it as a personal document of Japan Atomic Energy Commission Chairman Shunsuke Kondo, who authored it, until the end of December, the sources said

Report: Concern Reactor 2 will not last long enough to begin removing melted fuel — PCV wall very corroded
Jan. 20 Tweets from Happy20790 ハッピー translated by Fukushima Diary:
From the video of endoscope, SUS pipes were not so corroded but carbon pipes have gone so corroded. We are supposed to start taking out the fuel debris in 10 years from now but I bet it does not last so long.
The coating of the PCV wall is also being ripped off and the wall itself is very corroded though it’s better spec than system7. It must have been such a heat. Hatch of the operation control or airlock are even thinner so I’m worried about that too. I suppose rubber packing is also damaged.

AP: Integrity of Reactor No. 4 building a major concern among experts — Collapse of spent fuel pool could be even worse than 3 reactor meltdowns
TEPCO spokesman Junichi Matsumoto [...] said officials are investigating the cause of that leak, but that it was unlikely the pipe had been loosened by the many aftershocks that have hit the plant.
The structural integrity of the damaged Unit 4 reactor building has long been a major concern among experts because a collapse of its spent fuel cooling pool could cause a disaster worse than the three reactor meltdowns.
Radioactive leaks at crippled Fukushima nuclear power plant increase two months after it was declared safe
A test of a HEPA air filter stationed in California recorded radiation levels at 351% and 538% above normal background levels.
The tests, conducted by the Enviroreporter, show levels much higher than normal background levels that are most likely coming from the Fukushima nuclear disaster.
It is clear that, despite a large scale misinformation campaign conducted by various governments and sock puppets throughout the internet, an increase in radiation HAS been seen in the United States after the Japan Fukushima nuclear disaster.
Up to 8.5 tons of radioactive water have leaked from Japan's crippled Fukushima nuclear plant. TEPCO, the plant’s operator, failed to winterize the reactor’s cooling system, leading to fractures in its pipes due to frozen water inside.
"But Al Gore said we didn't have to worry about freezing any more!!!!!!!"
1) Green Tea: Historically, in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, surprising healing data would emerge. People not vaporized on the spot suffered radiation sickness. Cancers came later. Those who drank copious amounts of green tea tended to recover. White tea, especially Silver Needle, may be even more effective.
2) Clay Baths: Healing clay or bentonite has drawing power, pulling toxins out of the body. Clay baths have been taken to help heal the body of exposure to heavy metals, industrial and agricultural poisons and radiation. Drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration. Amount of clay ranges from 1 Tbs. to 1 cup per hot bath.
Bentonite is available at pharmacies. More exotic clays, rose, green and white, are stocked by health food stores. A particularly powerful clay is mined in the Big Horn Mountains of Wyoming: http://www.pascalite.com/ Rinse off after thirty minute soak.
A foot-bath is also effective. It can be as simple as a bucket, of wide enough diameter for the feet, set on a folded towel to help retain water warmth, the legs and bucket wrapped in a towel. 1 Tbs-1/4 cup clay. Might be a useful time sit in comfy chair and disengage from electronics, just close eyes, very soothing.
Mothers of autistic children report improvement using clay baths. Appalled at the shock of a happy child suddenly screaming into nightmare and remoteness following vaccination, mothers have activated into solution-mode. Clay baths are an ancient form of healing and are real.
3) Bentonite Veggie/Fruit Wash: The white clay, bentonite, is used by the nuclear industry to sop up radiation from its numerous spills and mishaps. If you use a salad spinner to rinse produce, try a soak of bentonite water, ~1 Tbs/gal. for 10 minutes. Pour off; rinse.
4) Baking Soda and Sea Salt Baths: The usual protocol calls for one pound baking soda and one pound sea salt. This is a bit weird--the water can actually turn opaque-gray and slimy if there's been significant radiation exposure--from medical procedures or mishaps. Be sure to drink water while soaking, and rinse off in shower afterward.
