Iran:

Iran rushes through law expelling British ambassador

A bill to downgrade Iran's ties with Britain got final approval on Monday a day after parliament approved the measure compelling the government to expel the British ambassador in retaliation for sanctions imposed over Tehran's nuclear activity.

If the Ambassador was expelled, then the building he used to use is technically no longer an embassy, so Obama's screaming about Iran's "diplomatic obligations" is moot.

Britain outraged after Tehran embassy stormed

The British Foreign Office voiced outrage at the incursion into its embassy, saying it was “utterly unacceptable and we condemn it”.

"After all, we have a divine right to impose crippling sanctions on anyone we want based on whatever lies about weapons of mass destruction we care to make up, and they are just supposed to accept that without complaint! I do not understand what is wrong with these people. A little hunger and inconvenience is a small price for them to pay for the greater glory of the British Empire! Next thing you know they'll start dumping our tea into a harbor!" -- Number 9 3/4

Report: Explosion rocks Iran city of Isfahan, home to key nuclear facility

A explosion rocked the western Iranian city of Isfahan on Monday, the semi-official Fars news agency reported, adding that the blast was heard in several parts of the city.

The reported incident occurred about two weeks after Gen. Hasan Tehrani Moghaddam was killed together with 20 other Guard members Nov. 12 at a military site outside Bidganeh village, 40 kilometers southwest of Tehran.

More sabotage?

The Australian Reports Of Second Explosion In Iranian City Of Isfahan

"All eyes on Israel after second Iranian blast. CLOUDS of smoke billowed above the city of Isfahan - evidence that the latest strike against Iran's alleged nuclear weapons program had hit its target."

Has Israel already started the attack on Iran?

U.S. orders foreign firms not to do business with Iran... amid warning that tougher sanctions could send oil prices sky high

Foreign financial institutions that do business with Iran's central bank are set to be penalised, under tougher new U.S. sanctions against the country.

The U.S. Senate unanimously approved the move yesterday against the bank which acts as the main conduit for its oil revenues.

It came despite warnings that threatening U.S. allies may not be the best way to gain co-operation in action against Iran.

And who benefits from spiking oil prices in the US?!?! Why, the oil companies whose employee or family contributions Obama so willingly took in the 2008 elections!

Here’s a chart we made, using the OpenSecrets.org database, of contributions to Obama from individuals employed by some of the largest oil companies in the U.S. Our numbers are conservative because the database doesn’t include donations of less than $200 (federal law doesn’t require the reporting of donations below that amount), and we haven’t included sums donated by the spouses or other immediate family members of the employees. Additionally, we haven’t included donations from people who work at smaller firms in the industry.

And of course, let's not forget BP in this process, in terms of contributions to both President Obama and Congressional members.

While the BP oil geyser pumps millions of gallons of petroleum into the Gulf of Mexico, President Barack Obama and members of Congress may have to answer for the millions in campaign contributions they’ve taken from the oil and gas giant over the years.

US Rep calls for bombing Iran refineries

US Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich has called for a military strike against Iran's refineries to stop the country's peaceful nuclear program.

The US should bomb Iran's refineries "as a last recourse," Gingrich said earlier in a 2012 presidential debate in Washington.

The former House speaker opined that the US could break Iran within a year with "cutting off the gasoline supply to Iran and then, frankly, sabotaging the only refinery they have."

Iran: We'll fire 150,000 missiles at Israel if attacked

Israel would be hit with thousands of fuel air explosives as would all US Central Command bases. The Iranians also have Russian, Chinese and NATO made anti-ship missiles plus rocket artillery with up to a 92 mile range that will sink the US Persian Gulf fleet in minutes.

Ask Zionists to look up the term fuel air explosive when you expose them to reality.

'Iran strike to paralyze life in Israel'

Former director of the Mossad spy agency Meir Dagan has warned that an Israeli military strike against Iran's nuclear facilities would lead to a regional war.

He noted that Syria would also join Iran in that scenario.

Dagan added that such a war would take a heavy toll in terms of lost lives and would paralyze life in Israel.

Israeli officials roundly criticized Dagan for calling a possible attack on Iran "a stupid idea," saying such remarks undermine Israel's ability of prowess.

Israel's Science and Technology Minister Daniel Hershkowitz also said an indictment against Dagan should be considered, adding that he should not have made the comments whether they were correct or not.

So, having told the truth(in public, or through the media) has now become a thought-crime in Israel?!?

It looks as though the Knesset needs another enforcement arm against its citizenry: the DTS (Department of Truth Suppression!)

US official says Iran should not issue threats

Associated Press – Nov 29, 2011

ANKARA, Turkey – A senior U.S. official has dismissed Iran's threats against NATO missile defense installations in Turkey ahead of a visit by U.S. Vice President Joe Biden to the key U.S. ally and linchpin of NATO's southern flank.

An Iranian general said Saturday that Tehran would target NATO's early warning radar in Turkey if the U.S. or Israel attacks the Islamic Republic after an International Atomic Energy Agency report said for the first time that Tehran was suspected of conducting secret experiments whose sole purpose was the development of nuclear arms.

Antony Blinken, national security adviser to Biden, told a teleconference briefing from Washington on Monday that "making threatening statements doesn't serve anyone's purpose, least of all the Iranians."

Pimco's 4 "Iran Invasion" Oil Price Scenarios: From $140 To "Doomsday"

Pimco's Greg Sharenow has released a white paper on what the Newport Beach company believes are the 4 possible outcomes should Iranian nuclear facilities be struck as increasingly more believe will happen given enough time. The conclusion is sensible enough "Whenever the global economy is in a fragile state, as it is today, geopolitical concerns such as the possibility of a strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities become much more exaggerated.

Scenario 1: Exports minimally effected. Concerns would drive initial price response; Oil could spike initially to $130 to $140 per barrel and then settle in a higher range, around $120 to $125; ii)

Scenario 2: Iranian exports cut off for one month. In this case, we would expect prices could reach previous all-time highs of $145/bbl or even higher depending on issues with shipping; iii)

Scenario 3: Iranian exports are lost for half a year. We think oil prices could probably rally and average $150 for the six months, with notable spikes above that level; iv)

Scenario 4: Greater loss of production from around the region, either through subsequent Iranian response or due to lack of ability to move oil through Straits of Hormuz. This is the Armageddon scenario in which oil prices could soar, significantly constraining global growth. Forecasting prices in the prior scenarios is dangerous enough. So, we won’t even begin to forecast a cap or target price in this final Doomsday scenario." Needless to say, even the modest Scenario 1 is enough to collapse global economic growth by several percentage points to the point where not even coordinated global printing will do much.

One wonders if this is why BP has been given permission to resume drilling in the Gulf of Mexico, which happened in October of this year.

U.S. officials have given BP the go-ahead to drill a new deepwater well in the Gulf of Mexico, its first such permit since last year's catastrophic oil spill. Regulators said Wednesday BP has met strict safety requirements implemented after the Deepwater Horizon disaster. The proposed exploratory well is located roughly 246 miles south of Lafayette, La., in water more than 6,000 feet deep. That's about 1,000 feet deeper than BP's Macondo well that blew out in April 2010, killing 11 rig workers and leading to the worst offshore oil spill in U.S. history. This is BP's first permit to drill, but the company has been active in the Gulf for months. Other companies have also received deepwater permits in recent months.

Iran: Price of oil would double if exports are blocked

Western nations have not finalized moves against Iran’s oil trade and central bank amid fears of possible impact on global economy; Iran is world’s fifth biggest oil exporter.

Haaretz

Iran warned the West on Sunday any move to block its oil exports would more than double crude prices with devastating consequences on a fragile global economy.

“As soon as such an issue is raised seriously the oil price would soar to above $250 a barrel,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said in a newspaper interview.

The comments come as Iran strives to contain international reaction to the storming of the British embassy last week, a move which drew immediate condemnation from around the world and may galvanize support for tougher action against Iran.

Iran poses no threat to US: Russia

Iran poses no threat to the United States, Russia said Tuesday, rebuffing a key argument of President Barack Obama on whether to go ahead with a European missile shield bitterly opposed by Moscow.

Since the 1979 Iranian revolution and the downfall of the US Puppet Ruler the Shah, Iran has been an Islamic state. In that interval of time, 1979 to the present, Iran has not invaded anyone. Not once. People of all religions live in peace in Iran, even Jews, who find life so comfortable in Iran they refused an offer by the government of Israel to emigrate!
In the same period of time, Israel, a self-declared Jewish state, attacked Iraq in 1981, bombing the power station at Osirik, claiming it was a clandestine weapons factory. Subsequent examination of the ruins following the 2003 invasion proved Israel had lied. In 1982, Israel invaded Lebanon. This led to the Massacres at Sabra and Shatilla. In February 2003 Israel staged incursions into Gaza and Nablus. In September 2007 Israel bombed Syria, again insisting they were destroying a clandestine weapons laboratory. Again there was no evidence to support Israel's claims. In 2006, Israel attacked Lebanon, killing 1200, mostly civilians, several UN observers, and littering the landscape with land mines on their way out. In February 2008 Israel again raided Gaza, killing over 100. HAMAS agreed to a cease fire and kept it for 6 months until November 4, when Israel again attacked without warning, killing 6 HAMAS members, and launching operation CAST LEAD. 1300 Gazans, mostly civilians, were killed. Israel lost 13 soldiers. Violations of international law included the use of White Phosphorus incendiary bombs against civilians and non-military targets. The United Nations investigated, but Israel refused to cooperate. In May 2010, Israel attacked an international aid flotilla bringing food and medical supplies to Gaza in international waters.
9 people were murdered including an American from New York.