5) Lugol's Iodine: solution is taken by drops. With the 2.2% solution, the general recommended dosage is 1-2 drops in a glass of water with 1tsp apple cider vinegar, depending on body weight, 2x/week, (or 3x in the event of nuclear emergency. Are we there yet, EPA? ) Follow directions on your particular bottle; do not exceed dosage. Lugol's is inexpensive and the bottle contains 1200 doses, sufficient to share. Lugol's source:
7. September, 2011: Re Lugol's Iodine, I have just spoken with the very knowledgeable herbalist at the above link. Given the magnitude of Fukushima's ongoing radioactive fallout, it is now recommended to apply Lugol's daily--apply it topically to inner wrist or tummy, 1-4 drops. The herbalist stressed that Lugol's may be our most important remedy--Impaired thyroid function is now "normal" due to reasons discussed in the four radiation articles here. (See right sidebar.) Impaired thyroid function is associated with the diabetes epidemic, Alzheimer's, cancers, depression, chronic fatigue, etc. As an aside he is currently finding radioactive contamination at 1,000% normal in 1-2% of the herbs he tests (and rejects.)
10. Sept. Update: In applying therapeutic Lugol's iodine to wrist or tum topically, a guideline is as follows: If the iodine smear is absorbed in less than 12 hours, Houston we have an iodine deficiency. That can mean:
1. Meager intake.
2. Or, very high radioactive-iodine fallout, increasing need. As Japan/US/EPA have suppressed data, who's to know?
I have had a disturbing revelation in that regard. As a nutritionist, I have included sea veggies in my diet routinely for many, many years. I started on Lugol's Iodine by mouth mid-March. Ergo, all bases covered, or so I thought.
On the reco of the herbalist who formulates Lugol's, I began applying Lugol's topically on a daily basis. And watched appalled as the iodine was absorbed quickly.
Folks, this is not a drill. See to your families?
6) Sea veggies: contain natural iodine. The Japanese have high intake of edible seaweeds and till now have enjoyed exemplary health and longevity. Maine Coast Sea Veggies, a source in the US, has had a predictable increase in international orders when, say, a nuclear power plant in Europe vents radioactivity:
"Marine phytochemicals found only in sea vegetables have been shown to absorb and eliminate radioactive elements and heavy metal contaminants from our bodies. "
When Chernobyl blew, at least some of the children received potassium iodide. Why are parents, under Fukushima-cloud, not being advised that they and especially their children are at risk of thyroid cancer?
Governmental-let's- pretend, and media-silence, stand as a colossal breach of public duty.
7) Kombucha: A probiotic cultured from teas. Most medical research on its efficacy comes out of Eastern Europe and Germany, where MD's prescribe it. Kombucha is now available in health food stores in the US and some supermarkets. It can be made at home. See why-do and how-to at following link; scroll down:
8) Aloe vera Leaf Cancer Remedy: See your doctor, but this Brazilian remedy is worth a look. A Friar Minor living in the Amazonian hinterland learned it from the locals, and shared it with the world.
9) Zapper: The Naturopath, Dr. Hulda Clark, developed a zapper to deal with parasites and diseases. It was somewhat complex. More user-friendly and affordable 9V-battery-powered zappers have been developed, some utilizing Dr. Wilhelm Reich's research. Don Croft's version was reportedly sent to a Chernobyl First Responder, dying of radiation sickness and cancers. The man used it 24/7 and is said to have recovered. http://www.worldwithoutparasites.com/
10) Food: We don't yet know how radioactively-contaminated global agriculture may become. If fresh produce gets to be off-limits, it would be wise to have dry goods in pantry. Dried nettles are very high nutrient and delicious added to soups, beans, grains; ditto dried mushrooms, dried garlic, onions, peppers, spinach, spices, sea veggies. Stock in mung beans, which are very easy to sprout.
Quinoa cooks in twenty minutes and was called the "mother grain" in Inca times. Rice from the Far East is looking iffy. Brown and red rice take 45 minutes to cook, delicious/nutritious drizzled with soy sauce.
Our fast-paced society may return to higher-nutrient foods and meals together.
Teas from Japan and China may not be safely available. Chlorella, a valuable tonic and chelator of heavy metals and toxins, is grown in Japan, alas. Existing stocks represent a premier food. Hawaiian-grown spirulina, also an excellent superfood, might be purchased now as well.
The following link was sleuthed by savvy-friend and contains a moving account by a Japanese physician, speaking of heroes, who gives an account of staying at his hospital in devastated Nagasaki and insisting all staff and patients be fed macrobiotic foods and absolutely no sugar. His patients recovered from radiation sickness, and he and staff were able to remain a vital and healing presence in the midst of radioactive rubble:
Nuclear power plants may be a wrong turn for living things, and they've been built on tsunami-vulnerable coasts and fault lines. Common sense has not prevailed. Natural disasters and human error do happen. Best scenario, don't live near one, though millions do. It might be sensible to stock in some of the radiation remedies and nutritious foods for your family, for community.
Instead of Protecting People, Governments Cover Up by Raising “Safe” Radiation Levels
American and Canadian authorities have virtually stopped monitoring airborne radiation.
Neither American nor Canadian authorities are testing fish for radioactivity.
Does that mean that we don’t have to worry about radiation from Fukushima?
It is a little hard to know, given that what is deemed a “safe level” of radiation is determined by politics … rather than science. For example, current safety standards are based on the ridiculous assumption that everyone exposed is a healthy man in his 20s – and that radioactive particles ingested into the body cause no more damage than radiation hitting the outside of the body.
Unprecedented phenomenon from using saltwater in Fukushima reactors — Forming new uranium compounds able to travel long distances
Seawater can corrode nuclear fuel, forming uranium compounds that could potentially travel long distances, either in solution or as very small particles. Uranium clusters could form on the surface of a fuel rod exposed to seawater and then be transported away, surviving in the environment for months or years before reverting to more common forms of uranium, without peroxide, and settling to the bottom of the ocean. There is no data yet on how fast these uranium peroxide clusters will break down in the environment, Navrotsky said.
All the explosions (quakes) people have been feeling around Fukushima that are listed as earthquakes on the Japan sensors. The fact that they could not find the fuel rods when they looked in Reactor 2, was obvious something big is going on at Fukushima.

Fukushima Operator Admits 20% Increase In Radiation
JiJi Press – one of Japan’s largest news sources – reports:
Tokyo Electric Power Co. on Monday reported an increase in radioactive materials leaking from damaged nuclear reactors at the Fukushima … plant.
The total amount of radioactive cesium that leaked from the containment vessels of the No. 1 to No. 3 reactors reached 70 million becquerels per hour, up 12 million becquerels from the December level, the power firm said.
It seems that radioactive dusts were stirred up because plant workers went inside reactor buildings and removed rubble, TEPCO officials said.
While it is possible that the increased radiation is simply due to dust being stirred up, there is some evidence that the increase in radiation corresponds with recent earthquakes.
Or it could be due to the possible escape of nuclear fuel from the nuclear container vessels.
Indeed, a Fukushima whistleblower allegedly claims that radioactive fuel is coming out from beneath the containment building:
Radiation readings from the EnviroReporter have revealed high levels of HOT particles in Michigan, possibly from the Fukushima nuclear disaster.
Radiation levels after a storm in the area read 561% over normal background levels. Then, after a second storm, the levels were even higher, 6.5 times higher than normal accepted levels to be exact.
Michael Collins, the founder of EnviroReporter recently published a detailed article on the readings:
I had been looking at the Japanese quake site this morning and noticed many Earthquakes at Fukushima today and yesterday. There are more listed on the site linked above. Notice the size of these quakes.

The Department of Energy is far from an unbiased source on the Nuclear Industry. They have openly admitted in publicly released promotional videos that they are working to support our nations nuclear industry.
They have consistently attempted to change the accepted mainstream science on the dangers of radiation and redefine low dose radiation exposure as harmless.
The recent study is nothing short of junk science that will be used to continue to downplay the dangers of the low level amounts of radiation frequently released by our nations nuclear power plants.