In the same period of time, the United States, officially a secular nation but predominantly Christian, attacked El Salvador (1980), Libya (1981), Sinai (1982), Lebanon (1982 1983), Egypt (1983), Grenada (1983), Honduras (1983), Chad (1983), Persian Gulf (1984), Libya (1986) , Bolivia (1986), Iran (1987), Persian Gulf (1987), Kuwait (1987), Iran (1988), Honduras (1988), Panama (1988), Libya (1989), Panama (1989), Colombia, Bolivia, and Peru (1989), Philippines (1989), Panama (1989-1990), Liberia (1990), Saudi Arabia (1990), Iraq (1991), Zaire (1991), Sierra Leone (1992), Somalia (1992), Bosnia-Herzegovina (1993 to present), Macedonia (1993), Haiti (1994), Macedonia (1994), Bosnia (1995), Liberia (1996), Central African Republic (1996), Albania (1997), Congo/Gabon (1997), Sierra Leon (1997), Cambodia (1997), Iraq (1998), Guinea/Bissau (1998), Kenya/Tanzania (1998 to 1999), Afghanistan/Sudan (1998), Liberia (1998), East Timor (1999), Serbia (1999), Sierra Leon (2000), Yemen (2000), East Timor (2000), Afghanistan (2001 to present), Yemen (2002), Philippines (2002) , Cote d'Ivoire (2002), Iraq (2003 to present), Liberia (2003), Georgia/Djibouti (2003), Haiti (2004), Georgia/Djibouti/Kenya/Ethiopia/Yemen/Eritrea War on Terror (2004), Pakistan drone attacks (2004 to present), Somalia (2007), South Ossetia/Georgia (2008), Syria (2008), Yemen (2009), Haiti (2010), etc. etc. etc. etc.

So, who is the danger to world peace?

China must protect Iran even with WWIII

A professor from the Chinese National Defense University says if Iran is attacked, China will not hesitate to protect the Islamic Republic even by launching the Third World War.

Major General Zhang Zhaozhong said, "China will not hesitate to protect Iran even with a third World War."

The United States and Israel have repeatedly threatened Tehran with the "option" of a military strike, based on the allegation that Iran's nuclear program may consist of a covert military agenda.

Iran has refuted the allegations, saying that as a signatory to the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and a member of the IAEA, it has the right to develop and acquire nuclear technology for peaceful purposes.

"China will not hesitate to protect Iran even with a third World War"

Will Israel bomb Iran without notifying the US?

The danger is that Netanyahu may seek to break out of the current political isolation by mounting a spectacular attack.

Remember before Israel screwed things up, how we thought an Iranian nuclear power station was a GOOD thing?

Obama extends national emergency regarding Iran

"Because the actions and policies of the Government of Iran continue to pose an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security, foreign policy, and economy of the United States, the national emergency declared on March 15, 1995, must continue in effect beyond March 15, 2011," Obama's notice says.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Translation: "Iran is a threat to Israel's nuclear monopoly. And since the profits from the sales of those Israeli nuclear weapons to unfriendly governments is what funds my election campaigns, I will work to make sure Israel can go on asking for ridiculously high prices for those warheads!" -- Official White Horse Souse

FBI discovered Israel was coordinating anti-Iran efforts through at least one member of Congress

Shamai K. Leibowitz, an F.B.I. translator, was sentenced to 20 months in prison last year for leaking classified information to a blogger, prosecutors revealed little about the case.

Ed Note: So the FBI and Justice now have another bad mark,so they will not prosecute high up official for dirty dancing with the Israelis? If they did one they would have to do them all, and then how many in Congress would be left????

‘Iran will deny UN rapporteur entrance’

In a move spearheaded by the US, in June the UN Human Rights Council named former Maldivian Foreign Minister Ahmed Shaheed as its human rights investigator on Iran.

“Unfortunately the human rights issue is the political tool of certain Western countries which have serious problems with regards to human rights and are accused of many cases of violating human rights,” Mehmanparast added.

Iran is correct. The United States, a nation that has abandoned the principles of the Bill of Rights and engages in imprisonment without trial and torture, has no moral right to question the human rights record of any other nation. Therefore, this push by the US to point fingers at Iran is a part of the propaganda run-up to eventual invasion.

Iranian nuclear scientist assassinated in Tehran, media reports say

Assailants on a motorcycle assassinated an Iranian nuclear physicist on Saturday, Iranian media reports said, in a killing that bore similarities to other slayings of scientists involved in the country’s nuclear work in recent years.

The semi-official ISNA news agency identified the victim as Darioush Rezaei, a 35-year-old physics professor involved in Iran’s nuclear program, and said he was killed in front of his home in Tehran. Iran’s official IRNA news agency also reported the killing but had few details on the attack or the man’s background.

Death and Contradiction: The Case of Iran’s Nuclear Scientists – An by Dr. Lawrence Davidson

Just about every independent source of analysis on this question agrees that the real perpetrators of these serial murders and attempted murders are the U.S. and Israel, perhaps with an assist from the UK.

Israeli Mossad shoots wrong Iran Nuke Prof in front of wife

A prominent Iranian University professor has been assassinated by unknown terrorists, informed sources with the Iranian police say. Daryoush Rezaienejad and his wife were on their way to their child's kindergarten when they were approached by two men on motorbikes. The gunmen called him by name and shot Rezaei, 35, in the neck when he turned around.

The gunmen chased Rezaeinejad's wife who attempted to find help for her husband. She is currently in hospital, a Press TV correspondent reported. No group or individual has claimed responsibility for the attack. Initially, local Iranian media had reported that Daryoush Rezaienejad was a nuclear physicist.

Way to GO, Mossad; you shot the wrong guy.

Losers.

Man killed in Iran shooting was student, not nuclear scientist

Iran said the victim of a deadly shooting Saturday was a university student, not a physicist involved in the country's nuclear program as state media had first reported.

Really pro, Israel. Killed the wrong man. We are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO impressed!

Iran blamed U.S., Israel for killing of scientist

A senior Iranian official on Sunday blamed the United States and Israel for the assassination of an Iranian scientist, the semi-official Fars news agency reported.

Darioush Rezaie, 35, a university lecturer with a physics doctorate, was shot dead by a motorcyclist in Tehran on Saturday. The student news agency ISNA quoted an unnamed police official as saying Rezaie was a nuclear scientist but Deputy Interior Minister Safarali Baratlou said this was not certain.

"The terrorist U.S.-Israeli action yesterday, which targeted one of the country's scientific elites, is another example of the level of the U.S. animosity (against Iran), said parliament speaker Ali Larijani in a speech to the legislative body.

Report: Israel's new Mossad chief behind assassination of Iran nuclear scientist

Israel's Mossad is behind the assassination of an Iranian nuclear scientist last week, the German weekly Der Spiegel reported, quoting "a source in Israel's intelligence community."

Last week, Dariush Rezaeinejad, a 35-year-old member of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, was shot dead by two gunmen firing from motorcycles. This is the fourth attack on an Iranian nuclear scientist in the past year. In the previous cases, Iranian media outlets and spokesmen accused the Mossad, the CIA and MI6 of being behind the strikes.

This was the first public operation of the new Mossad chief Tamir Pardo," an Israeli intelligence official reportedly told Der Spiegel.

Rift widens in Israel over Iran

Israeli Minister for the Home Front Matan Vilnai and former Mossad chief Meir Dagan have both warned Netanyahu that should the regime launch an attack on Iran, more than 1,000 rockets will hit “central Israel for an undetermined period of time” on a daily basis, Haaretz reported on Tuesday.

In reaction to Dagan's assessment, Netanyahu's associates accused the former spy chief of being a “traitor,” “saboteur,” and “gang leader.”

Meanwhile, as apocalyptic messianism is growing stronger in Israel more than any place in the world, Netanyahu has been perceived as the 'messianic core' among extremist Jewish circles.

Former Mossad Chief Meir Dagan is absolutely correct in his assessment, which obviously has Netanyahu twitchy.

And folks, "apocalyptic messianism" of any flavor gets me twitchy.

These are folks with a belief that a huge war must happen to bring the Messiah back to earth (generally Messianic Jews and Dispensationalist Christians) And because they hold these beliefs, they will do literally anything they believe will help get that process started.

These people scare the stuffing out of me.

Israel government 'reckless and irresponsible' says ex-Mossad chief

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/jun/03/israel-government-reckless-mossad-chief

The former head of Israel's spy service has launched an unprecedented attack on the country's current government, describing it as "irresponsible and reckless", and has praised Arab attempts to reach an Israeli-Palestinian peace agreement.

Meir Dagan stepped down as the head of Mossad six months ago but has gone on the offensive in a series of briefings with journalists and public appearances because he feels that Israel's security is being mismanaged by Binyamin Netanyahu, the prime minister, and Ehud Barak, the defence minister.

Upon leaving his post, Dagan publicly warned against Israel attacking Iran to stop it from acquiring nuclear weapons.

In his latest comments, he said that if Israel attacks Iran, it will find itself at the centre of a regional war that would endanger the state's existence. Dagan's intervention is dangerous for Netanyahu because it comes from the right wing of Israeli opinion rather than the left, where the prime minister would expect criticism.

Dagan has been in charge of aggressive Israeli actions abroad in recent years, that have included assassinations in Lebanon, Syria and Dubai and an air attack on a suspected nuclear reactor in Syria. He also criticised Israel's failure to offer any initiative to resolve the conflict with the Palestinians .

Iran shoots downs Israeli spy drone w US markings near N-site

Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has shot down a US spy drone which was flying over the central Iranian province of Qom, a lawmaker says.

A member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Iranian Majlis (Parliament), Ali Aqazadeh Dafsari, said on Tuesday that the unmanned spy plane was flying near the Fordo nuclear enrichment plant in Qom province when the IRGC's Air Defense units brought it down, Javanoline.ir reported.

Seymour Hersh: Despite Intelligence Rejecting Iran as Nuclear Threat, U.S. Could Be Headed for Iraq Redux

In his latest article for The New Yorker magazine, Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative journalist Seymour Hersh says the United States might attack Iran based on distorted estimates of Iran’s nuclear and military threat—just like it did with Saddam Hussein’s government in Iraq. Hersh reveals that despite using Iranian informants and cutting-edge surveillance technology, U.S. officials have been unable to find decisive evidence that Iran has been moving enriched uranium to an underground weapon-making center.

Unless the US succeeds in blaming Iran for the E. Coli outbreak!

No "Shred of Evidence" Iran Building Nukes, Ex-Head of IAEA Says

The former Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency(IAEA) said in a new published report that he had not seen "a shred of evidence" that Iran was "building nuclear-weapons facilities and using enriched materials."

Mohamed ElBaradei, the Nobel Peace Prize recipient who spent 12 years at the IAEA, told investigative journalist Seymour Hersh, "I don't believe Iran is a clear and present danger. All I see is the hype about the threat posed by Iran."

...

Hersh points out that the last two U.S. National Intelligence Estimates (N.I.E.s) on Iranian nuclear progress "have stated that there is no conclusive evidence that Iran has made any effort to build the bomb since 2003."

SEPTEMBER SURPRISE: ISRAELI ATTACK ON IRAN?

U.S. targets ports, airline in new Iran sanctions

The Obama administration expanded Iran sanctions to an Iranian airline and an operator of ports.

The new sanctions, announced Thursday in a joint statement by the U.S. Treasury and State departments, target Tidewater Middle East Co., which operates a number of ports, and Iran Air.

This feels like the prelude to some blockades and inspections on Iranian cargo ships by the US, the EU, and NATO.

A blockade is an an act of war.

BUSTED! ANTI-ISLAM PROPAGANDA FAKERY!

So there I was, wearing my hip-waders, slogging through the "Muslims are evil so we gotta bomb Iran for Israel" crap pouring forth from the sewers at ABCNNBBCBS when these two photos emerged at two different corporate media websites.

As you can see when they are placed side by side, the image of the man holding the placard is the same photo, while the intentionally inflammatory text are photoshopped onto whatever was really on that card. The top two lines of the sign are the exact same, but some of the images of words are reused from one image to the next, such as the "who" in the middle, which is merely slid over, and the word "Islam" which is moved up one line from the first photo to the second.

For all we know, the sign originally advertised a daily special at the local falafel restaurant!

This is why you need to be very careful of anything shown to you to get you to hate who the governments of the US and Israel want you to hate.

Iran Clones Russian S-300 Radar

Here is the back story.

1. Israel demands Obama prevent Iran from buying this radar system, which can detect Israeli aircraft attacking Iran.

2. Obama, in the middle of the worst economic times in the nation's history, uses YOUR tax dollars to bribe Russia to cancel the sale of this radar to Iran.

3. Iran, which unlike the USA still supports technical education of the people, design their own version of the exact same radar, which means now they can cheaply manufacture as many of them as they need.

4. Good thinking on the part of Israel and the USA! They are out your money and Iran not only has the radar anyway but more of them as well.

Iran's supreme leader accuses U.S. of terrorism

Iran’s supreme leader on Saturday accused the United States of supporting terrorism, pointing to American drone strikes in Pakistan and Afghanistan that he said have killed scores of civilians. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said a country whose military forces are responsible for such deaths can’t lecture the world about fighting terror.

"The U.S. and the European governments that follow it describe Palestinian combatant groups who fight for the liberation of their land as terrorists," Khamenei said in a written message to an international conference on combating terrorism that opened Saturday in Tehran. At the same time, Khamenei said, Israeli military strikes that hit civilians or assassinations of Palestinians by Israeli security agents are not condemned by the West as acts of terrorism.

U.S. military sees Iran behind rising troop deaths in Iraq

U.S. military commanders have said in recent months that they feared such an increase in violence would accompany the planned withdrawal of most American troops by the end of the year. Military officials in Baghdad and at the Pentagon blamed the mounting death toll on the growing sophistication of weapons that insurgents and Iranian-backed militia groups are using, including powerful rockets, armor-piercing grenades and jam-resistant roadside bombs suspected of coming from Iran.

Yes, folks, when in doubt, BLAME IRAN, AND OFFER NO HARD EVIDENCE.

(Ahem). Of course, the US government takes absolutely zero responsibility for having destroyed Iraq's infrastructure, including schools, hospitals, and sanitation facilities.

The US government takes no responsibility for the huge number of dead, maimed, disabled and displaced Iraqis as a consequence of its invasion and occupation.

The US government takes no responsibility for the US use of depleted uranium, which has caused horrendous spikes in exotic cancers and horrendous deformities in Iraq's kids in places like Fallujah.

The US government takes no responsibility for having installed its tinpot dictator, Al-Maliki, who ordered his army to shoot protestors in cold blood earlier this year. (warning: very graphic images)

http://www.youtube.com/verify_age?next_url=http%3A//www.youtube.com/watch%3Fv%3DCqGzZUmemeM

The corruption of al-Maliki's government is even worse than it ever was under Saddam Hussein, and rampant poverty has enveloped Iraq.

The US-generated Sunni-Shiite tensions are still smoldering beneath the surface.

I do not want to see one hair harmed on the head of any of our military. But having said that, I can understand the rage of an occupied people, wanting their country back, and wanting some semblance of normalcy to return to their lives. That rage and fury cannot help but culminate in violence.

And trust me, with all that the US has done to destroy this once proud country on a completely false premise, to blame Iran for the fury of Iraq's citizens for what has been done to them misses the point entirely.

Guess they figure the American sheeple are dumbed down enough to where they can get away with any nonsense they want to throw out there. US threatens to act unilaterally against Iran

The United States is concerned about Iran providing weapons to Iraq militants and will take unilateral action when needed to deal with the threat, US Defence Secretary Leon Panetta said on Monday.

Given the bovine excrement about Saddam's nuclear weapons I think we can assume this is just more of the same. Israel is demanding the US attack Iran (just as Israel demanded the US attack Iraq. ) Are you ready to stand to one side while the government sends our children to die in wars for Israel?

Panetta Vows Measures Against Iran After Violence Spike in Iraq

Speaking today in Baghdad, Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta vowed to do “everything that is necessary” to retaliate against Iran for what he called attempts to arm Shi’ite militias in Iraq. His allegations rehashed claims made last week by Admiral Michael Mullen.

Memo to SecDef Panetta:

1. The US has killed and injured millions in the invasion and occupation of Iraq.

2. The US has completely destroyed the country's infrastructure, and Iraq's health care, water, and education systems, which used to rank as some of the finest in the region, have been decimated. Much of the alleged "reconstruction" which has been done has been shoddy to the point of absolutely non-functional.

3. Many Iraqis, as well as our Vets, have been poisoned courtesy of the use of depleted uranium weapons, and are experiencing massive incidents of cancer and birth defects in their kids.

4. We have installed a corrupt puppet government in Baghdad which attacks peaceful protestors, and is making utterly no strides in taking care of the people of Iraq.

5. It appears that the US government is doing everything humanly possible to have our troops outstay the SOFA agreement, which (theoretically) has all US troops out of Iraq by 31 December of this year.

Iran hasn't done any of these things, Secretary Panetta: it is the US government which has done them, and ultimately has only itself to blame.

I don't want to see one hair on the head of one US military person in Iraq harmed.

Having said that, it had to be completely predictable that the seething anger Iraqi civilians are experiencing relative to all of the above might erupt in violence.

Blaming Iran for the current violence in Iraq is disingenuous in the extreme, and totally irresponsible.

Of course, Iran may well be next on the US's "hit parade" (literally) because Israel claims that it is an "existential threat" to its existence; hence, the ramp-up of false charges against it. Remember the long ramp-up of lies and false accusations which lead to the invasion and occupation of Iraq?!? It's "Deja vu, all over again" here with Iran.

However, since becoming an Islamic Republic in '79, the question has to be asked: who has Iran invaded since that point in time?!? The short answer is, nobody!

Israel Minister: Strike on Iran Could Be Necessary

An Israeli Cabinet minister said the civilized world must take joint action to avert the Iranian nuclear threat, including a pre-emptive strike if necessary.

So the Israeli minister does not think Iran is part of the civilized world..but Israel is...!!

HAMAS agreed to a cease fire and kept it for 6 months until November 4, when Israel again attacked, killing 6 HAMAS members, and launching operation CAST LEAD. 1300 Gazans, mostly civilians, were killed. Israel lost 13 soldiers. Violations of international law include the use of White Phosphorus incendiary bombs against civilians and non-military targets. The United Nations investigated, but Israel refused to cooperate. In May 2010, Israel attacked an international aid flotilla bring food and medical supplies to Gaza in international waters. 9 people were murdered including an American from New York.

In the same period of time, the United States, officially a secular nation but predominantly Christian, attacked El Salvador (1980), Libya (1981), Sinai (1982), Lebanon (1982 1983), Egypt (1983), Grenada (1983), Honduras (1983), Chad (1983), Persian Gulf (1984), Libya (1986) , Bolivia (1986), Iran (1987), Persian Gulf (1987), Kuwait (1987), Iran (1988), Honduras (1988), Panama (1988), Libya (1989), Panama (1989), Colombia, Bolivia, and Peru (1989), Philippines (1989), Panama (1989-1990), Liberia (1990), Saudi Arabia (1990), Iraq (1991), Zaire (1991), Sierra Leone (1992), Somalia (1992), Bosnia-Herzegovina (1993 to present), Macedonia (1993), Haiti (1994), Macedonia (1994), Bosnia (1995), Liberia (1996), Central African Republic (1996), Albania (1997), Congo/Gabon (1997), Sierra Leon (1997), Cambodia (1997), Iraq (1998), Guinea/Bissau (1998), Kenya/Tanzania (1998 to 1999), Afghanistan/Sudan (1998), Liberia (1998), East Timor (1999), Serbia (1999), Sierra Leon (2000), Yemen (2000), East Timor (2000), Afghanistan (2001 to present), Yemen (2002), Philippines (2002) , Cote d'Ivoire (2002), Iraq (2003 to present), Liberia (2003), Georgia/Djibouti (2003), Haiti (2004), Georgia/Djibouti/Kenya/Ethiopia/Yemen/Eritrea War on Terror (2004), Pakistan drone attacks (2004 to present), Somalia (2007), South Ossetia/Georgia (2008), Syria (2008), Yemen (2009), Haiti (2010), etc. etc. etc. etc.

So, who is civilized, and who is the danger to world peace?

Iran Nuclear Trigger Document a Forgery, Mossad Suspected

U.S. intelligence has concluded that the document published recently by the Times of London, which purportedly describes an Iranian plan to do experiments on what the newspaper described as a “neutron initiator” for an atomic weapon, is a fabrication, according to a former Central Intelligence Agency official.

Philip Giraldi, who was a CIA counterterrorism official from 1976 to 1992, told IPS that intelligence sources say that the United States had nothing to do with forging the document, and that Israel is the primary suspect.

Iran Nuclear Trigger Story Already Proven Fake A Year Ago!

A columnist for the Times has acknowledged that the two-page Persian language document published by the Times last month was not a photocopy of the original document but an expurgated and retyped version of the original.

A translation of a second Persian language document also published by the Times, moreover, contradicts the claim by the Times that it shows the “nuclear trigger” document was written within an organisation run by an Iranian military scientist.

Iran nuclear trigger report a forgery, Ahmadinejad says

A leaked memo appearing to show Tehran's efforts to design an atomic bomb trigger was forged by the United States, Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told a U.S. news program.

Given that the document that claimed Iraq was buying Yellowcake uranium from Niger was also a forgery, I side with Ahmadinejad on this one.

Add to it the numerous assassinations such as last year's embarrassment in Dubai, and you get the picture, even without the overtly racist and apartheid statements coming from Israel's rabbis.

In the same period of time, the United States, officially a secular nation but predominantly Christian, attacked El Salvador (1980), Libya (1981), Sinai (1982), Lebanon (1982 1983), Egypt (1983), Grenada (1983), Honduras (1983), Chad (1983), Persian Gulf (1984), Libya (1986) , Bolivia (1986), Iran (1987), Persian Gulf (1987), Kuwait (1987), Iran (1988), Honduras (1988), Panama (1988), Libya (1989), Panama (1989), Colombia, Bolivia, and Peru (1989), Philippines (1989), Panama (1989-1990), Liberia (1990), Saudi Arabia (1990), Iraq (1991), Zaire (1991), Sierra Leone (1992), Somalia (1992), Bosnia-Herzegovina (1993 to present), Macedonia (1993), Haiti (1994), Macedonia (1994), Bosnia (1995), Liberia (1996), Central African Republic (1996), Albania (1997), Congo/Gabon (1997), Sierra Leon (1997), Cambodia (1997), Iraq (1998), Guinea/Bissau (1998), Kenya/Tanzania (1998 to 1999), Afghanistan/Sudan (1998), Liberia (1998), East Timor (1999), Serbia (1999), Sierra Leon (2000), Yemen (2000), East Timor (2000), Afghanistan (2001 to present), Yemen (2002), Philippines (2002) , Cote d'Ivoire (2002), Iraq (2003 to present), Liberia (2003), Georgia/Djibouti (2003), Haiti (2004), Georgia/Djibouti/Kenya/Ethiopia/Yemen/Eritrea War on Terror (2004), Pakistan drone attacks (2004 to present), Somalia (2007), South Ossetia/Georgia (2008), Syria (2008), Yemen (2009), Haiti (2010), etc. etc. etc. etc.

Iran to prosecute 26 American officials, MP says

Tehran, Iran (CNN) -- Iran plans to prosecute 26 current and former American officials, an Iranian lawmaker said Sunday, potentially escalating a tit-for-tat dispute between the two countries.

"The American officials will be tried in Iranian courts in absentia before they are referred to the relevant international tribunals" if Iran's parliament approves the plan, Tehran member of parliament Esmaeel Kowsari said, according to Mashregh News.

He did not name them, but Iran's government-backed Press TV said in May that parliament planned sanctions on Americans including former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and the current and former commanders of the Guantanamo Bay detention center.

Paul Bremer, the U.S. civilian administrator of Iraq after the fall of Saddam Hussein, and Gen. Tommy Franks, who was head of U.S. Central Command during the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq, are also on the list.

Kowsari said the American officials will be charged with violations of human rights.

THE LIE OF THE CENTURY

In the end, the real proof that we were lied to about Iraq's weapons of mass destruction is that no weapons of mass destruction were ever found. That means that every single piece of paper that purported to prove that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction was by default a fraud, a hoax, and a lie. There could be no evidence that supported the claim that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction because Iraq did not have weapons of mass destruction. In a way, the existence of any faked documents about Iraq's WMDs is actually an admission of guilt. If one is taking the time to create fake documents, the implication is that the faker is already aware that there are no genuine documents.

It is time for all the Rivero's Rangers to remind everyone they know just how we were all lied into the war on Iraq, because based on today's article in the New York Times about Iranian "nuclear triggers", it seems that the US Government, Israel, and the corporate media really do believe you are a bunch of total idiots who will fall for the same dumb lie twice in a row!

Fool me once.

Yes, the New York Times really does think you are stupid enough to fall for the same damned lie twice in a row.

The world’s global nuclear inspection agency, frustrated by Iran’s refusal to answer questions, revealed for the first time on Tuesday that it possesses evidence that Tehran has conducted work on a highly sophisticated nuclear triggering technology that experts said could be used for only one purpose: setting off a nuclear weapon.

(But the New York Times was not confident enough to allow comments on this story!)

Iran Angling for Helicopters With Nuke Capability

The arrest on Thursday of five Spanish businessmen and three Iranians allegedly planning to smuggle into Iran military helicopters formerly owned by Israel sparks concerns over the possible use of nuclear-armed cruise missiles by Tehran's Islamist regime.

Because obsessing over Iran's never-proven nuclear weapons mounted on non-existent cruise missiles means Newsmax is trying to distract the reader from the fact that Israel is selling weapons to Iran at the same time Israel is demanding the US go to war against Iran.

Not surprisingly, commenting on this NewsMax article is mot allowed.

Obama to Host Israeli President at White House on Tuesday

President Obama will host Israeli President Shimon Peres at the White House next week for a working lunch, the administration announced late Thursday afternoon.

US Sanctions Iranian Officials for Crushing Protests

State Department Spokesman P.J. Crowley said the action shows the United States' commitment to Iranians seeking to exercise basic rights and solidarity with victims of torture and persecution, even though the sanctions might have limited affect.

"It’s a significant statement," said P.J. Crowley. "I can’t tell you how often they travel or what their level of personal riches are. All I can tell is that we have the authority to do this, and we have done this. And hopefully, it will complicate their lives."

U.S. most armed country with 90 guns per 100 people

(Reuters) - The United States has 90 guns for every 100 citizens, making it the most heavily armed society in the world, a report released on Tuesday said.

U.S. citizens own 270 million of the world's 875 million known firearms, according to the Small Arms Survey 2007 by the Geneva-based Graduate Institute of International Studies.

About 4.5 million of the 8 million new guns manufactured worldwide each year are purchased in the United States, it said.

"There is roughly one firearm for every seven people worldwide. Without the United States, though, this drops to about one firearm per 10 people," it said.

IAEA Director: Iran has no arms program

http://presstv.com/detail/168765.html

The director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency has once again confirmed that Iran is not after a nuclear arms program.

IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano said on Monday, quote, "We are not saying that Iran has a nuclear weapons program. We have concerns and we want to clarify the matter."

Amano made the remarks at the opening session of the IAEA Board of Governors meeting in Vienna, Austria.

This is while the UN nuclear agency in its latest report in February reaffirmed that there has been no diversion in the civilian nature of Iran's nuclear program.

All reports the IAEA has so far issued on Tehran's nuclear activities verify that there has been no diversion in the country's civilian nuclear activities.

In February, the US National Intelligence Estimate also reiterated its 2007 position that US spy agencies have concluded that Iran is not after nuclear weapons.

The Islamic Republic says that as a member of the IAEA and a signatory to the NPT, it has the right to use peaceful nuclear energy under international law.

Iran invites EU, others to tour its nuclear sites

Iran has invited Russia, China, the European Union and its allies among the Arab and developing world to tour its nuclear sites, in an apparent move to gain support ahead of a new round of talks with six world powers.

In a letter made available Monday to The Associated Press, senior Iranian envoy Ali Asghar Soltanieh suggests the weekend of Jan. 15 and 16 and says that meetings "with high-ranking officials" are envisaged.

While no reason was given for the timing of the offer, it comes just weeks before Iran and the six powers follow up on recent talks that ended with agreement on little else but to meet again.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Is this the action of a government which believes that it has something to hide?!?

Report: U.S.-Israel Tested Worm Linked to Iran Atom Woes

http://www.foxnews.com/scitech/2011/01/16/report-israel-tested-worm-linked-iran-atom-woes/

WASHINGTON -- Israel has tested a computer worm believed to have sabotaged Iran's nuclear centrifuges and slowed its ability to develop an atomic weapon, The New York Times reported Saturday.

In what the Times described as a joint Israeli-U.S. effort to undermine Iran's nuclear ambitions, it said the tests of the destructive Stuxnet worm had occurred over the past two years at the heavily guarded Dimona complex in the Negev desert.

The newspaper cited unidentified intelligence and military experts familiar with Dimona who said Israel had spun centrifuges virtually identical to those at Iran's Natanz facility, where Iranian scientists are struggling to enrich uranium.

"To check out the worm, you have to know the machines," an American expert on nuclear intelligence told the newspaper. "The reason the worm has been effective is that the Israelis tried it out."

US to Test Iran’s ‘Pain Threshold’ Over Nuclear Plans

Top Obama aide Gary Samore today condemned Iran’s willingness to engage in diplomacy with the United States as a “ploy” and said that the United States is going to respond with a series of retaliatory sanctions to punish them for it and to test Iran’s “pain threshold.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

These sanctions will push the US and Iran ever more close to war, which, of course, is Israel's design intent.

But I would like to suggest for a moment to those in the bowels of power in DC that they consider the following stark realities:

1. It is highly unlikely that Russia and China will sit idly by while Iran gets attacked. They may well, and quickly, enter the war on the side of Iran, and both nations are nuclear armed.

2. If there is a military strike against Iran, it has to be a blitzkrieg: the US no longer has the manufacturing capability to handle a sustained war, because most of our manufacturing has been offshored.

Mullen: US Still Thinking About Attacking Iran

Despite providing no new evidence to the contrary, US Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Admiral Michael Mullen says he “doesn’t believe for a second” that Iran’s nuclear program is for peaceful purposes, and reiterated that the US is considering attacking Iran over it.

Timing the threat like this may suggest the talks aren’t going to amount to much.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The US and Israel are going to do everything in their power to insure that these talks don't have a successful outcome, then use the lack of a successful outcome as the "justification" for a military attack.

But there are a couple of issues which I hope that those in the bowels of power in DC and Tel Aviv take into consideration.

1. Unless the US is able to do this with an absolute blitzkrieg attack, the US is incapable of victory, because the manufacturing necessary to support a sustained war has pretty much been offshored.

2. The governments of China and Russia, two of Iran's main trading partners, are hardly likely to sit still and do nothing, should such an attack take place, and both countries are nuclear armed.

3. Such an attack will make American military personnel deployed anywhere in the Middle East sitting ducks for a savage counter-attack.

Iran Acknowledges Espionage At Nuclear Facilities

TEHRAN - Iran revealed for the first time Saturday that some personnel at the country's nuclear facilities were lured by promises of money to pass secrets to the West, but said increased security and worker privileges have put a stop to the spying.

The stunning acknowledgment by Vice President Ali Akbar Salehi provides the clearest government confirmation that Iran has been fighting espionage at its nuclear facilities.

Iran Accuses IAEA of Leaking Info to US

Faced with a new series of demands from IAEA chief Amano Yukiya, including a reiteration of the call for them to aceept the controversial “Additional Protocol,” the Iranian government rejected the calls, saying the IAEA can’t be trusted to conduct even wider inspections.

The Additional Protocol would give the IAEA far greater rights of access to facilities, including the ability to probe any “suspected location” on short notice. Though Iran voluntarily complied with the protocol for a time, their parliament never ratified it, and ordered the government to stop complying with it in retaliation for UN sanctions.

Webmaster's Commentary:

When a signatory to the NNPT follows inspection procedures to the letter and still gets slammed by UN sanctions, who can blame them for not wanting to offer further cooperation?!?

Of course, the governments of the US and Israel are going to jump on this as as "proof" that Iran has a nuclear bomb program going.

And when they do, please remember: these are the same folks who told you that Iraq's Saddam Hussein had nuclear weapons!

Webmaster's Commentary:

A few thoughts about the US institutionalization of torture:

1. When we torture, we violate every human rights treaty to which we have ever been signatory.

2. When we torture, US government officials can no longer speak about America's love for justice, human rights, and human dignity, because we are observing those values in the breach, not in the observance of them.

3. When we torture, we give carte blanche for any government or insurgency to torture our military or civilian personnel. Please chew on that for a while, particularly if you have friends or family currently serving in the US military

Ahmadinejad joins China, Russia leaders at summit

Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Wednesday joined the Chinese and Russian leaders in a rare encounter at a summit in Kazakhstan, where he launched a new attack on the "slavers and colonisers" of the West.

The message of this meeting is clear. War with Iran will mean war with Russia and China. For the US Government, who apparently believes a world war will make the other problems go away, that is a great thing. And certainly Israel, which pushes ever harder to send the US into Iran, would be perfectly happy to see the Russians, Chinese, Iranians, and Americans all wipe each other out and leave more of the Earth for Israel to rule, this is also a great thing. And no question the bankers love a good war because everybody goes into debt, and they do not care which side wins.

But I think a new world war is a stupid idea, all the more so because the US will lose it. And I hope you all agree with me, and that you will join us in opposition in yet another war to make the world safe for private central banking.

Russian army chief of staff Gen. N. Makarov broke the news on September 22 that Russia will not sell the S-300 air defense systems to Iran. It is against Israel's interests to join a global anti-nuclear arms treaty and the UN atomic watchdog is overstepping its mandate in demanding it to do so, its nuclear chief said on Tuesday.

Israel Suspected in Worm Sabotage of Iran's First Nuclear Plant

The New York Times quotes a former U.S. intelligence office as saying that the attack was the work of Israel’s equivalent of America’s National Security Agency, known as Unit 8200. According to IEEE Spectrum's December issue, Israel had previously used a cyber-attack to shut off radar systems in Syria, allowing it to evaluate what it believed to be an under-construction nuclear reactor.

Israeli cyber unit responsible for Iran computer worm – claim

Computer experts have discovered a biblical reference embedded in the code of the computer worm that has pointed to Israel as the origin of the cyber attack.

The code contains the word "myrtus", which is the Latin biological term for the myrtle tree. The Hebrew word for myrtle, Hadassah, was the birth name of Esther, the Jewish queen of Persia.

In the Bible, The Book of Esther tells how the queen pre-empted an attack on the country's Jewish population and then persuaded her husband to launch an attack before being attacked themselves.

Israel has threatened to launch a pre-emptive attack on Iran's facilities to ensure that the Islamic state does not gain the ability to threaten its existence.

Iran nabs several 'nuclear spies'

Iran's intelligence minister has announced the arrest of a number of "nuclear spies," insisting that the nation's intelligence apparatus is actively engaged in countering massive enemy schemes.

Stuxnet 'cyber superweapon' moves to China

A computer virus dubbed the world's "first cyber superweapon" by experts and which may have been designed to attack Iran's nuclear facilities has found a new target -- China.

The Stuxnet computer worm has wreaked havoc in China, infecting millions of computers around the country, state media reported this week.

Stuxnet is feared by experts around the globe as it can break into computers that control machinery at the heart of industry, allowing an attacker to assume control of critical systems like pumps, motors, alarms and valves.

It could, technically, make factory boilers explode, destroy gas pipelines or even cause a nuclear plant to malfunction.

Pentagon Accused Of Launching Supervirus Attack On Iran

Webmaster's Commentary:

Whether it is Israel or the US or both that committed this act of industrial sabotage, the question the mainstream media is refusing to ask is what would have happened if these bozos made a mistake and instead of shutting down the power station they triggered a Chernobyl-style melt down and showered the Mideast with radiation, poisoning the cities, poisoning the people, and poisoning the oil fields on which we are still dependent? Is anyone actually thinking these things through? Or are we ruled by leaders who do not care if they blow up the world as long as those gosh-darned Muslims get it first?

One thing is clear. Since this computer weapon has to be inserted using an infected USB flash drive, there is a foreign spy on the staff at the power station.

Iran detains seven U.S. troops

http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE68I0OH20100919

Iranian border guards detained seven U.S. troops as they tried to illegally enter the Islamic state, the semi-official Fars news agency reported on Sunday, without giving a source.

"Recently seven American troops were detained by Iranian guards in a southeastern province of the country ... Two Iranians accompanying the troops were also arrested," said Fars...

If confirmed, the incident would aggravate tension between Tehran and Washington, which have lacked diplomatic relations since Iran's 1979 Islamic Revolution and are at odds over many issues particularly Iran's disputed nuclear program.

Iran on Tuesday freed one of three Americans held for over a year ago for alleged spying. Sara Shourd was detained near Iran's border with Iraq in late July 2009 along with two male companions, Shane Bauer and Josh Fattal. Their families say the three were on a mountain hike in northern Iraq at the time.

'Unfounded': Iran denies arresting 7 U.S. troops

Iran denied on Sunday that border guards had detained seven U.S. troops, calling the report "unfounded", the state-run English language Press TV said.

The country's Arabic language television al-Alam also quoted Iran's Revolutionary Guards, in charge of Iran's border security, as denying that any such incident had happened in the southeastern province of Sistan-Baluchestan.

Iran Reiterates Offer to Halt 20 Percent Uranium Enrichment

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad reiterated his country’s longstanding offer to halt the enrichment of uranium to 20 percent levels, provided that a source of fuel can be found for the US-built Tehran Research Reactor (TRR).

Webmaster's Commentary:

Iran, as a member of the NNPT, is doing its level best to be reasonable on this issue.

Unfortunately, however, a 'reasonable Iran' is not how the US, Israel, and the EU want Iran to bee seen, and will most probably remain collectively unresponsive to this offer.

Despite US Warnings, Arab Nations Likely to Mention Israeli Nukes at IAEA Meeting

Despite repeated US warnings not to mention Israel during next week’s Vienna meetings of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), reports suggest that a number of Arab nations are planning to bring the topic up again and to urge Israel to join the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). The US is expected to vigorously oppose this effort.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Good!

Should the US publicly reproach Arab countries for taking this tack, this will be a clear demonstration of the US's schizophrenic foreign policy, which supports Israel's nuclear program, unimpeded by any IAEA inspection, and opposes Iran's civilian nuclear program, which it does as a member of the NNPT, under the supervision of the IAEA.

Row over UN inspectors in Iran to dominate IAEA meet

Diplomats close to the IAEA said the Iran report showed that Tehran, instead of helping to allay Western fears about a possible covert nuclear weapons programme, was only undermining any confidence in the proclaimed peaceful nature of its work.

The so-called "de-designation" of inspectors was "troubling", even if Iran was perfectly within its rights to vet IAEA inspectors coming into the country, as every member state is, the diplomats said.

It was the first time that experienced inspectors who had already been working in a country for a long time had suddenly had their permits revoked, they said, suggesting it was a way for Iran to intimidate and dissuade inspectors from asking too many awkward questions.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Memo to Ayatollah Ali Khamenei: the timing on this decision to "de-designate" IAEA inspectors, sir, could not possibly be worse.

The US and Israel are going to use this as the "smoking gun" to attempt to prove that Iran has a nuclear weapons program.

Please be aware that before the US war against Iraq, Iraq expelled IAEA inspectors who were accused of espionage. Ultimately, after all the blood and money spent, it was clear that Iraq never, ever had a nuclear bomb.

If the Iranian government has problems with the inspectors it has "de-designated", the world needs to know, and now, just what the problems the Iranian government has with these inspectors.

CASMII: Fact Sheet on US-Iran Standoff

http://www.veteranstoday.com/2010/09/13/casmii-fact-sheet-on-us-iran-standoff/

By Campaign Against Sanctions and Military Intervention in Iran (CASMI) via My Catbird Seat

The current U.S. standoff against Iran, like the run-up to the invasion of Iraq in 2003, was instigated by the neoconservatives of the Bush Administration based on their doctrine of “maintaining U.S. pre-eminence, thwarting rival powers and shaping the global security system according to U.S. interests”.

The same forces in U.S., U.K., Israel and allies today distort the truth and engage in deceit, coercion and aggression to achieve their goals. We will briefly examine some of the key facts in the standoff.

ISRAEL ORDERS MASSIVE MILITARY FUEL STOCKS FAR IN EXCESS OF THAT REQUIRED FOR NORMAL OPERATIONS

Three weeks ago the US Defence Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) published a notice, as it is legally required to do, announcing that Israel has ordered massive quantities of various fuels suitable for military use, and in the case of the order for JP-8 jet fuel, suitable only for military use.

The massive order is valued at some $2 billion and, as well as the 284 million gallons (1.075 billion litres) of JP-8 jet fuel, the order also includes 60 million gallons (227 million litres) of unleaded gasoline and 100 million gallons (378 million litres) of diesel fuel.

If Israel were planning to strike Iran then that would explain the requirement for the large amounts of JP-8 fuel. However, it does not explain Israel’s need for such large amounts of gasoline and diesel fuel since an Israeli strike against Iran is unlikely to include any type of ground incursion into Iran for which these fuels would be used. The only conclusion one can draw, if Israel is not planning to actually invade Iran, which, clearly, it could not, is that Israel is planning to use the gasoline and the diesel fuel for some other ground incursion – and that can only mean an invasion of Lebanon and possibly the Gaza and West Bank when an attack against Iran is launched.

This massive order begs the question; is the final confrontation imminent? And, if not, then what is all this fuel for?

Time will tell. Jet fuel, if it’s going to be used in peak condition, doesn’t have a very long shelf life.

Former Mossad Chief: World Must Attack Iran Now

Speaking today at the International Institute for Counter-Terrorism conference, former Mossad chief Danny Yatom urged the international community to come together and form a joint air force led by the United States to launch massive air strikes across Iran.

“Sanctions are not enough, I am hopeful that the world will come to its senses,” Yatom noted. Coming to its senses, it seems, is a euphemism for starting a massive war that is bound to spread across virtually the entire Middle East.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Memo to former Mossad chief Danny Yatom: sir,,let's just have Israel start this next war; and because it has "...come to its senses," the sane leadership of the rest of the world will wait this one out.

It's going to be interesting to see what happens if the US decides to sit on the sidelines of Israel's next war, and Russia and China decide to enter the fray on the side of Iran; very interesting indeed.

US plans massive arms sale to Saudi to counter Iran threat

The United States plans to offer Saudi Arabia 60 billion dollars' worth of hi-tech fighters and helicopters to help counter the threat posed by Iran, in the largest ever US arms deal, officials said Monday.

A senior defense official said President Barack Obama's administration would formally notify Congress this week or next about the groundbreaking deal, which follows months of talks with the Saudis, who are increasingly anxious about Iran's missile arsenal.

Webmaster's Commentary:

There is no threat from Iran, period. Iranian leadership is many things, but not suicidally stupid.

These arms going to Saudi Arabia are going there as a "good will" gesture on the part of the US before the US and Israel attack Iran.

After Congressional approval, the delivery date will give us a good idea of approximately how soon after that the US and Israel intend to attack Iran.

West needs new missile shield against Iranian nuclear threat, Nato chief says

Anders Fogh Rasmussen told The Sunday Telegraph he has full American backing for a proposed €200 million (£165 million) defensive "shield", which he hopes will be agreed in November at a summit of members in Lisbon.

He was speaking after weapons inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) warned last week that Iran had passed a crucial nuclear threshold which took it nearer to being able to arm ballistic missiles with nuclear warheads.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Forgive me, but has this gentleman gone absolutely barking mad?!?

The Iranian government is many things, but not stupid. The Iranian Parliament members understand, without question, that attacking any NATO member country would be tantamount to suicide.

Here is the IAEA report, from 6 Sept 010:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/middleeast/iran/7985438/Iran-on-brink-of-nuclear-weapon-warns-watchdog.html

"A report by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said Iranian nuclear scientists had made at least 22 kilograms of enriched uranium up to 20 per cent purity, a technical hurdle that is the hardest to overcome on the way to weapons-grade uranium.

Experts estimate that 20 kgs of uranium is a significant step toward arming a warhead. The uranium would still need to have its purity raised to 90 per cent, but that is a relatively easy process."

And why is Iran enriching uranium to 20%?!? It is doing this for the production of medical isotopes, a fact this article fails completely to mention.

As a signatory to the NNPT, all nuclear work is done under the inspection of the IAEA. To date, every IAEA report indicates that no nuclear material has gone missing, nor has it been enriched over the 20% necessary for the creation of medical isotopes.

Even if Iran was developing a nuclear deterrent, who in their right mind could blame them, after the US gave Iran and the world a very concrete object lesson as to what could happen to an oil-rich country which did not have a nuclear deterrent, as was the case with Iraq?!?

US & British Intel Agencies Are Working On A Fake Video To Lead To War With Iran

Iran on brink of nuclear weapon, warns watchdog

A report by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said Iranian nuclear scientists had made at least 22 kilograms of enriched uranium at least 20 per cent purity, a technical hurdle that is the hardest to overcome on the way to weapons-grade uranium.

Experts estimate that 20 kgs of uranium is the minimum required to arm a warhead. The uranium would still need to have its purity raised to 90 per cent, but that is a relatively easy process.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is more of that propaganda Israel pays so much money for.

What the IAEA actually said was that Iran has enriched uranium up to 20 percent, the level required for medical isotopes. The IAEA did not state this was a step towards a nuclear weapon, nor did it say that this was a significant technical hurdle, after which the climb to 90% is "a relatively easy process." In fact the refinement from 20% to 90% represents a four-fold increase in difficulty and cost.

I can understand why the Telegraph does not allow reader comments on their stories, because anyone with a knowledge of nuclear physics would rip this obvious pro-war baloney into shreds.

Israeli President: Iran Threatens to Use Nuclear Weapons

Having been snubbed by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency Amano Yukiya visited with Israel’s President Shimon Peres instead.

Peres, whose position in Israel is largely ceremonial, demanded that Amano and the rest of the world “acknowledge the danger” Iran poses to Israel and the rest of the world, adding that Iran “threatens to use nuclear weapons.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Let's get a couple of issues absolutely straight here.

1. Iran, a signatory to the NNPT, has no nuclear weapons; only a power station, built under the watchful eye of the IAEA, and subject to IAEA inspections.

2. Israel, which has nuclear weapons, refuses to become a signatory to the NNPT, and refuses inspections of its nuclear sites.

3. All US aid to Israel since the passage of the Symington Amendment, has been illegal, in light of the fact that Israel has nuclear weapons but refuses to sign the NNPT and refuses inspections of its nuclear sites.

3. The IAEA asked Israel to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and to submit to inspections. Israel refused.

Israel PM snubs UN atomic watchdog chief: newspaper

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has snubbed UN atomic watchdog chief Yukiya Amano who is on his first visit to Israel, the Haaretz newspaper reported on Tuesday.

Amano, head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), had asked to meet with Netanyahu months ago, but the scheduled meeting was abruptly cancelled last week as the premier planned to go on holiday, the paper said.

Unrepentant Tony Blair Calls for Iran Attacks

If the Iraq War has somewhat faded in Americans’ memories with the myriad false declarations of victory in recent weeks, it is a much more bitter taste in Britain, where public hearings continue into how the nation was brought into such a disastrous conflict. Blair however chides antiwar people to “keep an open mind” and insists that the war was a great success.

So great a success in fact that he seems eager to replicate it with a similar war against Iran on similarly false pretenses. How similar? Blair actually cites 9/11 and accuses Iran of “developing nuclear weapons” before concluding that there is “no alternative” to a military attack on them.

OK, it's official: Tony Blair has gone absolutely barking mad!!

Obama Is Preparing to Bomb Iran

By Webster G. Tarpley

July 21, 2010

After about two and a half years during which the danger of war between the United States and Iran was at a relatively low level, this threat is now rapidly increasing. A pattern of political and diplomatic events, military deployments, and media chatter now indicates that Anglo-American ruling circles, acting through the troubled Obama administration, are currently gearing up for a campaign of bombing against Iran, combined with special forces incursions designed to stir up rebellions among the non-Persian nationalities of the Islamic Republic. Naturally, the probability of a new fake Gulf of Tonkin incident or false flag terror attack staged by the Anglo-American war party and attributed to Iran or its proxies is also growing rapidly.

"Countdown to Zero": Hollywood Movie Promotes War on Iran

Seductive, fascinating and frightening, Countdown to Zero motivates the public to support complete nuclear disarmament and to fear Iran, which is conveniently the next country the US wants to invade. Framed in no-nuke rhetoric, Countdown to Zero is not-so-subtle agitprop. The film relies on conventional geopolitics to whip up conventional audiences into another conventional state of panic. Islamo-terrorists just can’t acquire this technology! This is painfully similar to what we were told prior to the invasion of Iraq.

The Next War

With Adm. Mike Mullen’s ambivalent acknowledgment several days ago on "Meet the Press" that the military indeed has a plan for invading Iran, to be used if necessary, "the next war" has begun, suddenly, to take shape in the media. No public input needed! We’re the spectators here. Stay tuned. We’ll bring it to you live.

Webmaster's Commentary:

There is a very real possibility that a US/Israeli strike against Iran could well end in catastrophe for these two countries, particularly if Russia and China decide to enter the war on the side of Iran.
I would like to hope that this possibility keeps some in the corridors of power in Tel Aviv and Washington awake at night, but seriously doubt it.

“Iran has obtained S-300 air defense systems”

Tehran has obtained four S-300 surface-to-air missiles, the Iranian news agency Fars has said. Two missiles were purchased from Belarus and two others from another unspecified source, it added.
According to Fars, the semiofficial news agency, Tehran’s possession of the missiles was revealed last year by Al-Menar TV. Iranian government officials never denied the report.
S-300s can track targets and fire at aircraft, cruise missiles and ballistic missile warheads 120 kilometers away, and are able to simultaneously engage up to 100 targets. Israel fears the possible delivery of the systems to Iran would change “the balance of forces” in the region. Analysts say Tehran may use the S-300 in case of a military strike against the country.

There's no way for the U.S. to win a non-nuclear war with Iran

When Admiral Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the highest-ranking American officer, was asked recently on NBC’s Meet The Press whether the United States has a military plan for an attack on Iran, he replied simply: “We do.”

General staffs are supposed to plan for even the most unlikely future contingencies. Right down to the 1930s, for example, the United States maintained and annually updated plans for the invasion of Canada—and the Canadian military made plans to preempt the invasion. But what the planning process will have revealed, in this case, is that there is no way for the United States to win a non-nuclear war with Iran.

The U.S. could “win” by dropping hundreds of nuclear weapons on Iran’s military bases, nuclear facilities and industrial centres (i.e. cities) and killing five to 10 million people, but short of that, nothing works. On this we have the word of Richard Clarke, counter-terrorism adviser in the White House under three administrations.

In the early 1990s, Clarke revealed in an interview with the New York Times four years ago, the Clinton administration had seriously considered a bombing campaign against Iran, but the military professionals told them not to do it.

“After a long debate, the highest levels of the military could not forecast a way in which things would end favourably for the United States,” he said. The Pentagon’s planners have war-gamed an attack on Iran several times in the past 15 years, and they just can’t make it come out as a U.S. victory.

It’s not the fear of Iranian nuclear weapons that makes the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff so reluctant to get involved in a war with Iran. Those weapons don't exist, and the whole justification for the war would be to make sure that they never do.

The problem is that there’s nothing the U.S. can do to Iran, short of nuking the place, that would really force Tehran to kneel and beg for mercy. It can bomb Iran’s nuclear sites and military installations to its heart’s content, but everything it destroys can be rebuilt in a few years. And there is no way that the United States could actually invade Iran.

There are some 80 million people in Iran, and although many of them don’t like the present regime they are almost all fervent patriots who would resist a foreign invasion. Iran is a mountainous country, and very big: four times the size of Iraq. The Iranian army currently numbers about 450,000 men, slightly smaller than the U.S. Army—but unlike the U.S. Army, it does not have its troops scattered across literally dozens of countries.

If the White House were to propose anything larger than minor military incursions along Iran’s south coast, senior American generals would resign in protest. Without the option of a land war, the only lever the United States would have on Iranian policy is the threat of yet more bombs—but if they aren’t nuclear, then they aren’t very persuasive. Whereas Iran would have lots of options for bringing pressure on the United States.

Just stopping Iran’s own oil exports would drive the oil price sky-high in a tight market: Iran accounts for around seven percent of internationally traded oil. But it could also block another 40 percent of global oil exports just by sinking tankers coming from Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and the other Arab Gulf states with its lethal Noor anti-ship missiles.

The Noor anti-ship missile is a locally built version of the Chinese YJ-82. It has a 200-km range, enough to cover all the major choke points in the Gulf. It flies at twice the speed of sound just metres above the sea’s surface, and it has a tiny radar profile. Its single-shot kill probability has been put as high as 98 percent.

Iran’s mountainous coastline extends along the whole northern side of the Gulf, and these missiles have easily concealed mobile launchers. They would sink tankers with ease, and in a few days insurance rates for tankers planning to enter the Gulf would become prohibitive, effectively shutting down the region’s oil exports completely.

Meanwhile Iran would start supplying modern surface-to-air missiles to the Taliban in Afghanistan, and that would soon shut down the U.S. military effort there. (It was the arrival of U.S.-supplied Stinger missiles in Afghanistan in the late 1980s that drove Russian helicopters from the sky and ultimately doomed the whole Soviet intervention there.)

Iranian ballistic missiles would strike U.S. bases on the southern (Arab) side of the Gulf, and Iran’s Hezbollah allies in Beirut would start dropping missiles on Israel. The United States would have no options for escalation other than the nuclear one, and pressure on it to stop the war would mount by the day as the world’s industries and transport ground to a halt.

The end would be an embarrassing retreat by the United States, and the definitive establishment of Iran as the dominant power of the Gulf region. That was the outcome of every wargame the Pentagon played, and Mike Mullen knows it. So there is a plan for an attack on Iran, but he would probably rather resign than put it into action. It is all bluff. It always was.

Ankara tells US it won’t adhere to new sanctions on Iran

Turkish officials have told an American delegation that it has no intention of following unilateral US sanctions on Iran, a move likely to deepen a rift between the two NATO allies over the Islamic republic's contentious nuclear program that Washington believes is aimed at developing nuclear weapons.

Russia Plan to Help Iran Challenges Sanctions

Russia’s energy minister announced a broad program of cooperation with Iran in the oil, natural gas and petrochemical industries on Wednesday that appeared to invite Russian companies to contravene sanctions the Obama administration adopted just two weeks ago.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So much for "sanctions that bite", considering that China and India are also assisting Iran with its refined petroleum needs.
The question is, what is the US actually able to do about this, short of declaring war on these countries?!?

Russia's LUKOIL resumes gasoline supply to Iran -trade

Iran is the world's fifth-largest oil exporter but lacks adequate refining capacity to meet domestic demand for motor fuel, forcing it to import up to 40 percent of its requirements.
Russia and China, both permanent members of the U.N. Security Council, signed up to the latest round of U.N. sanctions on Iran, but refused to support measures that targeted the Islamic Republic's oil and gas sector.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The US, in its efforts to please Israel by creating a war against Iran, has just nailed another nail in the coffin of the American economy.
While the sanctions preventing the US markets from obtaining Iranian oil are hurting our economy, we have just driven Iran even further into an alliance with Russia and China.

U.S. and EU fail to isolate Iran: LA Times

Efforts by the United States and its European allies to build a united front to halt Iran's nuclear program are facing increasingly bold resistance from China, Russia, India and Turkey, which are rushing to boost their economies by seizing investment opportunities in defiance of sanctions imposed by the West, the Los Angeles Times has reported.

Looks as though this push for sanctions on the part of the US and EU is crumbling, and fast.

Bolton Lays Out His Pro-Israel Strategy: Increase Political Support In The U.S. For Letting Israel Bomb Iran

Indeed, the Weekly Standard’s Bill Kristol — a member of ECI’s leadership board — has been supporting and advocating a strike on Iran’s nuclear program for quite some time. So yes, Bolton is right, there is an “obvious disjunction” between ECI and the Obama administration’s policy; despite the debacle in Iraq, the former still appears to believe that war will achieve peace in the Middle East, while the latter has learned from the neocons’ mistakes in favor of negotiation and diplomacy.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Iran's pawns

July 31 marked a year since the Californian and two other American hikers - Shane Bauer, 28, of Minnesota, and Josh Fattal, 28, of Elkins Park - were seized by Iranian authorities after straying across an unmarked border.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is a repeat of the tactic used by Israel to justify the attack on Lebanon back in 2006. Two Israeli soldiers walked across the border into a Lebanese village whereupon they were captured. Israel screamed "kidnap" and launched their attack (the incident with the tree appears to have been another attempt by Israel to initiate an attack against Lebanon and make it look like Lebanon's fault).

In the case of these three hikers, all three are Jewish, and as the comments point out, likely Mossad. Witnesses in the area reported warning these three not to go towards the border with Iran. There is no question these hikers knew where they were going. "Lost" doesn't quite cut it when every modern cell phone has a GPS system in it.
These three hikers, like the two soldiers in Lebanon, are a set-up to create a cause for war.

US, NATO behind Iran bombings: MP

An Iranian lawmaker slams the recent bombings in the country's southeast as a plot by Western military forces in the Middle East to spread terror on Iran's borders.
On Thursday July 15, two bomb explosions in quick succession took place outside the Zahedan Grand Mosque. At least 27 people lost their lives and more than 100 others were injured in the terrorist attack, which has been widely blamed on extremist Wahabis and Salafis trained by US intelligence in Pakistan.
Member of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Mohammad Karami-Rad blamed the deadly attack on American and NATO agents in the region.
"The US must be held directly responsible for this terrorist act," Mehr News Agency quoted Karami-Rad as saying on Friday.

Neocons Hope Israel Will Start a Fire the U.S. Will Be Forced to Put Out

Neocons are supporting an Israeli attack on Iran in the hope that the U.S. would be drawn into the ensuing conflict. “If the Israelis bomb now, American public opinion will probably be with them,” writes neocon Reuel Marc Gerecht.
“Perhaps decisively so.” Reuel Marc Gerecht’s screed justifying an Israeli bombing attack on Iran coincides with the opening of the new Israel lobby campaign marked by the introduction of House resolution 1553 expressing full support for such an Israeli attack.
What is important to understand about this campaign is that the aim of Gerecht and of the right-wing government of Benjamin Netanyahu is to support an attack by Israel so that the United States can be drawn into direct, full-scale war with Iran.

Iran blames West over mosque attack

Iran has blamed the West and Israel for the twin suicide bombings on a mosque two days ago that killed at least 27 people and left scores wounded.
As funerals for the victims of Thursday's attack got under way, Iranian police also arrested 40 people for "creating disturbances", local media reported on Saturday.
The Jundallah (Soldiers of God) group claimed responsibility for the bombings, which targeted a Shia mosque attended by members of the elite Revolutionary Guards in the predominantly Sunni city of Zahedan in the Sistan-Baluchestan province.

Fueling of Iran's Nuclear Plant Begins

Press TV
Iran has begun loading its first nuclear power plant in the southern city of Bushehr with fuel in an effort to provide the country with nuclear-generated electricity. Nuclear fuel is being transferred to the Bushehr reactor under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency and senior officials from Iran and Russia.

No 'proliferation risk' from Iran nuclear power plant: U.S.

The United States sees no “proliferation risk” from Iran’s Russian-built first nuclear power plant at Bushehr that was loaded with fuel Saturday, the State Department said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is a signal that the US Government will not support Israel in an attack against Iran based on the power station, which is authorized by the NNPT. While Israel can still resort to another false-flag attack to kick off the war, at least for the moment the plan for war with Iran is stalled (which may be why Israel is overflying Lebanon at the moment to feel butch).

But one thing is clear, everyone got to see Israel's paid presstitutes playing every propaganda trick they could, from the Goldberg article to the screed about Obama being a Muslim, and now everyone knows for themselves that Israel does indeed control the US media.

Israel says Iranian reactor use 'totally unacceptable'

In a statement issued after the Islamic Republic celebrated the launch of its reactor in Bushehr, Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman Yossi Levy said: "It is totally unacceptable that a country that so blatantly violates resolutions of the (United Nations) Security Council, decisions of the International Atomic Energy Agency and its commitments under the NPT (non-proliferation treaty) should enjoy the fruits of using nuclear energy."

Webmaster's Commentary:

How to get your share of Israel's media manipulations millions!

1. Never mention that Israel has never signed the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty nor does it allow IAEA inspections of its nuclear facilities.

2. Ignore the fact that Israel actually does build nuclear weapons in a clandestine lab underneath Dimona.

3. Ignore the fact that Israel has had nuclear weapons since the 1960s and attempted to sell them to Apartheid South Africa; the very activity the NNPT is intended to prevent.

4. Ignore the fact that last Spring, Rose Gottemoeller, an assistant secretary of state and Washington's chief nuclear arms negotiator, asked Israel to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. Israel refused.

5. Ignore the fact that the United Nations passed a resolution calling on Israel to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and to submit to inspections. Israel refused.

6. Ignore the fact that the IAEA asked Israel to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and to submit to inspections. Israel refused.

7. Ignore the fact that Iran's formal notification to the IAEA of the planned construction of the backup fuel-rod facility underscores that Iran is playing by the rules of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty which Iran has signed.

8. Ignore the fact that Iran allows IAEA inspections of all its facilities.

9. Ignore the fact that the IAEA and all 16 United States Intelligence Agencies are unanimous in agreement that Iran is not building and does not possess nuclear weapons.

10. Ignore the fact that in 1965, Israel stole over 200-600 pounds of weapons-grade uranium from the United States.

Simply follow the above set by step directions in your media reporting on the issue of Iran's nuclear threat to the world and you too will reap millions of dollars in cash payments for your obeisance to Mighty Israel!

Webmaster's Commentary:

The three "Hikers" were all Jewish, knew where they were, had GPS, had been warned by the locals NOT to go over into Iran, yet did so apparently to spy or to create a pretext for war.
